This is a much better argument, without the second sentence,
No, the second sentence is important. That the two cities have similar pop density is part of Garth's point.

Ajimobi again:

Increase productivity to justify pay rise, Ajimobi tells Oyo workers

Oyo State governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, on Wednesday, charged civil servants in the state to justify their clamour for the new minimum wage through improved productivity.

Governor Ajimobi gave the charge while speaking with newsmen after an unscheduled visit to some government ministries and parastatals.

Senator Ajimobi expressed dismay at the absence of many of the civil servants at their duty posts by 9:30 in the morning when he completed the inspection as well as the general laxity of the staff, the dilapidated state of infrastructure in the ministries and the lackadaisical attitude of the staff to work.

He also restated the determination of his administration to reposition the civil service as a vehicle to achieve the task of transformation of the state and the restoration of its past glory, adding that it would be difficult to get the cooperation of staff when their work tools were obsolete and dysfunctional.

Ajimobi emphasised the need for the workers to be disciplined and team up with government in the rebuilding of the state, pledging to set an example by reporting early to office and duty.

The governor said his visit was to demonstrate leadership and give staff a new reorientation to work ethics and general attitude to government work.

That's just wasting time. The Israelis will jump at the opportunity for half the price of American and Brits.
I don't think Americans or Brits would charge much if anything. They seem to enjoy hunting fundamentalist Islamic terrorists grin

Wonderful woman.

Comments:
1. I have no opposition to non-interest banking, i have opposition to islamic banking.
2. It is news to me that the Nigerian Ports Authority doesn't remit its revenue to the FG. Customs nko? Very shady.
3. She is right about the stupid CBN banking limit policy. Looks like our suspicions of the incompetent Sanusi were correct.
4. I agree with her on the subsidies.

That was my guess. But I only wanted to speak what I know definitively about and have seen plenty of with my own eyes.

just that in nigeria everyone including a history/sociology graduate wants to earn N100k like the bank tellers and customer service workers
Hehe

Everyone wants to study easy courses but get paid well grin
Politics › Re: Degree Holders Accept Cleaner's Job In Osun by ektbear: 8:35pm On Jul 06, 2011
The same sort of thing happens in north america though too. People will go to college and end up getting work as administrative assistants or secretaries.

While this is a better paying job and more prestigious than working as a cleaner, neither requires a college degree or even community college.

I think we need to focus more in Nigeria on teaching people trades. Too much focus on college is a bad idea, I think

Hehe. Blunt, but probably the best way to handle it. Contract out the work to the Americans and Brits. Nigerian military cannot really be trusted to handle the matter. . . probably infested with Northern Boko Haram sympathizers

Politics › Edo Plans Return Of Schools To Missions by ektbear(op): 8:22pm On Jul 06, 2011
Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole says the state government is considering the possibility of returning schools to missions to ensure that government’s investment in the schools is not left to rot.

Speaking on Wednesday at the foundation-laying of a new model college at the old Pilgrims Baptist College, Ewohinmi, Edo Central, the governor, however, assured that a Memorandum of Understanding would be made to ensure that children of the poor have access to such schools.

Question: why did the government ever take away these mission schools in the first place? And when did this happen? And if you want to make sure children of the poor have access to schools, why not just build new schools rather than confiscating someone else's effort?

Interesting. Which parts of Lagos specifically?

And is this unique to Lagos, or cities on the Atlantic coast in general?

Soon = when?

And how fast will the rail line run? What will be the commute time from Ibadan to Lagos?

If we can turn most of the SW into a suburb of Lagos, that would be a wonderful thing to speed development

Seun is only trying to make sure his site is as popular as possible.

Given that you bad belle folk from the SE love hating on him, Fashola threads get tons of posts. So are perfect candidates for front page.

Stop hating and he'll probably get less attention grin

Two cities.

Both have pop density of 100.

One is 100 square miles, the other is 10 square miles.

It costs $X to do drainage for the latter city. All he is saying is that it should cost $10X to do drainage for the first one.

Stated differently, Lagos is like have 10 Benin Cities all right next to each other.

I'm feeling a little sleepy, but unless I made a big mistake in understanding, then this should make sense.
