PoliticsA Visionary 36 Year Old Presidential Aspirant. by elriyaz(op): 2:21pm On Aug 28, 2018
Youth Leadership and Economic Reform
By ADAMUGARBAII.(Presidential Aspirants)
“The trouble with Nigeria is simply and squarely a failure of leadership. There is nothing basically wrong with the Nigerian character. There is nothing wrong with the Nigerian land, climate or water or air or anything else. The Nigerian problem is the unwillingness or inability of its leaders to rise to their responsibility, to the challenge of personal example which is the hallmark of true leadership,” Professor Achebe, lamented this in his book ‘the trouble with Nigeria’.
So with this statement by Professor Achebe, there is need for Nigerians to start preparation for a new dream by the country’s great renaissance project where each citizen will transparently measure the government of the nation in four key metrics namely: better education and training for children; better standard healthcare facilities for all Nigerians; better market to transact in goods and services and more money in their pocket as a result of improved trade.
The true leader Nigeria desires today must be knowledgeable in technological trends and how they shape societal growth and transformation. Any aspirant to the nation’s presidency must be young, vibrant, intelligent and technologically-driven individual with strong entrepreneurial flair. But the aspirant must be abreast of social, economic and political challenges facing the country today and must have ready-made proposals in the form of manifesto to counter these challenges.
There are very few young and patriotic Nigerians that fit into the nation’s ideal leader possessing the qualities enumerated earlier. So far, some youths across the country have declared interest in the 2019 Presidency.
Information available suggests that Adamu Garba’s candidacy is unique. He is 35 years old and an entrepreneur who has been planning for the presidency for the past 10 years. Despite the challenges ahead in achieving his dream, one thing that can’t be taken away from him is optimism, which he expresses. He has always achieved all he set out to do in life. He set his sights beyond challenges by not allowing anything to hold him back. A burning ambition that fires the drive inside his heart, also aided his ascension on the ladder of success.
For this hopeful presidential candidate Garba Adamu II who has been a vocal with interest to serve the poor, his utterances are strong-willed, intelligent and backed with a strong emotional balance. Those are attributes obtainable of a visionary and detribalized leader that the people in the country are yearning to have. He intends to replicate this outstanding achievement in business to the nation’s socio-economic development by contesting to lead it as the president come 2019.
This is so evident in the perfectly packaged policies geared to launch the country in the socio-economic leadership quadrant. The proposed social and economic policy contained in his manifesto is quite innovative, in that there is organic link between source and application of resources for infrastructural development.
This proposed social and economic is only logical to the extent that true leadership derives from a patriotic love of country, passion to help the needy, solve socio-economic problems and the willingness to pursue a sacrificial path towards its greatness. Part of his manifesto include, unleashing the power of 180 million Nigerian spirit to the world, to create great innovations and produce very successful talent pool as is obtainable in advanced countries.
According to him, the people of the country should start to prepare for a new dream by the nation’s great renaissance project where each citizen will transparently measure the government in the four key metrics above
This youthful presidential aspirant hopeful Adamu Garba II said, he prepared a plan codenamed “Project 666” aimed to boost the economy. His plan toward the project is to give exclusive independence to His plan toward the project is to give exclusive independence to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) with sole target of getting six per cent inflation, six per cent interest rate and six per cent GDP growth achievable within the first term of his administration and the nation’s GDP growth must not be below six per cent and interest rate must not go above six per cent. This will be a bottom-line sweet spot for the country’s economy.
On power improvement, he explained that electricity is generated from fossil fuel while 19.5 per cent from hydro.
“I believe this is a misplaced priority. In Nigeria, we have 5.8 trillion cuff of gas; we have over 2 billion tons of coal especially in Enugu, Anambra, Kogi, Nasarawa and Gombe. We also have high rays of sunlight from Sokoto to Maiduguri, yet we live in darkness.
“When we harness all these resources, build gas pipelines, reactivate our coal sites and build solar plants, our estimation gives us around 30 to 40,000 MW of electricity over 10 years period,” said he.
When asked on how he can fix recurrent fuel shortage in Nigeria, he added that the oil business needs to be deregulated, privatized and converted into a high commercial value as a strategic asset in the nation.
“Government may regulate it, but our plans are to list it on major global stock exchange so that we can have inflow of right USD to power our infrastructure and nation building projects. Oil might be a strategic asset now, but won’t be by 2030. We have to get the best out of it now for development and growth for all Nigerians,” he further stated.
On Dredging River Niger, the presidential aspirant said the river, one of the longest in Africa, over 2,500 miles long and it flows right through the country down to Atlantic Ocean, if utilized properly would reduce prices of items.
“Where is River Niger today? We have about 846-mile-long shoreline around Gulf of Guinea. What are we doing with it? Previous administration has left the river to be drying up instead of dredging it and allowing mini vessels to transport shipments of goods and services, through the river into the hinterland at a much-reduced price.
“If the river is properly utilized, it will reduce prices of items because it is eight times cheaper to transport on water than on land. Considering this, it will inevitably reduce prices of items as the cost drops,” he stated.
On the way to revive the country’s crippled economy, he said, the policy to take the economy to a greater height is to build an all-inclusive economic system to attack the cancer of inflation head-on.
He said an emerging economy with a double-digit inflation could not grow at the pace needed in Nigeria. “It is clear indication of the bottleneck in our supply networks,” he added.
He said according to economic statecraft models, an emerging economy like that of the nation needs to attack inflation and ensure it does not exceed six per cent.

Teewhy2:
Even with the collected PVC, It is hard to determine who to vote for as they are just same old politicians jumping from one ship to the other fighting for their selfish pocket.
How I wish we could get a party with younger people, fresh and different ideology that can take over from these set of politicians. even with the various parties around Nigeria is so complex to convince the people in the village that there is a better candidate in another party apart from the usual Umbrella party or Broom party, also the poverty level is so deep to the extent that it will take GOD's grace before you can convince people not to take money to vote for a particular candidate.
if that's what you are yearning for then adamu garba II is the key.
