Another downside is that it has no CI card, as much as I would love it to have that. But it was a good choice I made after having a bitter experience with one seller at the NL TV section who sent me one disappointing LG product which showed signs that it has been opened and worked on (repaired). I hope that would be the only time I would have to consider used TVs from Alaba.
Most of the LG products in the market are fake. If you do a check, you won't find the model on LG's official website. I nearly wasted money (50k) on the LG32Lk50 sold everywhere but decided to check it online only to see that it's available only on Nigerian sites not even on LG's site. I discovered it's actually an imitation of the original LG32LK500BPTA which is more expensive.
I decided to use the same amount to get a non-smart 32" TCL Digital TV and I'm loving it. Sharp HD picture, backlight adjustment 0-10, auto-volume, 4 ECO modes and digital TV channels (mostly scrambled though, needs a CI card to unscramble).

Consumption is 50w at full blast but with the ECO mode set to "High" and backlight setting at 1, I could tell it consumes about 30w or less because of the slow rate of voltage drop on my inverter battery. I'll get a wattmeter to confirm soon.

From my understanding, the lesser the C rating of a battery the more durable it is, as regards deep discharge. Ie it handles higher currents without much effect to the battery itself.

Usually the thickness of plates, quality of material used, total surface area or electrodes and some finer details used to make the Insides of a LA battery determines how it performs with regards to high charge/discharge. This tranlates into its C rating.
Ok, but the 50% DOD rule still applies to all regardless of C rating?

Make sure you buy a C10 and not the rampant C20. The C10 is more expensive. For luminous, you will see solar boldly written on it. It is sad that even the luminous marketers don't know why the "solar" tubular battery is more expensive than the regular tubular battery variants.
Try to read about the differences between C10 and C20. If you have good power supply, C20 may suffice.
I've been trying to understand the difference between this C10 and C20 stuff. I've read some conflicting and vague info about it online.

Can the gurus please explain which is better and why?

Got the battery as a used one about 2yrs ago. I think one of the cells shorted as the battery was warm to touch. Don't think it was overcharge as I set my bulk voltage to 14.5v and it was purely on solar yesterday
Okay, after serving for 4 years, I think it died a natural death. Except for premium brands, most of the batteries on the market don't last up to 4 years.

hello house, please what can I do to my 2pcs 100ah GBM deep cycle batteries connected in parallel with 1kva ipowerplus inverter of 6month use that has drastically reduce run time to about 1.5hours on about 80watts load?
Is it the batteries that are 6 months old?
If yes, then something is wrong. Were they bought new or fairly used?
How do you charge the batteries and what is your charging current?

Note: GBM is a cheap brand so this is bound to happen even if you do everything right.

I have dedicated the GBM battery I have to handle only lighting because I noticed the voltage drops drastically under big load. The battery is 15months old and the resting voltage is now roughly 12.4 as against 12.7 at the time of purchase.

Very efficient, I have seen for a 70inch LG drop from 130W to 105W to 90W using just eco mode and drop to 70-60W on further reduction of brightness.

Even a conventional TV can reduce consumption by playing around with its brightness and all that.
Sound power consumption is a little negligible
That's good to know.
My TCL TV has that feature with the ECO mode ranging from Low to High. I always set it to High but haven't got a watt meter to check the differences in consumption.

75 watt Nasco TV. Hmmm, if that TV has no energy saving mode, then I'd say it's a gluttonous TV.
How efficient is the ECO mode on TVs? Does it really reduce power consumption?

i hope, no be car battery una colobi, cos 75ah deep cycle battery is scarce. lemme just work with the battery, it will last 6 to 10hrs if the battery is charged full, but if na car battery be that, expect serious drop in runtime within 3months
I think GBM and Sunfit make 75ah deep cycle batteries.

At 50% DOD, he shouldn't expect anything more than 6hrs max.

but some are complaining of the customs fee on aliexpress too
Custom fees on AliExpress items is a 50-50 thing. You may or may not be asked to pay. I have never paid custom fee on any item although my orders have all been items of low weight. I think phones and anything very weighty, attracts the attention of the custom officers.
But then again, the custom fees collected at Nipost office is even suspicious. Aren't payments to government agencies supposed to be made through remita for it to enter the TSA?

I asked an installer who said he always chops it off because :
1. Plugging them is tedious
2. Plugging them will prevent you from knowing if there is actual contact or not.
3.weather elements may affect the mc4 and they lose contact in future.
4. Tapping them properly after cutting gives him that reaasurance that all is in contact.
5. That is the most practicable way as one cannot be sure of the quality of the MC4. grin
I share that installer's sentiments.

For your 2.5kva with two 200ah
1. Mppt CC, 50A, 100V or 150v
2. 1,000w solar(recommended)
3. wires, 6mm(panel to cc) 13/16mm cc to batteries
4. Never chop off panel MC4 connectors
5. Circuit breakers for panels, fuse, both dc and ac SPD's. Etc etc

Just to add, buy a better battery and inverter
I am curious, what is the reason for your point number 4? Does it affect the panel efficiency or what?

Baba, not all sellers are technically savvy. Here is a symbiotic relationship I believe. They rely on the tech heads to keep the page going while they lay in their adverts. Also, plenty sellers here na "baranda", na marketers them be not shop or goods owners.

Few come back to thank the page when purchases are made with referrals from here. It's all a win-win situation in my books, only when it doesn't become excessive though.
Agreed.

These set of people can be annoying...

One of the reasons I like solar/inverter is because it is noiseless but these neighbours defeat my aim with the noise from their generators.

I guess I either take it upon myself to educate them about renewable/alternative energy so that they can dump their generators or I will have to relocate to an uninhabited island to have my much desired quiet.grin

bro,
you echo my sentiments exactly. and, this was part of my thought process more than 10 years
ago while preparing to take the plunge into energy freedom. i just couldn't understand why
someone who could afford to drive a car worth 1.5m or even 5m could not spend a fraction of
that amount to provide constant electricity for his household.
except for peeps who live in populated cites like lagos, port harcourt and abuja who spend up
to 2hrs or more in traffic jams, the majority of us spend less than an hour commuting to and
from work or business. so, imagine spending such a short time in an air-conditioned car only for
you step out into a dark, hot house where you will spend at least 12 to 18hrs every day. The
Does that even make sense?
That's why they say common sense is not common.

I can't see myself living without some form of alternative energy supply even na DC wiring, I must have light at least.

The architect that will design my future house should get ready to include a power room in the drawing. It is a must! grin
