Nigerians are not illiterate, but I think you are. When these people you mentioned here defected to the PDP, did the PDP stop their parties from going to court? If you don't know your right and I know mine, what is my business with you? Please leave PDP to pursue this case. It wil definitely enrich our democratic credential. If the party wins this case, those others that crossed to PDP will know that their days are numbered. I,like a lot of other Nigerians, votes for the political party we identified with not the individual candidate. For somebody that represent that party to think he can take my mandate to another party is one of the greatest fraud in our political evolution. Therefore, we need the Supreme Court to settle this matter now. Amaechi did not contest the 2007 governorship election in Rivers state. But the Supreme Court gave him the PDP mandate because he is supposed to be their candidate. What happened to Amaechi, now that he has defected to another party. Why is he still enjoying the mandate rivers PDP gave to him in 2011? Nigeria we hail thee!

My parents are both from Irrua in Edo state. Dad is from Idumabi and Mum from Idumebo. Idumabi is senior to Idumebo, we are told. Growing up in these villages was much fun. Good riddance to bad rubbish! At last. The party has waited long enough for these rebels to retrace their steps. Before the formation of the so called nPDP, the mainstream PDP had refused to declare the position of party secretary vacant during their mini convention. They were waiting for the court's final decision on the Oyinlola case. But Oyinlola being not the patient type was led astray by the disgruntled G7. He was made their NAT secretary. PDP realizing this immediately swore in somebody to replace him since he has willingly relinguished his position as the party's secretary. So why the jubilation and threat to return to the mainsteam PDP when the court gave judgement in his favour? Mr Oyinlola, you can't eat your cake and have it!

If GEJ had given him a position of relevance in his govt, I bet you all these curses and abuses would have been directed at Buhari, Tinubu, APC, etc. He is a selfish individual. Henry Okah, the detained leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), who is being blamed for the 2010 Independence Day bomb that killed at least 10 people with many more injured, told a South African court the attacks were sponsored by President Goodluck Jonathan.



However,  the federal government who has linked MEND leader’s brother, Charles Okah and four others to the 2010 Independence Day twin bombing has also arraigned them before a Federal High Court in Abuja for the acts of terrorism and other treasonable offences. 

In a 194 page affidavit deposed to at a South African court, the MEND leader, Henry Okah yesterday said that the president and those working for him, had engineered similar attacks prior to October 1 bombing in March 2010.

Meanwhile, President Goodluck Jonathan has faulted the claims of Okah before a South African court.

Speaking through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, the president described Okah’s claims as not only false, but lacking factual foundation.

A statement made available to LEADERSHIP yesterday night reads in part: “The Presidency categorically affirms that these allegations are false in their entirety and without any factual foundation.

As the case of Mr. Okah’s involvement in the plotting and execution of terrorist attacks in Nigeria is already before a court of competent jurisdiction in South Africa, the Presidency does not intend to say anymore on the matter for now and will, in accordance with due process and international law, make a full representation on the matter to the court when the trial opens.”

Henry Okah made these spurous allegation when looking for straws to hold on to as a drowning man at about the close of his defence for the Oct 1 bomboing in south african court. He had since been found guilty and sentenced accordingly. So why bringing these claims here on this forum as if its recent? Pls don't drag us back. If there are no current issues to present, you can at least invent one on Tonto Dike and Nyanya!

I can confirm this, my friend. I recharged last month in Abuja and 703 was taken from my money as fixed charges as against the usual 500. Infact the rate is N23.40 per day as against N16.64 in May. When I checked the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission NERC web site, I discovered that the charges were approved by them. Your location will determine how much charges you pay. Whereas those in Ibadan zone will be paying less, those in Lagos and Kano will pay more. There will also be phased increase in tariff. It is going to be a yearly thing. By 2015 some people will be paying as much as 2K plus as fixed charges. The exploitation of Nigerians is just starting. Just as the Op stated, why will an investor spend his money improving its services when it knows head or tail, a princely sum is coming to him monthly. And don't forget that the so called private investors have not taken over. When they eventually do, we should be ready to be charged more.

ACN Lawmakers Punish Bamidele For Nursing Governorship Ambition

[b]For what it described as the flouting of party directives and nursing governorship ambition for 2014 elections, members of the six-man Ekiti caucus in the House of Representatives have removed Michael Opeyemi Bamidele as chairman of the caucus.

Speaking in a press conference in Abuja, five of the lawmakers said the action was taken after Mr Bamidele failed to yield to several consultations on why his ambition was against the rules and regulations of their party, the Action Congress of Nigeria.

The new chairman of the caucus, Robinson Ajiboye, said the caucus will approach the leadership of the House of Representatives to also strip Mr Bamidele of his chairmanship of the house of legislative budget.

Mr Bamidele, on Saturday, disagreed with the leadership of the ACN that he should drop his governorship ambition in the 2014 election for incumbent governor, Kayode Fayemi.

The leadership of the party, including its national chairman, Bisi Akande, former governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Tinubu, among others, were at Ado Ekiti during the week where they endorsed Mr Fayemi for a second term and advised Mr Bamidele to “mellow down”.

But Mr Bamidele reportedly told his supporters that he is not ready to step down for Mr Fayemi and vowed to forge ahead with his ambition.[/b]

Correct in the sense that the Nat. Assembly does not appropriate monies/budgets spent/meant to be spent by States.
Incorrect in the sense that all monies shared/distributed/released/given by the Federal Govt. must first be approved by the Nat. Assembly.
No revenue of Govt. is expended without approval.

Did you comprehend what I wrote at all? I never said in my write up that any govt can spend its revenue without legislative approval. I said National assembly can only legislate for the federal govt on money appropriation , not states. So Oshomhole was wrong to accuse finance minister of witholding money appropriated for Edo state or himself by the National assembly.
