EducationRe: What You Passed Through Before You Were Admitted by eitsei(m): 6:51am On Apr 16, 2016
What did I pass through? Hmmmmm.... I sat jamb in 2013 and I always prayed it should be my one and only jamb and I chose Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) and university of Ibadan, got 221 in jamb and wrote both schools post Utme, scored above cut off in UI but didn't do well in FUTA... With this one would imagine UI should admit me but no I was not admitted after I had waited for them to release all their admission lists, FUTA also released their first batch admission list after which they released change of course list luckily for me my name was there but didn't apply for change of course because I wanted to go to UI but when UI didn't work out the deadline for change of course in FUTA had closed and they have released the names of those admitted through change of course and other lists too... So I lost hope in getting admitted that year, na so I go obtain another jamb for 2014 but God had other plans for me, the day I registered for another jamb was the day my name came out with final list of admitted students in FUTA.. Wow it was like a dream I couldn't believe it but it was real and my name came out a week to our resumption...Thank God I made it from one attempt

CareerRe: We Talk About Career. What Influences Your Career Choice? by eitsei(m): 1:35pm On Apr 14, 2016
Jarus:
I will say Dr. Femi Adekanye, former President of CIBN and CEO of defunct Commerce Bank

As an under-10 kid in the late 80s to early 90s, I related with his extended family back home in Kwara. His family house was a stone-throw from ours. Anytime he visited home from Lagos, the whole neighbourhood stood still as everyone came out to watch his convoy of cars, usually Daewoo Racer and Daewoo Espero. I heard he was a banker.

Later, I read about him in the papers as Bank CEO. I vowed to be a banker like him.

When I wanted to write my UME in 2000, I chose Finance in Unilag, but my brother, a more experienced person, advised that I choose Economics in OAU(because he felt Economics is broader than Finance and OAU is easier to get admission into that Unilag).

I went back to my UME form, cleaned the course/school with Tipex and chose Economics/OAU.

I knew I can still become a banker with economics degree. But in 200L in Ife, due majorly to MSSN influence, I perished the ambition to become a banker and switched to oil and gas as my aim. I was fortunate to get an oil and gas job immediately after NYSC, and I have been there all my post-NYSC career, but as an accountant, not an economist.

I became an accountant by accident. I decided to write ICAN exams during my NYSC to keep myself busy. ICAN got me an accounting job post-NYSC and I have been accountant since.

Who influenced my choice?

1, Dr Femi Adekanye
2, My brother
3, MSSN OAU
4, Accident

PS: For full story of Dr Adekanye's influence on me, google my 2012 tribute to him, "Femi Adekanye: There Goeth a Mentor"
believe me you made a better career choice as an accountant than being a banker because of usury(riba)which they are involved with and which our creator fumes at.... I pray Allah put barakah in your handiwork in this world and reward you abundantly for it on the day of qiyaamh

It's possible only if he gets the opportunity to discover and utilize his potentials because it's one thing to dream and it's another thing to work towards actulalizing the dream

In short, without hard work nothing grows but weeds

What I still don't understand is why those state that additionaly received 13% derivation owe workers salary and virtually put development of their state to the halt.
Whether economy downfall or not state like Bayelsa still collect an average of 4bn each month with less than 1m population.
I hope people should now understand base on development from Bayelsa, why aregbesola with 55m allocation and over 3m population unable to pay salary.
these hypocrites know the truth but chose to avoid it instead they use their hypocrisy and hatred to cover it and keep bashing Aregbesola

To think that Bayelsa State is not as big or populated as Osun state with the huge allocation they get, they should be rated as one of the richest state in the federation.

Where is Ben Bruce, the common sense senator when you need him? He's busy tweeting trash on twitter while his constituents are begging to survive. When will he donate his salary to help the suffering Bayelsa worker?

If this is about Osun state, wailers will descend heavily on the thread calling Aregbesola so many names. Oil rich Bayelsa has not paid workers since November 2015 and nobody seems to be concerned.
if this is about osun state now they would have flooded this thread like tsunami with their hypocrisy and hatred

That spell checker is not good either. There was time I depended on it and it nearly ruined my life(my spelling life). That time I cared less of what I would write knowing full well that they would always provide me with the correct spelling. Until I could not spell SHALL(I was wondering about, could it be shaa or shal)
you know there are some spell checkers that can save new words that are not on your dictionary, so if you save a new word it will always show when you type the first letter. So I'll say maybe it's what you saved
