One of the reasons we have insecurities in Nigeria is most politicians are in support of criminals and also the lack of enforcement of our laws.

Nigeria is the only place in earth where people commit crime and then call their brother in power to come save them. No consequences for anybad actions they take.
Typical Fulani muslim! Then what'll happen to marauding fulani herdsmen terrorist, the 4th deadliest terrorist group in the world, which also are one of the Genesis of insecurity in this country..

Again, armed herders kill five in two separate attacks on Benue communities

No fewer than five persons have been reportedly killed in two separate attacks on Imandeakpu and Mbatyough Saghev communities in Guma and Gwer West Local Government Areas of Benue state, respectively.

Saturday Vanguard gathered from a source in the area that the attack on Imandeakpu along the Gbajimba Federal University of Agriculture, FUAM-Gbajimba left four persons dead and several others injured.

According to the source, the armed marauders invaded the community at about 11 pm, shooting sporadically and mowed down anyone they caught.

He said, “the attack was unprovoked, the armed herders sneaked into the village when everyone had gone to bed and started shooting sporadically.

The sound of the gunshots created a pandemonium, people ran out of their houses amid rapid gunshots and those that could not flee quickly were gunned down and butchered like animals.

“As we speak, the village has been deserted, some are fleeing towards Gbajimba the Local Government Headquarters while many others are heading towards the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi.

“Though we learnt that security personnel have moved into community to forestall further attacks,” he said

In Gwer West Local Government, the marauders were said to have invaded Mbatyough Saghev at 10 pm where they reportedly killed another victim whose corpse has been deposited at the Naka General Hospital mortuary.

Efforts to get the reaction of the Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent, DSP, Catherine Anene was unsuccessful as calls put to her phone were not responded to.

NEWSOrtom deserves commendation not condemnation – Benue govt blasts presidency

The Benue State Government has slammed the presidency over the recent statement which criticised Governor, Samuel Ortom for demanding a state of emergency on security.

DAILY POST recalls that Governor Ortom had on Tuesday, called on President Buhari to immediately convene a National Security Summit to discuss and address the worsening security situation in the country.

The governor had made the call while addressing protesting youths at Abagena village where Fulani militiamen killed seven persons and injured many others during a midnight attack on Monday.

Reacting, the presidency, in a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on media and publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu on Thursday, faulted Governor Ortom’s call for the president to be proactive in curbing the deteriorating security situation in the state.

According to Garba Shehu, Buhari was disappointed and sad over the comments of Governor Samuel Ortom, while reacting to the numerous killings in the state.

However, the Benue State Government via a statement issued on Friday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, said Ortom deserves to be commended for his actions.

The statement reads: “We read the statement in which he said President Muhammadu Buhari had expressed “his disappointment and sadness to hear Samuel Ortom, the Governor of Benue State made a litany of accusations against his person and his government following the recent unfortunate incidents in the state”.

Shehu was referring to Governor Ortom’s clarion call on the President to act decisively and in an unbiased manner to end the spate of killings by Fulani herdsmen in Benue and other parts of the country.

We are convinced that Mr President was not aware that his aide Shehu made such a statement on his behalf. The media aide didn’t speak for the President in the said statement. President Buhari wouldn’t have approved such a reckless and insensitive press release.

What is wrong with Governor Ortom’s call on the President to address the nation, convene a national security summit and declare a state of emergency on security, following the spate of killings taking place in Benue and the remaining states of the federation?

Governor Ortom is not the only one who is worried by the worsening security situation in the country and has called on the President to rise to his responsibilities by declaring a state of emergency on security and convening a summit to address the numerous security challenges bedevilling the nation. Many other Nigerians of good conscience have at different times made similar calls. What the Governor therefore deserves is commendation and not condemnation.

If Garba Shehu claims that the President is disappointed in the Benue State Governor for speaking against the sustained attacks on his people, we wonder how he feels about the killings in North East, North West, South East, South West and other parts of the North Central. Are those killings occurring of the comments of Governors of the affected states?

It is shocking that Shehu would make a statement regarding an attack carried out by Fulani herdsmen and there won’t be a single sentence of reproach directed at the violent Fulani herders. Such a deliberate omission smacks of complicity and tacit support for the killer herders.

Shehu is aware that Governor Ortom has on several occasions raised alarm against activities of the rampaging herdsmen whose sole aim is to take over the ancestral lands of Benue people and other Nigerians. The Governor has written letters to the Federal Government and made other spirited efforts to have the government at the centre take preventive measures against further attacks on Benue communities.

“The Federal Government has repeatedly ignored such patriotic calls, insisting rather that cattle routes of the 1950s be opened to grant easy passage to the pastoralists and their animals.

The posture of the Federal Government has made many Nigerians conclude that it is complicit and its inaction has emboldened the armed herdsmen to cause greater havoc across the country.

“The President is Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. The job of a Governor is to support security agencies to perform their duties, and this, Governor Ortom has done efficiently to the admiration of many Nigerians.

“When President Buhari gave a shoot on sight order to security agencies against persons bearing AK47, Governor Ortom was one of the first to support the presidential directive. The Minister of Defence came out a few weeks later to counter the President’s order and we expected a reaction from the presidency but till this minute, no such reaction has been heard.

What Garba Shehu ought to know is that Governor Ortom has no personal grudge against the President. The Governor is only being patriotic by calling for justice, equity, fairness and above all the rule of law. He expects the President to be the leader of every Nigerian and treat all as his people”.

Tinubu's Statements On Insecurity During Jonathan And Buhari Governments Suggest Desperation For Power
There are rumours in many quarters that Tinubu is nursing an ambition for the 2023 presidential election.

Former Lagos State Governor and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu's speech in a space of seven years has suggested his desperation for power.

There are rumours in many quarters that Tinubu is nursing an ambition for the 2023 presidential election.

Checks by SaharaReporters have revealed Tinubu's bias towards the President Muhammadu Buhari-eld government in comparison to the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

In November 2014, Tinubu said President Jonathan’s administration lacked the wherewithal to tackle the country’s security challenges.

The former Lagos State governor consequently asked Jonathan to resign as Nigerian president.

He said, “I saw the sea of refugees caused by the Boko Haram insurgents and the lies coming from Jonathan’s administration. They have exhibited failure, lack of capacity, vision and creativity. The lies of yesterday are what they repeat today and are what they will repeat tomorrow. They are lying to you.

“They are lying about the security, toying about the security of this country. I don’t have time to explain the logic of their lies.

“But if you control the armed forces and you are the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic, why should any part of this country be under occupation? And you give us excuses every day. In any civilised country, Jonathan should have resigned. But if he will not resign, he should wait for our broom, we will sweep him away. I will come back.

“This is just the endorsement of Governor Ahmed, that he will be re-elected by the grace of God with the support of you people here and those outside there. The unemployment situation will be conquered by this administration of APC (All Progressives Congress). We have the vision for the security of the lives of our children.

“The thieves that daily steal your money have not given you any job, they cannot create jobs and they are starving states of funds to pay workers salaries. The best thing to do is to sweep them away through the broom revolution. APC is a party of the masses.

“It now behoves on you to begin a house to house campaign that this is a party of the masses.”

But speaking in 2021, during the 12th Colloquium themed “Our Common Bond, Our Common Wealth” held in Kano, Tinubu, urged President Buhari to recruit more youths into the Nigerian Army.

This is a sharp contrast to the condemnation of the President Goodluck Jonathan-led administration.

He authorised the immediate recruitment of up to 50 million young Nigerians into the Nigerian Army to tackle the Boko Haram and criminal bandits ravaging the country.

He later said he meant to say 50,000 and not 50 million.

He argued that such an action would overwhelm the ragtag groups of insurgents and bandits terrorising the country across multiple flanks.

“We are under-policed and we are competing with armed robbers and bandits to recruit from the youths who are unemployed —33 per cent unemployed?” Tinubu said at his 69th birthday celebration which was held in Kano.

In his address, Tinubu suggested that education and literacy were not important to the recruitment process, rather it should be based on the willingness to fight criminals.

He said: “Don’t talk about illiteracy, anybody who can hold a gun, who can handle a gun, who can cock and shoot is technically competent to repair a tractor in the farm.”

Boko Haram terrorists attack Kanamma in YobePublished on April 30, 2021By Maina Maina

Residents of Kanamma in Yunusari Local Government Area of Yobe State are currently taking refuge in the bush as they fled their homes following an ongoing attack by Boko Haram militants.

This is coming barely 24 hours after reports claimed that the Boko Haram spiritual leader, Abubakar Shekau had appointed a new War Commander.

Kanamma is about 200klm from Damturu, the Yobe State capital in northeast Nigeria. It is also the birthplace of Boko Haram insurgency in the state.

According to residents, prior to the attack, the community saw some Boko Haram fighters but could not report due to fear.

ASP Dungus Abdulkarim, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Yobe Police Command Damaturu confirmed the attack to DAILY POST.

He said, there was a Boko Haram insurgents attack on Kanamma, but unfortunately, they lost contact with Police in Kanamma due to the absence of mobile network in the area.

“We will update you when we reach out to them,” he said.

We’ll Avenge Death Of Every Herdsman Killed In South-East By Nnamdi Kanu’s IPOB, Miyetti Allah Threatens.

One of the umbrella bodies of herdsmen in Nigeria, the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, has urged security agencies to deal with “terrorists killing” Fulani herders in the South-East.

Spokesman for the group, Saleh Alhassan, disclosed this while reacting to the killing of one of the commanders of Indigenous People of Biafra gunned down by security operatives last Saturday.

Police operatives and their counterparts from the Nigerian Army and Department of State Services had killed an IPOB leader, one Commander Ikonso and six other militia members in Imo state.

The IPOB men, who were members of the secessionist group’s security arm, the Eastern Security Network, were killed during an early morning raid on their hideout at Awomama village, Oru East Local Government Area of the state last week.

IPOB has since threatened “madness”, saying the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, will “pay dearly” for the killing of its commander.

But speaking on Thursday to Punch, the Miyetti Allah spokesman lauded the security agencies, adding that they should “intensify efforts” in dealing with all terrorist elements in the country.

He said, “The security agencies should intensify efforts in dealing with all those terrorists killing Fulani herders, burning police stations, prisons and destroying institutions in the South-East.”

Alhassan said at least 50 herders have been killed in the South-East in the last one month, adding that his group would avenge the death of those members.

He said, “So far, more than 50 herders have been killed in the South-East in the last one month, we have the record and the Igbo terrorists led by Nnamdi Kanu will pay for everybody they killed.

“It is unfortunate that they have forgotten history, how we saved a lot of Igbos in the North during the Civil War but now they are killing our people. They are making a grievous mistake. We will take necessary steps, both legal and cultural steps, to avenge the killings of our members.
