My dear, I empathise with u. Someppl are so clueless and senseless that they are locked up in dia own selfish world. Pls don't tell her outright to stop visiting oh, unless u want her to be ur enemy cos ppl like dat can paint ur name black and rewrite ur history behind ur back. Besides you'd never know wen u might need her. I'd advice u to drop hints on her. Don't pay much attention to her wen she is talking so she won't feel like you're interested in her long story. Be a little bit impatient wit her n act as if u are very busy n she's in ur way. Also, start lying about ur whereabouts and hint to her dat u'll be going out at so so time.. Goodluck 4 Likes |
Health / Re: Nma Strike, The Nurses' Perspective. by emeka94(m): 6:44am On Jul 12, 2014 |
I duff my hat for the author of this article. Neatly and professionally written. Reminds of wole soyinka's articles. I've always seen nurses as being crude, unintelligent and not well educated that they're only good in injection and insulting people, this article have changed my view. Not my fault its just what I've seen in my area. #stereotypeisbad. At topic, I agree completely with the article. Doctors have no reason to sit behind desk signing papers and issuing directives after all the money and years they claim to have spent in school. Use this knowledge to save life not destroy it. what happened to human conscience? Dem no dey feel patients pain? Hmmm they should be careful else they loose the sympathy of the populace oh. As someone said above,Other healthcare professionals should use this opportunity to prove to the world that they are good and have d skill. 5 Likes |

Nairaland / General / How To Be Happy In Life by emeka94(m): 2:57pm On Jul 07, 2014 |
ere's how: 1. Stop comparing yourself to other people. I work in psychiatry and can tell you first-hand that so many seemingly happy and successful people are burning themselves alive on the fire of their inner turmoil. Focus on you. 2. Socialize. Even if you are an introvert, force yourself into social scenarios that give you the opportunity to meet people and form connections. These connections will put you back in touch with your humanity. 3. Make healthy decisions. It is amazing how much exercise and good diet can change your outlook on the world around you. The negative thoughts in your head that seem so very real and pressing will melt away. 4. Do something different. Stop wasting your time trying to find the "perfect hobby." Pick anything - whether it's fiber art or coffee tasting. Find something that you can put effort into, build competence, and see results. 5. Get in touch with your anchors. We tend to lose these anchors as we get older. Try to better position yourself within any communities you once found a home in, whether that's your family, your neighborhood, your culture, or your religion. 6. Look less ahead. Look less behind. Try to refocus yourself to the current moment more often. Start building memories instead of living in them. Start creating your future instead of just hoping for a better one. If you don't do this, your life will become a fog that can stretch across your entire time on earth. 7. Create. Write in a journal. Paint something. Make up a song even if you will never perform it. Start to fashion the relics that you will leave behind when you are gone. 8. Let go. Forgive those who hurt you. I'm sorry you were hurt. But if you do not leave that hurt in the past, it will follow you like a wolf - forever casting a dangerous shadow over everything you do. 9. Worry more about the others. Many times it is our own narcissism that destroys us. It seems counter- intuitive, but take some time each day to think about the needs of the other people in your life. Helping them meet those needs will make you happier in a way that you might not understand right now. 0. Stop running. There is no such place as "away." Travel as far as you want, but you will still find yourself waiting for you when you get there. Pull out your sword. It's time to turn around and fight the dragons inside you. You are mightier than them. |
Politics / Re: The Proposed 18 New States And Their Capital by emeka94(m): 1:53pm On Jul 06, 2014 |
Most stupid resolution the confab has made second only to the incredulous idea of rotation of presidency. Are these people blind or just plain selfish and greedy. Resources is scarce and corruption is thriving more than oil yet you still want to create more states. USA that's as large as what I don't know has only 50 states. By the way Nigerian govt claim to be copying America's style of federal governance. Creation of addition states will only make the center stronger, the states lazier, fragmentation of Nigeria and break up of ethnic groups and families. Of what is the reason behind dis creation of states?!! I can only see selfish reasons and selfish reason and selfish reasons. If 36 isn't working how will 54 work? Give LGAs autonomy, reduce the powers of federal and state govt and create city councils not states. please!!!. City councils will ensure the participation of ordinary men in governance, men that I can see and touch not governors that drive up and down in latest SUVs causing accidents and traffic jam. Tufiakwa. God save Nigeria from this old men and women. 204 Likes |
Romance / Re: Gay Or Just Really Scared To Fall In Love? by emeka94(m): 7:07pm On Jul 05, 2014 |
@Op ur problem begins with the gay label you placed on yourself. Your subconscious will soon long to follow the part of your thoughts and utterance. From your posts here, it seems like you identify more as a gay dan heterosexual, that's probably where your problem begins. Give yourself a space to breath. Experience new things and new ways. Homosexuality is not an illness or a condition but u cannot wholesomely label yourself without having a sort of physical contact with a female(to put it plainly have sex with a girl). We human being generally long for love and affection and u are not an exception. it will be dishonest of me if I don't admit of being in the same position. In my own condition, I've come to note that am afraid of disappointing the person who openly declares love for me either by actions or words. Am plainly afraid of falling short of standard and not being all the person ever wanted, so I generally avoid people I like and care about most. The cause behind ur own situation maybe quite different from mine or every other person. It could be a deep sitted psychological condition that you maybe unaware of. Maybe a traumatic childhood experience or something else. The human brain is like a child that often recoil when it comes to a situation that have caused pain and hurt to it before. Or maybe your subconscious is enthralled by the idea of a same sex relationship but your brain, aware of the social and legal implication is afraid to commit. Thus leaving you on a fence - I want and I don't want situation. Hope I've not offended you by some of my assumptions am just trying to help out. You alone is the master of your problem nobody else least of all NL and the internet. U just need a listening eye. We tend to figure out our problem once we talk to somebody. 2 Likes |

Politics / Rescuers Free Naked Man From Washing Machine by emeka94(m): 7:40am On Jan 06, 2014 |
A game of hide and seek spun out of control when a naked Victorian man became trapped in his washing machine. It took 20 minutes to free the man, with rescuers using olive oil to remove him from the machine at his home at Mooropna, north of Melbourne. Sergeant Tim Gleeson said the man had climbed naked into his top-loader while waiting for his partner to come home on Saturday afternoon. "He was trying to surprise his missus and became stuck," Sgt Gleeson told News Corp Australia. Police officers resorted to olive oil to free the man during a delicate operation. "They greased him up until he was free," Sgt Gleeson said. Other emergency services including firefighters, paramedics, SES and Shepparton Search and Rescue Squad, were also involved in the rescue.[url]A game of hide and seek spun out of control when a naked Victorian man became trapped in his washing machine. ndu_chucks: Misguided war? Igbos were being slaughtered like chicken in the north and west, yet you have the temerity to call the war misguided. So we should have stayed put like statues were we get butchered. We came out of our shell very early with intention to embrace the concept of one Nigeria, but we were pushed back and tagged "over ambitious". all the problems igbo ppl have are by products of the war. Our sense of rationalization have been so dulled that paranoia is almost a part of our life. Read books by renowned igbo elites and see how they feel about the way Nigeria treated them. Read with an open mind free of tribal jingoism, and you will understand that we were left with no other option. Nobody stays in a house that he is not welcomed or wanted. PS: I believe the war would have been avoided if the government had done the right thing and I also believe in the unity of Nigeria but please don't call the civil war a misguided one. |

Nigerians are funny. Tearing our pant over issues that shouldn't even be issue. igbo and yoruba are they not in the same south? Or is there another south that we don't know of? The OP posted about marginalization of southern Nigeria not marginalisation of igbos or yoruba. You people are busy killing yourselves here over bullshits that for the life of me I can't even understand or point out. Address the op's post not some petty tribal bullshit that's slowly becoming redundant and over rated. Us southerns have we asked ourselves why north always run to us when they need something? How they gauge the political atmosphere and decide which region to latch onto Now they are romancing with SW but during OBJ days it was SE. Soon when the SW bleeps up they will run to SS or SE. Why can't we just stand together and face our demon collectively? Have u seen any post on this thread by a northerner? Of course not. They know when to keep their cool. Divide and conquer strategy. Infact we southerners are collectively foolish. 1 Like |

Literature / Death Was Celebrated- The Abagana Ambush(a Poem) by emeka94(m): 10:30am On Jan 01, 2014 |
This work is not meant to be political, its simply a work of literature. "One, two, three to ninety-six vehicle Were deployed to smash the biafrans. Five hundred armed soldiers accompanied " He wrote Down the lonely path like a line of ants After a sugar cube, They traveled Their faces lined with danger And breath smelled of death Ka boom, ka boom, ka boom Their bombs would go when they see the enemy Tai, tai, tai Their guns would ring out as they marched inward to deliver death's package Slowly but firmly they progressed Into the hinterlands Into the heart of the new born African child To deliver death to her infant bed To snuff life out of her tender lungs Ka boom, ka boom, ka boom They heard One, two, three to twenty Had fallen. Tai, tai, tai Twenty-one, twenty- two to forty Is gone They stared around in fear, Their death's mission forgotten. An ambush had they walked into "Retreat, retreat, retreat" their major shouted But death has marked them as his. They froze there, Unwrapping the package meant for another. The children of the young African child Had risen to defend their mother against her stronger and older sibling now turned enemy, With their crude home made weapons they fired with zeal. Soon none remained of the ninety-six nor the five hundred Their bodies lining the tropical roads of Abagana, Made in britain weapon laying down dead next to them. "Minimal loss of life on our side" he wrote again Savoring the taste of a rare victory. The death of five hundred celebrated As if life had no meaning As if their existence was surreal and a burden to the earth Inspired by Achebe's There was a country page 173 1 Like |

Mouau is one of the best schools east of the niger. They expel like mad although the new VC is trying to curb the rate of expulsion. Generally people who are studing any B.agric course are the people that feel the wrath of the school, considering the fact that its an agric university. The schools reading culture is high especially among vet.med and biochemistry students. With last years admission, the schools population have increased like wild fire. Infrastructure and amenities are springing every where, thanks to the new VC. Generally unimyke aka umudyke is a wonderful school except for the annoying fact that their lecturers prefer cramming textbook over understanding. I forgot to add that if you don't read you'll stay in the school till thy kingdom come. Sorting is difficult unless u get connection. Ogee wat department are you in? |
