betcindy: i bought eti during their i.p.o and later last two years the stock was delisted from my portfolio, which my broker was unable to give account of it.anybody with assistance of how to go about the recovery should pls help This is why it is good to register with CSCS online so that you can better monitor your portfolio. It will cost just N2,500 per year for an individual account. If you already have a CSCS online, check the list of stocks you have in there. If you can't find your ETI it means it has been sold by your broker. |

DeRuggedProf: Is ACCESS bank a good buy again considering their impending N100B capital raising? Is this not the case of Diamond bank in the making? I need critical views on this. Will it be better to offload ACCESS now and convert to either GTB or Zenith? Based on the current situation of Naija, the only banking stock I will keep in my LONG TERM portfolio is GTB. |

Raider76: Another disadvantage on inv one easy trade is that you cannot cancel an order once given until market close at 4 pm. If you need to cancel you have to call your accounts officer. This is huge disadvantage which Morgan does not have. Based on what I have heard from customers of Inv one, they must be almost as useless as Meristem. Any trading platform that doesn't allow investors to edit or cancel their orders is a nonsense platform. It is better to move your portfolio to MorganCapital and enjoy what you are paying for. Meristem used to allow orders to be edited but not anymore, and stop loss orders are no longer possible on their platform. |

Penny stocks is the real deal now. And it's safer than the price stock, cos the risks is low. If you invest in penny stocks expect volatility and failure. The risk is actually higher with penny stocks. |

ORAGBON: Pls can you help with step by step guide how to do a dd on a particular company? As @ExLaidback mentioned, DD basically comprises fundamental analysis, technical analysis, and sentimental analysis (if you like) which are basically what you need to be successful in stock investing. If you don't have basic knowledge on these analyses you can use Google to find materials on them. You can start from here: http://www.investopedia.com/articles/stocks/08/due-diligence.asp |

jarkbauer: IS MORGAN NOT GOOD FOR LONG TERM? iyb: if you would be patient enough since its long term i will suggest csls stockbrokers they are about to release their real time trading platform so by the time you want to start trading its up and running but for now they don't have anything like itrade Intendy: very efficient from a reliable source and I've confirmed that with my interaction with them.I'm on my way to also start business with them Thank you my ogas for your suggestions. @jarkbauer, they are good, but I would prefer to have this portfolio with a different broker since I already have an account with Morgan. |

If you buy a stock based on dividend don't forget to keep track of your gains in terms of capital appreciation, and compare it to the amount you would get in dividend if you were to wait till the qualification date. If the dividend is yet to be declared use a projected dividend to make your calculation. If your current capital gain is significantly higher than your projected dividend amount you should know what to do. Also consider the expected drop in price on the ex-dividend date when the company is expected to decrease its market cap by the declared dividend. A lot of traders make money during earning season not from dividends but from capital appreciation realised when dividend is declared. |

DeRuggedProf: Assuming N4 is paid i.e N81/N4 = N20.25....You are paying N20.25 to get a little less than N1.00 considering TAX. You will envy AFRIPRUD like me. we are learning..... 1 million naira will give you 11,614 units of WAPCO. If they pay N3.50 it will translate to N40,649 dividend. The same 1 million naira will get you 305,810 units of AFRIPRUD, and you get N131,498 as dividend on the 43kobo dividend payment. I did not even factor in the interim dividend of 17kobo. I would rather buy expensive Nestle than put my money on WAPCO even if I have to factor in all kinds of fundamentals. |

Born2berich: Yeah, the delay got me wondering because once a company has good results, they will be glad to release it early e.g dangcem, afriprud, UBA (they announced that their result is ready) etc...I believe something is definitely wrong somewhere...i pray am wrong...For fcmb, I believe so too as they need to be transparent to carry investors along but fbnh has been quiet, not good for investment. Even Baba Nestle is yet to release theirs. Extrapolating from their Q3 they should have good FY'15 report. I am hoping the delay is due to other factors. |

Born2berich: Oga elai, welcome back oooo...Oya let's discuss...What do you think is causing the delay in GTB and zenith result? Also, do you think banking stocks like fcmb and fbhn are going to get out of this bad debt mess? I don't think I have seen your post on this issue hence my questions No be you talk say whenever there is delay like this we need to run for our lives . IMO I think it has to do with impairment losses on loans. For me, I am watching in 7D just in case. I think FCMB will get out of the mess. They were only trying to be transparent, and as usual, by the time they release the awaited "bad" result, I expect to see the usual NSE/MM magic. As for FBNH, I have no comment because it doesn't look like a stock that has bearing (for now). |
