Odunharry:He played like he was the one being valued 100 million. |
Ibime:Gaal sold him and Di Maria. Moyes had no hand in it. When I watch Nani, I feel pains that we left him go prematurely. Nani would have helped Man Utd finished top four last season. Not doubt. The likes of Lingard, Mephis, are waste when compared to Nani. |
SailorXY:Exactly. |

raumdeuter:What made Stam not in that class? I saw nothing special in Cannavaro, except having an excellent world cup and a one or two superb seasons. |
Axel Tuanzebe and Tyrell Warren are two Man Utd youngsters who could make their debuts in Jose Mourinho's first pre-season match vs Wigan. Over 7,000 Manchester United supporters will be in attendance for the club's trip to Wigan next week. The decision to play at Wigan has been well received among matchgoers. For those United supporters eager to watch Jose Mourinho's Reds but unable to afford a flight to China. United will be deprived of 14 players next week. 11 were included in Euro 2016 squads, while Marcos Rojo, Sergio Romero and Antonio Valencia featured for their countries at the Copa America. Mourinho will be bereft of four United strikers, so James Wilson might have the chance, the same applies to Sam Johnstone. Valencia and Matteo Darmian are on holiday which gives Timothy Fosu-Mensah a chance with Guillermo Varela the only recognised right-back. Eric Bailly and Daley Blind might be able to play unless Mourinho decides on Jones in the centre. Ander Herrera, Michael Carrick and Juan Mata are available and Memphis could capitalise on Anthony Martial's participation at Euro2016 as United's left winger. Jesse Lingard could liekly play and Henrikh Mkhitaryan should be available for his debut But the biggest cheer of the afternoon when the line-ups are announced at the DW might be for Luke Shaw. raumdeuter:I see how you tactically left out Schmeichel in the equation. Stam and Maldini never won Ballon D'or, I believe they are better than Cannavaro. |
Guillem Balague tells BBC Radio 5: "Paul Pogba is Manchester United-bound. Real Madrid have abandoned the auction." |
raumdeuter:You are repeating yourself instead of addressing my point. My point is that there is an aggregation of points over a period which put Kahn behind VDS and Schmeichel. |
raumdeuter:The number of times individual keepers won it wouldn't count anymore when the same body used same metrics to make an assessment covering 25 years period. It is just like saying Messi has won the Ballon D'or 5 times but many experts still ask if he is as good as Maradona. |
raumdeuter:I will take Stam and Maldini over Cannavaro. |
raumdeuter:But the body that rates goalkeeper on yearly basis and has rated the best keepers in the last 25 years, rated VDS and Schmeichel higher than Kahn. I have no problem with Neuer, because I have been a fan of Neuer since we played against him while he was at Schalke 04. I have no doubt that he is the world best keeper now and has been for some time. |

Paul Pogba's priority is to join Real Madrid over Manchester United this summer, according to Sky Sports' Spanish football expert Guillem Balague, but Real Madrid are scared they might be priced out of the transfer of the summer. ....... "Pogba has made it very clear, to Real Madrid anyway, that he would like to be a Real Madrid player this summer," he told Sky Sports News HQ . "He has had conversations with Zinedine Zidane and he wants to play for Zidane. "The problem is Real Madrid feel the kind of money that Manchester United is willing to pay for him is crazy and they cannot match it." www.skysports.com/football/news/12087/10494459/paul-pogba-favours-real-madrid-over-manchester-united-but-real-fear-being-priced-out-says-guillem-balague |
Jose Mourinho does not want Manchester United’s pursuit of Paul Pogba to drag on beyond the Community Shield against Leicester City at Wembley on August 7th. The United manager has made it clear, publicly and privately, that he has no intention of allowing the club to be backed into a corner on a frantic transfer deadline day scramble, a scenario that happened in each of the past three summers under his predecessors, Louis van Gaal and David Moyes. If a deal cannot be agreed for Pogba within a reasonable timeframe, Mourinho will switch attention to his back-up plan. “We are not going to get the fourth on the 31st of August, no way, we will get the fourth before that and then we are stable but the market will be open,” Real Madrid provide the main competition to United and the Spanish giants – who have a history of getting their man but this time are facing an unusual scenario in that they fear being priced out of a deal by United. Woodward was in Monaco with Raiola on Tuesday to tie up the Mkhitaryan transfer and Woodward is happy for Raiola to take the lead on negotiations with Juventus for Pogba. Jose Mourinho risks upsetting his Manchester United players if he decides to sell Juan Mata this summer. Mata, who was sold by Mourinho to United in January 2014, is well liked among his teammates and his possible departure would be 'very unpopular' inside the dressing room. Mourinho appeased the United squad before he met them by offering vice-captain Michael Carrick a contract extension weeks after his appointment was confirmed, but Mata's United career was plunged into further doubt by Henrikh Mkhitaryan's arrival. Mata operated mainly on the right for United last season - which is where Mkhitaryan excelled for Borussia Dortmund. Mata, 28, is understood to not see any issues with Mourinho arriving unless the Portuguese decides to create one with the player he jettisoned from Chelsea. [Source: M.E.N] #MUFC #Mata |
Victor Valdes released by United has signed for Middlesboro. |
raumdeuter:Schweinsteiger played far better in this tournament than he ever did for Manchester United |
Training has started.

GBR1:And someone said Rooney only had one good game every 15 games. So I shouldn't clarify the situation? This is the problem. When people lie about Rooney you guys support. But when I clarify with facts, you come to attack me. You see your biased mind? |
Rooney's offside count 2012/2013 when he played behind RVP. 2011/12 and 2012/13 have been his low offside count. It clearly shows he was in the number 10 in both seasons.
|
Patrickmuf, You can see Rooney's offside count in 2009/10. It is easy to see he played as a striker.
|
patrickmuf:That is not true. Rooney was number 10 behind Chicharito/Welbeck . That was why his offside count was low, just like when he played number 10 behind RVP the next season. Rooney’s offside count usually reflects where he played. When he has been rotated from positions, his offside count still reflect such like last season, and 2013/14, 2014/15. But in 2009/10 when he was a co striker with Bervatov, his offside count was high.

lekkie073:You can have your opinion. I have mine. Herrera, Mata, Rojo, Wilson, Schneiderlin, Darmian, were worse than Rooney in opinion. |
Spy360:Mourinho has played predominantly 4-2-3-1. So we should be talking of front four. I honesty think Rooney will get in before Herrera and Mata. But we still have to wait. It is going to be another long season with many matches, so there are plenty matches to go round. The one who started on the bench might even end up being the coach's favourite as season progresses. |
lekkie073:Only five players deserve their wage. DDG, Martial, Smalling, Blind and Valencia. Even Mata has not earned his wage. |
RuuDie:Na true na. Anything I talk, I fit defend am. ..................... Louis van Gaal tactics left Manchester United players close to mutiny One of Van Gaal’s more bemusing instructions was for his strikers not to shoot first-time from balls coming across the penalty area. Instead they were under orders to take a touch in front of goal, even if the relevant players felt confident enough to go for goal straight away. One example goes back to the opening day of the season when Tottenham Hotspur were the opposition and Antonio Valencia sent in a low cross from the right to pick out Rooney, unmarked, in the middle of the penalty area. It seemed like a relatively straightforward finish but Rooney took an extra touch because that was what Van Gaal had drummed into his players. Kyle Walker made a saving tackle only to turn the ball into his own net and Rooney looked almost sheepish as he headed back to the centre circle. Over time, the players started ignoring the rule, complaining that they should be allowed to think for themselves (though the story of one player asking United’s chef to hard-boil him a couple of eggs to take home, on the basis he did not know how to do it himself, suggests that maybe some members of the squad do need coddling). Other sources have revealed how players became so frustrated with Van Gaal’s instructions they took matters into their own hands and told him they wanted to play their own way. In one case, that player is said to have improved markedly as a result. https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2016/may/22/louis-van-gaal-manchester-united-players-near-mutiny |
patrickmuf:Rooney scored 34 goals playing from the number 10 in 2011/2012 season. He always scores goals from there. |
Lekkie073, below are the matches Rooney played on his return from injury. If you think Rooney was not superb in most of these matches, you are unrepentant biased fan. When he played the number 10 against Villa, he was outstanding and deserved to continue there, he was probably the best player on the pitch. But Gaal decided those passes were better used in midfield. Even when he went to midfield, he did mafnificiently well. The match day ratings from various sites are not far farfetched. 13 Apr 2016 West Ham 1 - 2 Man Utd 16 Apr 2016 Man Utd 1 - 0 Aston Villa 20 Apr 2016 Man Utd 2 - 0 C Palace 23 Apr 2016 Everton 1 - 2 Man Utd 01 May 2016 Man Utd 1 - 1 Leicester 07 May 2016 Norwich 0 - 1 Man Utd 10 May 2016 West Ham 3 - 2 Man Utd 17 May 2016 Man Utd 3 - 1 Bournemouth 21 May 2016 C Palace 1 - 2 Man Utd |
lekkie073:The reason is that you people refused to see. I am not the only one who sees. Rooney was EPL most ptoductive player of 2016 before his injury. Between January 2nd and February Rooney scored 7 goals in 7 matches. He gave about 4 or 5 Assists that period (in all competition). When he returned from injury, his midfield performance was the best in the whole EPL. The problem is that you people already hate him and will never acknowledge the truth.
|
LTSHANGY:Rooney of course. 28 years old Mata will likely retire as a waka pass number 10. He will never achieve what Rooney achieved from the number 10 position. |
