tomakint: Arrant nonsense, first thing first they came up with a bogus IGR, with the economic potentials of a State like Lagos, a reasonable person would have known that Lagos generates far more than the quoted N20 billion every month! Of course, with the Chief Schemer, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in charge, a figure like this is expected and not forgetting that in the next 35 years, Lagos will continue to pay debt from generations to generations and they will still tell you, 'Eko o ni baje o'! Obviously, with Tinubu still calling the shots in the scheme of things in the State, Lagos don enter 'One Chance'How ironic.. Reasonable people don't make baseless and ignorant proclamations without credible and documented facts to backup their claims, only ignorant and reckless people like you do such. |
Dede1: Igbo do not play second fiddle. You no sabi your history at your old age? ..smh.. |
What a moronic and bigoted article... Abi no be imo people dey dance and joyousing in all the pictures flooding the internet as if den just gain freedom and liberty? I know the pdp clowns are scared, but why get retar.ded about it? |
fratochi: . As an intellectual I feel its pertinent that you try and engage in meaningful constructive and inteligent arguement rather than always seeking for avenues for unprovoked insult and random use of vulgar language: having read through an interesting and intelligent write-up like this (that is if you even read through), one expects you to make efforts at either disputing any of the points he (writer) made or affirming it in an intelligent manner befitting of a young intellectual rather than this your out-pouring of unnecessary invectives . Please go and up-grade.You betrayed your post by labeling this crude and vicious assault on our collective intelligence an interesting and intelligent write up. What's so interesting about manufactured lies and gross deception designed to hide and deceive? |
Prof Corruption: I am not surprised Reno conveniently skipped this monstrous label of disgrace embossed on breastplate of Jonathan's Presidency.Me sef dey scratch my head at the convinemt side stepping.... Useless i.diot.. |
You finally look inside mirror? |
I really need you mods go to be straight with with relevant and realistic rules instead of making up rules on the fly and banning because of personal tribal disposition and sentiments amd even personal tribal insecurities. what is not an insult or slur in our own country shohld never be one on NL or any Nigerian public forum and this is not only annoying, it must stop. This is nothing but reverse tribalism, it makes no sense at least not by supposedly educated people with clear thinking and credible knowledge about their own country and people. Personal tribal feelings and insecurity should be perrosnal and never be moderated. |
gtrust: You don't need to kill if they are unarmed!Where was this rule in the same 66 when unarmed innocent men, women and even pregant women were slaughtered in their sleep by blood thirsty and sadistic killers like nzeogwu? |
Why do you people hate and bark like dogs at everything and everybody all the time? And you wonder why people outside your villages can't stand you and your hating and bigoted existence... |
He said when a similar scenario played out in Boston in the United States, the crime could not be nipped in the bud but took place and that if the two scenarios were placed side by side and given the resources and equipment at the disposal of the Nigeria Police compared to its Boston counterpart, he would cast his lot behind the Nigerian Police for a job well done.Very telling.... |
Just look at the joy and pride on the man's face? He's obviously happy and comfortable with his decision and new political party. Sometimes you have to drop the zeros and get with the HEROES.. I fell so happy for the people of Imo state.. |

Dudu_Negro: rookie,Are you minding the low self esteem and insecure people. How ibo is a slur beats the hell out of me, it's ibo to more than half of your country and even your own leaders use the same ibo name. They are even clueless about their own history.. |
smothly:That negro sure got to ghayyy ways and tendencies... |
Sincere 9gerian: This dumb fool that can only communicate with signs and pictures is here again. Welcome sir/maWhy waste my breath on a programed dullard like you?
|
I·bo (b)I'm not even sure if this person is a Nigeria or he's just grossly ignorant mentally incompetent. Ibo is ibo and this is how millions of Nigerians spell and pronounce it from day one till this very second with no issue or people going to war. You can ban all you want, but juts like tens of millions of Nigerians, ibo is ibo simply not only because this is a genuine qualification, many leaders from that region including ojkwu, Zik and others pronounce and spell ibo. Your silly take on NL is nothing but a reflection of your own low self esteem and personal insecurity... This is what you get when you give power to fickle minded and petty people to pursue tribal and ethnic agendas.. |

Very well written and thoughtful article..... |
percipi1:So the world encyclopedia and the other 5 entities I posted are all anti abuja and ethnocentric against abuja? Dude, you are ridiculous and not making any sense. Unfortunately, you don't have any case to rest, the only thing you are resting is your fact less and ignorant opinion... The only thing I need from you is facts and references qualifying Abuja as the most cosmopolitan place in Nigerian and till you do that, you are spiting nothing but your personal and irrelevant opinion. |
ocelot2006: No. 1 dullard.......[s]yet he's the president. And what about you, oh "wise" one? How did your previous NURTW meeting go?[/s]

Abuja is nothing but a place where Nigerians are forced to go for work period. The Population is less than 1 million and for the inhabitants to socialize freely in a communal and exciting atmosphere, they still have to go to Lagos where everything and everybody congregates. Abuja is a soulless place with just bodies, but no soul and this is why the place empties to Lagos on weekends and holidays. Lagos is not only Nigeria's melting pot and the most populous state, it's the seat of everything that binds us together from arts to entertainment and other social and lifestyle affiliations like food, fashion, music, media, films. There are more Nigerians and international concentration in Lagos participating in day to day activities than the entire population of Abuja 10 x over. Lagos is the only place in Nigeria with dedicated communities of every ethnic or tribal groups in Nigeria and Abuja is a faint shadow of what Lagos represent as a major cosmopolitan city in the whole of west Africa... |
percipi1: [s]Its clear that you don't get it. You may quote more food websites and entries in any international journal, that will not muzzle the debate on this issue. Would you care to know that the entries in your Infallible Encyclopaedia relied on books published between 1960 to 1994 to arrived the conclusion you are sweating all about. This is 2013, 19 years after that entry was made. Are you now telling me to rely on an information that was updated 19 years ago? On the strength of this argument, the referred Encyclopaedia entry was outdated and cannot be relied upon regarding its conclusion that Lagos was the most cosmopolitan city in Nigeria.I've given you 4 references and links declaring Lagos state as the most cosmopolitan in Nigeria and you are yet to show me anything referencing Abuja as such beyond your ignorant NL based opinion which means nothing to me.... lol @ intelligence analysis. I'll take documented facts and analysis a million times before even paying you and your ignorant NL opinion any attention... |
percipi1: It is intellectually apppalling to expect scholars to rely on the authority of an Abuja food website. Also your reliance on the authority of the world Encyclopedia is debatable as you have failed to provide the edition referred to.Lagos not only reflects the status of the most cosmopolitan city in Nigeria and west Africa, it's broadly documented locally and internationally as one. World encyclopedia is a source of global knowledge so denying it's content shows how low and ignorant many of you are. Also, what is intellectually appalling is you substituting known and documented facts with your own disjointed and bogus ignorant opinion. The world encyclopedia and Abuja Food didn't just do abracadabra and magically pronounced Lagos as the most cosmopolitan city in Nigeria and for every ignorant post I get, I'll post another link declaring Lagos as the most cosmopolitan city in Nigeria while with all your ignorant assertions, you and other deniers are yet to show any publication or reference declaring Abuja as one... Here is another reference... Lagos City aka Centre of Excellence is Nigeria's economic/financial, entertainment and technology capital, it is also Nigeria's most cosmopolitan city and about Africa's most populated with about 18 million people by a 2008 UNDP figure. It is a city filled with enterprising and very intelligent people and businesses, it is one of the most exciting and unforgettable places to visit in Africa |
oyb: he is waiting for apc to visit

BarryX: Baba! A Fact is the Truth or the actual existence of something, as opposed to supposition of something; Reality; Let us not get sentimental about this , Lagos is cosmopolitan no doubt but from the prevailing definition and analysis so far reeled out. Abuja walloped Lagos maybe by a hat-trick or something. Abuja it is then and let us not forget to post this link whenever there's a project or an intellectual argument about Nigerian Most Cosmopolitan city because Nairalanders have done more justice to the topic than most Foreign journal or website could ever do .1. Fact is what I've produced as independent qualifications of Lagos as the most cosmopolitan city in Nigeria, supposition and baseless sentiments is what you and others are peddling... 2. Also, the world encyclopedia and the Abuja food website qualifying Lagos as the most cosmopolitan city in Nigeria are not my sentiments or something that I made up, you on the other hand have nothing but ordinary opinion without any qualifying references to back up your utterances. 3. Your prevailing analysis is nothing but NL mombojombo analysis and I'll go with documented facts and global reference like the world encyclopedia a million times before paying you NL bootlegged analysts any attention.. On top of the 2 independent references I provided, here is another one.... [b]Lagos provides a classical case for studying migrants and the consequences of internal migration. It is the most cosmopolitan city in West Africa with an estimated population of over 10 million persons inhabiting the metropolis alone (not the whole of Lagos State). Lagos is a melting pot and mini-Nigeria. |
Only Eko Atlantic fit give many of these cities a run for their money, too bad its not ready ..... Its just a matter of time.... |
Afam4eva: Dude, it has nothing to do with population. Even a city with 100 people can be more cosmopolita than a city with 1 billion people. So, yank off that. There are more people in lagos from all over Nigeria than the entire population of abuja many times over.... Are you ready to categorically assert with facts that lagos is not the most cosmopolitan city in Nigeria or that Abuja is the most cosmopolitan city in Nigeria?? I'm even daring you to so give it a shot if you can... |
DaLover: So what defines a city as cosmopolitan, because Abuja has everything lagos has, except lagos has a higher population and more commercial, is that ur definition of cosmopolitan? All ethnic groups are well represented in Abuja....what else,Yours is a sad case of inability to read and comprehend. What city is cosmopolitan or not which is cosmopolitan, it's which is the most . If you think abuja is cosmopolitan, fine, that's your opinion, but the keyword here is most... It's even really absurd and ignorant to suggest that a city with less than a million people is more cosmopolitan than a city with 20 million people from every corner of Nigeria. Only on NL you read the dumbest nonsense... |
musiwa25: Eko ile, in a ticket with a North muslim, there is no way a tinubu or fashola can be on that ticket.. because you have christain in nigeria.. are you not nigerian. this is how they do it in nigeria.. APC merger means fashola or tinubu is out of the race for president, if they are given the north the president..Musiwa for presido.. |
DaLover: I really don't know why we are trying to turn logic on its head, can an Igbo man or edo man become governor of lagos, in Abuja, anybody can go for any elective post...weather it is legislated or at gun point, everybody feels they have equal stake in Abuja, don't forget that Laos enjoyed the same legislative cosmopolitanism as you u it for many years. The definition of cosmopolitan has nothing to do with who can be this or that so find something else to talk about.... |
percipi1: I will suggest that we start by trying to understand the meaning of the word Cosmopolitan. cos•mo•pol•i•tan (ˌkɒz məˈpɒl ɪ tn)I'm really not interested in your personally formulated prejudicial opinion though warped. I've shown you 2 factual references qualifying Lagos as the most cosmopolitan city in Nigerians and even one from Abuja, but you are yet to show me one qualifying Abuja as anything so all you have is baseless air talk with no facts.... |
Nigeria’s most cosmopolitan city takes advantage of the sophistication of the host state. Lagos- the so called center of excellence.Eevn Abuja exparts gave the bill to Lagos... |
