coogar:Arsenal would have won the league with Rooney's over team play. Not one who wants to score all the goals and block the routes to others. |
coogar:BigniNya is mostly on his own. I have to invite him before he appears. |
coogar:RVP is just an opportunist. We were positioned to win the 2012/13 title after Scholes had returned to help us from day 1. Our injuries too were far better. RVP that couldnt win with Fabregas, Song, Nasri, Walcott, Ashanvi, all supporting him. He left and Arsenal resurrected. |
I can see chrisley024, the number 2 Rooney perpetual hater and Coogar's number 1 ally. ![]() Come on guy. |
SailorXY:Rooney has been a great midfielder under SAF before Herrera and co and so shall it be for ever. Rooney in midfield we won successive matches with 3-5-2. With 4-4-2, Rooney will destroy teams in the midfield. Like he destroyed Villa, Stoke etc in the past. I cant imagine how free Rooney will be to annihilate opponents when there are Valencia, Young, Fellaini out there, plus Jones and Smalling giving him a high defence line. mehn...... |
Mancini didnt know what he was saying. He was trying to blame the board for his failure when he knew sack was inevitable. |
coogar:You need to take some logic lessons. If Scholes were around or without too many injuries in 2011/12, we wont even play Europa. We would have won the league in March. City fighting spirit would have died in January. Not to mention SAF goofings in dropping Rooney against Blackburn. He underrated Wigan and Newcastle and dropped Scholes in one or both games. |
Let Herrera, Carrick and Mata play in the midfield in 3-5-2 formation and let's see if they wont be slaughtered. Not to mention playing with McNair as one of the three. Or having Januzaj, falling falling Falcao, posssion losing Di Maria in the team too. When Herrera, Carrick and Mata played against Wayanma, they got devoured for lunch. Ukwu! |
coogar:Stop quoting me. Your opinion is only good for your fantasy. Rooney is our best striker at the moment. Chikena! Goals, Assists and Chances created are the best. His overall build up play and balance on the ball is best for us. It's easy to praise Herrera and co when we have won 6/6. The last time we won 7/7 or in the 10 match unbeaten run, Rooney was in our midfield playing in front of three defenders. We had two hyenas losing possessions in the attack as they get bullied off the ball. We didnt have Fellaini, Carrick and Young fit all though that period. YET WE WON 7/7. |
Without RVP we did better in 2011/2012. If Scholes had played the whole of 2011/12, we would have won the league by March ending. With Scholes around in 2012/13, Chicha /& Welbeck would have delivered the goals in front of Rooney. They were better equipped than they were in 2011/12. * 2011/12 without Van Persie, Man United 89 points/ 89 goals scored/ 33 GA/ GD +56 * 2012/13 with Van Persie, Manchester United 89 pts/ 86 GF/ 43 GA/ 43 +GD Man City lost form towards the end of 2012/13 season and that made it easy for us. RVP added no value what so ever. We would still have won it. |
Story story, story!!!!! Coogar, enjoy you fantasy football of Man United team/squad without Rooney. Everyone else who shares your dreams can keep aligning with you every time. As for me, you can never tortoise me. |
nyabinghi:Coogar is a case, I swear. I have never seen where one is so persistent in bringing only negative things to run someone down. Nothing this guy has not brought forward to use to negative-mark Rooney for about three years I have been here. I remember that goal Ilisted above against Fulham. The game was deadlock at 89th minute and Rooney scored a most intelligent goal from a solo effort in a tight run-in of 2012/13. Yet we get told Rooney just blast the ball he doesnt place it. My guy. Take care. I want to log out for a long time. |
coogar:Rooney has destroyed all big clubs in EPL. He has scored most goals against City. He has destroyed them with bicycle kicks, headers etc.He scored a vital goal for an important first leg away lone goal win at Stamford Bridge in only UCL fixture there. This season he has scored against Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham. In one of our recent matches, Rooney's goal was wrongly cancelled. I think that was against Spurs when he rounded the keeper. Against Arsenal his was wrongly called offside once and in another occasion, Di MARIA wasted his good see through pass. Enough said for now. I have already checkmated twice. Have a good day. ![]() |
What about touches again. Go and check RVP, COSTA and co, they have recorded lower touches even in games they scored. Rooney was well involved that was what matter. Even 2012/13 I am sure you will have many RVP lower number of touches. Na wao! Coogar sef! Wetin u see for Rooney side? |
Go and sleep, you have been checkmated. If Rooney had continued playing the number 9 after the QPR game, he would be on 25 goals already. If we prorate his time in the number even at this run-in Rush back to striking role, Rooney is doing very great. I am not even adding assist. |
^^^ Rooney was subbed out on 86th minute. Then Rooney scored a goal in 18 minutes on his return as a striker this year. ![]() Finito! |
coogar: elampiro:Even using your logic, you are not helping yourself. You claimed he played 22 minutes upfront against Sunderland and he scored. This is even better than scoring 2 goals in 90 minutes. Let's end this. |
coogar:Rooney said he played upfront. The man himself has spoken. Forget all these megedefede stuff you are presenting. |
Even Rooney himself said he played upfront. Not in midfield. The 29-year-old said, “No, not at all. Everyone knows I've played midfield for the majority of the season but my record shows that I score goals so I'm not worried about that at all. “I was obviously pleased that the manager played me up front and delighted to get the two goals. I respect his decision wherever he wants to play me. Hopefully I can kick on from here.” http://www.sportskeeda.com/football/manchester-united-wayne-rooney-defends-under-fire-teammate-angel-di-maria-sunderland-performance |
coogar:You have been checkmated already! Di Maria left at half time and he played in 4-4-2 according to daily mail. ![]() |
coogar:Starts may be facts but not formation charts- remember the ozil failure of OPTA last season. Now Coolie-guy quoting megedefegede websites. |
coogar:Manchester United 01 de Gea 25 A Valencia Booked 12 Smalling 06 Evans 05 Rojo 21 Herrera 17 Blind 07 Di María (Januzaj - 45' ) 10 Rooney (Mata - 86' ) 18 Young 09 Falcao (Fellaini - 68' ) Substitutes 08 Mata 11 Januzaj 13 Lindegaard 16 Carrick 31 Fellaini 33 McNair 49 Wilson End of discussion. Daily mail said it was 4-4-2 when Di Maria was in. Di Maria played first half only, therefore United played 4-4-2 from the blast of the whistle. Checkmate! |
coogar:Coolieguy Tortoise, Let me help you. All these football websites are all subscribed to opta and have opta permission to use their starting line up charts to run their website. However, the reports gives the actual match details. If uno con understand, na u know. Rooney and Falcao paired as striker. Chikena. Many media outlets said it. |
Hahahahahahahaha, see OPTA logo (powered by opta) on Coolieguy's chart. Right upper corner. AjigbijigbijigbiThis guy no dey understand these charts, their source and their purpose. |
elampiro: Coolie-guy Tortoise still relying on feeds from opta after giving him several post match reports and analysis. Ukwu!!! ![]() |
In that 13 match period of RVP drought in 2012/13, Rooney scored 6 goals playing in the number 10 and in the wing. Just a similar thing Mata and Herrera are doing for us now when Rooney may not score. EPL Man Utd 2 - 1 Southampton.......... 2 goals Wayne Rooney. 2 goals 2 EPL Fulham 0 - 1 Man Utd.................. 1 goal Wayne Rooney EPL Man Utd 2 - 0 Everton UCL Real Madrid 1 - 1 Man Utd EPL QPR 0 - 2 Man Utd EPL Man Utd 4 - 0 Norwich ............ 1 goal Wayne Rooney, 2 Assist. UCL Man Utd 1 - 2 Real Madrid ..........Played as a 2nd half sub in a 10-man United. FA Man Utd 2 - 2 Chelsea................Rooney 1 goal. EPL Man Utd 1 - 0 Reading............ Rooney 1 goal EPL Man Utd 1 - 2 Man City He could have made it 7 or 8 goals if he was not unselfish to give Kagawa an assist where he was clear to score himself. Football is a team work. When we should be happy that we are doing well now, some people love starting problems and shortliving our celebrations. Rooney is doing a good team play and handling defenders well. He is not bullied off the ball and his movements distracts the central defenders. |
Between January 20th and March 11th, Costa went through these 7 consecutive matches without scoring a goal. Yet Rooney only missed one match without scoring and someone wants to die. Rooney even Assisted sef- against City giant defenders that can pocket a striker. Liverpool 1 - 1 Chelsea Chelsea 1 - 0 Liverpool Paris St-G. 1 - 1 Chelsea Chelsea 1 - 1 Burnley Chelsea 2 - 0 Tottenham West Ham 0 - 1 Chelsea Chelsea 2 - 2 Paris St-G. In 2012/13, between January 30th and April 8th, RVP went 13 straight matches with just one goal scored against Everton. He went the last 10 below without scoring. Yet this was RVP at his scoring peak. Man Utd 2 - 1 Southampton Fulham 0 - 1 Man Utd Man Utd 2 - 0 Everton Real Madrid 1 - 1 Man Utd Man Utd 2 - 1 Reading QPR 0 - 2 Man Utd Man Utd 4 - 0 Norwich Man Utd 1 - 2 Real Madrid Man Utd 2 - 2 Chelsea Man Utd 1 - 0 Reading Sunderland 0 - 1 Man Utd Chelsea 1 - 0 Man Utd Man Utd 1 - 2 Man City * I ask again, why do some guys here hate Rooney so much? Even Harry Kane they shout about, we saw him and Rooney pair against Italy, Kane didn't look like scoring or doing anything meaningful even if the match was extended for another 500 minutes. Scoring in the closing stages of the season is usually hard for renowned strikers who are targeted for serious marking, particularly when it involves solid defenders from big teams. * BinghiNya / Nyabinghi , hope you can see why I argue heavily sometimes. A striker has to play a full season in striking position before he can hit 25 goals plus because there will be ups and downs in the strikers work on the field. Period of free scoring and period of drought. |
Wayne Rooney and Radamel Falcao led the line after Louis van Gaal's claims of not having a reliable striker On the surface, it looked like the old Manchester United. It was a formation which was as close to 4-4-2 as you can get in the modern game. The wingers, Ashley Young and Angel Di Maria, were playing as wide as they could and there were two recognised strikers, in Wayne Rooney and Radamel Falcao up front. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2973519/Manchester-United-2-0-Sunderland-Wayne-Rooney-answers-calls-reliable-striker.html Another daily mailreport, this time it's analysis: Keep Wayne Rooney up front Van Gaal recently bemoaned his lack of a 20-goals-a-season striker. He already has one, he has just not played him in the right position for long chunks of the campaign. It is no surprise that Rooney's return to a striking role has coincided with more goals from the England man who averages more than the 20 Van Gaal craves in a red shirt. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2978945/Manchester-United-winning-ugly-won-t-forever-10-things-Louis-van-Gaal-fix-season.html .................... Even ESPN says same thing. ayagayagayagayo heu ayagayagayagayo |
Wayne Rooney: I’m “ready” to play up front for Man United again By Ibrahim AkkasPosted on March 2, 2015 Wayne Rooney has insisted that he is capable of playing up front and is more than ready to play in that role for Man United, should Louis van Gaal ask him to start in that position again, reports Man United’s official website. Rooney, 29, reverted to his more favoured role of playing in the striking position against Sunderland at the weekend. The decision by Van Gaal to play the Man United skipper in the most advanced role was a wise call against Sunderland, as the England international produced two goals to send the Black Cats packing. Rooney’s goalscoring form has been critiqued and questioned by many, with some arguing that a player of his quality should be scoring more Premier League goals this season. But the England skipper isn’t too fussed, claiming his goal record shows he scores more often than not. Rooney said: “Everyone knows I’ve played midfield for the majority of the season but my record shows that I score goals so I’m not worried about that at all “I was obviously pleased that the manager played me up front and I was delighted to get the two goals but the victory was the main thing today because after last week [when United lost to Swansea] it was important that we bounced back.” Against Sunderland – Rooney had a 80% shot accuracy Furthermore, Rooney was also asked whether he’d like to carry on playing as a striker for Man United, the 29-year-old revealed he’s ready to play in the role again. Rooney said: “Well, that’s down to the manager. I’ve said before that it’s his decision and I respect his decision, wherever he wants to play me. “I’ve played there throughout my career so obviously I know how to play up front. So I’m ready to play there if and when he wants me to do it.” So far this season, Rooney has bagged ten Premier League goals in 23 league outings. Furthermore, the England international has also been an creative force too. The 29-year-old has created 36 chances, assisting four times. Only Angel Di Maria (44) has created more than Rooney at Man United this season. The Red Devils’ next game is a potentially awkward clash against Newcastle United on Wednesday evening. http://www.squawka.com/news/wayne-rooney-im-ready-to-play-up-front-for-man-united-again/316926 ...................... Coogar relies on charts and graphs source from opta instead of believing what he watched with his kolokolo eyes. |
coogar:stop being a learner. dailymail gets its feed from opta too, check their charts in match zone. most of these websites rely on opta but you have to be wise to read their post match reports and players rating as in comments. anyway we will resume this argument when kane aguero Costa score 27 epl goals. Kane that didn't know his left from his right against Italy. Yeye pundit Coolieguy. |
coogar:I have proven it in the past before. Even you said we should never rely on these charts from whoscored and OPTA. We were arguing past line ups. All I know is that Rooney has 6 goals as a striker, you are making a case for RVP to start against Chelsea. It wont happen Coolie-guy Tortoise. I know where you are headed. Good night. |
coogar:Go to goal.com post match report, my friend. |
