AdomeNG: PDP CITES CASES OF “INFRACTIONS AND DELIBERATE VIOLATIONS OF THE ELECTORAL LAW AND GUIDELINES”, SUBMIT PROTEST LETTER TO INEC, THE WHITE HOUSE AND THE UN
The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, today submits a protest letter to the Chairman of INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, over cases of infractions and deliberate violations of the electoral law and guidelines, Afrilens News reports.
In a tweet on its official tweeter handle, the Party listed a seven point case for the INEC chairman to review, whilst it also copied the White House, the United Nations and the United Kingdom PM, Ms. Theresa May.
The seven cases listed on the protest letter are:
1. “The non-usage or selective enforcement of the Smart Card Reader (SCR) machines across the country.”
2. “The deliberate non-deployment of the Electronic Collation System (E-collation) for the results from the units through the ward centers to the Presidential Collation Center in Abuja.”
3. “The unconstitutional deployment of the Armed Forces especially soldiers and Police”
4. Bringing to INEC Chairman’s knowledge “that most of the collation center in the country were cordoned off by officers and men of the armed forces who chased away accredited agents and/or candidates of the party”.
5. “Results of duly conducted elections were illegally cancelled especially in the PDP dominated areas to reduce the margin of victory in those states in favour of APC candidates”.
6. That “the commission does not know the number of polling units where elections were cancelled and the total number of registered voters at such polling units”.
7. That “under your watch as Chairman of INEC for the first time in our nation’s history, the election materials of all categories; sensitive and non-sensitive, were contracted to be printed by a person who is not just a card-carrying member of a political party; the APC but also a senatorial candidate of the party in Niger State”.
According to the tweet, in areas like Lagos, Rivers, Nassarawa, Abia, Benue, Plateau, Ondo, Osun states, and some other states, results of duly conducted elections were illegally cancelled to reduce the margin of victory in favour of APC candidates.
Earlier today, Afrilens News reported that PDP leaders led a protest march on the outcome of the February 23rd Presidential election which brought the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC as the victor in the polls keenly contested between the two major parties, which the candidate of the PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is yet to concede defeat and threatens legal action to “win the mandate of the people”.

akinhanger: The Presidential Support Committee (PSC), Southeast Zone, has given the Adams Oshiomhole-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) a 48-hour ultimatum to rescind the suspension of Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha.
The committee, at a news conference jointly addressed by the Director of Inter-Party Affairs Robert Ngwu, National Legal Adviser Ejikeme Ugwu and Director of Political Matters, Comrade Maxwel Okoye, in Owerri, noted that suspending a key stakeholder like Okorocha “did not speak well of the NWC and Oshiomhole”.
The group consequently threatened to embark on legal and mass action if the NWC did not repeal the suspension.
The committee also made a case for zoning of the Senate Presidency to the Southeast in view of the support given to President Muhammadu Buhari.
It noted that “the suspension is an orchestrated agenda to deny the Igbo presidency in 2023, knowing that Okorocha is one of the major contenders”.
They said: “Okorocha’s suspension came to us as a shock. There is no way a cabal can suspend a major financier of the party. We give the NWC and the National Chairman 48 hours to reverse the suspension or we will resort to legal and mass action against APC leadership.
“The suspension is aimed at disorganising Igbo ahead of 2023. Oshiomhole cannot wake up and suspend a major financier of the party. We plead with Buhari not to allow some few individuals rubbish his friends because we know that Okorocha is a good friend of the President.”

vegafbs: https://nextedition.com.ng/2019/03/05/stop-attacking-buhari-take-rest-82-alake-advises-obasanjo/
The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Aremu Gbadebo, on Tuesday advised former President Olusegun Obasanjo to desist from his ceaseless attacks on President Muhammadu Buhari.
Alake gave the advice in his goodwill message to mark the 82nd birthday anniversary of Obasanjo at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta.
Gbadebo, who noted that Obasanjo had been ‘‘a warrior’’ all his life, urged him to rest, fight less and rather take a position of a consultant at his new age.
‘‘At 82 years, I think you should keep your sword more rather than use it always,’’ he said.
The Alake, who served as a military officer during the military administration of Muhammadu Buhari between 1984 and 1985, said he had always told Obasanjo to leave his boss (Buhari) alone.
Obasanjo, who responded to goodwill messages from friends, family members and well wishers at the programme, responded by saying that the issues between him and Buhari were not personal.
According to the elder statesman, governance is not a family affair, adding that democracy involves criticisms and consideration of all sides to an issue.
‘‘There is nothing personal between President Buhari and I.
‘‘In a democracy, you can criticise a policy, a government or a leader because democracy is not a family affair.
‘‘If it is my brother that is occupying the leadership role and he is not doing what I believe he should do, he must be criticised and that is what democracy is all about.
‘‘I have been in that position longer than any Nigerian will ever be there.
‘‘So if I say anybody in government in Nigeria is not doing well, let that government prove that it is doing well,’’ he said.
Earlier, former Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of South Africa, Mr. Mangosuthu Buthelezi, delivered a lecture entitled: ‘‘Colonialism, Apartheid, Freedom and South Africa Rising.’’
Buthelezi, in the lecture, identified corruption as the biggest challenge facing the African continent.
He expressed concern that South Africa currently ranked so poorly on the Corruption Perceptions Index of the Transparency International.
The former South-African Minister attributed the development to ‘‘the mistakes we have made, allowing resources to be consumed by greed and abuse.’’
Buthelezi, who noted that only six countries in the African Union had ranked above 50 on the corruption index, stressed that ‘‘corruption is pervasive throughout the region.
‘‘This is difficult to hear and perhaps, it stirs our anger. We must, however, accept the facts and fix them.
‘‘When we consider countries like Seychelles and Botswana who have become paragons of excellence, we need to ask what they did to achieve this.
‘‘We know that Botswana, for instance, reinforced its legal and institutional frameworks and made resources available specifically to fight corruption.
‘‘There are measures we can take and we must take them.
“If we can overcome these challenges in Africa, we will open the possibilities for growth, development and social justice that were the dreams of my generation,’’ he said. . Kabiyesi oooo Please leave Obasanjo. He is not different from other Nigerians on Nairaland...citizens of Nigeria... Politics › Re: Falana Predicts What Will Happen In Atiku’s Court Case Against Buhari by ejimatic: 6:16am On Mar 06, 2019 |
Esseite: Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), has predicted that Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the February 23 election, will face “insurmountable legal obstacles” at the Presidential Election Petition’s Tribunal.
Falana in a statement on Tuesday, however, warned that Atiku should not be blackmailed not to take the legal step, adding that the calls prevailing on him not to approach the tribunal were uncalled for.
He recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari who was declared the winner of the February 23 election, had challenged his losses in court in the successive presidential elections of 2003, 2007 and 2011.
Falana, however, stated that the failure of successive administrations to reform the electoral process, had created insurmountable legal obstacles for election petitioners.
“The campaign that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar should not seek redress is totally uncalled for.
“Aggrieved by the general elections of 2003, 2007 and 2011 conducted by INEC, Candidate Muhammadu Buhari sought redress in court.
“The chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomole and other APC leaders have had cause to claim their mandate through the court.
“Even some APC members who lost the just-concluded National Assembly elections have announced plans to challenge the return of their opponents by INEC.
“Therefore, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar should not be blackmailed or begged by any group of people not to challenge the presidential election held in the country on February 23, 2019.
“Regrettably, however, the failure of the PDP and APC-led Federal Government to reform the electoral process has created insurmountable legal obstacles for election petitioners,” he said.
Falana added that “the frustration of election petitioners has been compounded by several judicial authorities”, with some decisions holding that “an election cannot be questioned on grounds of corrupt practices.
“For instance, a petitioner is required to prove that there is substantial non-compliance and that the non-compliance has substantially affected the results of the election.
“In Yussuf v Obasanjo, it was held that an election cannot be questioned on grounds of corrupt practices.
“In Falae v Obasanjo it was held that it has to be proved that financial inducement was authorised by the winner of an election.
“In Buhari v Obasanjo it was held that the onus of proving electoral malpractice rests on the petitioner.
“Several fraudulent elections have been upheld under the doctrine of substantial compliance.
“In several cases, winners of fraudulent elections that were annulled were allowed to take part in rerun elections ordered by the courts.”
http://dailypost.ng/2019/03/05/falana-predicts-will-happen-atikus-court-case-buhari/amp/ . Falana is right in his conclusion. Judicial precedences determine the outcome of a case. They are cited by the lawyers to buttress their arguments. Atiku has a right to go to court but it is another exercise in futility. |

Good afternoon. I have some good news. The new Abuja International Airport terminal is...mind blowing! As we alighted from the aircraft into the glass tunnel, you know that smell that usually hits you when you land in Nigeria? It wasn’t there. The AC in the tunnel worked. Thread.
It’s real, guys. This is Naija. I had arrived on Ethiopian Airlines with my work colleague, Duke, who is visiting Nigeria for the first time ever. Duke said “Wow! Now this is an airport!” We had come in from the dreadful Addis Ababa Bole Airport.
I just said “Yeah.”I didn’t feel the need to tell Duke it was new...until he asked. Boarding gates were spacious and nicely laid out. Comfortable waiting areas. Very clear signage everywhere. Yep! I checked: The clock displayed the right time. I was proud.
Yep! The automatic thermo-imaging machines work. This young man triggered a red image and was immediately pulled to one side.Toilets were clean and had toilet rolls in them. No pit latrines here unlike Idu Train Terminal. The wash basins were clean. Trust me nau, I tried the automatic soap dispenser. It worked.Immigration was a joyful experience.
I said “Good afternoon” to the pretty immigration officer and she said “Good afternoon, Sir. Welcome back home.” She stamped me in and said “Next!” That was it. The queue for Nigerians moved much faster than that of foreigners. As it should! You take your own trolley. No porters here. I counted 5 conveyor belts. I think they could have spread out each belt a bit more, but it was okay. Our luggage was out exactly 20 minutes after we touched down! That’s disembarking, clearing immigration, trolley & then luggage.
Wow!Then we were stopped by Customs! One stopped me and one stopped my friend Duke and asked what was in our bags. I said “I have brought him to Nigeria for the very first time.” They asked me “Oh, is he with you? I said “Yes.” They said “Ok you can go.”I was a bit miffed that they didn’t say “Welcome to Nigeria” to Duke.
Anyway, this sign made me feel better. That I could see a sign to the Metro from a Nigerian airport? Great! Yes, we should worry about maintenance. For me, I’ll just enjoy it today and be proud! Thanks!! End.

ahmedkoded95: President Muhammadu Buhari says only those with integrity and interest of Nigeria will be considered in the next cabinet.
He also promised to appoint more women and youth during his second tenure, acknowledging the “significant role” they played toward his re-election.
He said his administration would not disappoint them.
Buhari spoke at a dinner the All Progressives Congress (APC) women and youth organised to celebrate his re-election, on Saturday.
He said more fertilizers were being made available to Nigerian farmers at a lower rate, adding that this has resulted in an increase in agricultural production and reduction in food importation.
Buhari also called on Nigerian youth to embrace agriculture to ensure more food sufficiency and food export.
He again faulted the 16-year rule of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which he said, “wasted the nation’s resources”.
According to him, the country witnessed “rampant infrastructure decay” in spite of the huge resources earned during the period.

2016 was the key year for me. All my applications that hitherto got zero replies began to get replies. I initially got N-Power but I told God this was just a temporary job for only 2 years and that he must give me a permanent job before the expiration of the 2 years contract.
So it was. I applied for the FCSC job opening that same year, in 2017, I was invited to come to Abuja for interview, I've never been to Abuja before, many friends discouraged me, telling me I was just going to waste my transport since I knew no senator or minister or any body in government. But that didn't discourage me. I went.

cyrilamx: Samuel Adesanya
Chief George Moghalu is the National Auditor of the governing All Progresives Congress (APC). A seasoned politician and an administrator, he is one of the party leaders from the south east who fought day and night to ensure that President Muhammadu Buhari gets an appreciable number of votes from the region.
In this interview with Tony Akowe, he speaks on the outcome of the just concluded Presidential election and the need to streamline the large number of political parties in the country.
THE APC again won the Presidential election without a significant contribution from the South East. What went wrong
The truth about it is that we did not achieve our desired expectations. I would have wished that we did alot better than we did in this election even though anybody on the side line would say it is an improvement on the poor outing in 2015. Certainly, we should have done better than we did because the government has been quite responsive to the south east. The President has shown great love and has done so many great and strategic things for us in the south east that should warrant our doing better than we did. But politics is all about what it is and you can never predict. I feel personally disappointed and I am sure that some other leaders also feel disappointed. I really can not access whether it is because our people have not actually understood the political implication because we are trying to seize a platform that we can use to actualise our ambition vis a viz 2023. So, i thought that this election was an opportunity for us to take over the platform and move in aggressively and take over the platform. But probably it was because one of us was given the Vice Presidential ticket of the other party or whatever. I really cant explain what went wrong. But I think it was not a good political move for us. But I believe very strongly that with time, it will continue to improve. We, as leaders of the party from the south east have an added responsibility to work harder to get our people to understand.
What do you think that the re-election of President Buhari mean for Nigerians?
For me, it is a reaffirmation and an expression of confidence. It is like telling somebody, you have done well and it places greater challenge. If you listen to the speech of the President when he received his certificate of return, it will show you a man that understand the added responsibility this re-election has given to him, it show you a man who has really dedicated himself to doing better than he has done. He has done quite well especially when you look at all the promises we made when we were coming in in 2015 as a party coming into government. Even at that, he has done extremely well and he believe also that with this re-election, Nigerians have said thank you for what you have done, but we expect you to do more. It is about Nigeria and not about him. So, it is a very welcome development. Its a wonderful thing that has happened and I know since this has happened, our party and government will still do more to justify the confidence of the Nigerian people.
There are those who believe that they worked for they worked for the party in 2015 and were not rewarded. Many of them have made more sacrifice, expecting thing to be better. What is your message to them?
Let us all be patient. Mr. President has said that things will be better and we also have a national chairman we believe that there should be a way of appreciating those who work for you as a way of encouraging them. He believe that doing so will also encourage others to know that loyalty pays, hard work pays and commitment also pays. I am sure that these set of people will not be forgotten this time around.
There is the believe that the position of the President on the leadership of the National Assembly was a tactical error that hunted the government so much. How will the party handle this issue this time around?
I am sure that the party has a role to play. All these people coming for the first time and those who got re-elected contested on the party platform. So, there is a canopy under which everybody is sitting and that canopy is the party. I am sure that with the dynamic leadership we have now, headed by Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, the party will do what it is supposed to do. Once that is done, I am sure we will not have any problem. I am sure that all those elected believe in party supremacy and the fact tat the party has a role to play because it is the party that was elected. All the candidates are representatives of the party and i am sure they will subject themselves to the decisions of the party.
The opposition PDP said this election was a sham and their Presidential candidate said he was challenging the outcome at the tribunal. What is your view.
For me, every election must have only one winner and in this case, Buhari is the winner. Don’t forget that before Buhari was elected President, he lost election on three occasion and in all these three instances, he felt that a few things went wrong and he sought protection in the court. This is his right and he exercised it. If the PDP candidate has evidence of things he felt were not properly done, he has a right to either say this is the will of God, let us move on as a nation because Nigeria comes first before my ambition or I will go to court to prove my case. The two options are open to him. It is for him now to make his own choice. I am yet to see that election that would have been concluded and the loser comes out to say this is a wonderful election, except for our experience in 2015 when former President Jonathan conceded even before the final results were announced. For me, the election was not a sham, but a highly contested election and everybody knows that. Don’t forget that the President travelled to the 36 states of this country including the FCT. I don’t know whether the leadership of the other party did what we did by way of campaign. I understand how he felt. I have lost election before, so, I understand the feelings of the candidate of the PDP. My suggestion would have been, yes it has happened and the best thing to do is to congratulate the winner. If they don’t want to do that, they have a right to go to court to seek redress. As for the election, it was one of the freest and fairest in this country.
Considering the massive crowd that we saw at the campaign rallies of both parties, would you say the voter turnout was impressive?
The voter turn out was quite impressive because at the end of the day, we are looking at a voter turn out of about 28 million which i quite a huge number even though it did not meet up with our registered population. But you wont lose sight of the fact that we still need to continue voter education. Election is not a one off thing. Right now, notice has been given for the 2023 election because once you declare the result of a Presidential election, you have given notice of the next one. It require all of us, both the political players and the electoral umpires going back to the books to find out what we must do to encourage more voter turn out and what we must do to let our people know the importance of our PVC. As we get more people educated and politically aware, the volume will keep increasing. So, we need to sustain voter education. Like in our party, we are looking at doing things beyond the election, turning the party into an institution and not only just for election. We should have other roles to play and not only as a platform for contesting elections. We should go beyond that. Within this period that notice has been given, we need to keep up voter education and increase membership. If you look at the percentage of membership of the political parties, it is usually less than 20 percent of the population. Why cant we ensure that over 60 percent of registered voters in the country are members of our parties. So, we have alot of work to do. While we are doing that, INEC also have alot of work to do to perfect these card readers, perfect the voters register and other things that will help them so that we don’t start running from pillar to post one week to election trying to do things we would have done when we have time available to us. So, I think we need to sustain voter education and keep encouraging people to be part of the electoral process.
How would you rate the performance of INEC and the security agents in this election.
For me, there is quite an improvement from what happened in 2015 irrespective of the fact that INEC failed us when the postponed the election. But it was better for the election to be postponed than having something that is not worth the while. So, I think there is quite some level of improvement from what was done in 2015 which we all adjudged as reasonably ok compared to previous elections. So, what has happened now is that INEC did their best and we need to encourage them, we need to support them and build that electoral institution so that it wont be a one off thing. So, what we need to do is to support and encourage them and then address the areas of lapses critically. For example, the challenges of the card reader has continued to reoccur. We need to address that issue once and for all and get over with it. On the issue of the security, I think they did quite well despite the challenges. As we talk about voter education, you should understand that those who run he security agencies are also Nigerians and are entitled to good representation and good leadership. When people talk about security agencies, they speak as if they are come from the moon or as if they don’t buy from the same market. They also need to be part of what is happening and so, voter education and citizen responsibility, they should also be part of it because once you keep educating them, they become part of the system and then understand that there is a way you do policing during the election without military presence. Some people argued that we don’t need the Army to be involved and I said they should be involved to avoid threat to national security. They are not participating in the voting, but provide additional security. From what has been reported, when the Army arrest people, they hand them over to the police because it is the primary responsibility of the police. So, the Army is providing additional security because that is their primary responsibility. I think they did quite well and we need to support them.
We have so may political parties on the ballot and there is this argument that there is the need to streamline the parties and make them stronger. Do you think we should reduce the number of parties?
I think the number is becoming very unwealthy. In this last election, we had 73 political parties that contested the Presidency and some of them came out with very ridiculous scores in country where we have over 80 million registered voters. That goes to show that some people have turned it into a joke. I think we must create the base. For me, if you don’t have representation in the National Assembly, you don’t have a reason to exist as a political party. So, i am of the school of thought that the number is unwealthy and we must create opportunities on how the number can be reasonably reduced. If you notice the trend now, it is going towards a two party system. It is all about APC, PDP while the others re there in number. Some people may be excited being called National Chairman. That may be the basis for their satisfaction and so, you allow that to massage their ego. Other wise I don’t think it is necessary have political parties that year after year, don’t win even a councillor and are still being called political parties. There are some names I saw n screen that I cant even remember if I have seen them before or what they stand for. I think the number is quite high and something need to be done in that regard.

Nwaforj44: Frontline socio-political groups across the country have expressed disappointment on the outcome of last weekend presidential election. In separate interviews with leaders of the groups, they described the poll as a sham.
They had openly showed their bias against the winner of the election, President Muhammadu Buhari when few days to the poll, precisely February 3, they endorsed the candidacy of his rival, Atiku Abubakar.
In its first reaction to the defeat of Atiku despite their backing, the Pan Niger Delta Elders Forum, PANDEF described the outcome of the election as a total disgrace to democracy. According to the Chairman of the Forum, Commodore Idongesit Nkanga (retd), “For PANDEF, the presidential election conducted by the INEC last Saturday where President Muhammadu Buhari was declared winner was nothing but a sham. It’s a total disgrace. It is not an election but a caricature. We are disappointed with INEC. Anybody who praised INEC for that sham is a mediocre, and not only that, such a fellow is also a failure. The presidential election conducted by the INEC is a failure. It is a mockery of democracy.”
While condemning the violence and killings in parts of the country during the election, the Niger Delta leader said both INEC and security agencies could have done better in their handling of the process. “Even look at the high number of deaths that occurred as a result of the election; over 40 Nigerians were reported dead. INEC could have done better. It is unfortunate that INEC behaved as if it was working for the ruling party, APC. Look at the embarrassing way INEC was rolling out figures in the North for APC even in states where insurgency is affecting people’s lives and where people can’t move freely INEC declared millions for APC. Does INEC think Nigerians are fools? Even the election had been condemned by international observers. It is a shame that while INEC was declaring millions for APC in the North, voters in the South were being disenfranchised. In Rivers state alone, over 1 million voters were disenfranchised by INEC using the card reader malfunctioning as an excuse. Voters were also disenfranchised in Lagos. Whereas in the North, INEC dumped the use of card reader in many places and allowed people to vote manually. It is obvious from this election that INEC, and APC didn’t want the will of the people to prevail. But what they don’t know is that the voice of the people is the voice of God, and they can’t fight God”, he alleged.
The PANDEF leader accused the electoral umpire of working hand in hand with the ruling party and security agencies to twist the actual result of the poll. His words, “INEC didn’t release the real result of the election which reflect the true will of Nigerians, but INEC officials just wrote figures that pleased them especially in the North. It is sad that security officials including the military, police, and INEC officials became agents of APC during the election. This is a big shame, and those behind this national disgrace should cover their faces in shame. With this election, APC is turning Nigeria into a banana republic. It was the cabal operating in Aso Rock that conducted last Saturday presidential election, and not the INEC. INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu owes Nigerians an apology over this sham.
“It is also very sad that excessive use of force was unleashed on Nigerians during the election. Things were also made worse by President Muhammadu Buhari’s shoot at sight order.”
He urged President Buhari to be magnanimous in victory and treat all Nigerians as equal. According to him, “My advice to Buhari is that he should remember that he is supposed to play the role of father to all Nigerians. He is not expected to be parochial but his action and utterances show that he is only for nobody else but APC. Buhari should try to show the attributes of a statesman.”
On how PANDEF will relate with President Buhari for another four years, Nkanga said “we have nothing personal against him. What PANDEF has always been asking for is equity and justice for all Nigerians. We will also continue to support the calls for restructuring of Nigeria even though Buhari’s body language clearly shows that he is not keen about it. But the bitter truth is this whether Buhari likes it or not there is no alternative to restructuring if we want a country where justice and equity prevails. It is most unfortunate that Buhari has not deemed it fit to fulfill or implement not even one out of the 16 point agenda presented to him by PANDEF on behalf of the people of Niger-Delta since over two years ago.”
For pan-Yoruba group, “The election was a coup d’état against Nigerians. The result of the presidential election declared by INEC is like passing death sentence on Nigerians. That was not an election, it was conspiracy against Nigerians. It was a conspiracy between INEC, security agencies, and APC to foist Buhari on Nigerians. It is a sad day in the annals of Nigeria’s democracy. Those who hatched this evil plot should cover their faces in shame. But one thing these conspirators or saboteurs of Nigeria’s democracy should realize is that nothing good will come out of their evil plot. Buhari has nothing to offer Nigerians. Although it may take time but eventually the will of the people will prevail.
What APC and INEC have done is a rape on democracy, a mockery. It is a joke taken too far. The presidential election on Saturday and the result declared is like another June 12, a situation where the will of the people has been subverted by a clique. The battle to get justice may be prolonged but surely INEC and APC will not be allowed to go away with the injustice they ‘ve unleashed on Nigerians.”
On what is next for the group, Odumakin said “Afenifere will continue to speak out against injustice. We will continue to call for restructuring of Nigeria. Buhari is opposed to restructuring but Afenifere will continue to demand for it because that is the only way to build a Nigeria envisioned by the nation’s founding fathers.”
Leader of Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, Ahmed Yerima also believed the outcome of the poll does not reflect the true wishes of the people. His words,
“It is clear and obvious that Buhari and APC rigged the election. INEC manipulated the polls to suit Buhari and APC. The election clearly showed that INEC is only independent by name but there is nothing independent about INEC. INEC has failed, and millions of Nigerians are disappointed. Buhari is gradually turning Nigeria into a fascist state where all agencies and institutions are now under his control, and he dictate whatever he wants to them and they must obey. Look at all of them now, INEC, the military, the Police, EFCC, all of them are now under Buhari. Dictatorship is looming in Nigeria. With Buhari being declared by INEC as the winner when everything pointed to the contrary connotes danger for Nigeria. We are all going to suffer the consequences of INEC’s action. The election was a big disappointment. For the INEC Chairman, he will reap what he had sowed. Nemesis will catch up with him. INEC Chairman Prof. Yakubu is a total failure. There is law of Karma, a man will not go unpunished for his sins, Yakubu will surely answer for his crime against Nigerians. My advice to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is that he should not let go .He should seek legal redress by challenging Buhari in court.”
For Brig. Gen. Idada Ikpomwen [retd], a prominent voice from the Niger Delta and former Provost Marshall ,Nigerian Army, the outcome of the poll was far from expectation.
According to him, “I honestly don’t think the result of the presidential election reflect the mood of the country. I don’t believe INEC has discharged its duty as it ought to have done. Even in my own ward in Edo state I observed several lapses. There was complete absence of armed mobile policemen in my polling unit. Even though I have always voiced my opposition against the deployment of military men for election duty but on that day there was no security presence in my unit at all, and armed policemen were supposed to be on stand by.
“I’m surprised by the wide margin between Buhari and Atiku. I believe the result hardly reflect the mood of the nation unless we are not being sincere. It is unfortunate that buying of votes held sway during the election. I have reliable sources outside Edo state that confirmed that a lot of money passed hands .It is most unfortunate that votes buying reared its head across the country. I’m equally aware that some reputable international organizations also made observations that the level of interference with votes at collation centers was unacceptable. Even the African Union, AU, said and I read it clearly that INEC didn’t perform or live up to accepted standards.
“From the way I see the election, there is no way the result will not be challenged. But having said that I congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari on his re-election. Until there is an appeal against him, the result still subsists. We wish him the best but I also urge him to put a lot of transparency into the government he will inaugurate. He should create more love among Nigerians. He should use all the legitimate power available to him to deal with insecurity. He should ensure that the nation’s security architecture is reformed at the earliest possible time. He should also look at how to carry out reforms in the country. Some people refer to this as restructuring. The truth is that if Nigeria is to survive and record progress certain fundamental changes must be carried out. Next time, INEC must do better than they had done. The voting process must improve. Card readers must be made to work.
“On the issue of military being drafted for election duties, I will continue to say it, military has no business with election or routine policing. The constitution has clearly stated where and when the military can be drafted, and this is stated in Section 305 sub-section 3c wherein it was clearly stated that the military should not be deployed for civil responsibility unless there is break down of law and order. Even to do this, the President can’t do it alone, it must be with the consent and approval of the National Assembly. The military is not meant to be seen daily on the streets. They are not to carry out police duties. These are what I know as a military officer, and also as a lawyer. The military should be insulated from politics. Voting ordinarily is not a war but in Nigeria politics is seen a s a do-or-die affair. Any aggrieved party during this election should not resort to self-help but seek legal redress.”

Dotng: Breaking: Atiku presents 6-point demand to Buhari
The Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in last week’s election, Alh. Atiku Abubakar has presented a six-point demand to the federal government . Top on the demand was unfreezing of opposition politicians’ bank accounts.
Another major demanded presented to former Head of State and Chairman of the National Peace Committee, Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar (rtd) was demilitarisarion of sequent polls. Gen. Abubakar led members of the committee to a meeting with Atiku and his running mate, Mr. Peter Obi in Abuja yesterday night. The NPC was expected to meet President Muhammadu Buhari government with the demands . Other demands by Atiku were:
*That accreditation of voters should take place before voting in subsequent elections.
*That there should be no deployment of the military in subsequent elections.
* That INEC should open its back end server to all participating parties.
*That there should be a release of all politicians detained illegally by FG.
A source at the meeting disclosed that Atiku “warned that tensions are building up in the land.” NPC team included Cardinal John Onaiyekan, Bishop Kukah and Rev. Fr Atta Barkindo of the NPC secretariat.
Atiku and his team informed the group that the election of Feb 23 was the worst in 20 years of the return to democratic rule. That it was marked by brazen rigging with no consideration to the will of the people.
They listed the following as the issues they had with the polls:
*Deployment of the military was unconstitutional and in breach of Supreme Court judgement.
*That resultantly, a lot of malpractices between the INEC officers, the ruling party and the military took place to undermine the votes/voters of the PDP.
*That there was collaboration between INEC and FG to undermine the sanctity of the votes of the people.
*That this is the worst election in 20 years. No improvement from 2015.
It was learnt that Gen. Abdusalam and his team pleaded with the PDP flag bearer to avoid anything that could jeopardise the nation’s peaceful co-existence.
https://www.vanguardngr.com/2019/03/breaking-atku-presents-6-point-demand-to-buhari/ . 1Who are the politicians whose accounts were frozen illegally ? Is it those who stole and shared our money ? It is clear that God is behind Atiku for losing the election. They can never change their conduct with the corruption inspired demands .PMB will not let anybody soil his integrity and his good image. |

egojeny1: What if the phone is stolen @ night how can one get his/her acct blocked immediately? . If your pin of your account is not on your phone it may take some hours before your account is accessed so you can still block the account following day immediately by 8 am . But if the phone is not locked and your pin is on your phone it will be accessed immediately. If your phone is missing at night but you still have your ATM go to your Bank and change your ATM pin immediately.. Following morning block your account. A man was robbed by armed robbers who came with POS and collected his ATMs and all his pins.He gave them at gunpoint.Following day he started running to the branches of the concerned banks and was able to block three accounts out of 4..Before he got to the last bank they had withdrawn 150 000 from the account. After much pressure the bank showed the face of the guy who made the withdrawal. For a rest of mind ,it is better to lose a phone during the day than at night. especially if you dont have ATM with you. Please note that if your ATM is missing but your phone is with you you can change your pin immediately on your phone through your mobile app. |

They have refused to help us , FIRST BANK has refused to help us track down the suspect , please moderators , help this reach the front page , many other individuals should know the level of protection that FIRST BANK provides them , I attached a screenshot and a PDF of the fraud . . Sorry for what happened. When a phone is lost with a mobile bank app on it or is registered with online banking the next thing to do immediately is to go to a nearby bank whose app is on the phone or is used for an online banking and block the account immidiately. No alternative to this. The lazy Nigerians who are fraudsters can use your phone to break into your account. Banks usually don't want to reveal the identity of the the person who illegally withdrew the money unless there is a strong reason for this.1. It is a police case. 2 It is a case of armed robbery. 3 The case affects the bank itself 4. the money is withdrawn through ATM If it is a loss of phone like yours the onus lie on you to report it immediately to show that you have not deliberately compromised your account....It happened to me once and I blocked all my accounts immediately in the nearest branches. Finally if your money is withdrawn through USSD Bank may not be able to help on the identity ..It will be as if you were the person that withdrew it. Finally if you mount pressure on the bank and let the police be involved possibly you may get the identity of the Withdrawer....Please accept my sympathy... God will replenish you . |

The build up to the presidential election that took place on 23 February was overwhelming with supporters of the two major contestants indicating their love for their choices with online voting and likes and shares for them as they desired .Different views were expressed and opinions given on the election As a Nigerian who understands the dynamics of Nigerian politics I postulated as follow. 1.If Atiku and PMB lined up for an election in the North the retired General would defeat Atiku massively. 2. If OBJ spent 8years as the president from the south PMB would spend 8 years from the north.3. Power must shift in 2023 and the South East should team up with the south west for the actualisation of Igbo presidency in 2023. 4. The North would never ever abandon PMB 5.Those pushing Atiku and stage managing acceptability for him would abandon him later for they know he would never win 6. PDP has been tagged with corruption and looting in Nigeria 7 Many Nigerians believe in sincerity and accountability of Buhari. 8. The South west would still give PMB votes needed to complement his victory. 9. The South East would regret their not supporting South west for Igbo presidency in 2023 with this 2019 election. Many Nigerians were happy with what I said but some online gangsters and hooligans who don't understand the dynamics of the Nigerian politics flared up and believed the South East was on a just cause.Every Nigerian is entitled to his opinion. As the election was getting closer the Igbo's were gattering support for Obi while the Yoruba's were also giving tacit support for Osinbajo and the Hausa's were ready to make their son PMB happy. On the day of the election. as early as 2am voters in Kaduna Kaduna and katsina had been on queues for the election while online voters were still sleeping .The Yorubas and Igbo's however came out to fulfill their civic duties. At the end Buhari won while Atiku became a loser once again. All those who were pushing him Fayose Obasanjo. Saraki Dogara buried their heads in shames. Why did Atiku lose the election? 1. He had been tagged with corruption If PDP had changed its name maybe it would be a different story. It is a party known for corruption and looting and careless spending. It is believed that the party made Nigeria go into recession in 2015 fulfilling Okonjo Eweala prediction on Nigerian economy basterdized by the party. 2.It is believed by many Nigerians that if Atiku OBansajo spent 8 years achieving nothing for Nigeria no hope in economic solution of Atiku Obi combination.3 Atiku compounded his problem by honestjy saying he would spend NNPC.That was what they did in their inglorious 8 years selling Nigeria s property and sharing the money...NItel Osogbo steel rolling. Iwopin mill. Oku Iboku. NEPA etc all sold money shared. It was PMB that has been paying those laid off by force then.If NNPC is sold it would affect notherners whose livelihood hinges on NNPC...4Atiku was relying on those who hold no water and have no influence in Nigeria s politics...Obasanjo Fayose Saraki Ohanese Gbenga Daniels. Galadinma. Fanikayode Omokiri etc are insignificant in the Nigerian politics. 5.Many people still believe in the South west that PMB is a man of honesty who can still be trusted with money unlike Share it people in PDP. 6. The north still believes in PMB more than Atiku .His sincerity and anti corruption are appreciated in the country. Those who hate Buhari are thieves who don't have access to national treasury again but want to come back by all means.7. The PDP is not a well organised party that could defeat he structure of APC with many senators and governors in about 25 states in Nigeria. At this juncture the question is why did PMB win again? The rise and rise of PMB in the recent election is as a result of the following: 1 The northerners love him with passion and are ready to die for him. 2. The north believe that he is not responsible for Bokhaaram attack in the north East. The president even swept into action by assisting the victims in the affected area unlike PDP that was sharing North East intervention fund among themselves during Jonathan's era. 3. Many people in the south west still believe in PMB and that made him win well in three states while the remaining three states still gave APC votes that complemented its victory.4.Akpabio Orj Kalu and others in the south East and south added to the acceptability of PMB and made have significant votes in the regions.5..PMB appears to be a mature president who does not bother about calumny or aspersion cast on his name by some Nigerians especially on the economic condition of the country. He appears to know what he is doing. 6. The population of the north is also an advantage. In the south west and south south we limit the size of our families unlike the north where a woman can have ten children .In my observation the population difference will be there forever. 7.The attitude of the north to voting is remarkable. They woke up as Early as 2 am to line up for the voting exercise when many people in the south were still on bed and when they woke up they went online to chat with their friends. Some don't even have PVC.. What are the winners in the election? 1 PMB .. despite castigation of his name he won the election. 2 APC 3 All Nigerians who believe in a good Nigeria without corruption. 4 The masses who are benefiting from the PMB policies. and hope things would be better. Who are the losers in the election? 1. Atiku Abubakar. His hope dashed again to rule Nigeria.2 PDP. 3. South East I am of the opinion that south east should produce the next president in 2023.This would be possible if the region teamed up with the south west now in 2019.Regrettably south east was following Atiku because of Obi . APC would never ever accept an Igbo candidate in 2023.Are they not losers? What can KANU do for them.? A man that will hear a gunshot and run away .Is that the way Ochukwu fought for the Igbo's?A friend of mine whom I respect so much online said three days ago that he desired South East and south south presidency...I agree with him ..If APC considers South south who will consider south east ..Okorocjha and Kalu spoke vehemently on this to his people did they listen? Will the north support South East or south south? In my opinion South east is taking a step forward and thirty steps backward with their thoughtless decision. to fight alone for recognition.Nigerian politics has gone beyond that .You must show sense of belonging to other regions to rule as president. 4. Obasanjo. ..With this development Politically he is dead in Nigeria.Same goes with Fayose Fanikayode Gbenga Daniels Omokiri and others greedy politicians who want Atiku to come back so as to have access to our treasury again. The rise and rise of PMB is divine with his integrity and anti corruption giving him the credibility to qualify and be voted for. The wanted him dead..He did not die. They said he could not campaign. He did it.He has answers for every doubt and question. Finally I congratulate PMB on his victory and all Nigerians on sustenance of our democracy .I sympathise with those who sustained injuries in any form during the election and the families of those who lost their lives during the election in some violent areas. With this election result Power shift is certain and non negotiable in 2023.The north is aware of this already since it has been our practice in the new Nigeria midwived on 1999. God Bless Nigeria ..... Ejimatic... 27/2/2019 |

With this election result Power shift is certain and non negotiable in 2023.The north is aware of this already since it has been our practice in the new Nigeria midwived in 1999. God Bless Nigeria ..... Ejimatic... 27/2/2019 |
