The Oyo State Commissioner for Finance, Akinola Ojo, has said that the Internally Generated Revenue now stands at an average of N2.3 billion monthly.
Ojo said this on Monday, adding that the state now targets a monthly internally generated revenue of N3.2 billion by end of this year and N6.2billion by May 2023.

Ojo said that while N1.250 billion was realised as IGR in April, N1.50 billion was amassed in May and N2.6billion accumulated in June.

He further said the goal of the current administration was to achieve the set IGR targets on efforts aimed at expanding the state’s economic base, creating wealth for citizens, erecting the right infrastructure, harnessing the state’s potential, creating enabling environment to attract foreign investment.

“The goal is that before the end of this administration, our internally generated revenue should be in the region of N6.2bilion. We want to be able to cover of the salary wage bill with our IGR. COVID-19 slowed down the IGR hopefully by the end of the year, we should hit N3.2 billion,” Ojo said.

Dr Stella Emmanuel, a Nigerian-born and trained physician, who said hydroxychloroquine is the cure for COVID-19 is making waves on social media after delivering an impassioned speech in the U.S. on Monday.
Speaking at a news conference in Washington, Emmanuel claimed that antimalarial drug, hydroxychloroquine, zinc, and antibacterial drug, Zithromax, were effective cures for the virus.

The Nigerian spoke during a news conference held by a group of American doctors under the aegis of “America’s Frontline Doctors” in front of the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington DC.

The doctors are holding a two-day “White Coat Summit” at the Capitol Hill to address what they call a “massive disinformation campaign” surrounding the virus.

Emmanuel dismissed experts’ warning that hydroxychloroquine could cause serious heart problems for coronavirus patients, citing her experience with the use of the drug.

The Nigerian, who was joined by other frontline doctors, said she had successfully treated no fewer than 350 patients with hydroxychloroquine, zinc, and Zithromax.

Emmanuel also said hydroxychloroquine, long touted by President Donald Trump as a cure for the virus, could also prevent the disease.

CrimeBillionaire Clergyman, Samzuga Recounts How Nigerians Are Treated As Slaves In D by ElectroLyte(op): 3:08pm On Jul 27, 2020
A Nigerian cleric, Archbishop SamZuga of the House of Joy Ministry, Makurdi, who was in Dubai early in the year, decried the plight of many Nigerians in the UAE.
Zuga said: “Nigerians are being treated like slaves in UAE. Most of them are women who are stranded with their international passports seized by Nigerian human traffickers. The most stranded people in the UAE are Nigerians. Nigerians are the biggest problem of Nigerians in the UAE.

“Dubai needs standard, but they don’t have standard. Many of the Nigerians youths I met in Dubai went there to look for money without a defined agenda. Dubai is not a money-making but a money-spending city.

“The truth is, no firm in Dubai, be it government or private, trusts a Nigerian. Nigerians have big certificates without skills. They (UAE) need both your money and your skills.”

Last year, the Nigerian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed Rimi, revealed that 446 Nigerians were serving different terms in UAE prisons for crimes ranging from possession of hard drugs to engaging in robbery.

“Although there is no exact record of our citizens in the UAE owing to the inability to register them on arrival, the number of Nigerians resident in the country is estimated at about 10,000. Out of this number, about 2,017 are students in various universities. Samzuga noted.

“It is disheartening to state that 446 Nigerians are currently serving different terms in prisons across UAE for committing various crimes including possession and consumption of hard drugs and engaging in armed robbery.”

CrimeThe Dreaded Shina Rambo: From Pounding 27 Newborn Babies, To Eating 100 Human by ElectroLyte(op): 10:57am On Jul 22, 2020
Shina Rambo, a hardened criminal, a terror who terrorised South-West Nigeria in the 1990s found christ after serving his jail time.
His name, Shina Rambo, sent shivers down the spines of many who dwelled in South Western part of Nigeria and even those in Benin Republic and its environs.

After serving jail-time for his heinous crimes, he was converted by an evangelist and he became a Christian evangelical pastor.

Shina Rambo now known as Mathew Oluwanifemi was a hardened criminal, a terror and a killer, one whom men of the security agencies will never forget in a haste.

Described as a movie

A man mountain, towering about 6 ft 5inch, well built, dark-skinned and sweltering eyes, he carried out his operations, like a movie, in the broad daylight, with sophisticated weapons, bullet belts and explosives strapped roundabout him. He specialized in robbing exotic cars on highways and robbing banks. Nothing could stop him, not even security operatives, he was totally invincible. He was Shina Rambo!

Shina Rambo’s Family Background

Shina Rambo was born in 1958 to a military man who apparently was a bad egg in the armed forces. His father was from Abeokuta in Ogun state, and his mother was a native of Sabongida–Ora in Edo state. His father had over 18 wives. This is because soldiers were known to impregnate virtually every woman they met wherever they were posted to.

His father used his military influence to rob innocent citizens, and always brought a huge amount of money home, which in turn enticed little Shina.

The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, says he does not have knowledge of any contract allegedly awarded to the Chairman, House of Representatives Committees on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Rep. Olubumi Tunji-Ojo.
At the investigative hearing on the alleged N40 billion irregular expenditure in the NDDC, Akpabio said that he was yet to see contract documents made to Tunji-Ojo’s company.

“I am not sure if NDDC awarded contract to the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee, Rep. Olubumi Tunji-Ojo.

“For me to say that, I need to see that contracts were awarded to his company; may be the contract was awarded in the area where he comes from in Ondo,” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Tunji-Ojo was accused of executing contracts by the Interim Management Committee of the NDDC.

NAN also reports that as a result of the allegation, Tunji-Ojo stepped aside as chairman of the committee to allow for a free and fair hearing and not to be a judge in his own case.

On the rift with the former acting Managing Director of NDDC, Ms Joy Nunieh, Akpabio alleged that she was sacked for insubordination.
