Are we going to keep on waiting to get maja and co? For pete's sake, why cant we get a VERY GOOD midfielder from the nigerian league who can spray penetrative passes and integrate him into the team faster. I dont like this match. we keep on throwing long balls. Why is that every Nigerian team keep doing this even when knowing it doesnt work with much taller players in the opposite team ? I dont just understand.pls Why?? why? why?? playing a very defensive team we will need someone who can spray PENETRATIVE PASSES and we cant depend on Iwobi alone. see now he isnt playing today. Smartsmith, pls answer this questions. GET a GOOD MIDFIELDER in the Nigerian league who CAN SPRAY PENETRATIVE PASSES. we NEED THAT. we cant wait for the FB |

TheCar: First let us cover the basics.
What is a Debit (ATM) Card.
It give you easy access to your money anytime, anywhere. You can pay your bills and make payment for your everyday purchase without carrying cash around.
What's the Difference?
Daily Transaction Limit - Verve 100k MasterCard - 150k & Visa 150k.
ATM Abroad - Verve (NO) MasterCard (YES) Visa (YES)
POS Nigeria - Yes for verve, MasterCard and visa
ATM Nigeria - Yes for verve, MasterCard and visa.
POS Abroad - No for Verve, Yes for MasterCard & Visa
Web Nigeria - Yes for verve, mastcard and visa.
Web Abroad - No for Verve, Yes for MasterCard & Visa.
So basically, you can only use Verve Card in Nigeria and Nigeria only.
If you want to use your card outside Nigeria like shopping on AliExpress, Amazon, eBay or BestBuy, WalMart or Asos or using your card to withdraw cash at Citibank ATM in New York or Barclays Bank ATM in England, or Emirates NBD ATM in Dubai, you need a MasterCard or Visa Card. pls sir...am a newbie o.No laugh me. When you withdraw using mastercard or visacard abroad, what will you be withdrawing? Is it not naira? Or it can be converted to a dollar account? |

U should thank me for passing this knowledge to u, as I see many pharmacist and lab technicians, breaking into medical groups seeking for ways to migrate to the UK and Europe and I have actually assisted humble ones thru less tedious pathways. You think you are clever but you are not. You comment was about Nigeria trained pharmacists and their degree being a burden to them, that they undergo a 52 weeks training before practising in the UK. Now tell me, does the link mentioned ONLY NIGERIA pharmacists will undergo the 52 weeks training? or you are blind and couldnt see where it was written ANY FOREIGN TRAINED pharmacist apart from EEA member states? why making it look as if it is only nigeria trained pharmacist undergo d training before practising. MrBigiman: Not to loose track of the aim of this post I reemphasize.
Most health workers making noise here become liabilities once they are unable to get government jobs. Many in private settings maintain a healthy posture, but make noise once it's government affair.
MSLD, DPT and PharmD are only geared towards the civil service. Outside of Nigeria most of these degree will be a mere liability to holders.
Pharmacist are in the forefront of parading as doctors and causing mayhem. Yet outside Nigeria especially in the UK hourly pay rate of pharmacist is on average less than half of a doctor's pay, yet in Nigeria they cry blue murder.
Once a Nigerian pharmacist attempts to work in the UK his PharmD becomes a liability. He must do a pharmacist assessment program which is a full year and then put in for the exams. After that, he must do a pharmacy orientation course, which is another 52weeks training, if successful, he will be registered. He must then returned to Nigeria and seek for a job and wait for COS which won't come and pharmacy is not a shortage of occupation course. Little wonder they fight Doctors tooth and nail because there's no other place they can find relevance, than Johesu and Government hospitals. Pharmacist should look at the link below and know who to channel their anger to. It's their tutors and policy makers and not Doctors.
https://www.pharmacyregulation.org/registration/registering-pharmacist/overseas-non-eea-qualified-pharmacists Smh..pls show from the link you pasted where it was stated that ONLY NIGERIAN PHARMACIST will undergo the 52 weeks training. You comment says nigerian trained pharmacist degree are a burden to them. The link says ANYONE NOT trained in the UK OR ANYONE NOT trained in EEA member states. Check out the countries that are members of the EEA. Google is your friend. Lol...you just like deceiving the public but kids are not here, go to nursery school that is where they are found. |

SIRTee15: First I'm not F2.... Foreign trained doctors don't join the medical cadre at foundation level, except u are yet to complete ur housemanship from ur home country..... I didn't fully grasp ur analogy but u don't need radiologist approval to get basic investigation done.... U talk to the radiologist in cases of MRI, urgent CT, intervention radiology or u need him to report an x-ray.... Why do u need a radiologist approval to order CXR.... just send the form to the x-ray department n the radiographer gets it done... . I'm sure u don't submit routine x-ray forms to radiologist in nigeria.....
Here I know radiographers report x-ray and they do have consultant radiographers.... I see their names on CXR report quite often without any radiologist addendum.... Sincerely, I'm not really sure to what extent is their scope of work n how much autonomy they have..... The other day, I met a naija female radiographer in the dept n we spoke..... She told me they have an independent dept n her HOD is a radiographer. I can't really verify such claim but it's irrelevant anyway.... NHS has a different structure when compared to naija hospitals..... Managers run n control things here not health professionals, so the post of HOD or whatever doesn't hold much power when compared to naija..... Everybody including consultants are answerable to managers..... But one thing I know is radiographers in uk are more engaged when it comes to clinical duties... They even perform echocardiography which I initially thought was exclusive to cardiologist.... Sirtee, Well sir...you are well exposed, we need your type at the NMA leadership who will not be EGOSTIC and NON-CHALLLANT like the ones will have here parading themselves as doctors. I also like the fact that you pionted out that in the UK that the managers in the hospital are not even medical docs or any health worker.Maybe you need to enligtened ur fellow docs here. eg Mrbigiman |

SIRTee15: I'm a doctor.... But seriously I don't see anything wrong in consultancy position in other professions.... In UK there's even consultant clinical physiologist in the hospital....
My fear is other profession desire it just because of the prestige of being called a consultant not the responsibility attached to it ... Here in UK, consultants work like hell, they see their patients everyday.... They are always on ground n it's important u make urself visible at all times.... Except if u are off duty.... They even teach junior doctors n present topics.... Specialist nurses both in hospital n in the community are also hardworking n can be counted on to contribute to patient's care if need be..... They do a lot for patient's with chronic medical conditions.... If consultants n specialists in whatever profession in naija are forced to work in exact manner, I doubt if those position will be desirable.... Although it will really go a long way to help patients... confirm...Mrbigiman, come and see ur fellow doc..he has confirmed that consultant pharmacist and other consultants WORK IN THE HOSPITAL. Like I said, what you know best in doing is deceiving the public instead of improving ursef. Back to you Sirtee, do not worry yourself on the fact that other consultant would not like to work..i believe there will be a strict rule and regulation for all to follow...leave it for the professional bodies in charge. |

dokxavi: You hang on to the word "consultant" like it's your lifeblood.
To be in a regulated profession, you get a fellowship from a college that determines who is fit to practise.
That's where the medical doctors' field will keep advancing, all the consultants have fellowship in the specialties. You can never even practise independently as a medical doctor or specialist in the US if you have not gained a fellowship in a specialty. docxavi...let me educate you. pharmacists have a postgraduate programme..WEST AFRICA POSTGRADUATE COLLEGE OF PHARMACIST...the programme is for a minimum of five years. When one is through with the programme, one is awarded a fellow in his chosen field of specialty. Stop being ignorant!! I thought docs are wide readers but urs is a pathetic one. |

omojeesu: Very soon this will happen:
A doctor prescribes then the consultant pharmacist says prescription is wrong or not good enough. She becomes teacher and reviewer of doctor's diagnosis determined prescription....you can guess the outcome.
You point to international best practice. When it comes to Nigeria it's another ball game. Our corruption and near insanity exploits the IBP for selfish reasons.
Satan wants to finish our health system! With due respect sir, A pharmacist has the right to review a doctors prescription in case there is a drug-drug interaction, drug-food interaction and also drug-diseases interaction and then make a recommendation on the best or appropriate drug to use which the doctor now has to see reasons for changing the prescription. A pharmacists is an EXPERT on drugs. This is the "international best practices" you guys have been shouting all these while. Pls, google am not here to argue. No pharmacist, i repeat NO PHARMACIST will change the prescription but will only recommend based on his knowledge on drugs which the doctor has to drop his ego and listen. If the doc refuses to listen, then and only then will the pharmacist request for a signature of the doctor so as to prevent any form of trouble on the pharmacist if the patient health gets worse or even dies as a result of the non-challant and egostic attitude of the doctor. In saner climes, the doctor will be stripped of his licence and also be sued. In the end, it is the patient who enjoys this synergy. Thank you |

YOLO1: Update!! My friend just came back from the hospital now. He was told to repeat the urine test and urethra swab again. And also add blood test. The doctor prescribed Augmentin, Ibuprofen and vitamin c for him despite showing him the result of the first tests where resistant to Augmentin was written. He was told to come back next week Monday with the new lab results. My question now is 1. Should he go ahead with the Augmentin as prescribed. 2. Won't it cause his body to develop resistance to other drugs because he has taken quite a lot of antibiotics 3. What can I use to disinfect the house. We share the same bed and use the same toilet. Don't want it to look as if am avoiding him but also I have to protect myself. This is one of the problems I have with this so called doctors. On what basis should he prescribe antibiotics without a proper lab test with AMR everywhere and staring right into our faces? The test above is it not enough?( well, except it is a fake one as some people claim) Augmentine(amoxiclav) and ampiclox are the same antibiotics from the same class. Since he has taken ampiclox and it didnt work, taking Augmentin is a waste of time. Besides there could be cross resistance too. With my knowledge of drugs, to me I would say let he take the lab test again, this time around from a professional and let see what it has to say |
Health › Re: Doctors And Medical Professionals In The House, Please Help My Friend Out by Eldorado14: 10:02pm On Feb 03, 2018 |
Well, looking at the result you can see that probably a sensitivity test was also carried out, those drugs listed on the "sensitive to" will work for the infection. Then those drugs listed on "resistant to" are very much resistant to the infection, that is why the ampiclox beecham he took didnt work on him. You also said he took ciprotab and it didn't work, this could be as a result of AMR(antimicrobial resistance). So, I advise you to take the result to a doctor so that he will prescribe the correct dose for those drugs listed on "sensitive to" for your friend Goodluck! |
