While many mobile/online loan Apps currently accessible to Nigerians from google play store are useful and genuine, there are some that are scam and fraudulent in that same play store. Therefore it is always advisable to be careful while providing your bank or card details to these Apps as most of them use your details for fraud. My experience with NairaWay loan app was a great mistake. It is very sad that someone will sit down and develop an app just to defraud others, They advertised for an online loan through their App Nairaway on google play store and requested for card details, of which i provided mine but instead of crediting my account with the loan amount, they started deducting money from my bank account without my notice using the card details I provided.They first deducted N50 card verification fee, then security deposit of N5,088 and promised to process and pay in the loan amount into my bank account between 2 to 7 days, while i was waiting for their loan payment, I got another unauthorized debit alert of N5,379 on my bank account by them. I sent them a message via the feedback link on their app for an explanation but they didn't reply, so i alerted my bank and they asked me to hotlist my card. Till date they have never replied my messages, contacted me or credited my account with anything.
Please I want to notify people that this App Nairaway is a scam and their procedure tricky, people should avoid this App NairaWay while online. I am doing my best to track those behind this App and to have them investigated and prosecuted while also informing innocent Nigerians so they can stay away from being defruaded. This is also a warning to all Nigerians to be careful with online loan apps. Please anyone with experience or useful information about Naira Way online loan App or loan company should share to prevent more people from falling victims of their online scam.

This is what happened to me, they wiped my account from around 2am to 6am. This had put me in great debt because I couldn't pay back the loans I took from other apps.

Goodevening all! Pls how should one treat online mobile apps that give people loan and it happened that the person slightly defaulted. In less than a week, they started sending different messages through WhatsApp to all his contacts saying he is a serial loan defaulter who ran away with company's money and that police are looking for him, his picture would be displayed on their Facebook, and if anybody need his pix, he or she should request for it. They included his phone number in the message. What they are doing is similar to name and shame which I don't know if our law allows it. Pls people with appropriate knowledge/Experience should assist

A journalist who exposed corruption in soccer in Ghana was killed by two gunmen, an attorney for his employer told CNN.
Ahmed Hussein-Suale was near his home Wednesday in the Accra suburb of Madina when two men on a motorbike pulled up next to his car and shot him at close range, according to the lawyer, Kissi Agyebeng.


The journalist died instantly after being shot twice in the chest and in the neck, Agyebeng said.


Ghanaian police have not responded to repeated CNN calls about the killing.
Hussein-Suale worked for the Tiger Eye PI organization run by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
In a statement, Tiger Eye PI said Hussein-Suale had received death threats after recently finishing work on a documentary that exposed bribery and corruption in African soccer.
The undercover investigation led to the resignation of the head of the Ghana Football Association.
Anas reacted to the news about his colleague's death in a tweet, saying: "Sad news, but we shall not be silenced. Rest in peace, Ahmed."



Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo called the killing a "heinous crime" on Twitter.
"I have learnt with sadness of the killing of Ahmed Hussein-Suale. ...," he wrote. "I condemn the act unreservedly and extend my condolences to his family. I expect the police to bring to book, as soon as possible, the perpetrators of this heinous crime. ..."


Agyebeng, the lawyer for Tiger Eye PI, told CNN that Hussein-Suale started to receive threats after a member of Ghana's Parliament exposed the undercover reporter's identity on live television and encouraged viewers to attack him.
The lawmaker, Kennedy Agyapong, showed pictures of Hussein-Suale and revealed the neighborhood where he lived in an interview on TV channel NET 2.
"That boy that's very dangerous, he lives here in Madina. If you meet him somewhere, break his ears," English subtitles on the video quoted the lawmaker as saying.
CNN has not been immediately able to reach the politician for comment.
Agyapong, a member of Ghana's ruling New Patriotic Party, can also be heard in the video offering to pay for anyone who attacks Hussein-Suale.
The lawyer said, "We complained at the time he released the video. He said in the local language he was offering a reward for anyone who would beat him up. He endangered a young man's life, and now this has happened. He has questions to answer."

We have the data which show the great volume of oil and gas deposit in our soil and the current exploration rate, and also aware of the huge revenues being generated from it by SPDC as an International Oil Company (IOC) and the Nigerian State. It is on that note we seek for a round table discussion.

While the youths of the autonomous community have maintained uttermost peace that have enabled the smooth and continuous exploration of oil and gas on our land with great consequences to the people and the environment without any hostilities from us as it is common with some oil producing communities in the Niger Delta Area; sadly, SPDC has failed in its duties in providing us our deserved welfare benefits.

We will like to emphasis that as youths of the land, we hold major stake in the polity for the smooth running of Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) facilities at the Gbaran Ubie Integrate Project site and that our coexistence as host community and your company must be established on mutual agreements and benefits. And as such, we ask that you live up to your own responsibility in order to foist the peace you enjoy.

Some of Our Demands Before You at the Meeting are:

* We want the correction of the ongoing gas-flare which is presently against every recommended standards, which is producing untold consequences on the people and the ecosystem.

* We demand for a special Monetary Fund to be made available on yearly bases for the youths from which special interventions can be carried out by the youth government body to uplift the socioeconomic status of the youth populace through empowerment programs in sports, agric., and entrepreneurship.

* We demand an improved employment quota for the teaming youths who are greatly underemployed at your company and other contracted subsidiary companies. We demand that you apply the Nigeria Local Content laws in your employment scheme.

* We want the review of your work-force at the Gbaran Ubie Integrated Project site that has more strangers employed in place of the community indigenes. And also reengage disengaged community workers.

*We demand for an urgent and transparent Environmental Impact Analysis (EIA) to unravel the level of impact your activities have affected the people and our environment. And to proffer solutions to that effect.

* Training of community youths in various skills and trades, especially on skills key to the oil and gas industry.

* Acceptance of community students seeking placement for Industrial Training (IT) in SPDC. And that they be paid stipends.

* We demand scholarships for deserving indigenes. And also that a special program be formed to send an agreed number of persons for abroad degree learning through scholarships.

* We demand for transparent General Momerandum of Understanding (GMOu) and/ or Freedom To Operate (FTO) undertakings. We equally demand an inclusion of the youth as active participants and beneficiaries of any existing and subsequent GMOu/ FTOs agreement whereby our quota as stakeholders is duly described.

* We demand for two 18seater fully air-conditioned buses for the youths.

* We demand through collaborations the concrete piling of the community's coastal lines that have been ravaged by erosion.
