The goal we conceded was between Rojo and Schneirderlin, they couldn't just jump to defend. The defence is our problem. |
SailorXY:When Oshea left, it looked like a wise decision because we needed Smalling, Jones and Evans to grow. But we immediately missed him in 2011/2012 season. If he were around we would have won the league that season. We didn't have a reliable squad player to fill the gaps left due to injuries. Till today, we still don't have such a quality utility squad player to call on to fill gaps in CB, FB and DM. |
AdeLaNa1:Preseason at senior level. Someone said U-20 for Brazil. Which is better? When we beat Barca that season, we went to achieve great results in the early part of the season beating Arsenal 8-2, Tottenham 3-0, Bolton 5-0, Chelsea 3-1. We won our first 6 matches, plus the Shield we beat City 3-2 coming from two goals down in the second half. It was injuries that spoilt what would have been our best season ever. Our midfielders and defenders had their worst injury spell ever. If SAF knew he would have kept Oshea that season, and there was no way City would have been Champions on goals difference. |
It looks like people easily forget so soon, and the sympathy is always for those who are on the bench. When people talk about U-20, they forget Lingard was our best player in preseason under Moyes. He was one of the best attacking players in preseason when Gaal first arrived. But in our first EPL match of the season, he twisted his leg and sustained a serious injury. Last preseason he was also one of our best in preseason. However, overall he has been average after his first great three matches. May be he did very well in those matches because he was playing in front of Valencia/Young. |
sinizia:You got it wrong. Perreira was given opportunity first but he messed up. In Capital 1 cup against Ipswich he was just there, but he scored a good goal. Against Wolfsburg he was a liability when he came on. I think he and Darmian were the reason we went under severe pressure late on at Old Trafford. Lingard was brought on at half time against Everton, his first game of the season. He immediately showed signs. In our next match against CSKA at away, he played very well. When I choosed Valencia as MOTM, many people here went for Lingard. And we had an argument for three days. Against CSKA at home, he played like he has been a UCL player for ages. He played from both sides of the wing and gave a performance almost as Mephis gave last Thursday. Lingard earned his place at the slightest opportunity. Perreira failure to grab his place brought Lingard to the fore. |
dubylhover:Mephis is more physical than Lingard. |
Odunharry:Lingard didn't have time to prove himself. He took his opportunity. Perreira has had countless and has taken none. |
afrodoc2:I don't feel Perreira. He got swallowed in the rhythm of the game whenever he plays. The game controls him, unlike Lingard who has occasionally taken the bull by the horns. |
afrodoc2:The three might make surprise return. Under SAF, we could have been surprised with a return of Jones. But Gaal has a way of pushing forward the return dates, and gradually reintroducing them to football via U-21 games followed by 15 mins, 20 mins etc |
He clearly stated that he would have loved to play with Bale, Marcelo always. He blamed the league struggle on injuries. He said they don't have Karim, no Bale, no Pepe, no Marcelo. Compared to Messi who has Neymar and Suarez always there playing at almost same level....... Ronaldo knew what he was saying. He was right. |
Bastian Schweinsteiger continued his rehabilitation from a knee injury at Manchester United 's Carrington training complex on Friday. Schweinsteiger has not played since suffering the injury against Sheffield United last month and was granted a holiday by manager Louis van Gaal . The 31-year-old headed to Dubai for rehab and to cheer on girlfriend Ana Ivanovic in the WTA Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. Schweinsteiger this week hinted he could be back for United's Europa League round-of-16 first leg in March. "I should be completely back on board in March. A medial ligament tear takes time, but everything is healing well. I know my body, everything will be okay. "In about five days, I'll begin to start running again and five days after that I should be training with a ball again." [Source: BILD] #MUFC #Schweinsteiger |
Wayne Rooney was a fraction away from suffering a career-threatening injury when damaging knee ligaments earlier this month. He is expected to be out until April, but it is understood that the affected area was close to his ACL, which would have ruled him out of the European Championships and potentially the rest the of year. Rooney was not even aware he had suffered the injury when playing on in the recent 2-1 defeat at Sunderland. Had he torn his Anterior Cruciate Ligament he would almost certainly have faced an operation and as much as 9 months of rehabilitation. The initial prognosis for his return was six to eight weeks - and he is on course to back in action in April. That would give him a good chance of recovering full fitness for Euro 16 - as well as aiding United’s bid to qualify for the Champions League. [Source: M.E.N] #MUFC #Rooney |
So Rojo cannot play 90 mins yet? This Baba Gaal doesn't know the season is gone. |
DE GEA COULD FACE THE GUNNERS Louis van Gaal is hopeful goalkeeper David De Gea will return to face Arsenal on Sunday after missing Manchester United's last three games. The Spain international was injured in the warm-up of the Reds' Europa League first leg tie away to Midtjylland eight days ago and has since been receiving treatment. Van Gaal said at the time he believed De Gea's problem was not too serious and the manager hopes he will be able to call upon the stopper at Old Trafford this weekend, but there remains a doubt over defender Chris Smalling, who sat out Thursday night's 5-1 second-leg win over the Danish side. "I expect [David can return] because I saw the way he was today," said van Gaal during a briefing with reporters after Thursday night's win. "Chris is a question mark, but you never know," he added. Further question marks remain over the fitness of Anthony Martial, who the Reds lost in the warm-up before the second leg, but there was some positive injury news with the return to action of Marcos Rojo after nearly three months out, and both Antonio Valencia and Marouane Fellaini are seemingly not too far away from full fitness either. Asked whether Martial would be available against Arsene Wenger's side, van Gaal admitted: "I don’t know because it has happened before the match. I’ve talked with him. I have talked with the physiotherapist that already had control of him. I cannot say, but it is not as heavy as everybody thinks, but you never know. "I’m very happy with Marcos that he played 10 or 15 minutes and how he showed already his form and shape, he was very good. But I have to build him up in the games and that’s not so easy, because he only had two training sessions with me. On the first day, he was with the second team and, on the second day, he was with us. So I take also a risk to do that, but I think that I have to do that now with 15 minutes and then 30 minutes and like that and I hope we can build him up. "Valencia is also coming back and Fellaini too - in the month of March, a lot of players are coming back and then we have a strong selection again." www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Football-News/2016/Feb/manchester-united-goalkeeper-david-de-gea-could-face-arsenal-on-sunday-at-old-trafford.aspx?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=ManUtd |
Next season? From usually a reliable source.

Elxandre:I refused to view that their dancing video because I was so angry and embarrassed. Now I can go back to to view it. |
“I’ve never been so close to crying after a match as I was today,” the right-back, who was sent off in the closing stages, said. “Memphis is the best player I have ever faced. It was difficult to do anything about it when he plays like that. “He is the best. He can do anything. He went inside, outside, turned me around and used his incredible pace to get past me.” m.goal.com/s/en/news/166/europa-league/2016/02/26/20730952/memphis-turned-me-inside-out-says-romer?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=enfb |
SIRcumalot:If you keep going to one side, you won't get many clear dribbles. You will dribble but you will be shielded. Mephis had clear dribbles yesterday in the final third and inside the box. Nani is one player I know could deliver such when having a good season. I don't think Robben goes straight to one side every time. He has the ability to drive both ways at great speed despite using one foot, but his end result is of the highest quality if you allow him drive to his left in dangerous area. Just like Giggs, he was one leg, but he could zig zig both ways with great speed while delivering a perfect final pass. |
GBR1:Exactly. 15 dribbles in one match. I have never seen such. He has learnt to go both ways with his dribbles which makes him less predictable. That was what Afrodoc suggested the last time. |
olabode89:Okay, good news. We have learnt not to risk playing after what happened to Valencia and Rooney. They kept on playing despite feeling pains. I think Jones did same thing. He was limping and the crew kept him on for another 15-20 mins. |
olabode89:Varela played very well yesterday. But let's see him against an EPL team again. |
weedtaker:I read it's hamstring. If true, it's usually three weeks. |
We are going to play without a senior striker for about one month. This is when Chicharito would have enjoyed himself. |
weedtaker:Valencia will not be match fit to start. He has not even trained with the team, just personal training. Jackson is injured. I am still studying that Riley. I never sure about the guy finish. |
Our back can be strong enough to withstand Arsenal if we have Schneirdelin and Herrera operating in front of Rojo and McNair. Carrick should go to the bench. DDG/Romero Varela, McNair, Rojo, Blind Herrera, Schneirdelin Lingard, Mata, Mephis Rashford Or DDG/Romero Varela, McNair, Rojo, Blind Carrick, Schneirdelin Mata, Herrera, Mephis Rashford But I am not too sure Carrick and Schneirdelin have a good partnership. It will be a big bonus if we get Smalling back. |
chrisley024:Let’s hope he and DDG can return on Sunday. Otherwise we should go with McNair and Rojo in CB. Blind on the left. We are going to rely on Mephis. It's like Mephis plays better when there is no one competing for his position. Nani was like that. |
chrisley024:Smalling has shoulder injury |
SetrakusRa:And playing for U-21 where Jones and Januzaj injured. I am happy Rojo is back. I wish Smalling was still fit. Just look at Rojo jumps to head the ball away and his guiding of the ball. The difference is clear. |
codedguy1:It was nice Mata didn't take that penalty because the pressure would have been too much for him. |
Mephis is MOTM. Rojo showing he is a senior player. Makes things look easy. |
Thank God. Ayagayayagayo hei, Ayagayayagayo E be like say these small boys understand the philosophy. Lol |
