Diademk07:He didn't do well but he started well and got worse with time, particularly second half. After a few misplaced passes, his confidence ran out. There is the problem of attempting to dribble but he lost that ball in three consecutive attempts, and that completely was shattering. May be he should have just done the simple pass or lob the ball into the box, because for years he has not been playing that way - dribbling in final third. It worked for him against Wales but he failed woefully at those attempts last night. But for poor players. Look at Cahil, Kane, Hart. England Hart 4 - Guilty of another howler for Sigthorsson's goal. Perhaps needs some time out. Walker 6 - Left Sigurdsson for the equaliser but at least showed intent going forward Cahill 4 - Also culpable for Iceland's second goal. Wasteful when given time on ball Smalling 4 - Constantly dragged out of position and looked uncomfortable in possession. Rose 6 - One of England's better performers – both defensively and going forward. Alli 6 - Inexperienced showed at times but at least tried to make things happen. Dier 5 - Often left on his own in the centre of midfield and looked to be injured. Subbed. Rooney 6 - Scored his sixth Euros goal from the spot and did what he could to get England going Sturridge 5 - Too many touches with no product. Out of position on the right. Booked. Kane 4 - A shadow of the player who won the Golden Boot. First touch has gone completely. Sterling 5 - Won the early penalty but it's clear that his confidence is shot. Subbed Wilshere 5 - Still looked short of fitness and sharpness after being asked to save England Vardy 5 - Gave England more movement up front but service lacking. Rashford ( for Rooney, 86) |
igbsam:Wetin dey worry you. But for Rooney we lost that FA cup final. Rooney wasn't the worst player for England yesterday despite having a bad day in about two months. Why didn't the rest players lift the day? Dele Alli, Kane and Sturridge that have been hailed as the Messi's of EPL, what did they do? Hodgson fell for the old trick of counting on players who are shining at the moment. Barkely, Henderson, Clyne would have done a better job than those players who were brought in due to one season wonder. It is also unfortunate that such players as Chamberlain, Welbeck who offer pace were injured and the other two barely looked fit, that is Wilshere and Sturridge. |
GBR1:Is Rooney the first player to have a bad game? He has done well in midfield for two months until yesterday. Even natural midfielders do have bad days. Sometimes you need other players to lift the day. However, England lost it to the poor Joe Hart and Cahil who left his defensive sense at home. |
What a calamity! Rashford, in the few minutes he got, did better than the rest English players. If only he came on earlier. I would still take Barkely over Dele Ali in that number 10. And Clyne is their best number 2 with his attacking sense England played like Gaal. Spent 3 minutes passing in midfield, then make a long pass forward and the ball is lost. They only had purpose in the last 20 minutes. The second goal was too cheap to concede. Upon all his experience, Cahil was so easily shaken off, and Hart is a calamity. He is at fault for three of four goals England conceded in this tournament. I am not happy because I always want England to do well. |
Liverpool used to have these funny names: Riise, Carragher, Hyypia, Riera, Benayoun, Arbeloa, Kuyt, Skrtel, N'gog, The always wondered how these players with funny names were recruited into one club. I always enjoy the commentary when the names are mentioned. |
The kind of names we bring to the club these days: Schweinsteiger, Snederline, Rojo, Januzaj, Mkhitaryan. Gone are the days we had such easy names as Rio, Ronaldo, Rooney, Brown, Garry, Scholes, Tevez, Vidic, Evra, etc. |

Why? Pope Francis, I don't support this at all. |
#BREAKING Dortmund have sent an official to Manchester to complete the transfer of Henrikh Mkhitaryan. ^^^ I saw that now. |
Manchester United buying Pogba back for a world record fee after he unceremoniously left the club on free transfer 4 years ago, will go into records as the craziest football news ever. |
#BREAKING Manchester United have agreed to pay the €38m asking price for Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Mino Raiola will meet with Juventus on Monday to discuss Paul Pogba with United a likely move. Zlatan will arrive in Manchester in the 1st week of July. [via @DiMarzio, SkyItalia, @MarioGiunta] |
Why did we not add all these money to buy Bonucci? How many CB are we going to buy? |
Manchester United have had a £28m bid for Roma defender Kostas Manolas rejected according to journalist Emanuele Giulianelli. Roma are now set to extend his contract by one year, until 2020 and Manolas can expect his salary to rise. A bid of around €35/£28m was submitted by the Red Devils, according to Corierre dello Sport, which was swiftly rejected by the club’s hierarchy. Despite adding Eric Bailly to the squad, Jose Mourinho is still interested in bringing in defensive reinforcements to Old Trafford. [Source: gazzettaworld.com, corrieredellosport.it] #MUFC #Manolas |
Odunharry:Sorry about that. I thought of actually calling you, Chrisley024, Nihilist, Ramdeuter, AdeLaNa1, dadehmola, SailorXY, Afrodoc2 and BinghiNya. Again I felt some would say 'why you carry 3000 for head' . Then I changed my mind. I can still mention you there though. And some people are very careful, after marking register, they turned the rest page into argument. |
High Court is along Sapele road. One of the best roads in Nigeria. So I don't understand this. |

Manchester United have made an improved bid of £28m for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Jose Mourinho is desperate to land Mkhitaryan and has upped the ante in the battle for his services. United had an offer of around £18m rejected by the German club following the end of the Premier League season. But executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has spoken to Mourinho about the attacking midfielder and decided to return with a second bid. Sources close to the on-going negotiations reckon United are confident of making him their second major signing of the summer. [Source: Mirror, Star] #MUFC #Mkhitaryan |
BarcaBlood:Ramos went for the PK. |
DeGea was woeful today. First he was dispossessed when he received a back pass. Second, in my opinion, he could have done something about the equalizing goal. Third which is the worst, he left a wide space in his near post to concede a late goal. He appeared to have single handedly set up a big crash between Spain and Italy. |
rosy1992:Pretty you. |
Louis van Gaal has been linked with a return to management with AC Milan, according to Gazetta dello Sport. The 64-year-old, who won the FA Cup last season, had suggested his job at United would be his last in football after spells in charge of Ajax, Barcelona, AZ Alkmaar, Bayern Munich and Holland. But Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting he is on the shortlist to replace Sinisa Mihajlovic at Milan along with Andre Villas-Boas and Ronald de Boer. [Source: gazetta.it] #MUFC #LVG |
Diademk07:Who? |
adeyemi2015:This is my observation from the very first match. Two many wingers, and they instruct one another. The coach doesn't know how to utilize players. But that Portuguese left back on jersey number 5 was a delight to watch. |
Danhumprey:People now come from nowhere, jump into arguments in the middle and even insult those who have the same line of argument they intend to push. Did these people even attend high school? |
blueAgent:You are a compound fool. Illiterate and an eternal ignoramus. Instead of you to admit that you didn't know that my line to argument was in support of black players, you are here covering your goof with insults. Dirty Pig! Nihilist that I argued with knew what my line of argument was, and the other intelligent people who were reading. |
blueAgent:Didn't you see people laughing at your ignorance. How do I even expect an ignoramus like you to comprehend that I was supporting your line of argument. |
Thanks Syncan. The response is okay for the matured mind. Only those with little spiritual maturity still argue. |
Syncan:Thanks, but it looks like I am not entirely satisfied. |
dubylhover:Kane= cannot carve out a chance from nothing. Cannot do it by himself. But will score when the opportunity comes. Vardy = Like Kane, cannot carve out a chance himself, but can out pace the last marker. And will score when gifted opportunity. Sturridge= Can create a chance for himself, can beat a defender and can be a world class in few minutes and become useless the next minutes. Injury prone. However, he is my favourite if England were to play one striker. He also has more experience. |
dubylhover I don't see how Barkely can get into that midfield ahead of Rooney. Only Wilshere can if in his element, and because he plays differently. When Rooney bossed the midfield in Wembley FA cup semi final against Everton, where was Barkely? Earlier in the season, when we beat Everton 3-0 in the league, Rooney was in number 10 and scored. Where Barkely dey? |
Dadehmola:Lol Yes, he has been poor but I am working based on what I saw in the qualifiers when he was their most creative player playing behind/along the senior players. |

Rooney is past his prime and ought to retire from national and club football (he can as well go to dubai to collect salary). The guy is a national disaster.
