ziccoit:Yes. If you want to eliminate scarcity, PHCN has to be able to charge at a minimum what it costs to produce the electricity. People generally don't like selling things at a loss ![]() |
^-- Ogun wants to become the Taiwan or Singapore of Africa, it seems. We just need to sort out this power situation. |
a necessary step |
Just a little innocent fun ![]() No harm, no foul |
^-- Criticism is easy to do. Anyone can do that. Coming up with better alternatives? That is difficult. |
Suggest an alternative, then. I am all ears. |
djustice:Perhaps they weren't expecting as much traffic as they got. That is not unreasonable. Going cheap on web development generally leads to crappy results. . . so not terrible that they hired someone abroad to do the gig. Hosting in general should be done abroad; it isn't like you can really host from Nigeria, right? |
I've asked djustice this before, but he has never answered what he would suggest that the ACN be replaced with. Party is not perfect, but is the best of the options available right now, imo |
Fashola baba Despite what some would have you believe (djustice, for example), the ACN is largely a force for good. |
merge:And who told you that? A country that has a GDP of roughly $200 billion or so, yet has 150+ million people. Do you think that is enough money to go around, even if things were shared perfectly? |
I agree with the call for UN, EU, etc involvement in this |
jason123:+100 Basically a return to the 50s, but with 6 regions |
Best bet is to partition Nigeria into its component pieces. We don't all have the same vision in Nigeria. Some seem to prefer wasting their time on useless things rather than trying to solve their very urgent problems. |
HMM Interesting policy. I don't support it, but I find it very interesting how you're sweeping away fundamentals of "rights", but still labels it as rights. "I'm taking away your financial support, but hey you can still go to the grocery store and buy as much food as you want. You still have your rights".
I just don't understand when it became a "right" to burden society. Or when it became your "right" for society to educate your kids. It is a privilege, not a right. |
