Crime › FRAUD: EFCC Busts $5.5m Corporate Scam by emamos(op): 12:40pm On Sep 14, 2015
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the weekend, busted a major corporate fraud when it took into custody one Alhaji Mohammed Gobir for allegedly defrauding foremost outdoor advertising company, Afromedia, of huge sums of money in various currencies.

According to a source at the EFCC, the mega fraud fetched Gobir $3,500,000 (N514,457,151.87), $2,102,740, and £51,000 at various times.
The source, who would not want to be named, told LEADERSHIP that Gobir, a 55-year-old father of two, was picked up by operatives of the EFCC in the early hours of Saturday at his Ikoyi residence and is still being interrogated at the Lagos office of the anti-graft agency.
The suspect allegedly defrauded the advertising company through a phony investment deal.

The suspect was allegedly introduced to Afromedia sometime in 2008 by their Private Placement Consultants, Synergy Capital Advisory Limited, as a high network investor who was willing to inject N1billion into the company, through the acquisition of shares.

Based on his touted pedigree as a potential investor, Gobir got close to the management and in no time became the chairman of the Business Development Committee of the Board of Directors of the company, a position he later used to defraud the company.

The Ekiti State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has reacted to newspapers advertorials by the state governor, Ayodele Fayose, accusing President Muhammadu Buhari of being a dictator by allegedly sending Department of State Services operatives to invade the Akwa Ibom Government House, Uyo.

The party insisted that the operatives had not violated the nation’s law by moving against illegal arms dump, large enough to illegally topple a democratically elected government.

The party, in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun, on Sunday, said the DSS operatives acted in the nation’s interest to check what would have been a threat to national stability and reversal of fortunes for the nation’s economy.

“Let us educate Fayose that a Government House is not the same as foreign embassies or missions that enjoy physical immunity from security activities by local armed forces.

“While a governor enjoys immunity from physical and body security search, the same cannot be said of the Government House because no law in the nation’s constitution says the Government House should be a breeding ground for insurrection and insurgency where state enemies can assemble arms to topple a legitimate government and we suspect Fayose as an accomplice in the arms stockpiling saga in the Akwa Ibom Government House, otherwise there is no reason for him to be edgy and agitated in his response,” Olatunbosun explained.

The party condemned Fayose for trying to whip public sentiment against DSS operatives for performing their legitimate duty to secure the country, adding that no amount of blackmail would stop security agents from performing their legal duties against violent and corrupt governors.
Olatubosun added: “We know why Fayose is blackmailing DSS in this matter. Ekiti Government House is home to thugs and criminal elements armed to the teeth that the governor has been using against the opposition.

“They were used on massive scale during the last elections to attack the opponents. As we speak, they are still lodged in the Government House where they take off at nights to rob and kidnap innocent Ekiti people.

“We never had this kind of experience for four years of Governor Kayode Fayemi until Fayose started his campaign with importation of criminals that have been stalking the state residents.

“We call on DSS to be alert to its responsibilities of maintaining internal cohesion and security integrity across the country and should comb everywhere, including the Aso Rock if need be, to ensure that no man in authority constitutes himself as a security risk to the nation’s unity.”
The statement further warned the people of Ekiti State to be wary of Fayose’s inciting statements meant to set them against the Federal Government

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South-East on Sunday asked Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state to fully accept responsibility for the fate of Ndigbo, especially their inability to secure any appoint so far in the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The party accused Okorocha of neither truly campaigning for President Buhari nor the APC in the build up to the March 28 Presidential/National Assembly elections, insisting that has the governor effectively mobilised the people to support the party, the story would have been totally different.

The party in a statement issued by its spokesman in the South-East, Osita Okechukwu abd made available to newsmen in Enugu therefore dismissed the statement by Imo State governor that Ndigbo were responsible for their exclusion in appointments made by President Buhari.

Okechukwu was reacting to an interview granted to a national daily by Okorocha, published on Sunday.

In the interview, Okorocha said he shared the sentiments of the Igbo that none of them made the list of appointees.

Accoring to the governor in the said interview, "some of the appointments we lost was of the doings of our people,” just as he recalled that when he was crying like a lonely voice in the wilderness "that look at where Nigeria was going, Ndigbo chose to put all their eggs in one basket".

But, in a statement on Sunday, Okechukwu said Okorocha should take responsibility for Igbo exclusion in the appointments, rather than passing the buck to Ndigbo.

The statement was titled, ‘Governor Rochas Okorocha neither truly campaigned for President Buhari nor APC’.

Okechukwu stated: “I am sorry to comment on the blame game being played by His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha; for his interview can be classified as Okorocha Recue Mission from the less than five percent score in the 2015 presidential election from the entire South East.

“All one can say is that to the best of knowledge, he neither truly campaigned for President Muhammadu Buhari nor the All Progressives Congress.

“Methinks that while we blame Ndigbo for putting all our eggs in one basket, we should blame our leaders who genuinely didn't campaign for President Buhari nor APC candidates in their domain.

“I challenge Governor Okorocha to tell the world how far he assisted Senator Osita Izunaso for his bid for Orlu senatorial district, his own constituency and that of Hons Uche Onyeguocha and Uwajimogu of Owerri and Okigwe districts respectively” Okechukwu stated.

Crime › Fraudsters Impersonating Me, Says Oyedepo by emamos(op): 3:23pm On Sep 13, 2015
Bishop David Oyedepo
Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church, popularly known as Winners Chapel, has lamented that himself and his church are being impersonated on social media.
Our correspondent counted over 300 Facebook accounts of Bishop David Oyedepo alone and several others of his church with different photographs portraying him as the owner of the account.
Some of the accounts also carried photographs of him and his wife as well as some prayers and messages.
These alleged fraudsters, the church said, have cloned the church’s account on various social media platforms to obtain funds from unsuspecting victims.
As read by one of the pastors in the church in its fourth service, the church said that the Bishop or the church does not solicit for funds through social media..
It therefore warned the church members, Nigerians and followers of the church to avoid being defrauded saying the official Facebook page of the church is ‘David Oyedepo Ministries international Inc’.
Many Nigerians and institutions have had cause to cry out over the activities of fraudsters who clone their accounts to defraud people.
Some of these include former President Olusegun Obasanjo, former Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos, Prophet T.B. Joshua of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Custom Service.

Nairaland General › Nigeria Has 180 Million Birds, Needs No Poultry Imports – Official by emamos(op): 11:52am On Sep 13, 2015
Nigeria has 180 million birds which can meet its poultry needs, and has no need for imported poultry or poultry products, the National Veterinary Research Institute , NVRI, Vom, said.
The NVRI Executive Director, Ahmed Mohammed , made the disclosure in Vom, Plateau State, on Sunday, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria.
Mr. Mohammed said that 120 million of the birds were rural poultry in backyards, while 50 million birds were commercial poultry in formal poultry outfits.
“The commercial poultry are layers and broilers, while the backyard birds are usually for domestic consumption and small scale sales,” he explained.
He said that Nigeria did not need imported poultry because more Nigerians were investing in the industry, which had made the country self-sufficient in that sector.
“Aside the poultry, we have lots of livestock to complement our meat and protein needs.
“From our latest records, Nigeria has 22 million cattle, 40 million sheep, and 50 million goats.
“So, the ban on the importation of poultry and poultry products is in order and should be strictly enforced to encourage local production,” he said.
The NVRI boss challenged poultry producers to see the ban as an opportunity to promote self-sufficiency, more local wealth and employment.
“They can improve on their capacities by accessing the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) agricultural loans being shared to farmers by all commercial banks.
“The loans are very easy to access and the process is much easier for poultry farmers because the returns on poultry are faster,” he said.
He urged state and federal governments to encourage home-grown poultry by helping farmers to access vaccines for NDVI 2 disease.
“It (NDVI 2), is the main disease that kills rural poultry and it is preventable.
“The vaccine’s major advantage is that it does not need to be preserved in a refrigerator; it is durable and can survive any situation or weather,” he said.
He said that the diseases that kill commercial poultry were also preventable and advised farmers to get the vaccines and make sure they were well administered.http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/more-news/189947-nigeria-has-180-million-birds-needs-no-poultry-imports-official.html

Politics › How Nigerian Army Chief Spent Night In Former Boko Haram Enclave by emamos(op): 11:05am On Sep 13, 2015
The border town of Gamboru, a town in North-Eastern Nigeria, has witnessed several attacks by Boko Haram insurgents. Apart from attacking the village and sending residents fleeing to nearby communities including Fotokol in Cameroon, Boko Haram also occupied Gamboru and for about a year lorded over the area.
However on Wednesday, one week after Nigerian soldiers recaptured the town after fierce battles with the insurgents, the Nigerian Army chief, Tukur Buratai, vowed the town would never fall to insurgents again. In an unprecedented move, the army chief not only visited Gamboru to fraternise with soldiers, he slept in the quiet town.
In a display of strength, Mr. Buratai, a Lieutenant General, also ordered the hoisting of Nigeria’s flag that was a taboo during the Boko Haram conquest.
For anyone that saw what the terrorists made of the once bubbling and economically vibrant Gamboru, having a army chief pass a night there would be one of the craziest things a top soldier would consider doing.
The Trip
The trip from Maiduguri to Gamboru is just 145km. But it took about 12 hours to get there, as the Explosive Ordnance Department of the Nigerian Army had to sniff every inch of the route for land mines. Many land mines buried by Boko Haram were unearthed and defused by the bomb experts. But one went off, injured some soldiers and destroyed one of the Armoured Personnel Carriers.
The Chief of Army Staff alongside other top army rednecks arrived Gamboru at about 5 p.m. on Wednesday. PREMIUM TIMES and other journalists were also part of the trip.
Mr. Buratai’s first task after addressing cheering soldiers was to hoist Nigeria’s flag in the liberated territory. Boko Haram had forced the residents of Gamboru to flee their homes for many months now. Most of them are still taking refuge in Fotokol, about 500 meters away. Nigeria and Cameroon are separated in that area by a river, which has a concrete bridge across it.
PREMIUM TIMES observed that when the Chief of Army Staff and his troops arrived near the bridge to hoist the Nigerian Flag, the quiet area almost turned chaotic as over 3000 Nigerians taking refuge in Fotokol went wild in excitement, hailing the soldiers from the bank of the river on the Cameroonian side. The mood caused tears from some observers especially as the poor villagers, who had spent months looking at their devastated hometown from across the river, continued to chant ‘Sai Baba Buhari, Sai soldier (meaning ‘all hail President Buhari, all hail Nigeria soldiers).
A night with Nigeria’s Chief of Army in Gamboru
After a brief ceremony and statement from the army chief , everyone at the venue sang the Nigerian National Anthem in high pitch, as a soldier who was the last bearer of the flag after it went through the hierarchy of command from the army chief, hoisted the Green-White-Green flag. The villagers, chanting from across the river bank, provided a rhythmic melody to the national anthem. Even the generals shed tears as, once again, Nigeria’s territorial control and integrity was restored in the Gamboru area.
General Buratai’s words echoed from the loudspeaker over the desolated town of Gamboru and into Fotokol as he delivered a brief speech at the flag hoisting ceremony.
“We are here today to observe this significant and symbolic ceremony of hoisting the Nigerian national flag,” he said.”If you could remember, this town of Gamboru was occupied by the Boko Haram terrorists for almost one year ago. The Chadian troops came to help recapture it but could not hold the town, so they later withdrew and the Boko Haram returned again.
“In line with my vision which is to have a professionally responsive Nigerian Army that is abreast of its constitutional roles, and one key underlying phrase in my mission is the constitutional role, today, under my command, we are here to discharge and redeem our territorial integrity as enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“Today we are hoisting our flag and we will never allow any bunch of criminals in the name of Boko Haram to come and take an inch of our territory again.”
Mr. Buratai thanked soldiers who partook in the operations to recapture the town.
“I will like to commend officers and soldiers of the Operation Lafiya Dole, especially the officers and men of 7 Division and indeed the 7 Division Strike Group, who have proved to be resilient, dedicated and highly patriotic. Nigerians are proud of you, Nigerian Army is proud of you and indeed Mr. President is very proud of you.
“We have to maintain the momentum and from now on you must maintain an aggressive posture to constant patrols along this routes and all other routes into this area.”
More Work Needed
The Army Chief lamented the ability of the insurgents to still lay mines in territory in control of soldiers.
“The incident of mines being laid along the routes must be stopped! Troops are not here to come and sleep at night while Boko Haram bury mines on our roads.
“We still have a lot to do. The war is not over. The terrorists have changed their tactics from moving out from their camps to attack communities to now moving in pockets, planting IEDs via humans or vehicles.
“On our way to this place, we saw how some IEDs were uprooted from the road by our troops and unfortunately one of the mines got detonated and affected our vehicles, from which some soldiers got wounded.
A night with Nigeria’s Chief of Army in Gamboru
“We once again, thank Mr. President for reposing his confidence in us to help deliver his mandate. We are making progress and definitely we would achieve that mandate within the time given by Mr President. On this note I have the singular honour and pleasure to present the Nigerian Flag to the Commander Operation Lafiya Dole for hoisting and never to come down again.
Shortly after the flag had been hoisted, Mr. Buratai moved across the bridge to address the Nigerian refugees down the bank of the river in Cameroon and spoke to them in the local language of the area – Kanuri.
The atmosphere went electric, as the people applauded every assuring word of Kanuri being uttered by the number one soldier.
Soldiers danced and exchanged pleasantries with their counterpart from Cameroon.
At night, the senior officers simply took their seats in one of the destroyed fuel filling stations thatmomentarily became the makeshift Army Headquarters and continued to interact with the gallant officers and men in the field.
At about 7:30 p.m., the army chief had a private chat with non-commissioned officers and soldiers for about two hours during which he personally took down the complaints and suggestions each soldier made.
The dark night was even more petrifying as some of the soldiers informed PREMIUM TIMES reporter that “there is 50/50 chance that we may be attacked by the Boko Haram because that is what they do every day. But we are ready for them; and that is if they will be bold enough to come here after how we dealt with them days back.”
Meals were cooked and two rams were slaughtered and barbecued for soldiers and journalists. Then the army chief led other officers and soldiers to ignite a burn-fire that lit the bushy surroundings. Soldiers danced wildly as they sang at the top of their voices – chanting different lyrics that ridiculed the Boko Haram.
“They (Boko Haram) are hearing us even now that we are here singing”, said an excited Corporal.
The excitement was paused midway for the decoration of a gallant Major, Muhammed Abu Ali, to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Mr. Abu Ali, an officer in the Nigeria Armoured Corps, actively took part in leading most of the recent operations in the most dangerous Boko Haram camps. His colleagues described him as the panacea to Boko Haram when he drives his War Tank (T72). The Army spokesperson, Colonel Sani Usman, described him as “hero of our time”.
After the burn-fire, the celebration went on until a heavy rainfall began. There was no shelter for both officers and soldiers except the building of the filling station. Soldiers on sentry stood their grounds to ensure no Boko Haram crept nearby, while others took shelter in their vehicles.
Mr. Buratai and other officers like the Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Yushau, the GOC 7 Division, Lamidi Adeosun; the Commander, Multi- National Joint Task Force, Major General Iliya Abba; a Cameroonian Colonel, Fonkon Djio Venerd Richard; and Chadian Lieutenant Colonel D’ Aviation, Mohammet Yahaya, continued to chat with journalists and some of the soldiers.
Sleep was an option many would rather not take. Some that tried sleeping only did so for about three hours before the officers asked everyone to board their vehicles at about 5:30 a.m. on Thursday for a return to Maiduguri, shortly after the morning prayers.
The Return
The 145km return journey that started at 6 a.m. from Gamboru ended 13 hours later. The convoy had to move at snail speed, about 12km per hour, as soldiers of the bomb detection unit, sniffed the route on foot ahead of the convoy.
At the destroyed Gamboru bridge bombed by Boko Haram in 2013, the convoy spent two hours manoeuvring the bridge.
There was apprehension during the remaining part of the journey after the bridge – through Dikwa, Logomani and Mafa – as soldiers had to charge their way through likely flash points for ambush.
Everyone arrived Maiduguri safely, except for the soldiers that suffered the blast from one of the land mines.

Politics › We’re Returning PDP To Younger Generation – Dokpesi by emamos(op): 3:22pm On Sep 12, 2015
The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party e-Membership Registration Committee, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, has said the party is undergoing an all inclusive process of rebranding itself in order to conform with global best practice of political participation.
The chairman spoke during the official inauguration of the party’s electronic registration in Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State on Friday.
At Ward 1, in Agenebode, about 350 existing and prospective members of the party party, who had reportedly turned out as early as 8am for the exercise, were seen filling forms and waiting to be registered.
One of them, Mrs. Imhokha Janet, described the exercise as a welcome development.
“I am happy with the registration. I paid N1,000 at Skye Bank and I have filled my form already, waiting to be registered,” she said.
The firm handling the project, E-connect Technologies Limited, ‎explained that each registration would take five minutes, while the exercise would last for three days in each of the 18 local government areas of the state.
It also said the exercise would run continuously in all the party’s secretariats across the state.
‎But the Director of Operations of the firm, Mr. Emmanuel Ndubuisi, noted that although the project was designed to do instant issuance of identity cards, the relevant materials would be available on Monday.
However, Dokpesi, while speaking on the essence of the exercise, explained that, while not drifting from the ideals of the founding fathers, part of the objectives of the project was to return the party to its members, many of whom belonged to the younger generation and were atune with modern ways of doing things.
‎He said, “This is the age of the social media, not even the traditional media. The people that are going to be voters, they don’t go and watch television; they don’t listen to the radio. They are just busy on their social media and it is what somebody posts, true or false, that is what he knows.http://www.punchng.com/news/were-returning-pdp-to-younger-generation-dokpesi/

Politics › Buhari Brings New Hope For Nigeria – Shettima by emamos(op): 7:10pm On Sep 11, 2015
Borno State governor, Kashim Shettima, has described the sequence of events that followed the inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari on May 29 as a silver lining in the dark clouds that have hovered on the northern region for too long.
According to Governor Shettima, the problems of insurgency, poverty and bad governance among others have turned the region into a laughing stock in recent years despite the good legacies handed over to the present generation of leaders by past leaders, especially the late Sardauna of Sokoto, Sir Ahmadu Bello.
The governor spoke in his capacity as the chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum at the opening ceremony of the maiden meeting of the Governors at State House, Kawo, in Kaduna, on Friday.
He lamented the predicament of the region, saying things have become so bad that the region has “become a thriving nest for war, terrorism, deep seated social divisions, senseless violence, mind-boggling intolerance, injustice, destitution, joblessness, and all manners of other social vices, the height of which is the madness called Boko Haram.”
“Things have become so bad, so much so that we can say without fear of contradiction that in Nigeria today poverty glaringly wears a bold Northern face. We have turned our region into a laughing stock, derided by friends and foes alike, and, not without justification, as having dragged the rest of the country down with us.”
Governor Shettima told his colleagues that it was time to change and embrace “the cusp of a new era, the promise of a transition from seemingly interminable years of hardship, poverty and turmoil – the proverbial Locust Years – to a period of hope, prosperity and calm” as personified by the present national leadership.”
He added:”For the first time since the early 1980s, the political leadership of the Northern states is poised to reverse the negative trends that had so readily sown the destructive seed of mutual suspicion, distrust and animosity among the teeming people that occupy the vast lands of our states. I can see the signs of sincere effort and genuine optimism to draw strength in our diversity and change the narrative of our troubled history in the interest of our region’s history, and indeed, the rest of Nigeriahttp://thenationonlineng.net/buhari-brings-new-hope-for-nigeria-shettima/

Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamanga Tukur
*. Says PDP paid dearly for his exit
Onyebuchi Ezigbo in Abuja
Elder statesman and former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, on Thursday advised President Muhammadu Buhari not to succumb to the antics of lobbyists but to give ministerial appointments to those who merit them and would be ready to deliver on the job.
Tukur, while reflecting on the bitter loss suffered by his party in the last presidential polls, said his forceful exist from the party and subsequent jettisoning of the ideals of internal democracy had cost the former ruling party victory in the last presidential election.
Speaking with journalists at his residence as part of the programme to mark his 80th birthday in Abuja, the politician and business tycoon said the activities and actions of President Buhari in the last 100 days had shown that he had kept faith with what he promised Nigerians.
On the controversies over Buhari’s delay in making ministerial appointments, he advised that the president should not look the way of those scrambling to secure jobs as ministers but should rather focus on those who possess the wherewithal to deliver on the job.
“Don’t give jobs to those who want the job but give it to those whom the job wants., he said”
Also in passing his assessment on Buhari’s 100 days, Tukur said: “It is not for me to assess. A hundred days became a kind of syndrome. What Buhari has said is that he wants to confront corruption, he want to confront insecurity and he wants to confront unemployment and empower, by these he has set the agenda and it is going on.”
On the humiliating defeat meted out to the PDP in the last presidential poll, Tukur said it was all about the nature of democracy, where there must be parties in opposition and another one in government, adding that it was the people that decided who they wanted to vote for.
The former party chairman who blamed his party for failing to convince Nigerians on what it had in stock for them, said it was left for the PDP and its leaders to find out why they were removed from power.
He said he was very much convinced that the fate of the PDP would have been different if he had been allowed to manage its affairs during the 2015 general election.
“Well, when I was there, I won elections and in the same vein, if I were there also, I expect to win the election,” he said.
Going down memory lane, Tukur said his major sin why he was ousted from office was because of his believe in election and insistence on internal democracy.
He also said some influential members of the PDP did not feel at home with his programmes meant to reposition the party.
“Well, I thought we were in a system of democracy and my views are such that what I believe in is what I will preach. I want election and people say they want selection. If the majority, the strong people in the PDP did not believe in it then the choice or the next thing for me to do was to leave.
“It is either I leave or they leave but I did not want them to leave so I decided to leave. At that time, people said I am preaching internal democracy instead of imposition. I had drawn up cardinal programmes and I captioned them my agenda, if you will remember - the triple R. I think that any good leader will do tell people what you want to do and if they agree with you without any protest then it is carry- go. As for zoning, nobody is faulting zoning, what we are saying is let the people decide on what they want. This is the democracy we are talking about, the rule by the majority.

In a bid to maintain relevance in politics after his defeat during the presidential elections, Goodluck Jonathan has mounted pressure on Reuben Okoya, an aspirant ‎in the forthcoming Bayelsa State gubernatorial election slated for December 5th, to withdraw his name from the contest.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan
SaharaReporters has learned that Goodluck‎ Jonathan is taking action to help deliver the election for Governor Seriake Dickson and that pushing Mr. Okoya out is part of his plan.
Reacting to this possibility Dr. Ekiyor Wilson, who was among the group in search for credible candidates before settling for Reuben Okoya, says it would be a shame if Mr. Okoya dropped out after all the effort he and others made to find a suitable candidate. He added, “the people of Bayelsa State would be betrayed.”
It was learned that Goodluck Jonathan has also made several calls to Timi Alaibe, former Managing Director of NDDC, who recently defected to the APC, to pressure him to drop his governorship ambition and close rank with Governor Seriake Dickson on the notion that the Ijaw could be politically dominated as a result of his run.

A former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, has said President Muhammadu Buhari is on the right track.

Addressing journalists as part of programme to mark his 80th birthday, Tukur, who spoke on the 100 days of Buhari in office, said the President has delivered on his promises of confronting corruption, power, unemployment and insecurity.

He said, “When Buhari came, he said he wanted to confront corruption, insecurity, unemployment and power; he‎ set an agenda, the nation is working and is going on. To me, they are going ‎the right way, they are not deviating from what they said they will do.”

When asked if he will join All Progressives Congress like other PDP members, Tukur said he cannot change his character at 80 saying, “at 80 what do you want somebody to do. You want to change somebody’s character at 80? Is it possible? At 80 you remain who you are because you cannot bend anymore. If you do it by force, you will break.”

Politics › Plot To Remove Saraki An Exercise In Futility, Says APC Chieftain by emamos(op): 5:05pm On Sep 10, 2015
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Sokoto state, Alhaji Abdullahi Sarkin-Gobir Adiya, Thursday urged the members of the Senate Unity Forum to sheathe their sword, saying the plot to remove Senate President Bukola Saraki, was an exercise in futility.
Speaking in an interview with THISDAY in Sokoto on Thursday, Adiya said nobody can remove Saraki except God, adding that he was duly elected by his colleagues and not imposed on them.
He underscored the need for Senators loyal to Senator Ahmad Lawan to tow the path of dialogue and reconciliation to enable peace reign in the Senate.
Adiya maintained that Saraki's emergence as the Senate President was destined by God and as such those fighting him would end up in vain.
