At least Wike and pdp were more constitutional by going to court. But Lalong of Plateau and apc do not know the meaning of constitutional democracy. Lalong unilaterally dissolved elected local govt chairmen in plateau state last week without the courts pronouncement. Barrister Wike and pdp knows their onions. Bye bye to Amaechi's era of impunity in my dear state. Apc e-rats cry me a river! |
The APC hypocrites you see your lives. Wike and Rivers is your headache. You cant see the big log in your eyes. You are usually the first to throw stones at others. Wike over to you. The APC though Lalong of plateau has thrown the first volley. |
Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State, on Monday, dissolved the 17 Local Government Councils in the state. A statement issued in Jos by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Rufus Bature, said the dissolution was in exercise of the powers conferred on the governor by the Constitution. It directed the local council chairmen, councilors and other political appointees to handover all government property in their care to Directors of Personnel Management in the councils. It would be recalled that the local government chairmen and councilors were elected into office in February 2014. “The governor directs all dissolved chairmen of councils; all members of the executive arm, councilors and other political appointees to hand over all government properties in their possession to directors of personnel management. “Security operatives in the various local governments and particularly the Divisional Police Officers and members of the various labour unions are to ensure that all government properties are secured in the custody of the DPMs,” it said. |
Out of the 39 mentioned, the NNPC man, Yakubu is from Kaduna state; Nafdac Paul Orhi is from Benue, same as Omeri of NOA; Wapmuk of Industrial Training fund is from Plateau state. Some others were not appointed by Jonathan. Eg he inherited Okojie and only recently renewed his tenure. And apart from Nnpc, DPR and Nimasa, others are third grade MDAs. |
This man is on revenge mission. He was retired compulsorily by the former DG for not having the required credits in his o'level certificate. he and others were retired. So you be rest assured that an angry man is now the DG of a sensitive organisation as the DSS. Expect vindictiveness from him and President Buhari. I pity the former DG and Buhari's enemies. Darkers days ahead. |
What do you expect from baba go slow? He is not a modern leader. He is going to use Lord Luggard era solutions to solve the Obama/Cameron instigated problems. Talk about putting square pegs in round holes. This is the change Nigerians 'voted' on March 28. |
A country with more than $29 billion in her foreign reserve is said to have a 'virtually empty treasury'. Diaris God oooh! |
I hope and pray APC and Obasanjo will let this man be. Or else, the hunter will soon become the hunted. When you live in glass house dont throw stone. |
The United States Diplomatic Mission to Nigeria has said the contribution of the US government to the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) on Boko Haram is $5 million, not the $5 billion as reported on Monday by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). NAN had quoted Linda Thomas- Greenfield, US assistant secretary, Bureau of African Affairs, as saying during a press briefing with the US delegation to the African Union Summit that the US government donated $5 billion to the MNJTF. But in a statement to clarify the issue, the public affairs division of the consulate wrote: “Yesterday, Monday, June 15, members of the US government delegation to the African Union Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa briefed reporters on the range of US engagement in Africa. “It was widely reported that the US is offering $5 billion to the multinational task force to fight Boko Haram. The U.S. Embassy wishes to clarify that the amount is $5 million.” According online news website, The Cable, the US Embassy clarified that at the conference, a journalist from Punch Newspaper had asked to know the assistance that US was offering to the fight Boko Haram, seeing the renewed commitment of Nigeria and its neighbours to combating the threat. It quoted Thomas-Greenfield as saying: “We have been working with Nigeria as well as the other countries in the region, to address their concerns about Boko Haram, because we don’t see this as just a Nigeria problem. “And with the new government, we are having discussions with them on how we might bolster our support. We have already been working with them on providing information, providing some training and support, and we look, with this new administration, to see how we might increase the level of support that we are providing to Nigeria. “At the same time, we have just announced since I have been here at the AU, a $5 million contribution to the MNJTF. This funding is going to the AU. We are also providing some equipment and support, and we had a number of meetings with the countries which are members of the multinational task force to look at other areas that we might support.” Thomas-Greenfield had also used the opportunity of the conference to answer questions relating to US cooperation with other African countries in fighting terrorism. On Chad, she said: “We actually have a very strong partnership with the government of Chad. We have been working with the Chadian government and its military, particularly in their efforts against Boko Haram. “We have supported them, and they have fought against those who also attacked Mali, and we will continue to engage with this government, because they have been a good partner in fighting terrorism in the region.” |
Falana is one of the greatest hypocrite we have in this country. When Tambuwal and co were going against their party's directive in 2011 where was Falana? He was wining and dining with them. Back slapping them for dealing with pdp. Now that pdp have gotten their pound of flesh, you have suddenly become an apostle of party supremacy. You are a disgrace to the legal profession. When Gani Fawehinmi died we all thought you could step into his shoes. But alas, Tinubu bought you over with his monthly pay check from Lagos loot. The like of you makes me want to throw up. The people of Nigeria that you and your likes have betrayed will live to spit on your graves |
My friend it's all a matter of interest. When Tambuwal won the speakership in the 7th house of reps, Lagos Ibadan express way was closed for almost 3 days in celebration by the ACN led by the Jagaban himself, Tinubu. So brother what goes around comes around. Why ACN Supported Tambuwal – Tinubu Leadership Tue, 07/06/2011 - 5:18am | JAMES UME Cover Stories Former Lagos State governor and national leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu has named national interest as the reason ACN members in the House gave a bloc vote to the candidature of Tambuwal, which led to his subsequent emergence as Speaker. Tinubu gave this insight at a reception in honour of ACN House members at the Ogun State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja. He said that the party’s took its position in order to advance the interest of the nation in the lower chamber of the National Assembly. Tinubu, who drove into the reception venue in company of Chief Segun Osoba, said he was under tremendous pressure to toe the line of the PDP to support a South West candidate for the position but had to halt his support for any candidate based on his conviction that the legislature was a separate arm of government that should be allowed to produce its own leaders independently. He hinted that he personally instructed all ACN members to vote for Tambuwal and not to collect a kobo from any other candidate. In his speech, Chief Bisi thanked the lawmakers, noting that he was proud of them and that the ACN would continue to play such formidable role in this administration. |
About 14 political parties from the opposition, under the aegis of Credible Alternative Alliance, on Thursday in Abuja stated that “it is it too early” for the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari to be relying on foreign countries for support and direction on certain policy issues pertaining to governance. The organisation, which also includes 13 civil society organisations, restated their resolve to provide a credible opposition to the All Progressives Congress. The parties under the umbrella of CAA include the Social Democratic Party, Peoples Redemption Party, Fresh Democratic Party, Nigeria Advance Party, Peoples Salvation Party, Change Advocacy Party, United National Party for Development, Peoples Progressive Party and Action Party of Nigeria. A former Governor of the old Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Musa; elder statesman, Dr. Tunji Braitwaite; and former Minister of Finance, Chief Olu Falae, expressed these feelings at a press briefing read by the National Coordinator of CAA, Dr. Damian Ogbonna, on Thursday in Abuja. According to them, while they wish the new administration well, “its ability and readiness to meaningfully govern Nigeria remain in doubt.” The parties said, “We note that APC appears to want to cultivate and rely too much on the support of foreign governments. This is not good for the sovereignty of our nation. CAA calls upon APC to rely less on foreign support. “The party should do more to cultivate domestic support from political parties in the country. You cannot govern effectively when you do so alone; it s not sustainable. “Both the President and other leaders of APC have been in government for decades to warrant knowing exactly what they want to do and how they want to do it. Even those of us here at CAA, with less than a year into our formation, do have bold and visionary plan upon which we predicate our drive to govern Nigeria.” http://www.punchng.com/news/stop-chasing-foreign-helps-balarabe-others-tell-buhari/ Please tell them ooh! |
Is like helping a blind man to cross the street. |
To make Rivers ungovernable for Wike. I saw him come from UK this morning on board British airways and I wonder how could a governor travel out of a state when an election he midwifed is taken place. That means he was not even in the state when the 'election' was taking place. He ran away hoping the state would burn. Fortunately the so called election was peaceful. Amaechi is playing God in Rivers state. Those the gods want to destroy they first make mad. |

THERE appears to be palpable fear in the camp of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State as speculations were rife on Monday that six commissioners in Governor Rotimi Amaechi’s cabinet were set to defect to the Peoples Democratic Party on or before Friday. Amaechi’s deputy, Mr. Tele Ikuru, had defected to the PDP on Sunday with a promise that his supporters would soon join him in his new party. Though five commissioners were seen to be Amaechi’s die- hard supporters, other commissioners could be well out of the APC and were only waiting for the right time. A source in the Government House, Port Harcourt, told our correspondent that he could only vouch for commissioners in charge of Information, Agriculture, Works and two other ministries, adding that those who stood for pecuniary gains could defect to the PDP. “Yes, the deputy governor has defected and you will agree with me that he (Ikuru) has supporters who will definitely want to go with him. We are suspecting them already and very soon, they will show themselves. “But one thing is clear, the Amaechi they are betraying has always stood by them. Amaechi does not betray anybody and anything he tells you today, check in the next 20 years, he will still maintain his stand,” the source said. Also a House of Assembly source told our correspondent that he could no longer vouch for all the state legislators because some of them now believed in stomach infrastructure. He insisted that some members of the House who believed in integrity would continue to stay with the governor. Though, the Assembly source did not mention any member likely to defect to the PDP, he said it would be unnecessary to assume that the 25 APC lawmakers were still intact. “The PDP may have infiltrated them within the past 12 months and you must know that those who would leave by this time believe in stomach infrastructure while those with integrity will continue to stay with Amaechi,” the source said. Speaking through his aide, the State Commissioner for Works, Mr. Victor Giadom, said that he was committed to the belief of Amaechi and had never thought of defecting to another political party. Giadom, who is also the Director-General of the Dakuku Peterside Campaign Organisation, described the claim that some commissioners would defect to the PDP as mere propaganda, adding that no commissioner would leave the APC for another party. The Chairman of the PDP in the state, Mr. Felix Obuah, predicted that Amaechi would be left with only five commissioners after a possible mass defection of his aides to the PDP. “Amaechi has only five commissioners and more than two-thirds of the members of the state House of Assembly have joined PDP. They are already talking with me. Today, we are celebrating one of our own (Ikuru) and his teeming supporters who have seen reasons in what we are fighting for,” he said. |
Please what is the current price of bio disc 2? I live in Abuja. Where do I get it here? How do one identify the fake? Thanks |

ANOTHER disaster visited Borno on Saturday as Governor Kashim Shettima’s campaign tour of Southern Borno turns bloody, when alleged supporters and political thugs of the governor descended on protesting youths, primary school teachers and local government workers. They were said to be protesting over the sack of more than 6,000 primary school teachers, lack of implementation of the N18,000 minimum wage and failed promises for youth empowerment at the local government level. The protesters, from Birhyel in Bayo, Kwaya-Kusar and Hawul, told the governor that he had no business coming to sell his ambition to run for the governorship of the state for a second term, having failed to make impact in the last three and half years of his stewardship. Our correspondent learnt that the protesters, who took to the streets vowing to die for their cause, were attacked with dangerous weapons by the supporters of the governor when the security operatives attached to him could not stop the protesters from pelting his convoy with stone and hurling abusive words at the person of the governor. A resident of Biu Local Government Area, Adamu Kwaya, told our correspondent that, “the thugs killed three people who were throwing stones at the governor and injured many others during the protest. Those are currently receiving treatment in Biu.” Governor says his re-election, a do-or-die affair Meanwhile, Governor Shettima shocked the people of Shani Local Government during his campaign tour of the area when he paid homage to the emir of Shani, Alhaji Nasiru Shettima Mailafiya, when he declared that his re-election in the April 11 election was a do-or-die affair, threatening to deal with any emir who received any opposition party in his palace. Shettima, who was particularly angry with the emir of Shani for daring to grant audience to opposition political parties, said all first-class emirs in Borno State risked losing their seats, as he vowed to sanction all traditional rulers who refused to support the All Pogressives Congress (APC). Speaking at the palace of the emir of Shani on Friday, the governor frowned at a situation where emirs grant audience to opposition political parties, especially the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Muhammad Imam, and former governor of the state, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, who were given a heros welcome in the area recently. Emir insists on non-partisanship But the emir, Alhaji Mailafiya, did not take the threat lying low, as he told Governor Shettima to his face that as a father, he was under obligation to receive into his palace all manners of people, including people of different political persuasions. He maintained that he had no sympathy for any political party, but that he was merely living up to his oath of office by being fair and just to all people, stressing that the traditional institution should not be dragged into unnecessary political controversies, hence his open-door policy. Alhaji Mailafiya reminded Governor Shettima that part of his charges upon him during the presentation of his staff of office was to carry everybody along and to be fair and just in his dealings with people. The governor, who departed Shani in annoyance, was said to have proceeded to Gombe where he spent the night and was expected to arrive Biu on Saturday to yet another hostile reception as the yout in Biu were said, to have been pulling down everything the APC erected in the area. They also vandalised part of Governor Shettima’s liaison house ahead of his coming. http://tribune.com.ng/index.php |

A former governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the recent party primaries Sokoto State, Alhaji Yusha’u Kebbe, has defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Kebbe said this in an interview with NAN in Sokoto on Monday. He said he joined politics to protect the interest of his people and for the development of the state. Kebbe added that he defected to the PDP to achieve the objective and to ensure the success of the party during the forthcoming elections at all levels. “If I continue to stay in the APC the state will not develop according to our hopes and aspirations,” he said. NAN also recalls that Kebbe was the governorship candidate of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) in the 2011 elections in the state. (NAN) |

Lies from the pit of hell! Buhari, like other VIPs never queue at naia abuja. Their protocol officials check them in hours before departure. Even Obi, Amaechi and co gets their passports stamped before their arrival. On arrival Buhari does not go through immigration and custom formalities. He does not queue. He walk out through departure to his car. Before Buhari arrived this morning all check in formalities have been done for him. He came in a bit late and was ushered in amidst cheers from some of his supporters. He was looking very tired. Buhari has never queue up at any of our airports. As a former head of state, this will be against protocol. |
Was this not the property Dino Melaye said belong to Adoke, the justice minister? |
Lies from the pit of hell! Buhari has never queued and did not queued today at abuja airport. As usual buhari cheched in some hours before his arrival. His protocol officials did this for him. Apc look for another way to polish the dirty image of your candidate. |
