I applied to University of Bonn too. They didn't ask me to convert my grades to ECTS. They didn't even require the IELTS score I sent to them. I sent it to improve my chances of securing admission. The only school so far that asked me to convert my grades to ECTS is Uni of Jena. You can go to the Federal Ministry of Education to get the letter if you wish though it's expensive or go to your schools registrar to issue you a letter of proof of English at no cost.
