But i wonder how ameachi was able to curtail their excesses when he was in power. Before taking any action, I implore you to do a bit of findings if its only because your daughter did not do her homework was why she was flogged.
While I personally think the strokes of cane, judging from the number strokes (12), marks/wound on her is a bit excessive, I would not want you to outrightly condemn the teacher's action. And when confronting the school authority and or teacher, please ensure the girl is not present.
There is always a flip side to an issue.
You may channel your rejection of this act by the teacher to the school authority with the said teacher sternly warned to adopt a middle approach eg kneeling down, raising hands up etc to replace flogging in future etc if you feel its a better option.
It is only when and if you feel your views are disrespected or your concern in respect of the flogging is not getting the right attention should you consider withdrawing her from the school and or involving state institutions eg the Police, Child Welfare etc.
The positive flip side to this matter is the girl may henceforth never ever fail to do her homework again which is a plus.
It is in consideration of this above fact that I implore you to be a bit circumspect in your reaction.

It have been procastinating lately about reaching out to my elder brother. For an inexplicable reason, we do not communicate much except on matters that affect general family interest. We just fell apart like that for no reason in the last 15 years. Mine is technically a dysfunctional family. Interpretation: We hardly have time to bond owing to geography and other challenges. Fast forward to a few days ago. A gnawing thought kept hitting me that I should use subterfuge, cunning plus reverse psychology on him to get him to open up as to why he hardly calls bla bla bla. Do, I call? Early this morning, the thought, as early 0350hrs hit again me to call him. Something told me to call him so I determine that I would call him this evening so we could catch up on old times. I was at a weekend training conference at about 0820hrs this morning when calls started coming from my sisters et al. Cut the long story short, unknown to me, my brother Adeyanju Akeem Adetunji complained of mild headache to his wife late yesterday evening. He told her all he needed was a good sleep and that he would be fine. He never woke up from that slumber. Lesson herein is dont procastinate about reaching out to a friend or loved one. I have had my fair share of misfortune yet his death hit me realy hard. God I miss him in a way I can not decipher.

I am technically a passive follower on this forum. I read the topics, follow the comments and sometimes, chip in my two kobo. One thing I have however noticed is there seems to be a uninanimous hatred for the Nigeria Police Force. It beats me even when the organisation performs well, say bust a crime, rescue a victim or save a life etc. Now I agree criticisms, especially constructive ones are necessary to move a system, an organisation such as the police of this country forward. My take is, is it not possible to critique the Nigeria Police constructively? Objective and fair opinions are welcome from the house.
