IDENNAA: I wouldn't use the word "aboki" on the northern boys ,although it's not a bad word. Aboki actually means my friend. But ,northerners are not gifted in football. They are good runners but when it comes to technical abilities they are very poor. From Tijani Babangida, Ahmed Musa, Sani Kaita , Sanusi etc. They are tireless and good runners but that's just about it.
If I am looking for talents in Nigeria I wouldn't spend a lot of time in the north. The funny thing is they have great numbers in the age grade competition but not one has made any impact. The NFF kept pushing them into these under age teams but at the end, the southern boys always come ahead.
Side note: what is Ahmed Musa still doing in the team. The presence of Ahmed Musa in the team is a testament that Nigeria will never develop. Its a shame. Musa is not a Messi Ronaldo or even Kanu Nwankwo....it angers me. Just like you, I'm also a Jos guy, so I speak the language and know what Aboki means. You know that when used on the streets it connotes something negatively different. I will be very BRUTAL, he plays like an aboki, no football ⚽ intelligence and very limited technical ability The quote above was in English not Urohbo, so his explanation was dumb. Agreeing with you, I've played football with some of them who were really rough, so, yes, there might be some reason why they usually don't go far. And for someone like Komekn who claims to be civilized, cultured, a non-racist and even a victim of racism who accuses other people of bigotry, I just feel he's in a glasshouse throwing stones. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by elunico: 12:36pm On Jan 08, 2024 |
komekn: You are the bigoted double standard hypocritical tribalist, " out of the depths of the heart the mouth speaks" and as a man thinketh so he is.
Aboki is a term of endearment in one context in another a term ascribed to a lackadaisical mentality.
It's a term I hear continuously, when addressing many a person from the North ⬆️ it's not an insult but an ice-breaker. Just as I would use Nwokem, Aushare ,etc.
So when I check exchange rates at abokifx ,abokiforex, etc I am perpetrating racism, in your minuscule mind.
You are creating a storm in a tea ☕ cup and fanning the flames 🔥🔥 of racist bigotry, where there is none. You are a inconsequential trouble 😵💫 maker.
Finally,l don't detest any player that's too emotive, l dint know him and never will probably. I just think he is not very good simply.
You no get work . You're just idîotic fella who thinks he can bamboozle all of us here with your diversionary tactics. he plays like an aboki, no football ⚽ intelligence and very limited technical ability The quoted text above wasn't in anyway used in any context of endearment it was you enhancing the stereotype of Northerners being backwards. You wrote what you wrote in English, so I fvkıng understood it. Mind you, I'm not the biggest fan of Shehu, Musa, Sadiq or Zaidu, but I'd never use the term you used. |

komekn: I would disagree.
I will be very BRUTAL, he plays like an aboki, no football ⚽ intelligence and very limited technical ability.
Plenty of running and stamina but almost no end product. Aina is not a LB but has far more football intelligence technical ability and end 🔚 PRODUCT. In this regard Aina is better, don't know much about Bruno apart from doesn't seem to be getting much game time and is not first choice.
Why is he selected for the SE 🤔 You complain about racism, yet, here you use a derogatory ethnic slur against Sadiq because you detest him. You then go on to call Trump a racist. A fvcking hypocrite you are. |

Tobichimezie: They got to the 2002 AFCON final and got undone by very corrupt officiating against Cameroon in that infamous PK shoot-out...my point is those 1994-2002 guys always knew how to stand tall and deliver in big moments when we needed them, the only problem with that generation was that they were too individually skilled to the detriment of playing as a TEAM, and most of the players were full of ego. The 2006 ouster against Angola was one of those upsets that happen in football.
Right now, can you point out one single player from this team who can produce a moment of magic when the chips are down? You see? Misrepresenting facts. The Afcon you were talking about was the 2000 Afcon where Ikpeba's penalty was Misjudged to be on the line. So, I ask again, what did those guys achieve from the year 2002 onwards? Don't come at me with some more excuses. |

Tobichimezie: Osimhen lacks that elite mentality to win us key games or even carry us in the AFCON like the likes of JayJay, Oliseh, Aghahowa etc did in the 2002 AFCON. I know most of us hate to hear this truth, but Osimhen isn't THAT GUY, no player on this current team has that world class cutting edge ability to carry and lead this present crop of SE players. Those guys you mentioned, tell me one thing they won during that period? They even failed to qualify for the 2006 WC. |

Danielnino00: Here we go! Voting of Members of the Nomination Committee Gentlemen and ladies of the thread, it is time for us to vote for those who will stand as representatives of this thread and partake in the selection of award categories and award nominees. This year, the nomination committee will be made up of at least 7 members: myself, icon4s who pioneered the award will continue as an honorary member of the committee and at least 5 monikers from this thread. Every member of this thread is eligible to vote and be voted for. But let's keep in mind that this isn't a popularity contest. Vote for those you believe have the knowledge and passion for Nigerian football. Here's the rule for voting: 1) You're to vote for 5 monikers from this thread to join the committee; 2) Vote the monikers in order of preference, from top to bottom; 3) Points will be awarded to each moniker you vote for. Your first nominee gets 5 point, the second gets 4 points, the third gets 3 points, fourth gets 2 points and fifth gets 1 point. 4) At the end of the voting process, the five monikers with the most points will join the committee; 5) In the event that two or more monikers are tied on points, they will all be added to the committee, as the goal is to have as many monikers to contribute to the process. 6) You're allowed to nominate yourself 😉
Voting closes on Wednesday, November 8th 2023, 10pm Nigerian time.
Thank you. I choose to nominate: 1. Charlesemeka85 2. Kog45 3. Maidaboy 4. BascoVanVeli 5. Chriskels |

TheSuperNerd: Our defence has to be so set up in a way that we limit the opponents to few or very little shots on target against us. Compactness is key.
Right now we are so porous that every shot directed at our goal is likely converted.
As for setpieces, well... if Peseiro added it to his training menu, we would see the result. Set piece specialty is another weapon on the offensive but it seems Jpes isn't taking it so seriously yet. The last time we had a defense like that was at the WC. The oyinbo wall really protected Uzoho then. |

TheSuperNerd: Injury knocks out Osimhen from 2026 World Cup qualifiers
Victor Osimhen will most likely miss next month’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe after he suffered a second degree hamstring injury on international duty.
Reports from Italy said the injury the Napoli striker suffered while playing against Saudi Arabia in a friendly in Portugal Friday will rule him out of action for between four and six weeks.
The World Cup qualifiers are scheduled from November 13, just about the time he will likely begin rehabilitation from this latest injury setback.
Osimhen left the Super Eagles training camp Sunday to return to Italy after a scan was done on the injury.
He will also miss Serie A matches against Verona, Milan, Salernitana and Empoli as well as the UEFA Champions League trip to Union Berlin.
In November 2020, Osimhen was sidelined for several weeks after he dislocated his shoulder playing for the Super Eagles against Sierra Leone in Benin City.
Source: Score Nigeria. If this is true, then he wouldn't be PLAYING the AFCON. |

As in I rubbed my eyes whether I was dreaming because it was so surreal. That's not the worst he has even conceded. I can give him a little pass for that goal. Other goalkeepers could possibly fumble that too. Maduka has conceded more ridiculous goals. |

Sadiq's Afcon chances hang on Awoniyi's return to full fitness and the form of other strikers before the list is finally drawn up. I was sort of expecting a Muani / Isak style from him. |
