@2buff: Clubbing can be fun. And you can meet decent girls there. It really depends on the crowd. It just has to be a relatively upscale loungy type of spot. . . not the typical "get your freak on" sort of club you might go to if you just are trying to get laid  smiley

leave Mr, BrownJay alone; he has no game and is inexperienced and would therefore not know what a wingman is used for.

He is just running his mouth and trying to score points with these NL chicks
Nah he sounds like he knows what he is talking about. At least from the posts I've read from him.

Maybe there is a way to juggle two chicks. I'm just not at that level, so I make sure to use a wing man. And if I'm out by myself, I'll just grab some random dude I don't know at the club and use him as a wingman  grin (this requires that the second girl is not hideous though)

are you claiming that people entering clubs should turn off their phones?! shouldnt answer emergencies? shouldnt tell their friends where they are? etc etc etc lol
some of these babes worked DAMN hard to get their BB etc, and you want them NOT to show off with it in the clubs?! where are you from bro?!
No I know what you mean. But there are people (both guys and girls) who'll go the club, sit off in the corner by themselves texting. I'm like, can't you do that ish at home? Why'd you come out if you are going to be texting your friends late at night?

you certainly dont need a wingman but you do need a better ATTITUDE. so let me get this straight. you see two girls sitting down talking, you join them BUT only socialize/talk/entertain ONE of them AND expect the other girl to smile, and be happy?! lol

do whats right!!!! talk/socialize/entertain the BOTH of them until the coast is clear to make a move on your intended target.
It can get really awkward though. You can do that only for so long. At some point, you need to isolate your target to get to know her better. Maybe say some things that probably both chicks should't hear. Plus if you are entertaining both, how do you make the one you don't want disappear when you want to escalate things?

Wing man is pretty damn useful, imo.

These anti-Tinubu folk don't seem to get it. The strategies you are using now (calling him a bastard, felon, etc) are simply a poor tactic if you want to bring him down. They make you look petty and uncouth.

Folks like me who aren't that passionate about him then start wondering, "Hey, why are these folks trying to pull down and slander this dude? What do they have to gain?"

Your best strategy for destroying Tinubu (since that seems to be your goal) is to sponsor some sort of rebellion within the ACN. Break the party unity somehow. Perhaps empower Fashola to somehow lead a coup against Tinubu.

Trying to empower discredited PDP folks? The essentially powerless and uninfluential Tribune newspaper? Probably not going to work out too well.

Hehe. Rude or not, it is what it is. You quite evidently do not understand what the term "indigene" means.

Perhaps best to stick to what you are good at (blowing useless grammar) and avoid speaking about what you don't know.

It is a PDP affair. He can do what he likes. It doesn't concern me. Anything that causes more strife, envy and mayhem within the PDP I root for. May the party grow weaker and more wracked by internal division.

Regarding Aganga personally? If Aganga leaves government, he can always return to his cushy Goldman Sachs job. Somehow I doubt his bank account will suffer any  wink

It is funny the group of people known to have the insatiable knack to claim anybody is rejecting Aganga.
Alright. You decided to go there. Then let me be very, very blunt. Who makes the most noise about indigeneity issues in Nigeria?

Igbos.

Why?

Because most of the places they are from absolutely suck @ss. How many of the Igbos in PHC, Onitsha, Aba, Owerri, Enugu are indigenous to those towns? 90%+ of them are non-indigenes and migrants, yet want to overthrow even the owners of the land.

I remember reading a post someone made about Abia politics, how Ngwa have evidently never held major political power in their own homeland. And rather than anyone feeling bad about this, some non-indigene Igbo dude was mocking them about it!  shocked From governor down to local government chairman, they are powerless in their own homeland.

A relative of mine owns property in PHC. The omo onile's there pretty jealously guard their rights to the land. At first I thought that they behave that way because he is Yoruba, but from what I've later learned, they are even harsher to Igbos.

If you don't like indigeneity laws in Nigeria, then seek to have the constitution changed to have the distinction abolished.

An even better idea is to try to understand why they make sense.

Being born, raised, and residing in a state is NOT being an indigene of that state. That isn't the definition in Nigeria, or anywhere else in the world (to my knowledge.)

Do you even know what the word indigene means? Dede1, you post very s.tupid things sometimes.

EDIT: Not to mention that Aganga wasn't born in Lagos and arguably wasn't raised there.

@Ekt_bear:
About who happens to colonize and become top dog ; i suppose there are elements of chance and luck in who ends up colonizing who but poll position has nothing to do with luck.

Germany didnt 'really' colonize anyone when africa was being divided up but that has no bearing with their economic state. These people make the best cars . (infact since '89 when the S-class hit).
Right. Germans have always been pretty amazing though.

I have to say that the countries that colonized hugely got trillions of man hours of work that can lift any country but why were we the ones being colonized? ?
Isolation from the rest of the world. Main communication routes from my part of Nigeria to the rest of the world were through the Sahara desert. So that means that innovation and technology takes more time to be transferred. Any new breeds of rice, inventions of weapons, scientific advances, etc, a guy in Poland was able to access almost immediately. While my own ancestors were not, just due to lack of communication and poor transportation.

Do you know that every first world country was a colony at some point but only for a short while but only with AFRICA was it entrenched and sustained for 6 centuries.
Australia, Canada and the US are a bit different than old-world countries like Germany and Italy, no? Pretty obvious why the first group of countries turned out pretty well (I can discuss this, if you like.) And I'm not sure Germany and Italy were ever colonies. . . ?

The initial texts indicate that the main reason was that the whites found the blacks to lack basic intelligence.
this enabled handfuls of whites to control vast huge areas of black primitive settlements.
I dunno. Even if black people are dumber than whites, is the gap so huge that we'll suck forever? Probably not, imo.

Anyway , one doesnt really need books and history to enlighten you of these trends; all you have to do is to sit back and review these things objectively and in detail. the trend will fall out like a ripe fruit.

It is simple:
we dont \cant make things.
We make stuff in Nigeria. Bread, processed food products, clothing (textile industry was destroyed though due to lack of electricity) though, etc.

we cant organise or rule ourselves
Did we get to choose how to rule ourselves, though? Take Nigeria. British wouldn't let Nigeria have independence unless they stuck together as one country. At various times, the three regions wanted to go it alone. Southern Cameroons wanted to go it alone, international community forced them to choose between Nigerian and Cameroon. So if they are not permitted to choose self-determination, then how can you blame them entirely for the failed outcome?

we are the loudest.
Nothing wrong with that

we dont have patience so things like research labs that will find something in 20 yrs is no where in africa except S.A.
Meh. Research shouldn't be high on the priority list until electricity is stable. No point doing biosciences research for example if light going out will ruin your experiments, for example smiley Anyway, I don't that is a dealbreaker. What has Brazil or Austria contributed to the scientific community of late? Can either of those two countries compare even to just the city of Boston, as far as research productivity goes? Yet both are pretty decent countries.

whereever we are existing in communities ,we are the most violent and impoverished even in the largest economies.
we are very show-offish in nature ;even the descendants ones sold as slaves billions of years ago so its not a nigerian thing; its a black thing.
These African descendants didn't come to the new world on luxury yachts  undecided They came as property. As slaves. If I take a rich man's son and enslave him, why do you think his descendants will turn out OK?

And like i said earlier the colour spectrum from one end to the other tends to match decline in EVERYTHING.
do you honestly believe its a coincidence.
also the fact that of all races ,we look most like monkeys. you can have a look at villagers if in doubt.
Pseudo-science and psychobabble.

I doubt there is a connection between melanin levels and intelligence.

EDIT: Just to be clear, there is this area of Edo State called Akoko-Edo where the folks have Yoruba names and speak Yoruba language. Kind of a border area, from what I understand. Not everyone who bears a Yoruba name is an indigene of the SW zone.

Politics › Re: What Is The Cause of The Mismanagement of Africa? by ektbear: 11:46am On Jun 17, 2011
Hackney, there are kernels of truth in what you say. But some of it is just psuedo-science and pyschobabble.

Chinese versus Japanese for example. You do realize that before about 1000AD or so, China was more economically prosperous than most of the rest of the world? Japan included?

Read this for example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economic_history_of_China_(pre-1911)

Japanese aren't intrinsically superior to Chinese, imo.

Dark skin correlating with intelligence makes no sense to me. I don't see any scientific reason for why it should be true.

Now, is it possible that blacks are actually dumber than other races (in an average IQ sense)? Yes, of course it is possible. But even if that is the case, we are still underperforming dramatically. . . I don't think any hypothetical IQ difference would explain the dramatic difference in economic productivity and prosperity.

BTW, I'm not at all convinced that Africa is doomed, or will be inferior forever. If the Chinese had discovered and colonized the new world before the white man did, he'd have been top dog since 1500 or so and white man would have never been #1.

Life sometimes is about random lucky opportunities and making the most of them. For all we know, something might happen in the next 500 or 1000 years that gives a well-managed African country the chance to become top dog.

The migration route of early African Ancestors was from the south, went north, east and then west.
What? Any reference to this?

i.e Yoruba language is presumed to have separated from related ethno-linguistic groups like Igala, Igbo, and Edo but yet they are more if u include territories in the benin and togo e.t.c.
Yoruba and Igala I guess are both descended from some common language. And according to the Igala, Yoruba are descended from proto-Igala groups that migrated westwards (seems kind of plausible to me.) But as for the rest of linguistic/ethnic connections, I'm not sure there is anything really documented (except for the Benin Oduduwa thing.)
