Aziza was bombed in the air when returing from a funeral with Kaduna state governor Patrick Yakowa.
Dasuki also was involved with agents who planeted bombs on the aircraft Governor Suntai borrowed from senator NAllah.

Politics › Boko Haram Can’t End Overnight – Lai Mohammed by emamos(op): 3:55pm On Dec 08, 2015
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said the military has sufficiently degraded the capacity of Boko Haram to launch spectacular attacks while also retaking most of the territories seized by the terrorists.
”Winning the war against insurgency is about sufficiently degrading the insurgents’ capacity for action. This the military has substantially done. The rest is mop-up actions,” the Minister said at a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday, following his recent trip to Borno State to visit the areas liberated by the military.
”The military has largely met the deadline issued by the President, and would have done so totally by December. The question, therefore, is no longer whether the military will be able to meet the December deadline, it is about how to give the military all the support it requires to continue to keep our country safe from the activities ofthe terrorists,” he said.
Alhaji Mohammed however explained that, decimated and put on the run, the rump of the insurgents has now resorted to attacking soft targets: motor parks, entertainment centres, houses of worship, etc.
”Make no mistake about it, this will not stop overnight. It will gradually taper off. That is the way it happens anywhere such a war has been fought.
”It is also important to situate the deadline by the President in its necessary context. Insurgency is an asymmetrical warfare, not a ‘shooting war’ between two Armies. No truce or armistice is ever signed to end such war. The implication is that while Boko Haram can no longer execute spectacular attacks, hold territories, declare a Caliphate and even collect taxes, lone wolf attacks – which are like the death pangs of a dying horse – will continue for some time and then fizzle out. This is the absolute truth,” he said.
The Minister, who went on the tour of the liberated areas with 33 journalists, paid a glowing tribute to the military, saying: ”Let me say, without mincing words, that all of us, Nigerians, owe a debt of gratitude to our men and women in uniform for their patriotism, sacrifice and service. I say this because what I saw during my trip to Maiduguri, Konduga, Kaure and Bama last Saturday left me, and indeed all members of my entourage, in awe of the commitment and loyalty of the military to our country’s peace and unity.”
He rallied Nigerians to support and own the war, adding that it is not a war for the military alone.
”Gentlemen, what is missing now in the war against terrorism is the civilian component, the need for all Nigerians to support our gallant men and women in uniform, and the need for them to own the war.
This is not a war for the military alone, it is a war for all Nigerians,” the Minister said, urging the media to inform our people about the heroics of the military and the progress being made.
”On our part, this Ministry will soon initiate a process to bridge the gap between the military and the media, and the structure will include top military and intelligence officials as well as senio journalists.
The essence is to ensure a smoother information flow, with a view to keeping the media better informed so they can in turn better inform Nigerians about the war that is now largely won.
”We also plan to use the media to sensitize Nigerians to be more security conscious, especially now that the Christmas and New Yearfestivities are approaching,” he added

Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court, Abuja, has adjourned the trial of the embattled former National Security Adviser, NSA, Sambo Dasuki, to January 20, 2016.
The case was adjourned by the judge after consultation with counsels to the plaintiff and the defendant.
The federal government had on Thursday filed a fresh application seeking to prevent Dasuki from travelling abroad for medical treatment. Counsel to the government, Oluseyi Opasanya, in his fresh application, asked Ademola to stay proceedings in the ruling he delivered on November 3, which granted Dasuki permission to travel abroad for medical treatment and ordered an immediate release of his passport.
“The new application,” Opasanya said, “takes precedence over the earlier application.”
But lawyer to Dasuki, Ahmed Raji, in his brief, countered the new application, arguing that the previous application, which sought to revoke his client’s bail, was yet to be determined.
He then prayed the court for a short adjournment to respond to the fresh application which made the court to fix Monday for hearing of the application.
However, at the resumed hearing on Monday, the court adjourned the matter to January 20

Politics › How Ex-gov. Ohakim Fraudulently Acquired N270 Million Abuja Home – Witness by emamos(op): 8:41pm On Dec 07, 2015
A prosecution witness, Abu Sule, on Monday told a Federal High Court, Abuja, that he was used as a proxy by former Gov. Ikedi Ohakim of Imo State to acquire N270 million home in Abuja.
Mr. Sule gave the evidence at the resumed trial of Mr. Ohakim on charges of money laundering and false assets declaration preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The witness, who was examined by the EFCC lawyer, Festus Keyamo, said Mr. Ohakim pressured him to buy the property in his (witness) name after providing the cash.
“My name is Abu Sule, I am the Managing Director of Tweenex Consortium HD Limited.
“The defendant, in 2012, requested us to find a house for him to buy and we eventually got one at No. 60, Kwame Nkrumah Street, Asokoro, Abuja.
“The property was valued at 2.29 million dollars which was about N270 million as at that time.
“ He brought the money in dollars. He said that I should go and pay for the house.
“The following day, I called the owner of the house, one Alhaji Isah Maidabino, and we met at Unity Bank, Maitama.
“Maidabino collected the money and he gave me the original title documents.
“I informed Ohakim and he told us the name we should use in the Power of Attorney and the Deed of Assignment.
“He said I should use the name of my company for the Power of Attorney and the Deed of Assignment and I went ahead to do it because Ohakim has been my benefactor,’’ he said.
The witness added that Mr. Ohakim instructed him to renovate the house and issued him with a tenancy agreement receipt on the pretence that he was renting the property from his company.
Mr. Sule also told the court that Mr. Ohakim gave him N20 million to renovate another of his houses at No.8 Haile Sellassie Street, Asokoro Abuja.
Justice Adeniyi Ademola adjourned the trial till Jan. 26, 2016 for the defendant’s lawyer, Awa Kalu, to cross examine the witness on the veracity of his testimonies.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the judge also granted the application of the defendant to travel abroad for medical treatment.
The application was argued by another lawyer on the defendant’s team, Chris Uche.
Mr. Uche had urged the court to release Mr. Ohakim’s international passport to enable him to travel abroad for four weeks for medical treatment.
Mr. Keyamo did not oppose the application, but said that the defense should produce the defendant at the next date of hearing.
Mr. Ademola ordered the release of the passport on the condition that the defendant must, upon his return to Nigeria within 78 hours, return the passport to the court.
The judge also ordered that Mr. Ohakim’s surety must sign an undertaking to produce him at the next adjourned date.
He said the surety would be remanded in prison if he failed to produce the defendant, and would be made to take the defendant’s position in the trial

Politics › FG Backtracks On December Deadline, Says Suicide Bombings May Continue by emamos(op): 7:34am On Dec 07, 2015
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has said the ongoing military campaign against the Boko Haram terrorists in the North-east will ensure that all territories hitherto captured by the terrorists are liberated by December 2015, but noted that suicide bombings on soft targets may continue beyond the date.
The minister stated this yesterday in Maiduguri, during a one day official visit to Borno State.
“What the military can do is only to liberate all our territories from the hold of Boko Haram members, if we think that there will be no more bombings after December, it is not feasible. There might be bombing of soft targets, but we as a government, will ensure that all our territories are liberated from Boko Haram terrorists,” he said.
However, Borno State Governor, Alhaji Kassim Shettima, expressed optimism that the on-going reconstruction and resettlement process in all the affected communities in all the 27 local government areas in the state would improve the fortune of the people in the state within a year.
Shettima, while receiving the minister at the Government House last Saturday evening, noted that the state witnessed unimaginable destruction from 2009 when the state came under various attack and occupation by the Boko Haram terrorists.
“Believe me, the war is over and we are on the part of regeneration, reconstruction and resettlement of our people, so no matter how windy the weather maybe, it won’t rain forever. The Borno sun will start shining once again and very soon. We will do whatever it takes to work for the people, and for us, we have no option than improve on the quality of governance to work for our people, if at all we want to live in this country. Let me be frank with you, we have no option than to put on our thinking caps and do what is right for our people,” he said.
The governor added: “There are 27 local government areas in the state. There is none that didn’t witness one attack or the other from 2009 till date. At some point, like you know, no fewer than 20 local government areas were under the occupation of Boko Haram members. During the occupation by insurgents, some of these local government areas were almost raised down to zero

Politics › Minimum Wage: Call Your Governors To Order, NLC Tells APC, PDP by emamos(op): 2:12pm On Dec 06, 2015
The Nigeria Labour Congress has called on the ruling All Progressives Congress and opposition Peoples Democratic Party to call their governors to order for some of the governors’ insistence on reducing the minimum wage.
A statement by the president of the NLC, Ayuba Wabba, said the governors’ insistence on either abolishing the N18,000 minimum wage or retrench workers was invitation to crisis.
“The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) wishes to categorically affirm that the path our governors are heading can only lead to one outcome: a head-on collision with Nigerian workers and Nigerian people!
“In apparent reaction to our statement that the threat by the Nigerian Governors’ Forum to jettison the N18, 000 National Minimum Wage would amount to a declaration of war against the working people of our country, Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State, and chairman of the Governors’ Forum, has restated the determination of himself and his colleagues to go ahead with the reduction of the national minimum wage or in the alternative embark on massive retrenchment of workers.
“By his reaction, the congress is convinced that Governor Yari is still holding on to his earlier argument that due to the fall in the price of crude oil at the international market, state governments are no longer in the position to pay the legal minimum wage to their workers.
“In case Governor Yari and his colleagues, most of whom are fresh in their positions, might not be aware, the principle behind minimum wage is that it is the minimum salary a worker is envisaged to earn to sustain himself or herself and his or her legal or legitimate dependents, over a daily or monthly period.
“In our context, a worker’s legitimate dependents include the worker’s spouse and four children.
“In simple arithmetic terms, N18, 000 divided by six (6) persons over 30 days amounts to N100 per day per person, or N600 for the six (6) persons per day. This is the amount that is expected to feed six people daily.
“Then they have to find some amount from the same wage for accommodation, healthcare, transportation, education, and maybe, some change for clothing to cater for basic necessities of daily existence.
“For us in the NLC, governors/states are going away with N500 million, N50 million or less; from the monthly federation account sharing not on account of the fall in the price of crude oil alone, but because of the earlier choice(s) the governors made in recklessly mortgaging their states’ revenue through uneconomical borrowing from commercial banks.
“In addition, our governors continue to engage in practices that are completely against the norms and standards of governance in civilised societies, especially those whose economies are under stress such as profligate lifestyles; unnecessarily bloated political aides, awarding contracts that are clearly several notches above prevailing market costs, dedication of hundreds of millions of annual budget to security votes which are unfortunately more often than not used as slush funds, while expending several millions of naira on their travels and tours that yield literally nothing in return.
“This is apart from the mindless pensions running into several millions of naira that many former governors had, at the point of their exit from power, dishonestly awarded themselves, and which no successor governor has mustered the courage to revoke since this immoral practice began in 2007 or thereabout

Politics › INEC Needs To Review Use Of Card Readers Before 2019 – Jonathan by emamos(op): 1:40pm On Dec 06, 2015
Former President, Goodluck Jonathan has called on the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, to review the use of card reader and permanent voter cards, PVCs for elections before the 2019 general election.
Jonathan made the call yesterday in Otuoke, Bayelsa State after being accredited for the state governorship election.
The Card reader failed to read Jonathan’s Bio-metrics during the election just like it did in the presidential election.
He said, “I am quite worried about the PVC and card reader,”
“From my experience today, INEC must review this issue of card reader and PVC very well before we go into the 2019 election, because even during the presidential election, the machine rejected me and my wife.
“Today, because they changed my own, they changed my wife’s own, it was successful. But about five people who came with me, including my mother, my elder sister and a former commissioner in Bayelsa state, were unsuccessful. These are known people, so they cannot carry fake or cloned cards. They are known senior people from this state. So, out of five of us, only me and my wife were accredited.
“The percentage of failure is high and I am a bit uncomfortable. But being an isolated state election, they should be able to handle it because they have enough of the incident forms. So, they will all vote. But I will advise that before we go into the 2019 election, the whole concept of the card reader and the technology must be properly reviewed.”
Jonathan also urged INEC to ensure that the exercise ends smoothly.
“Transparent and credible elections are the hallmark of democracy. When elections are not credible and peaceful, then we elect leaders that cannot give account of their stewardship,”
“The votes of the citizens must count. So, I am advising all my people from Bayelsa state to be calm, the young people must be calm to ensure that we have a peaceful and credible election,” Jonathan said

Crime › Five SSS Officials Steal N310 Million, Two Arrested by emamos(op): 12:55pm On Dec 06, 2015
The State Security Service, SSS, said on Sunday that it arrested two of its officials involved in the theft of N310 million.
The officials allegedly robbed a Bureau De Change operator of the money on November 20.
Three other SSS officials involved in the robbery are still at large, the agency, also known as DSS, said in a press release. It also said N66 million of the stolen funds has been recovered.
Read the statement below
N310 million ROBBERY-DSS ARRESTS CULPRITS: N66.4 MILLION RECOVERED
The Department of State Services (DSS) wishes to inform the general public that the Service has arrested two (2) out of five (5) of its Staff involved in the robbery and sharing, on 20th November, 2015, of the sum of three hundred and ten million naira (N310m) belonging to a Bureau De Change operator in Abuja. While three (3) of the DSS staff are now at large, the Military Authorities have commenced a detailed investigation of five (5) of its personnel involved in the crime.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that Abdulrasheed Ahmadu MAIGARI of the DSS, conspired with four (4) other colleagues of his namely: Solomon INUSA, Peter OKOYE, Patrick ISHAYA and George Mwatapwa IBBI, to carry out this reprehensible act. The five (5) military personnel were led by one Capt. Hussein Ishaku MSHELIA. Meanwhile, the Service has arrested MAIGARI and IBBI; and MSHELIA equally arrested by the Army authorities. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend those still at large. A total of Sixty-Six Million Four Hundred and Thirty Seven Thousand, Four Hundred and Forty-five Naira (N66,437,445.00) and Six Thousand Two Hundred Dollars ($6,200) have so far been recovered, while efforts are being made to recover the remaining amounts. It is to be noted that security agencies now act in concert, thus the joint investigation undertaken with the Police, Army and the DSS.
This action of the Service is in line with the posture of the current Administration and DSS management focus on professionalism, transparency and accountability. Those so far arrested have been suspended pending the completion of investigations. For the avoidance of doubt, the Service wants to reiterate its commitment to the basic ideals and principles as established by its forebears and will not spare anyone found to be contravening the rules and regulations or the laws of the land. We therefore encourage members of the public with useful information that could lead to the arrest of those at large to volunteer same to the Service or other security agency. The DSS also wishes to use this opportunity to assure all law abiding citizens of their safety and urge them to partner with the Service in the smooth discharge of its responsibilities
