Is he expected to have more goals in La liga than in all competition? He isnt the top striker so how many non top strikers in Europe have 36 goals and assists in all comps
What I am saying is that we don't need a forward player who will not give us 25 league goals except that player plays on the right wing. We should talk about league goals to understand better.

We are looking for a striker to bang in our goals, I don't need another Mkhitaryan kind if player.

Griezmann 25 goals in Spain will turn 15 goals when he comes to England. I prefer Aubameyang

A player who cannot get past 2 players, that is dribble or outpace two players, is that suppose to worth more than £40m. Mkhitaryan might even bench him.

This is the problem with us here. Even if a player has been consistently playing well over a period once he has a stinker or plays a little off in a match someone comes to use that one match to discredit the guys whole career. Haba.

Elamps, if you no like griezman its OK but to come run the guy down like say him be one yeye player is not fair na.

Chai, give-me-i-give-you player = griezman grin
Is today I have been saying Griezmann is shyte? Please we don't need the scam.

How has he be playing well? The excuse my friends keep giving me is that the whole Athletico team has been poor.

And Man Utd has been poor, we don't need one who just make the numbers, we need one who will lift us up.

All competition? He doesn't even have 25 league goals in Laliga. We don't need him.

He has just 16 Laliga goals, he is a waste. We need a 25 league goal striker who can help us win the league.

That will only happen if every taker is a specialist like sigurdsson, with amazing consistency.
Put Ronado behind those balls, he will likely balloon it to the wall, or over the post most times, just like any regular taker.
Few people can play it the way sigurdsson, not to talk of consistently.
The ball was curled beside the wall, so before a keeper can get a good view of it, it would late, based on distance.
Herrera probably won't have left the goal, if it was formed properly.
Gylfi Sigurdsson has only scored four goals outside the box this season. Assuming all are freekicks, that makes him scored just three until he faced DeGea.

Alaba scored from same position using left foot (more difficult to predict from the position), against Wolfsburg. The keeper dived and almost got to the ball.

DeGea is beginning to scam us. When Payet beat him from far distance last season, even Payet said he didn't expect he would beat DeGea from there. How many times did free kick beat Van Dan Sar? It's same DeGea who would not leave his line to pick an aerial ball within his reach.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m):
Please let no one suggest Griezmann here again. We don't need another player who plays only Give-me-I-give-you football. He is not worth 50 million. I have been asking how many goals he has scored this season that he should be rated so high.

If Mourinho buys Greizman or James, that will be the end of his coaching career. Particularly if he pays so much for give-me-I-give Greizman

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been “fixed” and feels “stronger” after undergoing knee surgery in the United States, he said on Tuesday.

Ibrahimovic posted on his official Instagram account, accompanied by a photograph showing white medical wristbands around his two wrists.

“Fixed, done and stronger, once again thank you for the support. We will enjoy my game together soon.”

Ibrahimovic, 35, faces a long period of rehabilitation after sustaining ligament damage in his right knee during United’s Europa League quarter-final win against Anderlecht last month.

With his United contract due to expire at the end of the season, his future at the club is in doubt.

United posted on Twitter: “@ManUtd Good news from Zlatan’s team that he has undergone successful knee surgery.”

In a statement released late on Monday, Ibrahimovic’s agent Mino Raiola said surgery in Pittsburgh had been a success and "He will make a full recovery and has not suffered a career-ending injury.”

The free kick was too close for most keeper to save.
If Herrera was sure the ball was going to that side, he would have stayed in goal, and not go to to close the wall.
I remember in 2002 or so, Leeds united 1 0 Manu, Beckam was to take such free kick for Man u, immediately beckam was about to kick the ball, Smith(ex manu player) withdrew from the wall to the left hand side of the goal, and lo and behold, Beckam played it to that side, and Smith was able to chest the ball out.
The keeper was firmly rooted on same spot that day.
Herrera was playing the whole Sawnsea team onside, and the Swansea players were going to make the most use of it. He left after a split second thought.

The kick was close but in every match we see almost freekicks from that 25 yards spot. If every free kick from there beats the goalkeeper, then there will be a free kick scored every two matches the most.

Remember the koko was that the freekick was taken with a right foot. A right foot freekick to where DeGea was protecting was never going to threaten, which makes his left side the most dangerous target.

Cos it was far, this one was very close. A Gk is to be blamed if he conceded on the side he should cover. Check Willians goal against Lloris in fa cup and the error Lloris made cos he was expecting the ball over the wall which made it easier for Willian to score and could've also happened if Sig anticipated his move.
DeGea was dumb. I see goalkeepers save such every now and them. If DeGea were still in goal against Rostov he wouldn't even move for the ball.

How many times do we see keepers save beautiful freekick played to the side where the wall blocked. Mata has been playing such freekicks and keepers still saved. This one was even a right footer which made it predictable.

Ask yourself how Herrera was able to predict the spot. I told my friends that DDG will not make a dive if the freekick went behind the wall, and it happened exactly.

chrisley024:
So he should be moving to the left before the ball was even played cos that's the only way to stop that ball or stay behind the wall huh
That was what Romero did against Rostov, although slightly farther spot from goal. Once it was glaring the kicker was going to use his right foot, Romero started moving towards his left because it would be easier to recover to the right than diving full length to the left.

I was so annoyed yesterday ehn... De Gea dey think sef?... No way Sigurdsson will drop that set piece in another direction when he's not a left footer..

Even after Herrera made that move De Gea suppose use him common sense know wetin go sup...
There are aspects of his game he has refused to improve.

He never imagined that ball would go to that angle. Herrera was sure it was going there 99.99% but DDG whoosaaa

I thought DDG was covering the other angle for formality

Going by your formation and tactics that was why I mentioned Blind. Of course he will play CB but will have drop into the DM Position once in a while when needed. If we leave only Pogba and Herrera there I just pity our condition after the match.
The formation is 3-4-1-2

If you must play Blind in midfield, you have to remove either Pogba or Herrera. Herrera is a better DM than Blind. Fellaini will even be a better substitute to Herrera than Blind.

Midfield of 4
Valencia RWB
Young LWB
Herrera DM
Pogba CM
....
1
Mkhitaryan AM in the number 10 behind the two forwards.

Exactly same position vs Fernabache, and DDG did not move. Taken too by a right footer which makes it more predictable.

And can you list the number of times he has been played there since he came to England?
He failed when he had a successive appearance there. He was the first to be played there under Gaal. He made Di Maria suffer.

Later he replaced Carrick there towards the end of that season, and we didn’t have anything going for us in the midfield. We were overrun like no one was there

Carrick and Fellaini are better? Oh united..How low you have become.
Blind offers no single shield in midfield. When he played there under Gaal he was poor tracking runs of opposing midfielders

Remember too he uses one leg which makes his passes very predicted. He passes only to the left

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 5:16am On May 01, 2017
Some of our players should be fresh enough too to play Celta Vigo

Pogba
Fellaini
Mata
Mkhitaryan

Although we cannot play all of them at once. May be three. Rooney too should be fresh enough. Martial and Lingard are young enough to play every four days. But Rashford is overused. Rashford and Valencia sprint most in the the team (if not in the league), if only they had their rest. That injury prone Shaw didn't allow Valencia to rest.

The major concern is how will get a good cover in our defence. I wish Smalling can just be 80% fit already, we can risk him and play a three man defence with him flanked by Darmian and Blind. Then Valencia and Young in wing backs. We would have been covered defensively.

Then play Pogba and Herrera in the middle, Mkhitaryan in their front. Then Rashford and Martial as two forwards.

But Mourinho will come up with the best tactics.

He even played very well in the second half except that foul. He looked like it was a matter of time before a ball fall in his path and he scores. Mourinho should have used today to encourage him. If it were Fellaini, Mourinho would be defending him for causing a penalty, he would have left him on and start him again the next match.

What annoys me more is him smashing a free goal into Martials back.
Are you blaming Rooney for that instead of Martial who moved into the shot? It was a well placed shot by Rooney, the other side was blocked by keeper and players, he picked the right spot with precision. We have seen worse miss from other lads all season, even when no one on the way and keeper on the ground they still missed.

Draw away vs Celta Vigo (and probably get a goal there), win the 2nd leg at Old Trafford - we don enter final be that.

The final go be "do or die" affair!
Before final we will have all centre defenders back. So we can pair Bailly and Smalling/Jones.

It means forgetting about the EPL and playing as if it's only the Europa league that matters.

If your opponent is constantly under pressure from your attack (even when you're 2 goals up), your defense won't have much to worry about.
We are most likely going to pair Carrick and Blind in defence. Pogba and Herrera in midfield.

We should play Young and Valencia in full backs to add height and strength.

Poor decision making by Rashford and Martial meant we couldn't kill the game.

Bailly was senseless. He knew he was the last standing centre back in United first team, he kept taking risk. Immediately he injured, Swansea went all out and their coach brought in faster and taller players. That injury brought the pressure

I also suspected this route to Champions League wouldn't work, except if we had beaten City. So Mourinho should have rested Bailly and play a young CB.

Rooney should not have gone all out for that contest knowing the position. He had a good intention of stopping that guy from putting a directed header back to our box without a tall defender, but he should have not caused a foul there.

DeGea didn’t even move. A free kick from there with a right foot will always likely aimed at that position. DeGea is poor at reading kicks. This is not too different from the saved made by Romero in the last minutes vs Rostov

It's becoming late to think like this. How do you throw everything with the quality defenders injured?

I doubt that. I think Valencia has only played like 3 of the past 5 matches. That hardly defines overused.
He has not gotten an extensive rest. Remember he went into the Bournemouth game straight from Ecuador.
