agabusta:I don't think anybody hate Buhari. We are only concerned about his attitude towards the people who loves him. As for the bolded, good move. Pray he keeps it up. |
johnmartus:Oh boy wetin I do you na? My mouth is stil very useful oooh! If one cannot say his mind on Buhari, then what kind of democrat is he? Every day folks like spew their nonsense against our president. I don't think any body has asked God to render your mouth useless. You guys are the problem of Buhari. |
Just as he did in 2011 election, Gen Buhari is not wooing APC delegates. Buhari snubbed campaign in most southern states during the 2011 election campaign. His campaign was restricted to mainly the core northern states. And when he lost, he shouted rigging. In the run up to the APC presidential primary election, only Atiku is going about meeting states delegates one on one. Oga Buhari is in kaduna believing the slot is his by right. He is again snubbing the states delegates. Yet when Atiku is declared winner, the same Buhari will cry foul. Atiku is all over nigeria talking and lobbying his party, APC, delegates. Gen Buhari is plotting violence if he is not declared winner. I see what happened to him in 2011 election repeating itself. Buhari, like the average northern elite (with their born to rule mentality) is too full of himself. His arrogance will kill him again! |
ImportExport101:I read your wikileaks source and did not find where Ihejirika and jonathan were mentioned. The above quotes are mere conjectures from your fertile imagination. According to your wikileaks source Boko haram 1 promised to expose and deal with Boko haram 2. This promise was made in 2011. Why has none of that happened till date? Nigerians are wiser now! Boko haram is a national problem. The earlier we realize this and stop this blame game, the better for us. Soldier go, soldier come, barracks remain, is a popular saying. Jonathan cannot be in power forever. He is not bigger than nigeria. His NSA and minister of defense are northerners. How is jonathan using them to decimate their people? |
desgiezd:How does the government reduction in subsidy payment translates to an increase in pump price of oil when the price of crude at the international market is falling? Please educate me. |
Fuel subsidy is usually resorted to when the price of crude oil in the international market is higher than the consumers can afford. The government then pays the difference between what it's citizens can conveniently pay and the international price. That difference is usually called subsidy. The higher the international price, the more subsidy the government pays. Whereas if the price is lower, the less subsidy is paid. Mathematically, if the cost of buying refined petroleum product in the international market is N150, and the government decides to reduce the burden on the masses by fixing the price of, say, petrol at N100, the subsidy on petroleum to the government is N50. Now if the price has falling, as we are currently experiencing, to N120, the government may decide to reduce the price of the product for the public or reduce its subsidy payment. When government in 2011 increase the pump price of petrol to N97, crude oil was selling at between $102 and $115 per barrel. This the government translates to about N 141 per liter of petrol. The government decided to pay the difference of N44 (N141 - N97) as subsidy. Now if the price of crude at the international market has reduced to between $74 and $80 it therefore means the price per liter has also reduced. This means either the subsidy paid by the government have been completely wiped out, or a massive reduction has occurred. Since we are passing through economic crunch by the reduction in price of crude oil, our main economic stay, the government may not reduce the pump price of petroleum product. Neither will it increase it. So all the hues and cries by our arm chair critics about an increase in pump price of petrol because of a reduction in the fuel subsidy payment in 2015 budget estimate is neither here nor there. The government may even reduce the pump price of fuel, as Yaradua government did in 2008, when crude oil price crashed at the international market. The price was reduced from N70 to N65. 2015, being election year, I don't see Jonathan increasing the pump price of fuel. There may likely be a reduction. |
I met a Rwandese today at Abuja airport during immigration clearance. After exchanging pleasantary, I asked her if she was a Hutu or Tutsi by tribe. She replied that she was a Rwandese, and not from any of those tribes. I was confused. Then she told me that in Rwanda, they claim their nation before tribe. Aha! I told her in plain English, that it's the other way in Nigeria. We claim our villages first; religion second; tribe third, before country. This set me thinking. Can we begin to re educate ourselves to see our nation first before all other considerations? Can we subsume every other thing that differentiate us under a nation? Why not nigeria first and always? Why should an Ibo man that is residing in Borno state not see that state as his own if he is paying tax there? Or an Hausa man that has lived all his life in Lagos. Or a Yoruba man that was born and bred in Onitsha Why don't we substitute state of origin in our documents with state of residence? Where ever you have resided for 5 years and above, should be your state of residence and you must partake in every benefit that accrue to that state:Scholarship, employment, politics, appointment, etc. Let's begin to build a nation. Let's begin to magnify those things that unite us as nation and discard those that tears us apart. Folks what do you think? |
To APC, a rigged election is the one they are not declared winner. Even if the whole world declare the election free and fair, so long APC candidate is not the declared winner, it is rigged. Eg Ekiti election. That my fellow Nlander is the APC definition of rigging. When Oshomhole thought he was losing in Edo state, he told the world media that the election is not free and fair. As soon as he was declared the winner, the song changed. Bunch of hypocrites! |
In Obj's voice, " I just dey laugh"! |
Cutehector4u:Oh boy, what references are you referring to again? He has told us he heard him speak on Channels tv. With the date. What else do you what to see. Go to channels tv online on the date he indicated to find out if indeed Alh Mohammed made such statement. |
Prophet of doom! Na today? All your predictions on APC have always come to nought. So I will be surprised if this come true. Me think APC have come to stay. After all Alliance for Democracy (AD) is still existing against all odds! |
The only capable hands there are Dr Fayemi and Dr (Alh) Garba Abari. Wish them we'll. |
He said, “When we got there, the gate of the residence was locked but we didn’t know that there was another entrance at the back. We forced our way in and saw a bag containing a laptop, 58 temporary voters’ cards and uniform of a youth corper.” This is funny! Did you find Nnamdi registering people? Did you meet people there being registered? Finding a bag containing a laptop, 58 temporary voters card and corper's uniform does not mean an infraction was taking place. It's possible the corper kept them there for safe keeping at the end of his registration for that day. Edo and there unnecessary alarm. Oshomhole did this during the 2012 election. But as soon as he was declared the winner, all his noise about PDP rigging evaporated into thin air. |
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has called for the reconvening of the lower chamber on Thursday to consider the request of President Goodluck Jonathan to extend emergency rule in the beleaguered North-East states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe. A notification by the office of the Speaker issued on Tuesday by his spokesperson, Imam Imam, said: "On Tuesday, 18th November 2014, I received a communication from the President, Commander-in- Chief of the Armed Forces, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, requesting for the extension of the existing State of Emergency in Adamawa , Borno and Yobe States by the House of Representatives. "Pursuant to the powers conferred on me by Section 305 ( 2 ) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, which requires me to ‘forthwith convene or arrange a meeting of the House’ and in order to treat the extension before the expiration of the current State of Emergency in accordance with Section 305 (6) (c) of the Constitution, I hereby reconvene the House of Representatives." I thought the presidency and the IGP said he is no more the Speaker of the house by reason of his defection. Why was the letter from the president addressed to him as the speaker? Or has a negotiated settlement be arrived at? Could this be why Tambuwal withdrew his case from court? |
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal on Tuesday announced the jettisoning of his earlier stated political ambition to contest for the presidency of the country, citing personal reasons of ‘sacrifice’ and his decision to avoid seeking any political office. This was contained in a speech by the Speaker titled: “My Political Future, By Tambuwal”, circulated to journalists by his spokesperson, Imam Imam. According to him, he reached the decision to distance himself from politics after concluding wider consultations with elders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and taking into consideration the vastness of the country’s political space. “Having consulted widely, taking into consideration the concerns of some elders of the party, I have decided to suspend my participation in the presidential contest for now. I have done so as a sacrifice for the cohesion and unity of the APC. I am suspending my participation in the presidential race for now because I do not have any inordinate ambition to occupy any office. Nigeria is a country too great to sacrifice on the altar of partisan politics and personal ambition. What any one becomes in life is exclusively in the hands of God. Only God gives power to whoever he pleases,” said Tambuwal. Tracing the evolution of his recent political forages to Friday the 14th of November,2014 when a group of his colleagues of presented him an Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to participate in the presidential primaries of the APC , he handed down his verdict that: his “entry into the presidential race at this point may necessitate having to rework some equations on the political chessboard of the party.” Instead of pursuing his ambition, he pledged to General Muhammadu Buhari, Alh Atiku Abubakar, Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Governor Rochas Okorocha and Mr Sam Ndah- Isaiah, all of who he described as “eminently qualified” to run for the position of president. He said although he is “fully prepared, ready, willing, determined, available and armed with the requisite plans, programs and ability, to undertake the great mission of rescuing our dear country from the clutches of institutionalized corruption, gross incompetence, greed and divisiveness”; and many others, he will plough his energy into supporting the APC. “ I am convinced that with the progressive spirit and teamwork these objectives are attainable under an All Progressive Congress ( APC ) administration. ”I came into the APC to enhance and build, Therefore in the interest of our great party the APC and indeed in the overriding national interest I wish to appeal to all my associates, colleagues, supporters, admirers and friends nationwide to show some understanding. It has not been easy coming to this decision and I very well understand the frustration, disappointment and disbelief of many who have committed so much to the project including sacrificing not only their physical, financial and intellectual resources but indeed their personal ambitions in the 2015 electoral contest. Has he given up so soon? Is he not seeking elective office in 2015? Questions begging for answer. |
But your so called political sponsor of Boko haram only joined the PDP a few months ago. As at the time Azazi made his allegation, Sheriff was still with the opposition. If your reasons for US refusal to fully cooperate with nigeria is true, then why are the US and it's allies in Syria, Iraq and Afganistan? The situations in these countries are not different from nigeria. The Americans have their own agenda. The politicians from both the ruling party and the opposition are involved in the sponsorship of the insurgency in Nigeria. At least, the writer also agree with this. So why the misleading headline? Is the writer pursuing some narrow political interest? I think so! |
Nonsense indeed! By the way, FTC! |
US promised to assist Nigeria to fight Boko Haram. They have been around since then but there is no improvement. They have refused to sell arms to Nigeria, yet they are blocking Nigeria from getting arms elsewhere. Will it therefore be right to say the US is giving a tacit support for Boko Haram? When you see insurgency anywhere in the world, like what is happening in Iraq, it is more than what the ordinary eyes can see. In this era of advancement in technology, it is very difficult for a convoy of militants to go about in Hilux vehicles, mounting heavy guns, to be roaming about, without the knowledge, approval and support of the super powers. It is unimaginable. These guns cannot be carried by men, they have to be carried by vehicles. High caliber projectors and bullets are carried by these vehicles. And any vehicle that moves can easily be identified from the sky. In fact you cannot carry the guns, you have to dismantle them. So, it is global politics going around. Why the politics? What could have been responsible for it? One, if nations that have oil break up, it’s the buyers that benefit, not the seller. Iraq has a lot of oil. In the north are the Shiites and in the middle are the Sunnis. You cannot just come and divide a country like that out of the blues, except there is a serious reason to divide it. And such serious reason could be religious divide not even ethnicity. So, if you want to divide Nigeria, something like Boko Haram is good. Support them, direct them, take a big chunk of Nigeria, and let the rest say, ‘ok, let’s be on our own.’ But that will be extremely difficult for them to do because not even Muslims would like to be under Boko Haram. Not even Muslims, let alone non-Muslims. So, if Boko Haram is taking over towns, Muslims will be agitated, the way we are all agitating because Boko Haram represents anything but Islam. When Nigeria becomes lawless, Boko Haram will have a field day. And that is not an option. We have to talk to ourselves. Whoever helps Nigeria to achieve this is also helping it to stabilize. I just hope people will listen. Terrorism has no boundary. Nobody is safe anywhere. It is not going to stop in Nigeria. Nobody can stop Nigerians from going to Europe. So how do you identify terrorists among those traveling? It’s in the best interest of America that terrorism is crushed in Nigeria. Terrorism is now an opportunity for every mentally derailed person to kill himself or herself in the name of going to paradise. Somebody is just suffering from depression, but rather than committing suicide and die, he joins an organization that encourages him/her to ‘come and collect weapons and die with others so you can go to paradise.’ http://sunnewsonline.com/new/ |
Strong indication emerged Monday night that the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal may drop his presidential bid. It will be recalled that some members of the House from the All Progressive Congress, APC, on Thursday, last week, purchased the presidential nomination form for the Speaker, persuading him to run for the office. But Vanguard gathered that the Speaker who had on Friday told Journalists in Abuja that he had accepted the challenge but would continue to consult on the matter recapitulated Monday night. It was also gathered that all was now set for the Speaker to launch an all-out campaign for the governorship contest of his home state, Sokoto. - See more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/11/tambuwal-may-withdraw-presidential-bid/#sthash.DnGp7DBg.dpuf Mr unstable! Are you afraid? Thought you said you are a national figure! An ant behaving like an elephant. You can't compare yourself to real men like Buhari, Atiku, Kwankwaso and even, Nda Isaiah. Go to sokoto and rule your caliphate. That is if you can. Msheeeeew! |
Osho, go and die! PDP will win Edo and Rivers convincinly in 2015. Oshomhole wake up from your slumber. |
But don't we have Yoruba speakers in the forum? Can some body, please, interpret what the thugs are saying? thanks. |
omokidew:My guy the camera man was not using your regular camera. He was using a hidden camera. Probably a pen camera or one attached to a clip tie. That is why the camera focus was down. |
Johnnyessence:No, Aregbe is robbing! |
Pls go to you tube and watch how Osun election was massively rigged by APC in favour of Aregbesola. So APC una no be saint at all! What change are we talking about then? Change from one thief to an armed robber? No wonder Omisore took his time before going to tribunal. This may be why Aregbesola / APC has been using technicalities to delay the tribunal sittings. Please those that can speak Yoruba should transcribe the Yoruba those APC thugs were speaking. From the little I can understand, the man with pump action riffle was reporting to their oga, probably, Aregbe himself, that the boys were done. Therefore there money should be sent down. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdBXJr1sp3A

The Nigerian military whose pride has been deeply hurt by the recent reversals at the hands of Boko Haram terrorists, especially with the loss of Mubi and Vimtim, the hometown of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, has launched "Operation No Mercy" to deal with the marauding terrorists. The military, findings show, will be more decisive and unsparing in their approach to dealing with the Boko Haram menace and restore the country's territorial integrity. According to an intelligence source, the military will launch an all out operation against the insurgents, and other criminal elements including those aiding and abetting them. The source explained that the constant intervention from the political class as well as the barrage of criticisms from Amnesty International and other human rights groups affected military operations, citing how the former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt-Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika was maligned for his aggressive approach, which was effective. Source: thisdaylive.com About time, boys! Flush them out real quick. To meet their virgins in hell. They are destroying my Maiduguri! |
The students of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, arm of the All Progressives Congress, APC, have frowned at the state of education in the country, and vowed to fight any hike in tuition fees. In a statement issued, Friday, the students said they plan to mobilise over 47 million students to ensure maximum youth’s participation beyond next year’s elections. “Our attention has been drawn (to) plans by the federal government to increase tuition across all federal institutions, we will resist any attempt to make education unaffordable to the masses,” said the statement signed by Emmanuel Damilare, Interim Publicity Secretary, APC-Campus Connect at the university. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/ Imagine these bunch of lazy hypocrites! The highest school feels in tertiary institutions are paid in APC control states, eg Edo and Lagos. Yet you never protested. You are planning protest if the PDP federal government increase theirs. You are neglecting the log in your eyes and complaining of the peck in others. Again bunch of lazy hypocrites! NFA students! |
I don't think it was a mistake. Who is the super eagle's coach? Why was keshi not in charge if they were the one playing? Amokachi was in charge while keshi was on the bench. The home based eagles are rightly called green eagles led by Amokachi. The one led by Keshi is the super eagles. After all Ghana did not come with their black stars. How can our super eagles be playing with ghana's under 23! |
debo07:Oh boy why the insult? A prime minister is the head of govt but not the commander in chief of the armed forces. But a president is both. |
chimerase2:You can say that again! |
When Tambuwal adjourned the house sitting to Dec 3, and defected, the APC members applauded the decision and are still celebrating it. But when mark adjourned the senate to Nov 11 because the PDP senators were aggrieved over the ward congress, the APC senators, represented by senator Ojodu, were livid with anger. They now remember all that the nation will lose in term of budget passage, etc. Why are these people always talking from both side of their mouth. When it suits them, it is victory for democracy. If it doesn't, it is rigging and impunity. Nigerians beware of this doubled faced Janus! APC are bunch of 419ners. |
Obiagelli:You are wrong. It is not IMF loan. But IMF conditionalities. It is stringent economic measures like devaluation of currency, subsidy removal, retrenchment of workers, etc. it is not loan. |
