coogar:Di Maria Young Mata. I mentioned them since. .................................................. You are just coming now. I wan sleep o. See you tomorrow. You should know on the other topic, power in 'pace and power' means energy, effort. Not about muscle or bulkiness. I remember I used to mention about pace and power of Edgar David. Good night. |
Michael Carrick is facing a battle to be fit Manchester United’s trip to Everton on Sunday, but fellow absentees Daley Blind, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo are all expected to return in time for the trip to Goodison Park. Although Carrick avoided serious injury it is understood that he has only an outside chance of playing against Everton on Sunday. Rojo, Blind and Jones are expected to return to training this week to put themselves in contention for the game against Roberto Martínez’s team. The return of either Jones or Blind would enable Van Gaal to deploy one or both in midfield and free Wayne Rooney to resume his centre-forward role. Robin van Persie has returned from two months out and played 62 mins for the U21s tonight. [Source: Telegraph] |
coogar:QUESTION? Arrange the following player according to best, better and good based on this season. Who has performed most? Is this hard to answer? Coogar wan pis for pant. ![]() |
coogar:Good you I have pushed you to accepting that other attributes are of physical. We are getting somewhere. coogar:If you knew football, you would know Robben is the most powerful from his movement ability. He has no iota of laziness in his movements. The stats are brought are not my original stat. My original stats says Robben has about the highest sprint speed ever recorded in football. At that speed considering the miles he did it, he is the most powerful footballer. When Robben beat Ramos he ran at 37km/hr. If he were to do that over 100 meter, he would make 10.28 secs- some professional sprinter have recorded worse time. Robben ran on the field with his boot. You can't do that without having so much power (energy). coogar:Why is it not being said that Ozil, Pirlo, Zidane, Carrick have pace and power? You wont even hear such about Sturridge, Dzeko, Giroud, Carzola, Kaka, Deco, Berbatov, etc. But for Robben it's almost every article. Robben has the most power in football. CR7 and, Messi who took growth drugs for years are at about same region of power. why raumdeuter= you are stylishly inviting him to come help you out here. kpele ![]() coogar:You keep supporting my argument that power is not about physical built or bulkiness or muscle. Azpilicueta looks like someone who gathered his energy running in the hills and along the beach while Jones just went to gym. The former will gather more natural power. Robben, Messi, Ronaldo and Tevez should normally have little plus or minus in their stats, but they are in same region of power. Robben is their oga. coogar:You don't have sense. We are supposed to be comparing brain power with physical power based on your yeye logic. I brought the best of brain power vs the best of physical power. Even if you brought a first class student of 21 years old to face me on reaction to that requires movement, I will react 1000 time faster. coogar:That's the problem. Valencia played as a defender, so they used a defender's stats to rate him in the forward position. You need to understand the way it works. It's even worse if he was analysed as a club player because he plays mostly as a right back for Man United. Azpilicueta is more powerful than Jones na. Is it by muscle? You obviously did not do sports when you were growing up. Have you seen the size of marathon runners? Do you know how much power they have? Also the builders, always looking thin, but go try them. Why do you think The Understaker is more powerful than Great Khali, Mark Henry and Kane? You have so much to learn about power. coogar:Yet stamina and strength put Blind above Akinfenwa. And you argue Akinfenwa is the most powerful footballer. Ukwu!!! Stamina and strength are just two of the eight components of a football player's physicality. Even the other rating you presented, Suarez is ahead of Akinfenwa. The two criterias you brought, Akinfenwa is not near the most physical. Yet you keep believing muscles and pgysical build is what make a player having football power. I tire for you sef.
|
coogar:Who is talking about power. I am talking about how stats can be misleading. QUESTION? Arrange the following player according to best, better and good based on this season. Who has performed most? |
Rafael's season seems to be over. Broken rib. Januzaj ankle in the U-21. Van Gaal sef. RVP had to play U-21? |
Rafael's season seems to be over. Broken rib. |
Coogar, stats are facts. Why then should Young and Mata start before Di Maria? |
coogar:When you said stamina is the other thing that has to do with power, you didnt know what you were going into because you thought stamina was about muscle. ![]() coogar:I have not deviated from my stance that Robben has the most power in terms of football playing. I only decided to argue using these computer stats because someone brought it up. coogar:You obviously is the one who doesn't know what makes up power. When commentators keep repeating that Robben has blistering pace and power, you unknown pundit is arguing otherwise. FIFA also came up with 8 physical items as a guide, yet you keep arguing otherwise. coogar:So FIFA has no clue what attributes are physical or skillful or mental? coogar:Between an old professor/Bill Gate/Wole Soyinka on one hand, and an athlete/Usian Bolt/Mike Tyson, who would react faster to physical threat? coogar:Where does Valencia play for country? Wing? In the world cup he was more of a defensive midfielder. He hardly crossed the centre line. Defenders are scored far less in speed, and acceleration. Generally defenders score less. Valencia is scored 87 in speed by FIFA 15 while some other players we know havent speed are scored more. Position has so much to do with it. Go and check and you will see that players who play in defence score less marks. Even Ramos. Logic should tell therefore that defenders should be compared with defenders. coogar:I told you from day one of this argument that Rooney doesnt have power as people would think. Although, if he played in Laliga last season, a less physical league his stats would be better. You have much to learn about this power. You needed to see Di Maria in world cup to know what power is about. He is new in EPL and he has not adjusted. This computer rating is also just a guide, it can't be 100% perfect. coogar:The fact. |
When you see slim men (lekpas), carrying blocks, raising cement bags and digging hard ground with ease, from 7am to 5pm, and for a living, you will know power is not about bulkiness. |
coogar:1. See the pictures below, you said the first man, marathon runner has power. The second men, a sprinters have no power. Yet you said physically built people have power while small people don't have power. What a contradiction? Ukwu!!! Marathon runner have the highest stamina in the world. Yet they are small. For the fact that Messi, Ronaldo, etc have high speed, stamina to match with other physical attributes, means they are powerful. Physical attributes are different from skillful attributes. Sprinting, jumping, acceleration, stamina, strength, agility, etc are all physical attributes. Even walking is a physical attribute. You see fat men walking lazily. Ball control, Dribbling, heading, shooting, chesting, curving, crossing, finishing, marking, volley etc are all skillful attributes. Mental attributes are interceptions, positioning, vision. 2. In the Kagawa vs Valencia rating, and Di maria vs Phil Jones, you have to know that these stuff are being monitored by computers based on the players performance on the field. How do you expect Valencia and Phil Jones who play in the defence for club and country to play at top speed, top acceleration, to boost their ratings? Compare forwards with forwards and defenders with defenders. Kagawa even plays in Asia competitions where physical batter is less. He is mostly unlikely to get bullied off the ball there. Aples and Oranges. Compare defenders with defenders and forwards with forwards. Coogar, you don't know football. 3. I forgot to respond to this aspect. ... If FIFA has a stat tilted PHYSICALITY, it means there is already algorithm of several items incorporated into it. When you asked who is the best maths student, the student with the highest score gets it. Not the one with a score in a particular section of the exam. All sections amount to the total marked over 100. Lest I forget, I saw a part of the stat titled beast. Guess waht, Akinfenwa is crawling in that item. ![]()

chrisley024:1. There is no doubt that Di Maria is very productive, he has lost his place to less productive Young and Mata. But when you look at the overall picture, you will conclude that stats can be misleading. Key pass per minute: Di Maria 32 mins, Janujaz 48 mins, Mata 50 mins, Young 66 mins. Assist per minutes: Di Maria 156, Mata 475, Young 549 Goals per minute: Mata 237, Di Maria 522, Young 824. Looking at the stats, tell me why Young or Mata should bench Di Maria for any reason? But we know better from what we see in matches. 2. Falcao's unsuccessful touch and dispossession is worse in the EPL than his former average from other league. The writer produced the stats per game. The fact that Falcao doesn't play 90 mins makes his dispossession more alarming. His unsuccessful touch is every 29 mins while his dispossession is every 30.5 mins. This is his stats when projected over a game of 90 mins, that is, if he were to play 90 mins regularly. Unsuccessful touch: 3 per game. Dispossession: 2.9 per game. 3. Do you think Falcao has the speed of Hernadez to outpace EPL defenders while staying on the shoulder of the CBs? Even Hernadez find it hard to do in his last two seasons before he went on loan. 4. I am sure Di Maria will be great for us once he adjust his game. I heard too they are working with him in the gym to toughen him up a little. It's just a matter of adjusting to the EPL style. He has to work on his ball retention. When he came on for Mata against City, the very forst ball he got that was totally his control, he passed it backward trying to find our defender, but it was intercepted by a City player. I am not one of those who think Falcao is finished. But he will have to rebuild his scoring confidence over several games. With four strikers in the team, the coach and fans wouldn't have that patience. Chelsea can afford to play Drogba because there is no much competition in that department. Sometimes, as a striker, if you are not scoring, you should have something else to compensate that deficiency. At the moment Falcao has nothing to compensate us with. When I saw Falcao beastly against Cheslea, I thought he was such a beast like Tevez with some skills of Maradona. May be I have not really followed him in the past. When a player like Tevez doesnt score, he puts the defence under pressure. He keeps the ball for others to run into space. When a player like Kanu doesnt score, his overall play and technique compensate. May be we should wait for next season if he will be here. His confidence at the moment is down. May be over competition in that position is also a problem. This was part of Nani's problem when competition became stiff with arrival of Valencia and Young. And Nani couldnt express himself freely. |
Dadehmola:When I first came to this thread, you were sounding like a drunkard. Honestly, even your most serious posts sounded like being typed by a drunk. You remember when you used to write bluntly like 'IS WELBECK A FOOTBALLER'? even though I was new here with confusing names all over, I have memories of some people and what early opinion I formed about them. After a while, it appeared you got delivered and refined with your posts sounding matured. Now, it look's like the demons are back, your in-house bar is reopened. Yori Yori ![]() |
chrisley024:Let's hope we return to winning ways at Goodison park. All injured players should come back now. I wished it was an EPL match Liverpool lost today. ![]() |
coogar:You keep failing yourself. The Suarez and Akinfenwa example above is highly flawed. Strength is already incorporated into your physicality stat. You yourself has said this earlier. Secondly, if CR7 has higher mark than Robben, then I have seen one player who has power than Robben. This is the genuine measurement. There is no any yeye algorithm. The only algorithm is the one off physical stat you presented that puts Suarez above Akinfenma. ![]() |
SailorXY, you guys should discuss how we are to finish top 4 before you talk next season? City and Liverpool still putting pressure on us. |
coogar:We are not discussing strong but power. The items 8 listed, Akinfenwa is a lazy footballer. Chikena. coogar:You said Suarez is 79. Ukwu!!! So Suarez is the strongest footballer abi? Go back to the real stats- the 8 items. Robben is the highest among you mentioned. Robben has 663 total. Now case closed finally finally. |
coogar:Strong doesnt mean 'football power'. There is a separate list for strong. If Hulk Hogan enrols as a footballer today, he would be the strongest man. But it wont mean he he has football power. Pace and power. coogar:He is only strong. We are talking of football power. When they keep saying Robben has pace and power. FIFA 15 stated 8 items under a clear header titled 'PHYSICAL'. |
coogar:*What am I to do with google when there are stats? * Why do you want me to pay attention to the last two when we have 8. Even Akinfenwa is weak in stamina and you still say he has football power. Someone who will gas out if he were to chase Januzaj twice. |
coogar:But he is not the most powerful from our analysis using the FIFA stat. Robben is. coogar:Robben doesnt get bullied off the ball? How is Pogba and Emenike the most powerful? Pogba Physical 75 Acceleration 79 Agility 60 Balance 87 Jumping 78 Reactions 77 Sprint Speed 87 Stamina 90 Strength Emenike Physical 89 Acceleration 66 Agility 68 Balance 63 Jumping 80 Reactions 87 Sprint Speed 81 Stamina 90 Strength |
coogar:If you have been reading my posts since last week, I have said emphatically that power in football is not about speed alone, and it's definitely not about body built. My posts are there. Footballing is not weight lifting so we are not talking about bulk body where a player becomes a monument. On the other hand, I cannot say Ahmed Musa has power, despite his speed. This is why I said there are components. Last week, Chrisley asked me if it's about physical strength, I said no, that there are components. Now, FIFA 15 appeared to have helped me a great deal to break down the components. I think the 8 components of a player's physical under FIFA 15 is the best comprehensive representation of a football player's power on the field especially when scored over 800. As for Akinfenwa, he doesn't have football power. He shouldn't even have been a footballer. I wonder how much body pains he feels when he gets home after training and matches. Since I came on this thread, I have never referred to such players as having football power (pace and power). I mentioned Ramires and Robben in the very first few months I got here. I also added Toure after a while. Now that it's obvious we are not on same page on what it means when it's said a player is having pace and power, I wonder how I am going to be describing such players to you guys understanding. Even commentators and sports journalists frequently use 'pace and power' for Robben. |
coogar:I have addressed all your objections and you keep repeating things I have already addressed. I told you there are 8 items under physical. Now you brought a figure without source. From your figure, Akinfenwa is just 1 mark above Blind. You told us last week Akinfenwa is the most physical player in the world. So now, may be Blind is the second most physical. Ukwu!!! Your Walcott speed argument has been taken care of in my previous posts. It's hereby render useless. Happy Sunday. |
Van Gaal: United played their best match of the season at Chelsea BBC: Louis, do you feel unlucky not to have won this game? VG: It doesn't matter how I feel, I think. BBC: But on possession, and on the amount of time you spent in Chelsea's half, you would say that you were at least as good as they were? VG: I don't have to say it. In football it's only counting the goals and they scored one goal. It was the first shot on the goal and, against Crystal Palace, I believe it was in the 90th minute, so they did better today. BBC: Are you frustrated by what you've seen? VG: I am not frustrated, I am very proud of my team. Why do I have to be frustrated? BBC: Just at losing the game... VG: We played the best match of the season. BBC: Is that how highly you rate the performance, yeah? VG: Yeah, you don't? BBC: No, I'm just interested in how you see it... VG: Okay, that's good ... that you are interested. BBC: You changed things around today because you had to. Did it work exactly as you intended it to, with Wayne Rooney back in midfield? VG: When I say that we played the best match of the world, and is this a rhetorical question, I think. BBC: What about the incident at the end? Should you have had a penalty? VG: When you want to evaluate the referee then also you have to evaluate the first goal. In my opinion, that's the main decision of the referee. BBC: Are you taking issue with what you feel maybe is a foul on [Radamel] Falcao? VG: Maybe you can watch on television. Repetition, maybe. BBC: Do you think it was a foul on Falcao in the build-up? VG: So! You know that?! Okay... BBC: Thanks, Louis. http://www.goal.com/en/news/9/england/2015/04/19/10913242/van-gaal-united-played-their-best-match-of-the-season-at?ICID=HP_BN_5 Really? Any way I don log out so. |
coogar:Darley Blind 92 Stamina 73 Strength Akinfenwa 59 Stamina 97 Strength According to you, Daley Blind is more powerful than Akindenwa. Akinfenwa total in Stamina and Strength is 156. Blind is 165. I had to highlight the above. Akinfenwa doesn't have football power. He is better suited a weight lifter. Football power is not about muscle or grabbis or built like a gorila. I am sure if this Akinfenwa chases Januzaj twice, he would be tired for the rest of the game. Then even Mata will just be having a free strol past him in the rest of the match. Is that the player you said has power? Someone who cannot last? Someone without a resilience? A monument? Football is a mobile game, for you to be seen in having power for the game or in the game of football, so much energy has to be seen in you movement, sprint movements, some with jumping ability, and it has to be seen throughout a game. I have to go. |
coogar:That means they actually are more physical than Robben. You can be skillful and technical and still be physical. You can be skillful and technical with no much physicality. You can be physical with little skills and technique -a low profile footballer with power. Many of them in African leagues. ![]() coogar:Reaction has everything to do with power. Lazy players won't react fast. Someone like Mikel. ![]() coogar:Ukwu!!! All these are the core component of power. Acceleration= This has some stuff to do with power. Jumping= Any one who can jump has power. You need to build your upper muscle and other exercises to be able to jump high or long. Sprint speed= This is all about power. Consistent sprint speed over 50 meter (without fluctuation in speed) is about power. When an athlete has top speed and it fluctuates, he will need to build his upper muscle. Stamina= See my comment below. A component of physicality but not about muscle or bulkiness. Strength= This has something to do with power, particularly in the sense of physical built and ability to lift weight. However, it's just one component of football power. coogar:The bolded reveals to me you did not do outdoor sports. Stamina is about how durable one can last. Normally, slim players should last longer if they have done the right exercises from childhood. Slim athletes who burn much energy training long hours from childhood should have more stamina. This is why marathon runners have so much stamina. When I was playing, I had a lot of stamina. I could do 1,500 meters very well, beating those who beat me in sprint race. My sprint speed was later increased when I was introduced to weight lifting. But weight did not alter my slim built, the power is inside my body. Darley Blind Physical 68 Acceleration 73 Agility 72 Balance 66 Jumping 83 Reactions 64 Sprint Speed 92 Stamina 73 Strength So according to you, Blind is very powerful. Akinfenwa 59 Stamina 97 Strength Akinfenwa total in Stamina and Strenght is 156. Blind is 165. Coogar give up! I am discussing practical but you are talking theory. ![]() coogar:Sprint is part of power. FIFA acknowledges this. Why distorting facts? When you watch football and you see someone run with so much energy, force and consistently over 40-50 yards, just know that player has power. If the speed fluctuates, the person doesn't have power. I might not be able to respond again. I will be too busy. |
coogar:Who are these players? It's you your simple IQ has failed because I have proven that Robben has power based on stat. Of all the players you guys said have power more than Robben, stats show he beat them in physical attributes. If at all there is a footballer out there with higher score under physicality, then it means the footballer has power more than Robben. coogar:The post is saying, power in football (usually used while referring to pace and power), is not about body built. |
coogar:You are the STARK illiterate here because you are arguing with facts. Total Physical Lahm= 639 Total Physical Robben = 663 coogar:Balance is just one component. I was buttressing my earlier point that physical muscle or body built has nothing to do with power- when talking about pace and power in football, I can never say Daniel Shittu has pace and power. Neither would I say Super Eagles Ogbude has pace and power. But Ramires has pace and power. Sanchez has pace and power. Kagawa doesn't have pace and power even if he has one or two components going for him. coogar:you were part of the argument before I brought Oshoala's example. I never said that Balance is the sole determinant of power. I have always said, power in football means a different thing than power like Hulk Hogan. Hulk Hogan, no matter how he strikes the ball, won't hit it well beyond 40 yards. But let Mata hit it. coogar:What is Kagawa's total under physicality? |
coogar:All these is nonsense. Give up already. This is a flawless victory for me. Agility has its own marks. Strength has its own mark. Balance, which is a different entiry, has its mark. All these are some of the components of a player PHYSICALITY coogar:* You have shot yourself. As you claim, if agility determines balance, how come Lahm with less agility than Robben has more balance? * Balance is just one component of power. How did Lahm fare in other components? There are some players who did well in jumping but didnt have other components to back up. Philipp Lahm FC Bayern • Germany FIFA 15 Physical 77 Acceleration 83 Agility 92 Balance 72 Jumping 92 Reactions 76 Sprint Speed 88 Stamina 59 Strength Robben Physical 93 Acceleration 93 Agility 91 Balance 61 Jumping 89 Reactions 93 Sprint Speed 78 Stamina 65 Strength Remember, stats are facts. Coogar, today is Sunday. I am going to enjoy my weekend. This argument has been over since. |
If it were Phil Jones who made that pass to Falcao, they would have said he had no brain because Falcao didnt want the ball at all. Look at how Oscar easily lured Smalling away. Even me, I knew what Oscar was going to do. Talking of making a player look bad! It's so easy to do. ![]() |
coogar:Robben has the most power in football. How many times will I repeat myself? You know zero about football. Balance is about how you stand firm after a PHYSICAL CHALLENGE. FIFA 15 definition. If you consider the 8 components listed by FIFA, Robben has more power than Sanchez. Then Sanchez > Toure > Rooney. This is FIFA stats corroborating exactly what I have been saying. It wasnt me who even started the FIFA 15 start. Someone else brought it and shot himself. Remember, stats are facts. |
Dadehmola:I am teaching people who don't know what having power in football is about. They have always, in fact all their life thought that power is muscle in football. It's shocking when football fans who claim to know too much, don't even know what pace and power in football means. Imagine, someone was describing long shot as part of power. Ukwu!!! Long shot is just about shot accuracy from outside the box. Another had earlier said sprint speed is about football skills. ![]() |

even a goat must know your formula does not in any way prove who is more powerful. anyways, i am sure you get the point now that strength & stamina are the most important factors in determining who is more powerful, not balance as you first claimed.
