This has been happening for a long time and I wonder why no one has been prosecuted for this act.
Even before they started using websites, they used text messages.
And the foolish students think they are smart now, but they will regret this in the future. Some of them will not know how to deal with the guilt in the future and will end up taking the drastic decision of returning their certificates like some people deed recently. |

This is sad.
On a very general note, our failed system kills more people than witches and wizards.
So I think we should spend less time trying to bind witches and wizards as we always do and try to find ways to fix our broken system.
Life expectancy is low in this country compared to first-world countries because we don't have good health care.
Many people die on our roads not from blood sucking demons but from very bad roads that even a wheelbarrow will find difficult to navigate. |

mediclife1987: Okay go to the market and talk to the seller anyhow in a rude and annoying manner, infact throw the money at him like patients drop things on the floor for doctors, then tell the shop owner "the client/customer is always right" and see if you won't be beaten out of the market like a thief.
That word is the most overrated & abused balderdash I've seen in my whole life.
"Respect is Reciprocal" is the phrase you should put to mind and memorise instead, not that joke you spat up there.
Nothing came with the job, we doctors have just allowed ourselves to be a doormat for every Tom, Dick & Harry to misbehave to and get away with it cos most docs are emotionally needy, really need validation and want to be perceived as "next-to-God" and calm and gentle. There's only a limit to such rubbish before the true nature explodes. Can they try such crap with other professions? Not even with nurse's sef. But with doctor, any rubbish goes, afterall they swore one funny oath laidat.
Rubbish! If I become the Minster of Health, all this nonsense will definitely come to an end cos I go too treat enough patient fvck up in addition to the illness they present with.

mediclife1987: So without our knowledge, the patients are still useful ba? Patients keep clamoring on bedside manners but looking at it closely, majority of them are the ones who actually lack manners.
They say if you point a finger, 4 fingers are pointing right back at you.... Yeah...I know some patients can be very rude and annoying. It comes with the job unfortunately. But you know that saying 'the client/customer is always right'? It applies here. |

mylifeisagift: I can see why Medicine requires a higher IQ which to me seem just to be a normal IQ but it is obviously not.. I was the best graduating Doctor of my set from a prestigious teaching hospital and yes medicine is always about improving so you can climb to the pinnacle...If the best keep re-learning to abreast themselves with current medical/ surgical practices in line with international best practices. Back to your meaningless screenshots; How does neccesity prempting an urgent intervention in times of shortage forms a perequisite for the norm?? Are you just dumb or didn't you read where it was clearly stated it was a result of doctor shortage?? A Nurse can improvise in so many regards in the absence of a doctor( Even if not fully competent to handle such situations) how does that translate to them taking such roles. Patient prescription can become tedious especially when they are cases that actually do not require expertise interventions, I personally feel a nurse can and should do the needful in such circumstances and other minor illness.. But if granted I trust the typical NIgerian not to know their excesses and when to invlove the doctors.. I think this will be the last time i reply cuz obviously we are worlds apart and there is an underlying hate that has been carefully taught to u guys by your lecturers during your undergrad days...A doctor is a doctor, A nurse is a nurse, a pharmacist a pharmacist etc.. There is no need diving into others...Keep to your discipline and make it respectable...Done with this Now, you are trying to play smart. You made it seem like they cannot do it at all from your previous posts and that what she said was a lie. Yes, it was necessitated by shortage of doctors in Mozambique and there is shortage of doctors too in Nigeria. Does about 60,000 doctors to 180 million people sound adequate to you? And besides, how many of you doctors will want to practice in the rural communities? So if a plan comes up in Nigeria where the nurses are trained to fill in these gaps, there is nothing wrong with it. The healthcare system is a dynamic system |

Which part of what she said is a lie? If you are too lazy to do a Google search, look at the screenshots below.. Their roles are expanding...and it doesn't come on a silver platter as you think. They receive special training to perform those roles, so they are qualified to do it. I think you should focus more on developing yourself as a doctor (because there are many of your colleagues that are better than you) instead of poking nose in other people's professional development.

MissRaine69: Not everyone who studies medicine makes an excellent doctor. Many view medicine only from the academic perspective. Some manage on completion to leave Nigeria and come here and this is when they realise there is more to medicine than being an academic . I have seen many struggle with the concept of bedside manners. You are not an island you work as a team abroad no one cares which tribe you come from and team work is alien to some. Some end up being struck off for very basic things. I saw a post about career guidance counselling in schools and that is an excellent idea. We all can’t be engineers and doctors and most don’t last in that career. The bedside manners is where most of them fail in this country and they are not ready to take correction. They fail to realize that without the patient, all their knowledge is useless |

Only those who are enlightened will understand this write-up. There were over 140,000 applicants for medicine in 2016...I just shake my head at these young chaps who are oblivious of reality. Truth is, we don't have enough doctors and we need more (only about 60,000 doctors for 180million people isn't a good statistics) but the number of hospitals for them to practice is limited. And even the available hospitals are poorly funded and managed so they don't employ enough doctors. |
