chic2pimp: Not really though. He was simply repeating what was being said on National TV. Not a week went by where Ngolo's performances was not highlighted and praised on MOTD that season.
If was after SAF praised him that the media started promoting him. Before then it was Vardy, Mahrez, Morgan and the gaolkeeper who were credited.
Lana1: Hopefully this will change with a DoF. I always state that there are so many good players in the EPL for cheap that will improve our game in the league and raise our level a bit in Europe. But Woodward will always want to go for that 80 million player from Spain or Italy.
We have missed very good players. For instance, SAF identified Kante as early as January or February that year as the outstanding player in the Leicester team and the whole of EPL that season. Four months after we didn't bid.
Dslizz: this thread is too cold... Application starts soon please let's introduce each other and schools we plan on applying to. issnor until we encounter problems....let's start now, please.
Khaytunechi: So far so good,, Rashford especially has proven to not be a headless chicken.. It has always been about the tactics for most of these guys.. Rashford and Martial should be posting similar figures to Sane,, Sterling and the likes in an attacking setup.. Let's see if Sanchez will give himself sense and not hug and cut the ball rather than pass forward like we've been seeing with the boys.. I am not sure Lukaku's skillset would fit in under OGS.. just picture Wilfred Bony under Pep..
Lingard was superb against Cardiff. We cannot just write him off because of one match. This guy has been our most consistent attacking player for one or two years now.
ChristineC: I don't see it that way. It was obvious Jose Mourinho had no blueprint, the board was only having some reservation not be seen as a club that now sack ruthlessly. Louis van Gaal got all the ropes till then end and even though he crowned it with the FA Cup he still walked because he didn't make top 4. For JM, if he had won those games he'd be given more time grudgingly, but Ed Woodward would never have sold Paul in January. Nothing would have made JM make top 4 this season anyway and he'd still have gotten the boot in April.
If Mourinho had managed to win at Liverpool and one more win before new year he could have been allowed to stay on while Pogba forced a January exit. It would have happened just like it did before when he went to Juventus.
Some fans would have sanctioned it with results against Arsenal and Liverpool without Pogba
Let's have a run of matches to decide which plays are best suited.
You play Martial, Rashford, Sanchez and we struggle to score a small team. Lingard comes in 78th and scores or helps to win. The next thing "Sanchez is a waste" "Rashford is headless chicken"
Lana1: Thoughts on the game: We desperately need a striker. Imagine having someone like Aubameyang today. We fit score reach 6. Icardi anyone?
We need wingers too. Especially on the right.
Lingard for all the goals he scores is not starting 11 material. Squad player at best.
Less said about that defence, the better. We need a complete overhaul in that department.
We need a better CM than Herrera and Fred. Need a better and younger version of Matic.
When we were chasing Griezmann and Lukaku, it was actually Aubameyan that I wanted. He was scoring over 30 goals and was the world fastest player. You can't beat that.
dopeJemi: Lingard, maybe, but Young? He had to play, you can see that he brought stability to both the attack and defense when he came on, Dalot was just allowing spaces behind, I don't like Young but I have got to admit, he is our best option at RB as it stands
I wanted to write Herrera and Young. Reason being that Ferguson used to rotate team at this time. So we should do same. That was the reason they didn't start in the first place.
The above link is a match United came back front two goals to win 5-2 vs Spurs. Vidic defended like an amateur in the first goal scored by Bent. He missed timed his header and Bent went in between Vidic and Ferdinand to nod in. That was a school boy error. The second goal scored by Modric, our entire backline starting from Evra went to sleep. For both goals we outnumbered Spurs in our defence, yet they scored.
It is not like even the best defnders out there don't make mistakes. Our scrutiny of our defenders is becoming too detail. At least we won today.
Lana1: Next game is Bournemouth at home. That game will prove a tougher test than the last 2 games and the result of the match will determine if we are back on the path to redemption or if all this na just initial gra gra.
I hope Martial will be back tho, coz Lingard just dead that left wing for me today
I didn't want Herrera and Young to play today. There should be rotation this busy period to allow freshness.
I didn't think Matic, Pogba, Martial, Rashford and Linagard were again capable of playing what they played against Cardiff. At different times we had seen such individual brilliance from them in few matches in between a season. But for all the players to be at their individual and collective best at same time, I didn't know it could happen. I have even written off most of the players before before the Cardiff game because they have been individually and collectively poor. I can just imagine a player like Nani of old in this set up. He will open up big big spaces in front of him with his swift tricks and breaks.
Martial played from the left, went to the middle to become a 'space creator' and it was wonderful.
