larride: Not bad moving forward! Linderlof actually won 1 tackle. Who composed this kind of stat.
He did very well though, but again he was moved to RCB after a very poor outing in LCB last weekend.
Even Jones that they said did not play well, also won 1 tackle. Linderlof 0 interception. Jones 2 interceptions won. I actually saw those two times he intercepted after Shaw had been displaced. But I don't know if people do not watch ball as I do. Jones still had the highest pass accuracy in the game apart from Lingard who had 100%
Lindelof is the best ball playing centre back, that is not disputable. But at the moment he is now where near our best centre back if everyone is playing at their best with fitness.

PietroRick: we have more than enough cover at RB tbh. Young, Dalot and Darmian are all currently better alternatives. Darmian has impressed me everytime I've seen him this season. He is going to be a decent player for the club in Italy that signs him Only Young can challenge a fit Valencia at right back. Darmian just try to cope in a match. Mostly on the right. He has done some job on the left. Dalot is not ready yet to play at this level. |

I really don’t know why you guys want to be hanging on to this overaged full backs that now offer little going forward. The issue is not age or what they should play next season. The issue is about the squad and games this season. We will talk about next season. We will know when VALENCIA or/and YOUNG needs to give way. For now they block no one's chances. Dalot is cannot displace anyone of them yet. We saw Dalot vs Valencia in the begging of the season when Val was fit, no comparison. |

nyabinghi: valencia's first game and a clean sheet I tire for them o. The truth is, with scores at 0-0, we looked more vulnerable on Luke Shaw side. It was like a matter of time before one of the run behind him got well utilized. Most of the crosses from the right were stamped against Valencia's body in only his first game. |

That was not a good call by OGS as neither Mata and Valencia can beat their man 1v1 on the outside and whip in good crosses consistently. Anytime we start those 2 together the right side will be dead. This is untrue. If Lukaku did not score, Newcastle would never have opened that end. Mata cannot beat, but Valencia can beat with speed if he gets his match rhythm. However, yesterday, Rafa Benitez, an experienced tactician, blocked United from playing normal football Ole brought. I actually thought Ole made a mistake with Sanchez. It should have been Lingard coming on. The fortunate goal for Lukaku saved us, cos even Sanchez would have been silenced like Martial. |

I don't know if it's lack of match fitness or sharpness or he is just completely and totally finished.. Whatever it is, I hope he never starts for us again, especially when Mata is on the pitch One match and you write this? You fall hand. Mata has played his best football for United with Valencia behind. Mata has struggled playing in front of anyone else. |

Botfuss: The first thing that made me happy was;for the first time in a long time,a team used five defenders against us. Shows fear.
Lukaku looks sharp. Martial hasn’t been up to his level last two matches. Shaw also had a fair game.
Good win anyway. Mae we just beat spurs chai This is how to read football. I look at long term performance in combination with other factors to judge which players are good or bad. Lingard is more consistent than Martial and Rashford. In fact, after DDG, Lingard has been the most consistent in years. He might not have great skills like the rest, but he is consistent at what he does for the team. Off the ball, he is working covering potential space the opponent are trying to use. While we are in possession, he does not hide. He also drives the ball forward well between players. Martial is super man in only 30% of his games. He needs to rais it to 50%, then more. Rashford has been super in the new set up, but let's hope it continues because I doubt his maturity. |

Oasis007:

Marcus Rojo is still a United Player though. Hopefully he might be the missing Puzzle, perfect Combo with Lindelof. The day he will come, they will want him to perform like he has been fit for ages. If Lindelof gets injured for half a season, he might not be able to trap ball on his return. People don't understand. |

I repeat, nothing wrong with Valencia. He is just back from injury and needs two or three games to get back.
A day will come, we will look for him just as we looked for Young today. It is normal. He who plays more gets fitter and uses the ball better.
Moreover, it might even be a game plan to get him stay back. He did his primary duty well.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 11:48pm On Jan 02, 2019 |
We were up against a team whose strongest attacking side is their left, and not many teams have that strenght in the EPL. Manchester United, Arsenal, City, are like that too.
Valencia is match rusty and it was wise not to go forward. Valencia doesn't need to prove himself going forward, with time his normal attacking play will return. Today he did well defensively.
In the beginning of the season, many argued that Young is useless both defensively and forward play.

eph12: Lingard that was finding it difficult to pass and move yesterday. He will pass the ball and still wait behind to receive backward pass instead of running forward to play one two How did he moved forward against Cardiff? All the players are guilty of same. Moreover, Lingard has a duo function, he doubles as the man in the hole. If you watch well, Rashford and Pogba were running into the box for long crosses while Lingard waits behind them. It is still part of the plan. The coaches are not foolish to keep him on for 90 minutes in most matches while Rashford and Martial get substituted. It same for the Three Lions. |

It is when we play many matches and the big teams you people are going to appreciate what Lingard brings to a game.
There are some players who are not as tricky as other ones with great foot work. But they are consistent and are big game players. They hardly fall flat. Similar players were JS Park and Tevez. |

patrickmuf: Please just stop with this your Willian thingy, dude is very unproductive, at least Lingard pops up with a fair amount of goals, what exactly does Willian bring to the table? It's not like we are still coached by Mourinho where we need defensive minded wingers or AMF we need attackers who can press from the front and do maximum damage up top, not those who will track back, recover the ball and lose it in midfield. Instead of angling for OGS to promote Greenwood, Chong and Gomes, you are hoping we get Willian. Even if it's for free, hell naw... Just look at the bolded, a wasteman like Willian shouldn't even have that option when Huddersfield reaches out to him. If depends on the set up you play in. William will do fine in an attacking set up. Abeg, that Gomes is not ready yet. Even Pereira |

As for William, it depends on what price he goes for and whether he is willing to move. Although someone like him might stifle the growth of Lingard because I see some similarity in their game. |
