Warri did not get screwed. Capital or no capital WARRI is still the oga in Delta state.

abeg focus on ekiti. you are not a Delta state native so let us handle our differences ourselves without interferrence from EKiti
Heh. If "native" was the rule for defining what people can comment on, then the NL politics section would have a fraction of the traffic.

I'll follow that rule as soon as I see everyone else following it.

So because you think all groups are armed is why the truth should not be spoken. A question to you, did it not occur to you that Uduaghans mis-rule is why there is s much disquite and dissatisfaction in the state. There is not point in running around scaring people with your careless talk of arms. In your words, maybe an impeached Uduaghan would be the best thing for the state. Good riddance to ashawo congo

PoliticsAbia Indigenisation: Affected Ebonyi Natives Protest Sack by ektbear(op): 9:55pm On Oct 24, 2011
on OCTOBER 24, 2011 · in NEWS

BY PETER OKUTU

ABAKALIKI – Over 80 Ebonyi indigenes recently sacked by Abia State Government, yesterday, staged a peaceful protest at Government House, Abakaliki, to press home the need for them to be re-absorbed into their home state’s civil service.

The protesters carried placards with the inscriptions “A Sojourner has a home”; “we have come home for sense of belonging”; “Ebonyi State, salt of the nation, we embrace you”and “East or West, North or South, home is better,” among others.

A protester wielded one of the disengagement letters signed by the Board Secretary, ASUBEB, Umuahia, Chief Emma Igwe, which read: “I am directed to notify you of your disengagement from the service of Abia State Universal Basic Education Board with effect from October 1, 2011. This is due to ongoing re-organization in the service. While appreciating your past services, please accept our best wishes in your future endeavours.”

Spokesman for the group, Mr. Okoro Chibuike Uduma, pointed out that the reason they were disengaged was the fact that Governor Thoedore Orji of Abia State wanted to implement the payment of the new minimum wage for only indigenes of Abia State.

He said: “We are public servants from Abia State. The governor of Abia State said we have to come back to our state to enable him pay the new minimum wage. Before we knew it, we were disengaged and that’s why we are here so that we can be reabsorbed into Ebonyi State civil service.

“Since the Ebonyi Government said it is a rumour and that they have not received any official letter from Abia State Government, we are here to tell you people that it is not a rumour; it is real, we have been disengaged because Abia State government wants to pay 18,000 minimum wage to its indigenes.”

Nah over the course of a week she could easily do 40.

That is only 8 per day (ignoring weekends.) 4 miles each way.

If she lives in a fairly flat area with good bike lanes and such, then there is no reason not to do the 4 miles. At 15 MPH, that is just 16 minutes of biking each way.

PoliticsRe: Colonel Gadhaffi Vs Colonel Ojukwu:who Got Balls Of Steel?who Was The Real Man? by ektbear: 10:52am On Oct 24, 2011
Let's let sleeping dogs lie.

No need to insult anyone's god (figuratively speaking), whether you think highly of said god or not.

Anyway all this Ojukwu stuff isn't going to butter anyone's bread in 2011, so nothing gained by insulting or praising him. So let's just leave it be.

I was impressed lipsrsealed
Black men even worship and revere their goddesses, and yet you feel black women are the most abused?

My great-granddad worship Shango and Oya ( beautiful black  goddess) and yet you feel black men treat you like shet?

The imported religion ( Islam and Christianity) that your 'ultimate alpha white men and Arabs' brought to us, I ask you, how many of their texts represents woman as goddesses or people of importance?

If a black man can't take care of his family or walks out on his family, he would be called to order ( by members of his extended family). If your so- called 'good Caucasian man' walks away from his family, the society is so messed up that no one gives a fucck,

Yet 1 ignoromous is here calling a society black men have created for Millennia to look after our affairs ( including that of our wives) rubbish and abusive.

I swear, black women have always had it so nice in black societies and are still having it nicely. You lots, Merge, Inked, and Linda are just ungrateful lots,   undecided undecided undecided undecided .
Hmmm!

Now this is a pretty damn good argument.

Let's see if anyone can debunk it.

Very interesting! Lots of good stuff.

I liked this a lot, though it wasn't the main point:
The current economic weakness of Europe and America is also your opportunity. There is not going to be any growth inEurope or the US – while China and India and Brazil are dependent to an extent on Europe and the US for their growth. So where will investment money flow now? The choice is Africa or gold bars. And Nigeria is the big one. Lagos itself would be the fourth largest economy in Africa if it was an independent state – and it has no oil. Lucky Lagos.

PoliticsRe: Protesting Lasu Students Barricade Lagos-badagry Expressway! by ektbear: 3:34am On Oct 23, 2011
Lol.

I like to think of myself as a well-rounded person, with broad interests.

I like economics, public policy, business, philosophy, even a bit of history and sociology.

But that I like those things doesn't mean that society should subsidize them. You feel me? I don't believe that your typical student from those fields is as worthy of being subsidized as your typical student of certain other fields (obviously though, typical != best. Your top economics, PP, business, philosophy, history, sociology students are damn good at what they do and are worthy of attention.)

If you want to study those things, pay (or borrow) your own way, in my opinion.

Anyway, I guess we'll agree to disagree.

But I think we can all agree that the bottom 20% or 30% of college students, there is absolutely no real reason for the state to be spending money educating them. They don't really belong in college anyways.
