megainvest: Meritrade new interface is lovely. Very lovely indeed. Though I haven't used the live chat session, having a live chat on their website shows their level of confidence in sustaining their high level of customer service. I wish they could spice it up by making the market overview like iTrade so one can execute a trade by double-clicking on the offer/bid. |

@JIJO traders
Sometimes, it is best to stay away from JIJO if the market does not present opportunities that you can use to your advantage. Taking a lot of risk for very little profit is not a wise decision. Only take risk when the potential reward of the trade looks significant. Always compare the amount of risk to the reward you are likely going to get from any particular trade. |

angrybull: If you buy stocks from XYZ broker, it is very possible to direct DFT broker to help transfer the stocks to your DFT account. The requirements are : * account opening form ( enclose: copy of your international passport, driving license or voters card, two passport, utility bill) * the stock transfer form which you are to fill accordingly and send back to DFT broker along with: * your current and up-to-date CSCS Transaction History * a letter addressed to the Managing Director /CEO, DFT and the Managing Director, CSCS. * banker's confirmation ( from your bank, access bank charges 5K). * bank statement ( three months at least) * past dividend warrants of those stocks in you possession to prove ownership) Lastly, there is need for the client to go to CSCS for his / her biometric ( this is not the requirement but very essential for all investors) Bigass was referring to share transfer, not inter-member transfer which is what you described in the first part of your post. @Bigass, please kindly contact the registrars for the said stocks to get the answer you sought since there are conflicting answers to your post- we were all trying to help. I have had this same issue with First Registrars. I had my signature processed for FBNH shares and have been receiving e-dividends, but I was asked to process one share transfer forms for each of the other stocks even though they were being managed by same First Registrars. I got dividend warrant by post on the other stocks while I received e-dividend payment on FBNH shares. What the registrars told me was that I can only apply the same signature mandate on the same stock. For example, let's say you previously processed a mandate for FBHN and have been receiving e-dividend payment. If you buy additional units of FBNH, you will need to write to the registrars and request that they maintain the same mandate so that you can be receiving e-dividends for the total units of FBNH in one payment instead of processing a new transfer form. |

bigass: Is it possible to buy stocks using for example XYZ stock brokers and Tell DFT stock brokers to help you process transfer forms for the stocks you bought with XYZ stock brokers. Secondly if I have 10 stocks being managed by same registrar, if i have my signature on one of the stocks with the registrar, do i need to process transfer forms for all the rest 9 before i can submit Edividend form. There was a time I asked Meristem if they could process transfer forms or e-dividend (can't remember which) for stocks I bought via another broker but they declined and said they could only do it for stocks I have with them. Yes, you need to process transfer forms for the rest 9 stocks even though they're being managed by same registrar. |

Moneysage: You missed out on the goodies that went with the NL crash between 10th January and 27th June 2014. For example, 2 days ago I searched for a link to free ebooks that Oga Elai147 posted on this thread, I didn't see it. Seems he posted it late January 2014. [Boss, biko, repost that link for your BiTL ] My oga, I can't remember the exact ebooks you referred to. I've tried searching through some of my post and like you mentioned, that particular post may have been lost when NL was hacked. Perhaps the following thread by Stockbull may be of help https://www.nairaland.com/1476501/business-investment-book-directory#18783842 |

angrybull: There is no public holiday today but it seems the fault is from I trade. Hope they resolve it soon.
I noticed this trend here, some people are very reluctant to answer simple questions yet they congregate here to peep and learn. I have posed question here about how one can access daily bid/ offer but no one has answered it till date even though I know that it is very simple question to answer. If you are here but very reluctant to help your brethrens especially when you know you know you have answer then it is very bad of you. You can't learn from others and refused to let others learn from you. It is immorality to the highest order Please let us try and be useful to ourselves. If na woman ask question u go see where BiTL dey answer at a faster rate and the babe go finally get more than one response. If na to shine our teeth e no dey hard us too. Meanwhile, iTrade is now working |

abs4uall2000: I have a cscs account with morgan capital. I was expecting it to reflect in my account but I didn't seer it. bigass: I haven't seen my Bonus too. I called First registrars I was told they are doing it gradually. Its until the registrar send it to cscs before it can reflect in your Morgan account In addition to Bigass post, it is possible for the bonus to reflect in your CSCS online account and not reflect in your brokerage account which is one of the reasons why registering with CSCS online is advisable. |

mercylicious: @ jijo enthusiasts, Please avoid this mistake. When u ji, and want to place order for Jo, plz don't use good till date. You can use other options. I used that good till date and set my exit price. Guys, I cannot edit the price nor delete the the trade. The option is simply not highlighted and cannot be selected. I am patiently waiting for the sale to be executed or for d date I put to reach so DT I can make amendment. In addition, be very careful when using the other platform (not the Live trading platform) to place stop-limit orders. If possible, avoid using that platform as it is not well developed. Your stock may be sold even before it gets to your stop price. Some Morgan staffs don't even know the difference between a stop, limit and a stop-limit order. |

Also that the dividend it is to propose is larger than last year's
Anyone heard anything? any info?? Kinda evident in the bid/offer. Thanks for sharing. Those interested may carry out further consultation with their analog or digital brokers. |

megainvest: This is why I keep watching SEPLAT: I mentioned some time ago I will post a comparison I did between the top priced stocks on NSE. I used easykobo. com comparison tool and I have attached the snapshot. Although easykobo values are not 100% accurate, they can give us a good idea of the stocks as they stand based on fundamentals.
The best part is this: Seplat has a Price / Book Ratio of 0.9. The next to it is FO at 4.12. Most others are around 5 while Nestle is at 16.97! This means that out of the top most expensive stocks on NSE, Seplat is the only one trading at a discount to its book value.
Based on my analysis, I retain my buy recommendation for long term investors who have deep pockets and don't mind small losses in the short term due to the current state of the global oil market. I am still optimistic the oil price will recover or at least become more stable in the coming months. The figures on easykobo.com are based on FY'2013 for most stocks (if not all). As rightly stated by Agbalowomeri, FY'2014 ROE is 9%. The 41% ROE reported on Easykobo is a correct figure but was actually for FY'2013. They had more than a 100% increase in asset base in FY'2014 when compared to FY'2013 but they failed to grow earnings proportionately. This is what led to the sharp decline in ROE from 41% in FY'2013 to 9% in FY'2014. Also, the comparison in your post would be much better using stocks from the same sector or industry. |

passwelle: Sir, I am not sure we are discussing the same thing. The outstanding number of shares is what I commented on. The balance sheet has absolutely nought to do with the dilution of the outstanding shares of Skye if they eventually raise the 30bn needed through rights/issuance of new shares. paulcube: Please educate me here... does the new balance size not matter? If it is rights, I won't consider it dilution, it will be existing shareholders benefiting from their company....... they are capitalising their company, increasing their holding at a discount.... It will still create dilution Sir, however, the increased OS can be justified by increased earnings as a result of increased asset base. |

angelo82: That your Morgan is tempting......Very tempting.....Are they very reliable as firm because this selling of a stock that has not been settled sounds like a practice that is unethical.............Can you also access the money from such purchase instantly..........I hope Morgan won't crash like some wonder stockbrokers........If its true,then whats wrong with the like of Meristem?...... The practice is not unethical. NSE is developing fast and Stockbrokers have upgraded. Morgan is NOT reliable when it comes to customer service but the iTrade thing is a bomb. With JIJO, you will hardly need customer service which is why I use Morgan strictly for my short term trades. Meanwhile you can also buy and sell the same day with Meristem. Plus, you can sell a stock and use the proceeds to buy same day with Meritrade. |
