I never knew Lewndowsky could miss an empty net from 3 yards. Suarez missed two one vs one. No United striker has had any of such obvious chances in 2015. These guys always praised here missed unbelievable massive chances tonight. |
Those of you whose daily dinner is to blame Rooney can continue. Rooney should take the blame for RVP penalty miss. Rooney should take the blame for RVP blocking Ashley Young effort on target which could also have been redirected by Rooney. Rooney should be blamed for Fellaini's sluggishness to react to a rebound. Rooney should be blamed for Young's wrong decision to stop a rebound instead of slotting it in first time. Rooney should be blamed for McNair's free header missed from mouth of the goal. Rooney should be blamed for McNair's not taking charge of the situation that led to the free kick. Rooney should be blamed for Di Maria's wayward crossings. Rooney should be blamed for Mata's waste of all the balls cut back to him in front of box. Rooney should be blamed for three goals conceded against Everton. He should be blamed for Herrera's refusal to shoot but choosing to over dribble inside the box. Rooney should be blamed for Smalling passing to falling falling Falcao even though marked by Terry, Rooney to take the blame for Falcao not being physical enough to allow him fouled by Terry. Blame Rooney, blame Rooney and all your life problems will be solved. You guys can continue. Na una know. |
James lost Madrid tonight's match when scores was 1-1. He missed an empty net from 3 yards. Madrid has lost it since selling Di Maria. Bale is not a tikitaka player. Bale would have thrived if Di Maria were still there tearing oppositions from midfield and starting a swift counter. Madrid always wants names. James is not matured yet. |
SailorXY:It happens. It's always greener at the other side. Costa who is a crowned striker for Chelsea without distractions or real competitors to shake his confidence, went for a longer period without a goal. In 2012/13 RVP went for about 10 matches without a goal. This is not how to read football. ehe, I remeber something, the other day you said Hazard is not Chelsea's best player. I guess you heard what Fabregas said today. He said Hazard was the reason for their success this season. He went further to say he can be like Messi. This is the second time this season, Fabregas is stating that Hazard is Chelsea's hero. Mourinho earlier crowned Hazard as the best player in the EPL. The professionals players also voted him as the best ahead of English boy and 20 goals hero- Kane. When I look at you guys sense of judgement in football, particularly as in pertains to players comparison, I sometimes wonder if you guys just take side just to counter people. It's somehow. I dont even know what to say sef. |
weedtaker:How is Rooney blocking Mata? Rooney has not played the number 10 more than 5 times this season. We dont need Bale, but Bale is a zillion mile ahead of Chicha in football. Bale is only having an off period. Chicha did nothing tonight. If Rooney play that way as Chicha did, he will be crucified on this thread. But that your guy, Verane is a disgrace. He is not better than McNair or Evans. |
Kemizee:You forgot to add that Rooney is not as clinical as almighty Falcao. Ukwu!!! Every striker outside Man United is better than Rooney in you guys' opinion. Sometimes at this time last year, it was being mentioned how Rooney was rubbish compared to strikers earning 250k and beyond- Falcao, Ibrahimovic, Cavani etc. Many of you would have sanctioned a 60 million transfer for Falcao. Now Falcao is here. Some are still calling Kagawa that flopped and left. ![]() |
SailorXY:RVP's forward passes to Fellaini were a wrong decision from RVP even though he meant well. All our good chances came from the moves from the wings. The centre backs were probably very happy to be seeing that- Fellaini receiving the ball directly in their shield. The two hand balls by W.Brom defenders inside their box came from the right wing. The penalty apeal when Young was fouled came from the wing. All the forward passes from the middle were a gift to West Brom eventually. No real threat from there. Rooney made a good forward pass to RVP in the first half which could have easily resulted to a goal. That is how a forward pass should be made. Even Barca attack far more through the wings. Rooney is our best number 10. Take it or leave it. What he has achieved there will ever be a dream to those guys you mentioned. Just look at how our midfielders were dusted in term of creativity and swift play by Everton. What movements have did they offer in that match? |
chrisley024:Rooney began the Dm role against Chelsea, then later it looked like a two CMs setting. Then later Herrera sat deeper. Even if you want to dispute this, you cannot dispute the fact that Blind-Herrera-Fellaini-Mata and Young handed us the embarrassing show at Everton. Everton were more purposeful in their movements against our supposed creative players. While our midfielders passed the ball around slowly and purposelessly, Everton passed us around with better intelligence and more swiftly. Them also countered our midfield so easily. Everton midfield out played our midfield hands down. Forget the possession. We only passed around slowly and lazily. As for the freshness, it matters. Chelsea and Man City couldn't end the season with same way they started because most of their regular players ae fatigued. They however have the experience to see them through with their less adventurous play which give less room for opposition to explore. As far back as 2008, Tevez was able to identify the fact that Man United with a younger team would had the freshness to end the league well as opposed to Man City and Chelsea with aged players featuring regularly. As for the lack of movement you mentioned, where I blame the coach for now is the way he refused to protect the back with his all attacking play. |
SailorXY, Herrera played in front of Rooney in part of the Chelsea match. He played the AM against Everton in 90 mins. Against West Brom, he joined the attacking play in the closing stages. All of them joined in the slow passing game. Where was the intelligence you are talking about? These guys (Fellaini, Mata and Herrera) are tired from just a few successive matches handed to them. Although Herrera looks fresher than the other two. |
What we suffer today is the fact that Ferguson boys were not the possession obsessed typed and since the attempt to mix them with passers like Kagawa, Mata, ect there has been a problem to those who were already used to the old method of counter attack and running riot from the deep at defenders. Rooney, Nani, Valencia, Welbeck, Anderson, Fletcher, etc. We used to score many even in 2011/12. This is the same problem Di Maria is facing. However, we should know that Man City did not build their team in one day. Even Barca, they were not as effective in 2007 or 2008. Even with mighty Ibrahimovic, they struggled beause they were still adjusting and blending players. By next season players like Di Maria might be able to cary the team and live up to their transfer tag. |
Ferguson never wanted to sell Rooney. Why are people spreading lies? Ferguson told fans that Rooney requested for a transfer but that he wouldn't let Rooney go anywhere. He even said he told Rooney to go think it over. Rooney also requested to be given a one match leave that period and Ferguson obliged him. I wonder sometimes if people don't follow news pertaining to this club even when SAF spoke to the fans. ...................... I dont know why people always want to blame Rooney. Rooney played well against West Brom and was very lively particularly in the first half. He made an intelligent volley to RVP but someone how RVP delayed his movement and allowed West Brom defender to recover. He made good passes and movements. Fellaini was the player who was off, and he has been since Chelsea match. Zouma, Yacob, etc can now win aerial duels from Felaini. And he has only played about 10 matches successively, tired from plying 10 matches in a row. Compared that with Rooney who has been over used from playing too many games in the midfield. Rooney started the season as our best striker up to the QPR match. Then he was withdrawn to number 10 for Falcao and RVP upfront. From number 10 he was making assists and scoring against West Ham and Arsenal. Even against City he had an impressive outing on his return from 3 match suspension. After being our best player away to Arsenal, Rooney was dropped to midfield the following match due to injuries in that department. From the forwards roles he was used to, Rooney was moved for a rescue mission in deep midfield. We got impressive results, then later we dropped a few points but never dropped 6 points in two matches, not even dropping more than 5 points in 3 straight matches. Then people blamed Rooney's play in midfield just because United werent getting 100% wins, no body saw how much protection he offered in the absense of Carrick and 3-man defence. While Falcao and RVP lazied away in attack, Rooney was busy in the deep protecting a back three with a rookie defender, sometimes Evans/Blacket and McNair in the back three. Now we have lost three straight people can now appreciate Rooney's deep sitting in the absence of Carrick earlier in the season. Fast forward much later, Rooney who is tired from a long season filling the gaps, people still want to blame him. The players who have been resting should be the ones carrying the team now. Rooney's mobility wouldnt be at optimal level at this time. However, Rooney is still the best to trick centre backs off position to create space than Fellaini and RVP. Fellaini was just there with two centre backs, clogging our attacking route with traffic and RVP kept sending the ball to him there. Fellaini was never going to hurt from there, he is not Benzema or Aguero. RVP is also guilty of immobility most times when he plays the number 9. Although he can be expected to shoot, even though most might just be tamed easily by the goalkeeper. Emaprince and Tval, Seriously I was thinking this weedtaker is Coogar in disguise. |
A coach chooses his penalty taker. It's make no sense to change him because he lost one. This is confidence killer. Although I think Mata will do well in penalties. But now there's a fear the boss is watching and counting. |
Caveatemptor:I will do it at night. I am very busy. My guy u no get internet to check EPL website or Wikipedia - search man united 2009/10 etc |
Caveatemptor:Everyone on this thread knows you are the one who is lying here. See you at night for details. Go to EPL website or BBC or whoscored to check. Rooney has scored 26 and 27 EPL goals. If you add UCL he has scored over 30. have a nice day. |
What are these guys saying ? Fellaini and Rooney played behind RVP. RVP is supposed to be sharpest. He has been resting his muscles. Most players who play regularly have all had a diminishing return as the season is ending. This is strikers score less as the season is ending, except those who rested. Fellaini has been woeful since Chelsea game. He can't even win aerial duels anymore. Goal. com said on Saturday that his aerial dominance is gone. I was surprised he still makes the team. Kagawa was never an EPL material. I said it after his first season. |
weedtaker:This is a big lie. Rooney asked for transfer but Ferguson said he will not allow Rooney to go, that Rooney should go think it over. I will post the comments later in the day. If Falcao cannot bench Rooney then no one else will. All these names you mentioned are not better than Wilson or Falcao. |
Caveatemptor:Rooney has scored more than 25 goals twice. 2009/10 and 2011/12. You guys can bore and tire someone on this thread. The other guy find all the excuses to defend RVP and Falcao and Di Maria but blamed Rooney on flimsy excuses. Hatred comments can never take away from Rooney who he is. If Rooney is allowed to concentrate on his best positions 10 and 9 he will always deliver. |
It looks to me that having a strong defence is more important than having a strong attack. In 2007/2008 we won many matches one nil. Teams were packing bus when we played them but they were helpless in hurting us on the counter. Eventually they collapsed under sustained pressure. Look at how Chelsea won many matches 1-0, 2-1 etc. |
Next week when Liverpool play Chelsea, one team will see it as a serious business while the other will just be trying to represent their colour. We must not look at another to help us. Bayern Munich usually drop more points when they have rounded up the league. Same thing that happened to Man United in 2006/2007 and 2012/2013. |
patrickmuf:What has wages got to do with the match of yesterday? And what role are you talking about? Rooney did excellently well in the first half yesterday. He lobbed an excellent through ball to RVP. The second half, the coach messed up the build up process with his re-arrangement. RVP ordinarily suppose to be the one lifting the team now because he is fresh at the very end of the season when others are exhausted. He is also supposed to be the most hungry considering the team went into the top 4 in his absence when he couldnt help. Now he has the opportunity to help. Lest I forget, there are players in the team who earn close to Rooney- Falcao and RVP. Remove Rooney's image right (which he deserves), he earns same as RVP and Falcao. It's even less than Falcao's. |
chrisley024:We ought to have sealed it by now. What if Liverpool beat Chelsea? I no wan hear......... |
In the first half, RVP played as the striker. What on earth now made RVP withdrawn to attacking midfield while lazy Fellaini who can not shoot hard, who is slow to react, became the striker in the second half? If we are going to continue with this philosophy, then we need players with dribbling skills like Messi and Neymar to unlock a tight defence. Nani is the best among all available United players. Di Maria will thrive better than others when we have to try to unlock 'sadine tightly packed' defnece. Play Di Maria where we played Mata (RW) or RVP (AMR) in the second half, Fellaini or Mata should sit out in the next match. If the threat against us is limited, then it's the more reason Di Maria should start as there is less to do defensively. The defenders should be less adventurous, same with the DM. Next season we should get a proper DM with some pace and tackling skills to match other technical qualities. |
Man United has now lost three games in a row for the first time since 2001. Smalling and McNair recorded zero tackles. At half time, I thought our players should know how important it was to miss having one point from the game. I told my self, if they dont let us score, then we shouldnt allow them the opportunity of threatening us. A draw would have meant that we needed a win and a draw to qualify for UCL. Now we need two wins if Liverpool find the form that had earlier in the year. |
debosky:There were two penalties denied United prior to that. And how was that an awoof penalty? |
There are days you just settle for at least a draw. If you don't score, they shouldn't score you. The inexperienced McNair cost us again. He wasn't in charge of the situation that led to the free kick. I also blame our players who were in the scramble for the ball and they let West Brom out of that scramble in their area. No one wanted to commit a foul, and there wouldn't have been even a yellow card considering the ball was being fought for by many players of both sides. What should have been a harmless free kick in West Brom area became a dangerous free kick in the edge of our box. I believe Phil Jones reads the game far better than Smalling. From Chelsea's game till yesterday, Smalling leaves McNair unprotected and unguided countless times. Jones would most likely have acted as the sweeper behind McNair after all the errors from McNair. When we played 3 at the back earlier in the season with different defenders being used as the lone CB, Smalling proved to be one needing dependence as compared to Jones who can play so easily independently from another good partner. I still want to believe that the freshness of Mata and Fellaini helped them in the 6 win run. Both are now a shadow of what they were just some weeks back. Mata had the best opportunity to set up our strikers or shoot from outside the box, but he was lacking in all the balls cut back to him by Valencia. Here I missed Nani. Nani would have shot a thunder with his left foot or dribble through. Mata should rest for Di Maria to play with his left foot cutting/drifting inward from the right side. Too many passes, no dribbling through into the 18 yard box. Although we created chances. McNair missed a free header, Young and Fellaini missed simple rebounds. Fellaini is a lazy player. Sluggish to react. RVP stopping a goal bound shot that would have easily be redirected into the net by Rooney, although he was playing back to the goal post. I think the referee made it hard for us a little. |
IYANGBALI:We should beat West Brom. From a few of their matches I have seen, they are incapable of hurting an opposition if they are not given an opportunity to counter, or score from mistakes (so to say). Their attacking play is not so coordinated. Man United shouldn't go into the match with the intention of winning 4-0. There should be conservative approach, a plan to cut off W.Brom attacking building which they usually start from the deep. They often lose concentration by time they get to the final third. Nevertheless, we shouldn't go all out and taking them for granted. I am very sure they are going to seat deep. A two nil win will be okay. We should cautiously push for an early goal and never allow them to get into the game. |
PietroRico:I no remember anything like that again o. |
tess1:If you were here at the start of last season, you must have read how SAF was slaughtered with comments about mishandling Morrison's case. That was because Morrison was playing well at the time. My guy, everyone becomes a pundit when there is an opportunity to assess decisions from hindsight. This is why the job of the sports writers is far easier than that of a manager. Millions read papers report as against a few who are privy to board room decision processes. In the heat of the title fight of 2011/2012 which was probably the toughest ever for SAF, I am sure no United fan in their right senses called for Pogba to be given a starting place. Scholes' return was a big relief, and I was not happy when we lost the Wigan game without him. United started from the block very smartly but here came a City team, a City bitter rival, that appeared to be winning all their matches. There was no room for complacency and experiments. Two teams finished with 89 points, it meant that the other teams took massive beating from these two giants. The results, score margin for us that season were even better than 2012/2013. 5-0. 4-1, 5-0 in an attempt to close the goals difference with City. With little adjustments United could have crossed 90 points. Linesman awarding a dubious penalty against Ferdiand at Old Tarfford when we played Newcastle. SAF sanctioning Rooney against Blackburn. SAF resting Scholes at Wigan. The competition between the two teams was so stiff and trilling that they had no mercy on other teams. City scored 93 goals with plus 64 goals difference, while United despite beaten 6-1 in a match, still finished with plus 56 goals, scoring 89. EPL 20th anniversary award had no option than to name it the best season ever. |
PietroRico:When have you ever asked me this question? The question is uncalled for because there is nothing unusual there. A player who couldn't find space in a club, a league can be a super star in another. Even a flop in one team/league can be a super star in another. Secondly, Ferguson has handled youths with much better potentials than Pogba. Pogba put SAF in a fixed and SAF was not one to be pushed around even by Cantona. Who says a latent talent is impossible of failing to develop that the club has to change it's policy and procedure for one who has not proven himself in the reserve competition not to talk of Carling Cup. Lastly, every manager or an institution has a set standard of treating and adopting latent talents, new innovations, new discoveries, etc else they fall into error every now and then. Pogba's case was well handled. He was an 18 years old whose performance in the reserve team was inadequate, yet he was given rapid promotion to the senior team. |
What is the point of even bringing a gif of a fixture in August where everything was haphazard and the philosophy was still being thought to them like they were in primary one. I have seen even Herrera done worse back play press passes when we should be looking for goals. |
Kemizee:I don't want to be arguing on this thread again. * I see nothing tangible you are holding against Valencia other than the pains that he benches Rafael who you think is creative. This is same way you can't see what Young is doing because you want Di Maria to play. * On the gif you brought in our away fixture to Burnley (not Leicester as you claim), Valencia was vindicated when United were killed on the counter from a ball hurriedly hit into opposition final third against Leicester. I think a similar thing happened against West Ham when Rooney was sent off. You can see Burnley were ready to break with at least 5 men should Val hit and they clear. * If Val is so bad as you claim, why does he bench a very good Rafael under an experience coach like Gaal? |
