quiverfull: You start by writing that you are not here to paint anybody bad, and in the next breath, you call the COAS Gen "push up" Buratai. Paradox. Back to your questions, the COAS was on his way to attend the graduation ceremony of some new young military officers, and pay homage to some Emir in the town. You don't expect him to stay holed up in Maiduguri permanently because of Boko Haram without attending to his other duties. And for actually relocating to the cente of the insurgency in the North East, he is totally different fron Jonathan's COAS who whoring away and getting drunk everyday somewhere in town. Lastly, I do not condone lawlessness or extrajudicial killing by law enforcement agencies but that Islamic Movement sect had become a law unto themselves. Ask any one living in Kaduna, Kano or Katsina, people are afraid of them. During this last procession of they blcked one entire side of a federal road for four days, occupying different schools along the way without permission and generally being a nuisance to everyone. Let them learn to respect other people's religion/rights whilst practicing theirs. ^ tanx u bro but rememba he has validatd his sicnes |

Validated: I am indeed sick. Sick because a General that is paid with my money (tax) to protect innocent lives decided to do the opposite and you applaud him. Yes, I am sick because we have a nation that does no value the lives of her citizen, even in 2015 21st century). This is not 1976 dear, the rest of the world have moved on. Yes, I am sick because you cannot see beyond your noses, just because you are either politically blinded or etnically bias. Yes, I am sick of a system that does no value lives. A system that gives anyone in authority the right "impudence" to maim, kill and destroy. I am sick... of your type. ^^^^ May God heals u |

Crime › Man, 42, Arraigned For Stealing 26 Crates Of Beer by emamos(op): 3:30pm On Dec 17, 2015 |
A driver, Jude Okere, 42, was on Thursday arraigned in an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing 26 crates of Orijin Beer worth N425,500. Okere, who resides at No. 11, Ogunmuyiwa St., Sango-Ota, Ogun State, is facing a charge of stealing. The prosecutor, Sgt Joseph Ajebe, told the court that the offence was committed on Oct. 7, at about 8.00p.m., at Cryslad Nigeria Ltd, located at Sakamori Camp, Agege, Lagos. He said that the accused was a driver with Cryslad Nigeria and was asked to take the crates of Orijin to a customer in Abia State. “Okere loaded from Guinness Nigeria Plc enroute Aba on October 7, but did not return to Lagos until December 3, a trip that was meant to take five days. “It was later discovered that 26 crates of beer were missing and Okere could not account for them. He also refused to give reasons why the journey took him so long,” Ajebe said. The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Section 285 stipulates a three-year sentence for offenders. The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge. The Chief Magistrate, Mr Alexander Komolafe, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000, with two sureties in like sum. He said that the sureties must show evidence of three years tax payment to the Lagos State Government. Komolafe adjourned the case till February 10, 2016, for hearing. http://www.punchng.com/16508-2/ |

Politics › Dokpesi Calls For Prison Reforms After Kuje Experience by emamos(op): 3:21pm On Dec 17, 2015 |
Founder of DAAR Communications Plc, Chief Raymond Dokpesi has called for a national prison reform. Dokpesi made this call at the AIT Christmas party after his release from Kuje prison where he was remanded until he met the bail conditions set for him by Justice Gabriel Kolawole of the Federal High Court, Abuja. Describing the state of Nigerian prisons as appalling, the media mogul charged the management of his television station to make prison reform a burning issue. The chieftain of the People Democratic Party, PDP, was on December 9 arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, before the high court on a six-count charge of money laundering and fraud-related procurement. Dokpesi, who was arraigned alongside his firm, Daar Investment and Holdings Ltd, pleaded not guilty to all the six counts. After taking his plea, Justice Gabriel Kolawole ordered that Dokpesi be remanded in EFCC custody pending the hearing of his bail application by 12.30pm on Thursday. This was as he fixed trial on the matter for February 17, 18 and March 2 and 3. The prosecution led by Mr. Rotimi Jacobs SAN, had accused the defendants of receiving N2.1bn from the Office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA, between October 2014 and March 19, 2015 for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP presidential media campaign in breach of provisions of the Public Procurement Act, Money laundering Act and the EFCC Act. On December 14, Kolawole granted bail to the AIT founder, in the sum N200m and two sureties in like sum, but held that he be kept at the Kuje prison, Abuja, pending the perfection of his bail conditions. He left the prison three days after he was granted bail by the judge. After his release yesterday, Dokpesi attended the AIT Christmas party where he charged the management of his TV station to bring the need for prison reform to the front burner of national discourse. He asserted that the situation of things in the prison is appalling.http://dailypost.ng/2015/12/17/dokpesi-calls-for-prison-reforms-after-kuje-experience/ lalasticlala, seun |

[s] mrrights: NO HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR PRESIDENT BUHARI. I do not wish to wish President Buhari happy birthday. I want to be the person who openly doesn't wish president Muhammadu Buhari happy birthday. This is my way of protest against the silence of the President over the mass killing of shiite in Zaria. From reports, hundreds of Nigerian citizens were killed, yet the President keep mum. This is not only wrong, it is a sign of arrogance of the first order. While his spokesmen are quick to issue statement concerning rumor online, they do not find the lives of over 100 Nigerians worthy of any attention. Even when foreign countries such as Iran, UK, USA etc had shown concern, even when the leader of Iran had reportedly called the President, even when Senate and house of Representatives had set up investigative panel, the president do not find it worthy of his attention. The concern of the over 170m Nigerian seems not to matter, they don't deserve explanation or reassurance. I am not happy with the President and I will not wish him a happy birthday. [/s] |
