Science/Technology / Five Simple Ways To Care For Your Flash Drive. by emeka94(m): 4:55pm On Aug 16, 2015
I recently imported some 8gb bracelet USB flash drives which I had customized with my school logo and name. My intention was to sell them off in school and make profit. I succeeded in selling them off but I encountered some problem with three clients who returned theirs, after some days, with complaints that the flash wasn’t working properly or didn’t work at all. I was seriously irked, but I replaced the flash for them. Two of them returned again with same complaint, I decided to take a look at their laptops. Without much argument their system had a nice population of viruses.

In this modern day and age, information is the most important commodity anyone can possess. Daily large amounts of information is hauled or transferred from one electronic device to another using different means, chief amongst them is the flash drive. To avoid information loss –which is quiet annoying and painful- and avoid unnecessary profit loss by the seller, and the buyer too, I decided to compile this list to help educate people on how to care for their precious flash drives.

1) Cover the connector;
The connector, the metal area usually inserted into the USB port of a computer, should be properly covered when not in use to prevent the accumulation and trapping of dirt and dust.

2) Inserting of flash
Allow system to completely boot before inserting the flash drive, this is to prevent shock that is potentially dangerous to the flash if it is inserted while system is still booting.
When inserting the flash drive do not force the flash drive in. Ensure, also, that the port and connector are at even angles (properly aligned).

3) Removal of flash
Always, I repeat, always eject or use the “safe to remove” icon if you want to eject the flash drive. Forcefully removing the flash drive without using the safe removal procedure might result in data loss and damage (corruption) of the flash drive. Do not remove flash drive while a file is still being transferred.
Do not pull the flash drive out forcefully, carefully remove the flash after each operation to avoid damage to the computer port and connector.

4) Do not place heavy weight on flash drive
Remember that the flash drive is a lightweight material that have little or no weight at all. Placing much weight on it is a terrible idea and should be avoided to prevent damage to the flash drive.

5) Always scan your flash drive
I saved the most juiciest and annoying for last. Virus is like the computer version of the devil. It is a quadruple headed hydra that if not confronted head long will cause serious heartache.
Viruses hides your data, corrupts it and make it unfit for use. Use an anti-virus that automatically scans your flash drive once it is inserted. I recommend smadav antivirus and USB fix for anyone, especially smadav.

Read the membership plan section. It is under your pic. Click on your pic and click on membership. Every membership plan has its own number of bids per month. Choose the one that is appropriate for your pocket. Don't worry, you will soon get used to the platform. All the best!

your refutation well observed. As you can see that's my opinion in reference and to my understanding on a given theory. What's your recommendation?

Am of the opinion that the guy should determine whether the girl is bisexual or a 100 percent lesbian. He shouldn't rush into marriage or relationship with someone that won't commit to him.
Its all about him and only him. He alone can determine or say what he wants.

That's not a past, it's her biological make up. She might still love you oooo and can also rescind. There's what we call "SITUATIONAL CRIME" or rather oppourtunity in criminology, it simply means that, when she's exposed to her lesbians folks, there's a 90% chance that she will go back to the old life. In essence, what i'm suggestion is that she should be rehabilitated(isolated from them) and re-integrated into a her normal sexual life.

What you said now is pure hogwash and contradictory, no offense please.
it can't be in her biological makeup and she can be able to stop it. what is part of you is part of you, you can't change it. There is nothing like rehabilitation and reintegration in human sexuality as it is not the same thing as crime and sociology of its punishment. Altho I agree with you on the grounds of opportunity, but I completely disagree with your claims of rehabilitation, integration of lesbians (homosexuals in general).

No jazz, no magic.

The human mind is like clay.
It is very very malleable.
This goes to prove, and I have argued before, that there is no freewill.
The mind is always always fully or partially encumbered by the very nature of it's evolution.

We are hardly independent personalities viewing and judging reality from a distance. No.
Rather, are network of neural interactions, mirroring , expressing and trying to validate individual selves through our environments.

My point in all this is that the mind is porous and akways open to hacking and subtle manipulation, especially when you have the perfect combination of fear, superstition, ignorance and hopeless poverty.
Believe it or not, about 90%or more of people want to be controlled or led.
They want another person, a stronger mind, to define reality to them and break it down in small chewable bits, with plenty of sugar.
.
This is why Africa and other poverty laden societies provide the perfect inexhaustible resources for religious fraudsters and hustlers.

The human mind is not just malleable, it is scared and afraid and in need of continuous guidance. This explains the universality of religion and its use as a control tool.
It is comforting to know that someone, like big brother, is always there to protect, guide and help us in times of need. Hence, why people always turn to God when they are in need, lonely and/or afraid -relegate him in times of happiness and success. Unconsciously, we want to be dominated, controlled, protected, loved, directed, pampered etc.
To me, prayer is like hope. It relieves us because we, believe that we, have placed our burden on a stronger shoulder that can carry and solve our problems. This makes one happier and comforted. And in such moods, we tend to achieve more and be highly productive. Voila!!! Its a miracle.

Prayer is a placebo effect.

You are very right. Recently I have been seeing then for who they really are. I just don't understand why their hatred , and anger boils in them at no cause. If I wasn't atheist I would have said they are cursed people

You are over generalizing.

When did you make your discovery, before or after the election?
This is democracy and every dick and harry has an opinion especially when it involves the ballot paper. Respect their opinion and move on. You as an atheist should understand the need to have your opinion respected and understood, regardless of how unconforming it is to societal values.

Ohaneze ndi igbo, as one pointed out, is a bunch of red cap wearing buffoons and thieves. They don't represent the yearning of an average igbo man and truth be told, an igbo man in the streets of Aba or Owerri doesn't know anything about them nor does he care about their activity.

Because you voted for the winning team doesn't make you any wiser than others who lost. Learn to be magnanimous in victory and ignore certain things (Some igbos voted for GMB).

Don't generalize please. Its just like a foreigner calling all nigerians thieves and scammers or calling all muslims terrorist.
Frankly I didn't expect such comment from you, of all persons.

from your write up I thought I was reading the part 2 of things fall apart!..........ok! just kidding! I can't count the no if times I''ve read this book! I never get tired of it! for me one word to describe Chinua Achebe's Things fall apart" exquisite!

I think the most common theme in Achebe's works is class struggle and freedom of the African man. While I think things fall apart is focused on cultural struggle, the man of the people focuses on intellectual bankruptcy and difference between the elite and the poor.
Hope to hear your opinion on the book when you are through.
Literature / What Is Your Opinion Of The Book 'the Man Of The People' By Chinua Achebe by emeka94(m): 12:11am On May 10, 2015
To my eternal shame, I must admit that I haven't read this book before now nor did I know of its existence. However, I must confess that I was mesmerised by this book and thoroughly enjoyed it as I read through it.

Achebe displayed his mastery of the art of story telling in this book as he successfully combined humour, wittism, philosophy and morality in the 167 page book. What struck me most is the ease with which one can relate to the book, which was written about 3 decades ago, as if what was the bane of the people then is still here and have not moved. The picture of the antagonist, Chief Nanga (although I think all in government are the antagonist), is the picture one imagines of how a corrupt African politician will be.

As I read through the book, I could see through the eyes of the main character, Odili, as he narrates, albeit humorously and overly too confidently, the plot of the story. I was jolted by his action that were often too daring, tactless but courageous nonetheless.

To me, however, this book represents and speaks volumes of the identity of an African man- which can be summarized in one word, Lost-, his lack of awareness of his identity, a struggle between our local tradition and the imported culture of the white. As epitomised in his first novel, things fall apart, Achebe shows a distaste for the loss of identity of the African man and his heritage and also the lack of cohesion between the people and the imported system of governance.

Most importantly I was struck by Achebe's masterful understanding of the "crowd mentality". His artistic and philosophical depiction of the hopelessness of the African man in accepting, seeing and worshipping of the corrupt and the corrupt system (or as he puts it in the last paragraph "you chop, me self I chop; no palaver"wink is enough food for thought for a whole day.
Ones get the feeling that the writer is not just discontent with the greed and high handedness of government but also angry at the people for their meekness and tolerance that has futher embolden the criminal in government to steal more. Thus the blame of bad government lays not at the feet of the political elite but at the feet of the people -as is obtainable in present day Nigeria.
At the risk of sounding too modern and disrespectful of my African heritage, I must confess that I find this book 'The man of the people' to be a far entertaining with deeper sociological and political implications than its predecessor, 'Things fall apart'.
What is your opinion?
Do you think things fall apart is Achebe's best work?
