Leave grammar. Our brainless defender, Jones, got dragged out of his position that caused space for that goal.
Was he the only defender who got dragged out? He wasn't our centre defender, Smalling was in the middle of three. Even Smalling got dragged out many times and Jones covered for him.

Jones is not brainless. He has been our best this season.

See Chelsea Carving us open like say them need that 2nd goal badly in a knockout tie.

This is bad.
It's due to man marking. The central defenders are being drawn out by the Chelsea players they are meant to mark in certain situations.

Our central defence is always open due to too much man marking instead of Zonal marking.

Outside of Lagos and Abuja, Nigeria is mostly like a real life Mad Max Movie.

It can seem unfathomable to someone who has never experienced anything other than the Nigerian wasteland, but the UK really is like heaven.

Out of my dad's 6 kids, 4 of us are fully based here. Of the remaining 2, one is in boarding school, the other one is preparing for NYSC.

My Dad can't leave because of his business interests, but he has sworn that all of us must leave the country. grin

Everytime he comes to visit, na cursing left and right. He hates Nigeria with a passion, and he's one of the ones that could be reasonably described as doing OK.
Abeg Lagos no join. I prefer Benin to Lagos jor.

Smelling Lagos. I worked there before and it was hell. I took voluntary transfer to Benin. You leave your house in GRA and get to office in 5-10 minutes. Better breeze, fresh neighbors, quiet and peaceful life. Good social life weekends. You can still travel to Lagos for weekends and enjoy less traffic on Saturdays and Sundays.

Many people transfered from Lagos to Benin, Kano, Abuja, don't always want to leave. But once they manage to relocate, they begin to say if they knew they would have left Lagos since.

In the last 3yrs I have seen many bank managers, People in Banks AM and above in Nigeria that relocated to Yankee and wont mind doing this menial job even some people who are on 9-13M a year in Nigeria

All those people lamenting on that thread, if you tell them you will give them an American visa for 1 week and collect 2M Naira they will all drop the money and flee
How many bank managers relocate to US? Bank managers mostly go to Canada where they will earn more doing simpler jobs.

A bank manager would go to US, or even the small countries if if he begins to see his job is not steady or has lost his job. He or she is not going to tell anyone that he cannot meet his targets in the office anymore or that he sees insecurity around his job.

To cut a long story short, it is better for a bank manager who has lost his job to go do work outside the country rather than taking a very low job in Nigeria.

All things being equal, a bank manager in Nigeria has no need going to US where he cannot be guaranteed a professional job. There are some other countries where good office jobs can be guaranteed either via skilled immigrant program or some more years of study.

Brazil is the greatest attacking team in history, I dont know when Brazil became a counter attacking team. A country with Pele Ronaldo Dinho Romario etc The term jogo bonito is used to describe their football

AC Milan the most successful Italian team in Europe was an attacking team.

Madrid, AC Milan, Barcelona Bayern are the most succesful teams in the CL all attacking teams
You are correct.

Attacking teams are more successful. Also mistakes are made most in the area where the ball is used most in a match.

Some how I respect those managers who are able to park the bus and still win big matches.

any of martial and rashford dat starts tend to flop.
Rashford does well like 70% of the time when he starts, but Martial is just like 10-20%

Rashford ability to stretch defence meant oppositions must always keep an eye on him. Even for Nation team, it is same thing .

Welldone Manchester United. Great performance from Matic and Young.

I still prefer Mkhitaryan to Mata. I also think Rashford deserves to start over Martial. Martial always flop when started.

I understand where u both are coming from.

In recent years Balon D' Or winner was always whoever scored the most goals or won the most trophies depending on whichever siuted UEFA's narrative i guess.

Ribery may not ve scored much in 2013, but he had most assists in the UCL and the league. He won trebble. He was UEFA and Bundesliga's best player.
But they still gave it Ronaldo because he scored lots of goals. Ronaldo didn't even win any major titles in 2013.

Same way they overlooked Iniesta who won the world cup for Spain and Sneidjer that won trebble in 2010 and gave it to Messi for scoring most goals
Where did you see Ribery winning most Assists in UCL 2012/2013? Ibrahimovic won it. Ribery was joint second with Di Maria, Ozil, and I think Fabregas.

If it is by winning treble, why did a United player not win Ballon'dor in 1999?

How was Ribery even better than Robben in that team?

Not true. Ronaldo deserved it far over Ribery who had just one UCL goal that season. Ribery was lucky to play in a very good Bayern Munich team.

Messi to Sneijder. Ronaldo to Ribery.

QED. Nuff said. cool
Ribery didn't deserve shit. He scared only one goal in the whole of UCL competition that season while Ronaldo scored 12 to top the chart. In the final match Robben won the official Man of the match and scored the winning goal. Neuer won the fans Man of the match. I think Ribery was even substituted. Tell me any UCL Ronaldo and Messi played in the final that they didn’t score?

Ronaldo was also the one who single handedly qualified Portugal for the world cup.

How can you give Ballon'dor to a forward player who scored 1 UCL goal throughout? In that same team Muller scored 8 goals, Robben 4. Ribery couldn't even top the Assist chart. Even in the voting, Messi came second in the Ballon'dor ahead of Ribery

Messi was better than Sneidjer jor

They are aiming to win two world cups in one year after they won the Under 20 earlier this year.

virtually d whole football world is amazed that De gea did not make d list.
meaning he was suppose to have made it.

https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/78comb/according_to_fifa_david_de_gea_is_not_one_of_the/

De Gea could claim to be the outright best keeper in the world so the fact he was overlooked completely is baffling.
His absence is so unexpected you can’t help but wonder if there has been an admin error somewhere in the process.
If not, then what are the national captains, coaches and media representatives of the world thinking?
Even Claudio Bravo made the list and his performances for City have been notoriously disappointing.
Better than De Gea in 2017 apparently…
De Gea is held in high regard by fans all over the world and not just those who support Man United or Spain.
The 26-year-old is the only player in United’s history to be named as the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year three seasons in a row (13/14 – 15/16) and his consistently world-class shot stopping has earned his club a considerable number of points in the last year alone.
The whole thing is a farce — plain and simple.
I think DeGea is not there because he didnt play a major role in our Europa triumph. It was Romero who saw us through and kind of exposed DeGea weakness of poor box control, in addition to aerial weakness. Although DeGea has improved much this season

He made us unable to attack and totally push them back. It was no longer possible to take risk on the left.

I choose not to blame Lindelof for today, because 1 premier league match is not a dull decider on his quality. He will come good in due time.

Its best he learns from his mistakes this early....

My blame lies with the AMFs and Wingers. Did they ever show up at all..
He might come good but he has the biggest blame for today’s loss. Even our academy defenders called upon over the years have not performed worse.

It will take time for him to actually come good because he is not fast.

Proper analysis of the 4 idiots that made us lose today. Yet some peeps here think Lingard had a wonderful game.

I am slowly beginning to believe that most people here do not even understand football talk more of analysing the beautiful game properly.
Victor Lindelof - 3
His first big Premier League test and looked shell shocked after opening goal. Missed header for second. Will learn from it.

Ander Herrera - 4
Barked at his team-mates, but was easily dispossessed on a number of occasions. Moved to centre-back and struggling for role in side.

Juan Mata - 4
Had sat out tricky away trips to Stoke and Liverpool and did not affect this game. Drifted inward but easily dispossessed by Mooy for goal.

Jesse Lingard - 4
Usually thrives through middle but a frustrating afternoon in his first league start. Felt early tackle from Schindler. Decision making awry.

Lingard was still okay, but Lindelof and Mata killed us

Kai, see as dem finish Herrera.

You no know ball. He rendered himself ineffective with that yellow and final warning from the ref. After the yellow, he committed three quick offences, and was given last warning. He couldn't function well again.

Three months ago, during the summer, some guys here argued for a long time that Herrera should be captain. I wonder if they still think same way now.

Also, same period, some said one of the 'useless English' centre defenders should be sold because we bought Lindelof. I remember suggesting we allow him to kick ball first. When he played the pre-season, he was exposed too quickly as one unable to read aerial balls. Although I think he can still come good later.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 5:47pm On Oct 21, 2017
Martial was partly the reason we lost. He was our best attacking player, but within 13 minutes of play he had put himself in danger of getting a red card. He got a yellow and last warning within 13 minutes. So be could not function well, and the lads were afraid to play with him in tight situations.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 5:06pm On Oct 21, 2017
We dropped points where we should have collected three. Jones should have at least waited for Rojo to return before getting injured. Lindelof is not ready yet. I also discovered that Lindelof is slow. This will be another problem.

Mata's attacking play was nonexistence, we also saw him when he dropped to the center line, and he lost the ball twice in dangerous situations.

The way we played second half with intense pressure reminds me of SAF days. Unfortunately, we couldn't get the equalizer. Smalling messed up a big chance at the very end. I was wondering why Smalling who has poor attacking play was upfront while Mkhitaryan dropped deep. Another player could have placed that ball well into the net, may be even Lindelof.

We need our injured players back. That's the only way. Fellaini's aerial threat, Bailly's confidence in defence, Jones solid play, Pogba's midfield control, Rojo too. We need these guys back as quickly as possible.
