Politics / Re: Finally Absolute Proof Buhari Is A Bigot by Emekamex(m): 6:34am On Jan 14, 2017
So second niger bridge was built and commissioned in one week, Ogoni was cleaned up and yet the elders there are still complaining and the president now has the authority to sack CBN governor without senate approval. Wow! Buhari must truly be a magician and should perform such tricks on our ailing currency.

I just dont get why security personnels allow this to happen. Fulani herdsmen most of the times walk on foot, so arresting these terrorists should not be so hard as it is currently portrayed.

Is it APC or MIYETTI that fayose answers to?
He answers to his people and the Federal Government that allocates resources to him.
In Nigeria if tou wana take everyones opinion into consideration, you will use 4 years to settle dispute.

That is why I mentioned that people from other regions should not get angry when laws that are against their interests are passed in other places as they are doing to others presently.

Who condemned him
The media was justbthe one talking thrash
did the FG say a thing. If me i were fayose, i would even chase them outta Ekiti state. Every governor has the right to protect his citizens, i see no crime in that.
Miyetti cattle association and APC condemned him for it.

The decision ofGovernor Ayodele Fayoseto ban grazing and cattle rearing in Ekiti stateraised a lot of comments among Nigerians. The latest reaction from the Governor of Bauchi state,Mohammed Abubakar condemned Fayose for his comments about the Fulani herdsmen Abubakar said“In a democracy, provisions have been made for anybody that is aggrieved with anything in the country to seek redress. Instead of resorting to makingsuch public pronouncements, there arelaid down laws to follow.

Secular state can bann alcohol. Happened alot in last century. Religion and moralism big factors in decision to sway politicians. It's same reason drugs like marijuana are banned even though the health wise less dangerous than alcohol.

You can find a few dry pockets in United States aswell. Funny enough your drive up the next city 15 minutes away and by the alcohol.

Source: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_dry_communities_by_U.S._state

Justdulla:

They banned sale of alcohol, they didn't say you cant drink it but they banned it.
They banned prostitution as well, you can engage in it but they say they dont want in their state.
Nigeria is secular we agree but who has alcohol or prostitution helped lately
What is wrong is wrong and every state government has a say to how things are being run in their territory cos if any social vice escalates via this, the same people will come here to ti criticize the government for not being proactive.

If various states can have their own laws, why was Fayose condemned by the north and some APC folks for banning grazing?
It is therefore clear to say that each state should be allowed to make and implement its own laws regardless the feelings of other citizens in different regions.

If the govt cannot achieve a reasonable impact on the economy in two years, then they should talk less and work more. I wouldnt have commented if I didnt see a president's spokeperson heaping imaginary praises on itself.

This Buhari government is very good at self-glorification focusing their energy on "looking good" without actually making any positive impact on changing peoples lives.
If Buhari was actually doing wonders, it will be backed by economic indices from both local and foreign sources with the general population all feeling a breeze of change. Sadly, the only change to be felt now is that of gloom and depression.

False sir, many countries make steel with imported iron ore. Who do you think buys the ores from Africa and what do you think they do with it? Japan has practically no mineral but they import from all over the world mostly from people too ignorant or lazy to make use of it and turn out autos, electronics, ships for sale worldwide
Then why waste forex on importing what you have in your backyard. Nigeria is blessed with iron ore deposit.

Bros I dont know if Itakpe sound familier? You can read about it.

Multi-billion contract fraud rocks Itakpe Iron Ore Mining Company
The Moribund Ajaokuta steel company which was expected to derive raw material supplies from NIOMCO, Itakpe
The Nigerian Iron-Ore Mining Company (NIOMCO) at Itakpe in Kogi State was established to meet the raw materials need of the Ajaoukuta Steel Company Limited (ASCL) as well as the one located at Ovwian/Aladja in Delta State. But investigations by Daily Trust on Sunday has shown that fraudulent award of contracts through the parent ministry over the years had rendered NIOMCO a mere conduit pipe.

The National Iron Ore Mining Company (NIOMCO) located at Itakpe near Okene in Kogi State had been reduced into a conduit pipe for the award of fraudulent contracts that were never executed over the years, leaving the company in a sorry state, investigations by Daily Trust on Sunday have revealed.

Corruption wont allow it function properly as quoted in the news source above. If the govt cannot even get this aspect right, how do you expect them to perform wonders at the Ajeokuta steel industry.

One problem at a time. The 1st thing is to say, we are going to produce our own steel, we are going to build our infrastructure using our own steel, we are going to assemble busses using Nigerian steel. We are going to put our people to work.

Trump is there shouting American jobs American jobs, you think he is a fool? Even he knows the dangers of exporting your factories and jobs to Mexico/China.

You still dont get it, we cant produce steel if we are not presently mining iron ore. It is just like building a refinery without mining crude oil first.
The basic steps in industrilization should be followed. Govt should invest more in raw materials and then allow the private sector to convert them to finished products.

Firstly i never said govt control is a good thing,it is by definition inefficient. I said if you were to use your brain is that there are some industries that only govt has the capacity to initiate....after which they can sell. Stop trying to be too clever by halves.

Please my friend use your brain and stop wasting your time sending links ....this is common sense. Who is going to establish steel industry in Nigeria if not the govt 2) is an inefficient steel industry that provides jobs not better that expending scarce forex importing nails? 3) do countries all over the world not subsidise their uncompetitive/inefficient industries including steel or protect them? These are the issues.

This is not entirely true, the problem is the government isnt following the right steps; before building industries, the precursors or raw materials should be readily available. At the moment govt is not mining iron ore or allowing private companies to do so. Doing so will bring in the needed investors into the steel industry. The simple fact being even if this govt eventually make this steel industry functional, there will be a great problem of availability or raw materials which in turn mean the revitalized steel industry will remain dormant again pending the availabilty of iron ore through mining.

The question that the government should try to solve is why are oil marketers no longer importing products? Blame games will only heighten bad blood between government and marketers. I for once think the government is still forcing marketers to sale at a stipulated price which means the sector has not be fully deregulated.
