Philip Shekwo, chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa state is dead. Shekwo who was abducted on Saturday night from his residence in Lafia, was found dead on Sunday. The Federal High Court, Abuja, has fixed Feb. 24, 2021, for hearing in a N100 million suit filed by a whistleblower, George Davidson, against the ICPC. Justice Nkeonye Maha, who adjourned the matter in her ruling, hinged the decision on the fact that parties in the suit had yet to be joined. A hospital built by the immediate past governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has been demolished by the current governor of the State, Hope Uzodimma, in what many commentators have described as a badly thought-out act of political vendetta. The Federal Government is concluding plans to post 3,700 teachers to states across the country and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) through its Federal Teachers Scheme (FTS). he Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) has announced that the IPPIS verification exercise for officers in the Federal Ministry of Education will commence between November 17th and 27th. According to the FCSC, the exercise will be physically conducted for officers employed between 2017 and 2019, who have completed their IPPIS records online. The exercise is slated to take place at designated venues in the Federal Capital Territory and the six geopolitical zones. Fourteen of the twenty #EndSARS promoters whose bank accounts were frozen by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, have filed a countersuit before the Federal High court in Abuja, demanding the unfreezing of their accounts. Recall that on November 5, the CBN secured an order from Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Federal High court in Abuja to freeze the accounts of 19 #EndSARS promoters and a public affairs company. The apex court alleged that the accounts of the promoters were linked with terrorist activities. The court granted the request of the CBN and frozen the accounts for 90 days.
