Even if it were economically viable to give that amount out to each adult Nigerian it is physically impossible to achieve that.
1. Our borders are porous, so you will end up gifting Cameroonians, Chadians, Nigeriens and other Africans that money.
2. It's not physically possible to reach every adult Nigerian because Nigeria has no data base of its citizens.
3. The Nigerian factor which is always present means that more than half of the money will be embezzled before it even leaves source for onward distribution.
So forget it. It is not possible. |

senatordave1: Its not everything that must have a basis in law moreover its not illegal or unlawful.disbursing money directly to citizens is under the auspices of the government and a primary duty.your plan is good but unworkable.if obj budgeted 16 billin dollars for power and theres none, what will 300 million do? Your plans are long term while the needs of the masses are immediate and need short term solutions.check the budgets of all the states, local and federal governments you will see that a what you outlined is enshrined thete yearly but where is the result? 30k monthly is still better than budgeting for a power plant that would be uncompleted. So in your opinion only Nigerians aged 18-35 years need money? |
Politics › Re: FG To Disburse $322m Abacha Loot To Nigerians - Daily Trust by ElsonMorali: 9:40am On Jun 20, 2018 |
senatordave1: Oga,sharing the money to nigerians is the best way to invest the money and minimze looting.using it for amenities or skill acquisition is a recipe for looting.the projects they have been embarking on since 1960,who e help? What about the billions obj invested in electricity generation, where is the power? The only time the masses feel government presence is when money is disbursed like the npower initiative,5000 a month to the poorest, feeding of school pupils per day, amnesty programme.i suggest this abacha loot and subsequent ones should be paid to the youths.the fg can liaise with ncc and the national id commission and inec and banks to get the datas of nigerians between 18-35 and pay the money directly to their account.any other way of spending the money is wrong.funds are mostly looted under the guise of capital projects, provision of amenities. There's no basis for that in law. Talk about inequality. What makes you think that only those who are between the ages 18 and 35 need the money the most? If you go to the motor parks you will see old people begging for money to feed. How are they covered in your 18-35 age bracket? There's no way the government will share the money that it will reach even 10% of the poor in Nigeria. You don't share money when you can create wealth instead. All these schemes you mentioned are also sources for siphoning and embezzling public funds in case you don't know. Provide constant and stable electricity and give loans to youths and others who wanna start some form of business. The constant electricity will help their businesses and they will be able to generate income, take care if their family and elderly and maybe even provide employment for one or two people. Do this for 10 million youths and see the difference. Start giving #5,000 to people and see how they will be in perpetual poverty. The Abacha loot is not infinite. One day it will end. For how long do you think the government can provide #5,000 for the youths? Besides the scheme has a shelf life. Once another government comes in they will scrap it and loot all the money. Pour the money now into electricity and create a safe haven backed by law for no-interest or low interest loans to youths. N-Power, K-Power, T-Power or whatever you call it are all just means to enrich a select few while giving pennies to the supposed beneficiaries. |

Very stupid idea. Give money to the poorest and they'd probably go and marry another wife.
Why not invest it in electricity generation and distribution, and provide soft loans to people if you are serious about helping the people. |

To clear your ignorance, the FG Coastal Rail Project from Lagos-Calabar traverses Lagos-Shagamu-Ore-Benin City-Sapele-Warri-Yenagoa, with siding to Otuoke-Port Harcourt-Aba-Uyo-Calabar and branch line from Benin City-Abudu-Onitsha, including Onitsha Rail Bridge.
The second FG rail project is Lagos-Kano rail project which will traverse Lagos-Abeokuta-Ibadan-Oshogbo-Ilorin-Jebba-Minna-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano, with branch line from Minna-Abuja and Abuja-Kaduna.
Loans from China Exim Bank will be used to fund the three segments from the two major rail projects. Lagos-Ibadan, from Lagos-Abeokuta-Ibadan with extension to Apapa Port Complex with the segment two of Lagos-Kano.
Lagos Monorail is a Lagos State project, Ogun State and Oyo are also working on a joint rail project.
That's why I always advise Igbos who cry marginalisation to hold the Igbo leaders responsible. Honestly, look at Ogun State and look at Abia State. If you say Ogun is benefitting from closeness to Lagos, is Abia not close to Port Harcourt?
Instead of Igbo Governors to use their brains and improve the region, the Governor of Ebonyi is fighting the Governor of Anambra for changing the name of a street while the imbe.cile in Imo is playing with sand and moulding statues like a toddler. Is Igboland cursed? Well said. |

Fuckyoumod: who else noticed the total neglect of the South - south and south - east?
Even the Niger Delta that would solely generate the money that will be used to fund this rail projects was neglected and none was sighted in the Niger delta.
I blame Goodluck Jonathan.
And for the militants in the creeks this is when your needed.
This is the kind of injustice you should be blowing up oil and gas facilities and pipelines for.
This is injustice! I see what you're saying. But here's the thing. Constant agitation of the Southeast people for their own country has made investments there very risky. Why develop a land that may soon break away from Nigeria? Then as for the South south region, why would you site such a project in a place where it's 100% sure that the Chinese workers would be abducted and the project will fail especially when the militants start blowing up the rails. It's nothing personal, it's only a business decision. |
