Blind goes in for Jackson. Possibly passed a late fitness test or the manager changes his mind at the last minute. This starting eleven na wai! |
United squad v Liverpool: De Gea, Romero, Valencia, Darmian, Varela, Smalling, Williams, Borthwick-Jackson, Rojo, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Fellaini, Carrick, Lingard, Mata, Memphis, Martial, Rashford. *No Herrera or Blind. |
chrisley024:Maranta was not any tired. He contested for very ball ballooned forward. He won more than half of them. Mandzukic came and contested nothing and winning nothing. No single pressure on the defenders. The sub was rubbish and entiring pushed Juve deep to defend. Evra was responsible for the equalizer. A simple clearance and the match would have been almost over. He could be blamed too for Thiago's goal. Rubbish! But good for the EPL coefficient. |
When I heard Howard Webb, I thought perhaps the replay I saw was not enough to suggest Payet dived. But dadehmola's argument is so convincing and reassuring. We were robbed again. |
Mephis and Schweinsteiger brought urgency to our game. Fellaini is a problem. I still prefer Herrera and Schneirderlin in our midfield. |
Rashford is becoming too selfish. Fellaini is tired. |
We haven't the pace and power to go directly at West Ham. We kill possible counters on arrival. |
elrony:I am also tired of Van Gaal now. I can't wait for Mourinho to resume so that confidence can return. |
“How is Juan Mata captain?” Scholes told the Daily Mail . “He's a good player and he's had a good month. But to be captain of Manchester United? “I don't think there are many real leaders in there. Chris Smalling? The goalkeeper? They, possibly, could be captain but are they real Manchester United captains? “They need to get the players into the game. [Anthony] Martial and Mata were ineffective here. They got bullied. Mata looked like a 10-year-old at times. “Memphis? You just don't know what you are going to get from him. “But you need to get the ball to these players to see what they can do. They will have more time to do that at Old Trafford.” Paul Scholes |
SIRcumalot:I don't think he had that freedom to roam as he is currently enjoying. |
Elxandre:He played in the wing against Chelsea in both legs but here is the difference: 1. He played from the right side. He is more effective on the right side of the wing than on the left where Gaal mostly used him. When he delivered a good pass for Rooney to score against Arsenal, he was on the right. Also that was his better wing for Madrid. 2. He had freedom to roam. Unlike under Gaal, Di Maria had the whole forward to explore. He could go to the middle, right or left. When he delivered an Assist to Ibrahimovic, he was on the left side. 3. The team is built to cover up his carelessness. That's what a good coach to to his star players. He keeps losing possession at PSG but it's not so obvious mostly because he is expected to have the midfielders working and cleaning up behind him. 4. He is not prematurely substituted because Blanc knows he could eventually produce a moment of magic even when having an average game. |
I now know 100% Mike Dean is our enemy. He had a hand in our narrow missed out on titles of 2009/2010 and 2011/2012 He probably has given us the most red cards. |
MIKE DEAN He is from Wirral in Merseyside. I don't live in UK. But may be those who live there should confirm if this is not same area/counting as Liverpool. May be I know why this man always want us to go down while helping our rivals as we saw in 2011/2012. |
REFEREE MIKE DEAN 02 Mar 2011 Mike Dean Ferguson was fined £10,000 and given a two-match ban for a rant at Dean following a victory over Hull in Nov 2008. Also criticised Dean following a home defeat against Chelsea last April and was angered by his dismissal of Rafael da Silva against Tottenham in January. |
Elxandre:Di Maria can run fast but lacks the physical strength and balance to make his running count in the EPL. This was why the less skillful Ashley Young could bench him. Again the coach has to know the peculiar attributes of his key players and adjust the team to suit his style. Di Maria was EPL best player when we used him on the left of diamond midfield. But after we suffered a loss to Leicester, Gaal decided to rearrange his team. |
DI MARIA, WELBECK & CHICHARITO ARE ALL BETTER THAN CURRENT MAN UNITED PLAYERS – RIO FERDINAND m.goal.com/s/en/news/166/europa-league/2016/03/10/21201622/di-maria-welbeck-chicharito-are-all-better-than-current-man?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=enfb Ferdinand. |
One of the reasons we cannot hurt a fly is because our forward players haven't any long distance speed. Martial is only fast on a short distance. I saw some occasions yesterday when we should be pacing forward, counter attacking situations, but the forwards didn't just have the pace, power and balance to orchestrate such attacking moves. |
'STOP TALKING ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND START PLAYING' – SCHOLES BLASTS 'SHOCKING' MAN UNITED 23:17 EUROPA LEAGUE The former midfielder was left frustrated by the Red Devils' display and also believes Louis van Gaal's decision to change formation at half time was a "disaster" Paul Scholes has once again criticised Manchester United following their 2-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield in the Europa League. Louis van Gaal’s side were comfortably beaten by their bitter rivals to leave their hopes of reaching the quarter-finals hanging in the balance ahead of the second leg at Old Trafford next Thursday. A Daniel Sturridge penalty gave the Reds the lead and although Van Gaal changed things at the break, bringing on Michael Carrick and reverting to a 3-5-2 formation, a Roberto Firmino strike sealed a deserved win. Speaking after the game Scholes hit out at their display, saying he does not want to hear of players apologising for the result on social media. "For 20 years, Manchester United had identity, you were going to play fast, pass the ball forward, tackle, run," he told BT Sport. "The last three years they’ve just gone away from that. Something that worked. "The first half was shocking, then they went to a back three which was a disaster. "What I don’t want to see tonight, people Tweeting how they are, ’sorry for that performance’. Stop talking on social media and start playing. "The last thing I want is for Man Utd to be happy with winning the FA Cup and finishing fourth every year. That's what Arsenal do." Former United midfielder Scholes has regularly criticised United throughout their struggles over the course of the campaign. m.goal.com/s/en-gb/news/2915/europa-league/2016/03/10/21200622/stop-talking-on-social-media-and-start-playing-scholes?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=engbfb |
Look at our forwards, all of them have negative scores. Less than 6 is negative in whoscored rating. Van Gaal is using Manchester United as an experimement.
|
But what was Carrick thinking? He gifted Liverpool the second goal. We are very poor at marking and trying to retrieve the ball. Smalling is becoming an amateur. What formation did we even play in the second half? It looks like I saw Smalling in midfield in a 3-5-2. Or was he the left back? |
I thought Valencia was to return today. I want the starting 11 and the bench to be hot. |
Di Maria is careless in possession but he produces moments of magic. A good coach would know how to use him. Azpilicueta had a bad game. |
adeyemi2015:Varela ought to have continued. Gaal will succeed in killing his confidence soon. I even thought he might keep Valencia on the bench if he kept going. Gaal doesn't know how to read players. Someone is showing great attacking potentials and you dropped him. Our right wing has been dead for some months now, but Varela's presence there has been wonderful. I also like the fact that he doesn't need to get to the byline to deliver a decent cross. |
SailorXY:I have disliked Mike Dean since 2011/2012. Every time he went out to officiate City's game there was always a controversial decision that led to a goal or penalty in favour of City. Some late decisions and sometimes involving Balotelli. He harshly sent Fabio off against Swansea in an FA cup fixture under Moyes. Fabio just came on as substitute at 1-1 then he gave him a red card in virtually his action of the game. Then Swansea scored a winner. He led the referee team that allowed Drogba clear offiside goal in April 2010 that ultimately decided the season. There are some more from that yeye Dean. Clattenburg's own is that no player should get him angry, else he will ruin the day for the entire team. Penalties and red cards will be going against that team. He has a hot temper. |
Juan Mata García @juanmata8 Let’s stay on the right track despite this blot Hi everyone, After almost 500 games as a professional player, this Sunday I was sent off for the first time in my career. As you can imagine, it’s not easy for me to write these lines. The truth is this is a new and strange situation for me, not easy to assimilate, but we learn from everything. I know that, in football, we see things like these every week, but obviously what hurts more is that my team-mates had to fight with ten men for a long time. I have the feeling that both decisions were rigorous; that, in many occasions, we see more serious fouls that are not penalised in such a way, but at the same time I could have avoided them and I take responsibility. It also leaves me with a bad taste for the supporters who travelled to the stadium, and for those who were watching the game from home, but I must carry on as always and from now on I’m already focused on the next game, the derby against Liverpool in the Europa League. In this sport there’s no time for celebrations or moaning, and after last Wednesday’s joy for the win and the goal against Watford, now I have to go through a more bitter experience. That’s the way it is. What matters is to move forward and to always learn from each situation. And so I will. The team was in a good shape. I hope this blot won’t make us forget that we were on the right track, and that we have to keep believing in ourselves to achieve the goals that are still in our minds from now until the end of the season. That’s it for today. I take responsibility in the good and the bad moments, as I’ve always done and I will always do. Thank you very much for your support. Juan PS: I’d like to give my condolences to the family and friends of Gaspar Rosety, who sadly passed away this weekend. He was a journalist who made many football fans vibrate with his voice, and he always had words of affection for me. RIP. |
Mark Dean saw an opportunity to dent our top four charge. He knew it was a matter of time we overtook City. Van Gaal says he has a philosophy, but he doesn't know how and what players combination to utilize to achieve that Philosophy. He removed Herrera whose mobility helped us in attacking, he left Carrick who stood like a statue and slowed down the game every time he received a pass. Schneirderlin and Herrera are our best midfield combination. Blind should be relieved of his defensive during permanently. He should only fill in there in times of crisis like Carrick does. Varela should continue in right back for now. Darmian has no attacking flair. DDG Val/Varela..Jones/McNair/Mensah..Chris..Rojo Schneirderlin... Herrera |
Van Gaal and Mark Dean waka! Mata first career red card on an important day. This is so bad. |
United suppose to throw men forward and into the box. But we keep praying normal while Gaal looks on. |
Mephis has been a liability compared to Rashford. |
Carrick is like statue. Carrick+Darmian+Schneirderlin = kill forward play. Worst combination. |
Since Herrera left we have lost our dominance. |
