Obiagelli:
What is sap please?
I thought you know the meaning of SAP, because you used it in your post. To satisfy you, it means Structural Adjustment Programme. This consists of stringent economic measures introduced by countries experiencing economic crises on the recommendation of IMF and the world bank. That IBB had to introduced these measures goes to show how much Buhari battered our economy.

Buhari left office on Aug 27 1985, he didn't take any loans because he refused IMF conditions, our dear datolee didn't tell us IBB announced the introduction of SAP (IMF loans) on October 1 1985. Who took the loans?

Thanks to barcanista, buhari did pay $50 million in a few weeks and had paid about $4 billion before he left.

You are turning the truth up side down. IBB did not take IMF loan in October 1985 on the introduction of structural adjustment programme(SAP). SAP was introduced because Nigerians protested against taking of IMF loan. If IBB had taken the loan, he wouldn't have introduced SAP. IMF loans and sap are not the same.

Fire15:
I want to believe you were born after 1983. Go back to to the history books and you will learn that Hon. Edwin Ume Ezeoke from NPP, was from a minority party, and was the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
What was Papa Annenih doing in Sokoto? Trying to reconcile members of the state PDP, meaning there was a division within the party. The act of reconciliations by the BOT Chairman of the PDP has inadvertently vindicated the Speaker of HOR on the point that, there is division within the party in the state. The constitution recognises this as a cogent reason, to warrant defection.
Edwin ume Ezeoke was speaker of the house in the second republic(1979 -1983), based on the Accord the majority party, NPN entered into with Ezeoke's NPP. The NPN were unable to meet the constitutional requirement to form the government in 1979. So they entered into an alliance with NPP, the party that came third in the election. In fact the NPP also produced the deputy senate president on the strength of that agreement. If the opposition is ordinarily entitled to it, why was the party that came second, the UPN not given the position?
Papa Aneni committee did not visit sokoto alone. They were touring the north west states to unify the party ahead 2015 election.

@bolded part, he said in one article that there was division in his former party. The National Working Commitee visited his state. He said if there wasn't any division, the NWC won't have border visiting his state and constituency.
Tambuwal is a liar. PDP committee that visited his state where on a mission to unify PDP members in all the north west. It wasn't only sokoto they visited. PDP sets up six committees to visit the six ego political zones of the country to prepare members for the 2015 elections. One of the committees headed by Aneni visited sokoto as they did the other north western states. They were not in sokoto to reconcile a Tambuwal imaginary faction.

which led to the emergence of two factions.

Mr speaker, hear you talk. See your life? That you were not elected speaker of the house by reason of your membership of the PDP is a big lie from the pit of hell. If you were not a PDP member would you have qualified to contest for that seat? Why didn't APC or CPC or other party members in the house contest. The post of speaker was reserved for PDP. As a PDP member you contested against another PDP candidate. That the ACN then supported your aspiration does not make you their member.
As for emergence of faction in PDP, tell me where are the factions. Was it the one your political godfather, Wamako and his co governor defectors created to enable them defect? That was last year. Why didn't you defect with them then? Mr ex speaker, you are on your own. Except you can also create your faction, no court in the land can accept that there is a faction in PDP. Sorry sir! PoliticsQuestions Many Nigerians Fails To Answer On The Election Of Tambuwal As Speaker. by Elose11(op): 8:59pm On Oct 30, 2014
Reading what many supposedly learned Nigerians are writing concerning the election of Hon Tambuwal as speaker of the House of Reps in 2011, two things come to my mind - either these people do not know what they are talking about or they simply refused to face the truth. Agreed that the constitution do not stipulate which party the house speaker should come from. But it is an unwritten agreement that the party with the majority produces the speaker and deputy for obvious reason. Except in the second republic where the minority produces the speaker, the majority has always done so. That of the second republic was unique because there was a political alignment of forces between the then majority NPN and the minority NPP. They called it an accord.
Those that are saying that election of Tambuwal as speaker was not on party basis, should ask themselves why were the candidates only PDP members? Why didn't the other parties that later merged to form the APC not contest that seat? Why did Gbajiabiamila and co not content? Only the PDP contested because they were the majority party. If Tambuwal was not a PDP member, he wouldn't have contested for that seat.

After I read the despicable threat letter by the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, I thought about the poor tact, the inefficiency and the cluelsessness that reeks from Aso Rock. How dare a president threatens a governor in a democratic setting? How dare he does that to a governor that was only speaking the truth? We in the APC have evidence of phone call conversations between governor Amaechi and the first Lady when she demanded the percentage of Rivers state revenue that should be paid to her. We have evidence of the road contract given to Nyesom Wike, that went undone with at least N3bn paid. We have evidence that the only project that the Niger-Delta ministry has done since President Jonathan came to power is the east-west road, which has not even been completed and has already gulped at least $1bn. We have evidence of the dilapidated Port Harcourt International airport that the Federal government has dilapidated.

When we cried out that Amaechi's life was under threat, people thought it was an opposition ramble. Today with the despicable, appalling and vitriolic letter that was composed by the presidency, all can see that this president is beyond president to clinch power. We had over 50,000 in one rally, never has it happened in any PDP rally. These people are threatened! We must fight, we must defeat the enemy. They may have the military, police and Nigeria's stolen money on their side, but we have God on our side. We must defeat the hawks come 2015!

I stand by my friend and brother, Rt Honorable Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi!

I wonder where our law makers, I mean APC, got their facts from. Atiku was not sworn in as governor of adamawa state when Boni Haruna took over from him. Atiku had just won the election in 1999 when obasanjo named him as his running mate. Boni Haruna being atiku running mate automatically stepped in as governor elect, and was duly sworn in. Boni completed his four year tenure as governor of adamawa state and contested and won a second term of another four year in 2003. He handed over to nyako in 2007. Atiku was never governor of adamawa state.

PoliticsRe: Northerners To Jonathan: You’ve Failed by Elose11(m): 9:05pm On Oct 03, 2014
Johnnyessence: Prominent voices from Northern Nigeria have replied President Goodluck Jonathan’s self appraisal in his
Independence Day address, where he said, he has performed well in the last five years of his government.
They disagreed with the President on the claim, saying he has failed woefully with his inability to put his feet
on the ground and deal with those who had been the cog in the will of Nigeria’s progress.
The northern public also faulted the celebration of the country’s independence, saying only those looting the
nation’s treasury had reasons to celebrate.
Shehu Sani, a prominent human rights activist, said, “The Jonathan administration has been able to appease
the yearning of people of South South to produce the President of Nigeria. But all that has is that he ended
up enriching a gang of militants and he has become so inept and incapable of prosecuting corruption.
“The nation has never been divided like we have been under Goodluck Jonathan and the worst of all today,
we are faced with a serious problem of insurgency and kidnapped to which the reputation of his government
damaged.
“The President has failed woefully, especially with his inability to put his feet down and deal with some
certain persons in his government who had been seen to be cog in the will of Nigeria’s progress.”
On the nation’s independence, he said, “You can categorize Nigeria’s history into four segments namely the
colonial era, democratic era, military rule, civil war and now insurgency. To assess the journey so far, you
can also sub divide it into three or four sub sections.
“You can assess the journey so far politically, economically, socially and the journey so far historically.
Politically, you can say that we have spent most of our period of independence under military rule and that
had denied Nigerians the opportunity to rise and fall and learn from the democratic process.
“The military rule was a period characterized by human right violations, tyranny, depression and
unaccountable government. It was also a period of political prosecution. The military rule was an aberration,
it was a moment in which individuals took up arms against the will and the constitution of the country and
impose themselves as political leaders. In the process, they amass wealth, stylishly the socio-political and
economic development of the country.
The Spokesman of Northern Elders’ Forum, Prof. Ango Abdullahi, said, “There is nothing to say than telling
Nigerians that there is no reason to celebrate Nigeria at 54.
While, a former federal lawmaker, Dr. Junaid Mohammed, said, “Nigeria is not in the right direction towards
development. We are only in the direction towards mayhem and confusion, poverty, corruption and
irresponsible governance. Therefore, there is nothing celebrate about our being 54. And those who go out of
their way to loot our treasury to celebrate know within themselves that, there is nothing to celebrate.” thenationonlineng.net/new/northerners-to-jonathan-youve-failed/
Are Shehu Sani, Ango Abdullahi, Junaid Mohammed, prominent northerners? Do they represent the people of the north? These are people with the born to rule mentality. If a Hausa Fulani is not in power, or not controlling the person in power, then that government has failed. Shehu Sani is contesting for senate in 2015 on the platform of APC; Ango Abdullahi and Junaid mohammed are die hard APC chieftains. Therefore their views represent that of the APC and not the north.

HealthRe: Two Ebola Cases Confirmed In Port Harcourt. by Elose11(m): 7:58pm On Aug 28, 2014
udohjaphet: so is it politicized as in BOKOHARAM
My friends this port harcourt case is highly politicized. Reading through the post of a lot of us here tells me how gullible and ignorant the average Nigerian is. Governor Amaechi will do anything to show the world how popular he is in Rivers state. The Ebola alarm is meant to stop the TAN rally scheduled for Saturday in port harcourt.
The rivers commissioner for health until this morning boastfully tells whoever cares to listen that there is no Ebola case in rivers. Yet the same man some hours later is telling us a suspected carer died of the virus after being watched for a week. And that about 100 more are still being observed.
Is it a mere coincidence that the APC is telling jonathan to stop the TAN rally of Saturday. Reason: Ebola outbreak in Port harcourt. Nigerians read in between the line. Amaechi as usual is playing politics with a matter as serious as Ebola.
Amaechi time wil tell!
PoliticsRe: Realiable And Very Sad News On Chibok Girls By Mediator Stephen Davis by Elose11(m): 2:58pm On Aug 27, 2014
bartdece: Stephen Davis is a well-known Australian mediator who was in Nigeria for 4 months trying to rescue the Chibok girls. For all those who say it is a scam, read this. The outlook is very very bleak. In fact there is no hope for the girls. 4 months of torture and rape and no way out. The article I post appeared today in several Australian media.

"Australian Stephen Davis risked life in attempt to rescue kidnapped Nigerian girls

A Perth-based international adviser has survived months of extreme danger to try to rescue more than 270 schoolgirls kidnapped by terrorist group Boko Haram in Nigeria.
Stephen Davis, 63, has returned from a four-month sojourn with rare footage of the intense fighting in Nigeria's north-east, as Boko Haram stepped up efforts to establish an Islamic state.
Dr Davis, who has a PhD in political geography, has worked as an adviser to the past two presidents of Nigeria.
He established extensive contacts with tribes and terrorist groups in Africa, including three small cells of Al Qaeda, while working as a trouble-shooter for oil and gas company Shell in the Niger delta.
When news broke in April about the girls' kidnapping from a school in the village of Chibok, near the Cameroon border, Dr Davis, who had recently moved to Perth from London, decided he could not sit on his hands.
During the journey his life was threatened more than once, but his Australian passport saved him.
"When confronted by groups with an AK-47 in my face they'd say, 'you are American, we have to kill you'," Dr Davis said.
"When you say, no I'm not American, they think you are British, and say you will still die, but when I said I'm Australian, they said that's all right.

"I have no idea why but it's certainly been helpful."
The devout Christian managed to smuggle out of the country footage of a handful of schoolgirls who escaped from Boko Haram.
They detail the atrocities they endured, including being raped almost on a daily basis.

Release agreed as 'goodwill' gesture
Following media reports that nobody knew where the girls were, he decided to reach out to his contacts.
"I made a few phone calls to the Boko Haram commanders and they confirmed they were in possession of the girls," he said.
"They told me they'd be prepared to release some as a goodwill gesture towards a peace deal with the government, so I went to Nigeria on the basis of being able to secure their release."
Arriving in Nigeria, Dr Davis quickly set up talks with commanders and he believed he had brokered a deal.
Fearing being arrested, the Boko Haram commanders - holding the girls across the border in Cameroon - had a list of conditions.
They wanted the military stood down and promised to drop the girls in a village before phoning to give their exact location.
Dr Davis said they lived up to their promise, but in a country ravaged by war and corruption, the rescue was sabotaged.
"The girls were there, 60 girls, there were 20 vehicles with girls," he said.
"We travelled for four-and-a-half hours to reach them, but 15 minutes before we arrived they were kidnapped again by another group who wanted to cash in on a reward.
"The police had offered a reward of several million Naira just 24 hours before we went to pick them up.
"I understand, from the Boko Haram commanders I spoke to, the girls eventually ended up back with them.
"I don't know what happened to the group that took them but I suspect it wasn't good."

Four girls escaped by heading west

Dr Davis said a young man kidnapped by Boko Haram and used as a driver later helped a handful of girls escape.
One kidnapped girl, who managed to avoid having her mobile phone confiscated by turning it off and hiding it in her bra, managed to call her family while hiding in bushes, but had no idea where she was or which direction she should be heading.
After being told to walk west by following the sunset each evening the four girls managed to cross the border from Cameroon and into Nigeria before being reunited with their families.
So far they are the only girls to have escaped from a Boko Haram camp.
When Dr Davis later tried to contact, via text, the young man who helped them, he received a sobering reply.
"The person you are trying to contact has gone on a journey from which there is no return," the reply read.
"He was an infidel."

Dr Davis said the longer he stayed in Nigeria the more it dawned on him the kidnappings would not end.
"It became very clear that if I was able to get 50 girls released then another group would kidnap 70 or 80 more," he said.
"So by freeing 50 you were consigning 70 or 80 more to the same fate."

Atrocities going unreported
Dr Davis said initially journalists from around the world including CNN, the ABC and the BBC flooded into the country, but they concluded it was far too dangerous to send any crews into the north-east of the country.
He said since then, the violence in north-east Nigeria and the threat of foreign journalists being kidnapped and beheaded meant there had been limited coverage of the crimes being committed by Boko Haram.
"Boko Haram used to telephone Nigerian journalists and give them a story, but that doesn't happen anymore," he said.
"They go straight to social media. They post their own material and they've learnt to become very savvy on social media and use it as an instrument to terrorise."

Dr Davis said he had realised the only way to stop the kidnappings was to stop the sponsors of Boko Haram.
While Al Qaeda was involved in training Boko Haram recruits, Dr Davis said one of their major sources of funding - aside from raiding banks - was Nigerian politicians.
"That makes it easier in some ways as they can be arrested, but of course the onus of proof is high and many are in opposition, so if the president moves against them, he would be accused of trying to rig the elections due early next year," he said.
"So I think this will run through to the election unabated.
"These politicians think that if they win power they can turn these terrorists off, but this has mutated.

"It's no longer a case of Muslims purifying by killing off Christians. They are just killing indiscriminately, beheading, disembowelling people - men, women and children and whole villages.
"I would say it's almost beyond the control of the political sponsors now.
"Terror groups are linking up in Somalia, southern Sudan, Egypt and we have fairly strong evidence they are talking with ISIS members.
"They will link up with ISIS and Al Shabaab and I think that what we are seeing in that region is the new homeland of radical Islam in the world."
See the bolded. So Boko haram is political after all. Most of the sponsores from the report are from the opposition parties.

ugopumping: Nigeria's First Lady in outrage over missed trip to Washington, D.C

by, Rachel Rabinowitz
Lagos, Nigeria
July,31,2014

Reports emanating from Aso Rock yesterday indicated that the wife of Nigeria's President, Patience Jonathan, after being informed that she would not be accompanying her husband to the United States, flew into a rage and slapped a Protocol Officer and an unnamed female Minister in her husband's cabinet accusing them of infidelity and trying to break up her marriage. She has reportedly insisted that they be fired immediately.

Nigeria's First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan, who has been in the news lately for less than praise worthy reasons, is expected to attend the U.S/Africa Presidents summit in Washington, DC, next monday. Always known to travel with a very large entourage that could rival any Super Star rapper's posse, President Jonathan leads one of the largest contingent to the summit with a 77 man crew.

In a telephone interview, the Media Assistant to Mrs Jonathan, Ayo Adewuyi, denied that she had assaulted anyone.

"This is a complete fabrication of the events that happened and which you are calling about", he said. "It is true that Mommy (Mrs.Jonathan) was upset about not being included in the trip because she wanted to use this opportunity to meet with Michelle Obama and explain what is really going on with the Chibok issue".

"As you know, she has been lambasted in the press, especially on social media, and her position on the saga has been grossly misconstrued. She would have loved to sit down with Mrs.Obama to forge a cooperation agreement and working relationship on how incidents like that could be avoided in the future. Besides, as an African woman, her role is to be next to her husband and to guide him where he falters or is lacking. She might still make the trip, we are working out the modalities", he concluding before abruptly ending the interview.

President Jonathan, with a very low approval rating and facing an uphill task in elections slated for February 2015, has been rumored with having extra marital affairs with at least two of his top female cabinet members, one of whom happens to be the powerful director of the country's Petroleum Agency, Diezani Madueke, wife of a former Naval Chief.

He is also prone to scandal.

In 2011, during the CHOGM summit in Melbourne, Australia, he failed to show up even though he was supposed to be one of the keynote speakers. There were reports of partying into the wee hours of the morning and a President in a drunken stupor accounting for why he couldn't attend the summit, in the local Nigerian press. Other reports alleged an incident with a Sri Lankan prostitute, which was said to have been hushed because of diplomatic reasons. A few members of his entourage were reportedly issued life bans from ever visiting Australia again as a result of the alleged incident.

Mrs Goodluck Jonathan herself is not averse to controversy. In 2009, while her husband was the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa, in the Niger-Delta region, she was arrested at the International Airport in Lagos while attempting to transport $13.5million in her carry-on Luggage to Kuwait.

Again, in 2011, a woman claiming to be a courier for the then Governor's wife, was also caught trying to smuggle $15million en route to Switzerland.

Nigeria, ravaged with endemic corruption, high unemployment and a terror insurgency is due for Presidential elections in early 2015.

The bolded goes to show the writer of this piece is a bad liar. Jonathan became a Vice President in 2007. So in 2009 jonathan was not the deputy governor of Bayelsa state. This piece to my mind is a complete fabrication. No press secretary to the First Lady spoke to this writer!

SenseiX: Maybe events outside Abuja and the villa but his Israeli bodyguards acccompany him fir any event in the capital at least
The above is not true. I live and work in abuja. I have not only being in many events where the president is in attendance, I have worked for him indirectly. At none of these occasions have I seen a Middle Easterner in his entourage.
