People saying Ramos is not is mate, like I don't get mate in what, is it quality, age or the amount of trophy won? Because I believe Thiago Silva in is prime was also a beast. Why he didn't win much trophy was because of the team he played for. He would have been a starter for any team in his prime.
God bless you for this, I'm a liverpool fan but can't deny Silva is top drawer, once upon a time he was considered the best CB in the world, and Ramos hadn't gotten to the level he's at now.

CrimeRe: Is There Any Law Banning Making Of Calls At Police Checkpoints by Eillyeillz(m): 9:37am On Aug 27, 2021
rajiedreez:
I guess the origin of this "no calls at checkpoint" started in the north when the terror was at its peak. It could be that they military men were security conscious that people might inform terrorists that the particular road was manned by security operative for them to follow other route or for the terrorists to plan an attack. But trust naija police they'll hide behind such innocent idea when carrying out their own extortion plans so as not to be caught in action, you'll hear them say " so you want to call bandits to come and attack us abi". So as frustrating and as wrong as it may sound its better to avoid calls at checkpoints so that no one will fear for their lives i.e. you and the police
Wouldn't have bothered if i had seen your comment.

Bar1941:
Am not sure but I think the police at the check point will not like that, they may think you want to report them taking their forceful entitlement (bribe).
No it started when the Boko boys were at their peak, driving round killing force men at check points and detonating bombs remotely using cellular devices.

It was the army that came up with the law of no phone calls in or around check points, started in the north, but soon spread across the country.

Jobs/VacanciesBig Tech Played A Tremendous Role In The Embarrassing Travesty That Is Unfolding by Eillyeillz(op): 6:54am On Aug 18, 2021
It has been widely reported that Taliban leaders used Facebook’s WhatsApp and Twitter to help capture Kabul. Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid enjoys free reign on Twitter with an account that has over 300,000 followers.

Facebook’s WhatsApp has become the de facto communication platform of the Taliban, who reportedly used the service to spread propaganda, communicate with residents of Kabul, and share official statements with the world.

In messages apparently distributed to Kabul residents via the messaging group WhatsApp, the group proclaimed that “we are in charge of security for Kabul.” The messages listed telephone numbers in various neighborhoods that citizens should call if they saw problems such as looting or “irresponsible” behavior on the part of armed individuals. Source

Meanwhile Twitter and Facebook banned the sitting President of the United States back in January and millions of conservative Christians face shadowbans, deplatforming, and blacklisting at the hands of Big Tech companies. If you are a Christian conservative in the United States of America you are treated worse and have less freedom online than the Taliban.

The significance of Big Tech’s involvement in the destabilization of Afghanistan is largely being ignored by the likes of the ADL, SPLC, and the many other activist groups who for years have lobbied Big Tech platforms, hosting providers, payment processors, and more to deplatform and defame Gab and our community.

Facebook and Twitter are once again getting a pass for the many horrors of humanity that they allow to occur on their platforms, while Gab is demonized and deplatformed for giving a home to political dissidents in the United States and other Western countries.

Gab doesn’t host the Taliban. When the U.S. government tells us America’s enemies are on the platform, we take action. Facebook and Twitter do not.

Gab has zero tolerance for threats of violence, terrorist propaganda, and illegal activity. Our community has thousands of group moderators and volunteers who proactivity report and take action against illegal content on our platform.

Gab permits politically incorrect, but fully legal, speech on our platform. The vast majority of the tens of millions of people in our community are normal Christian conservative people who are simply fed up with Big Tech tyranny. A small minority of people in our community use “offensive” but legal language that the mainstream press, activist groups, and Big Tech tyrants have painted as “dangerous.” Apparently more dangerous than the Taliban.

In times like these it’s “dangerous” to think for yourself. It’s dangerous to speak freely. It’s dangerous to point out that Facebook and Twitter get a free pass on the rampant child exploitation, terrorist groups, live streamed murders, and illegal activity that pervades these platforms.

and it’s time to start talking about it.

What most of you, Nigerians, think about is porn, weed, and gamble. Listen to audiobooks and your life will never be the same. Most are free on YouTube.

That was a benevolent gesture, Master. "It's better to teach a beggar how to fish than to give him fish", they say.

I had the privilege of having the 200,000 naira+ per term secondary education until 2014. We had domestic workers successively since I was a baby and they all attended public schools.

But I realized, in a little more than one decade, facts regarding "house helps". Their parents send them to cities so they can feed. They inform them before giving them out as juvenile slaves that their bosses will not treat them like their own kids. They know what the reality is and that's where a boundary is drawn.

My parents would sew new uniforms, buy textbooks and school bags for our house help at the beginning of each session just like they did for us. Her mother usually visited during planting seasons with home-processed garri, maize, pears and other crops harvested through their subsistence agricultural system. She could even stay with her for days in her room. My father would give her reasonable funds for transport and she'd kneel with teary eyes , face the heavens and solicit for God's handsome reward upon my family.

I was so attached to our maid. I was 6 and still bed-wetting and she promised to shield me from my parents who would scold me because my younger siblings stopped the shameful act immediately they could do without diapers. She'd come around 5am in the morning to change the bedsheets and help me bathe. That's how a 14 year-old girl started molesting me.

I wanted her future to be like ours. I offered to teach her basic spelling of English words, and fundamental rules of Concord like noun and verb agreement but she'd rather I wrote love letters which she would give a boy in her class. I was still in primary school and she was in JSS3 during this period.

She cooked excess meals and returned food flasks filled to the brim to gatemen down the street. I heard my parents planning to sponsor her University education because she was " good."

When she got into SS1, she got pregnant. She opened up to my dad because my dad would not even scold her. My dad prevented my mum from giving her a mild slap. My parents arranged with her parents and paid for an abortion so that she'll further her education. After the abortion, she wasn't sent away.

She lived with us and enjoyed much freedom. The straw that broke the camel's back was a call she gave to one of her boyfriends a night we were away. It was an innocent call from her side but would later cause my parents to be ambushed and robbed that night.

Her time was up! She had to leave. Today she's not gone past SS2 and she's roasting corn by the roadside. I identified her when I passed that road.

When she came she was using tissue paper during her menstruation. My mum ensured she used pads. Tissue paper was obviously what females used in her family. The truth remains that these "house helps" become enlightened and exposed to civilization when they are sent to live with middle class families. They get opportunities they'd not ordinarily see if they lived with their parents.

What matters is how they take advantage of their exposure. My grandparents' male housemaid served them for 8 years and they included his name in a scholarship slot to a foreign country. The maid got a good job there and even invited my uncle who was a baby when he left to work in the country immediately my uncle completed his NYSC. The maid is one of the prominent men from my mother's village today.

Halita is an Africa Magic series I'll recommend if you want to understand perspectives about domestic servants. It's intriguing and captivating.
And idea where I can get Halita?? Was following it, but moved around alot so I couldn't keep up.
