In the Nigeria of today, with a degree in french, you can work in a hospital...(in an admin, HRM, Medical record units, etc) and not in the public-health unit. Certainly, there would be quick career progression for medical doctors in the hospital than engineers working in the same institution.
Their salaries, bonuses, job responsibilities, schedule, long-term career goals, opportunity to grow fast is what we are looking at.
You said you don't see anything engineering related there.....that lawyers are mostly needed there? (smiles) Do you even know how they are structured? Do you know that the career growth of different disciplines or unit in there are not the same. Do you work at Nigerian Shippers Council?

I don't mean to say that an engineer is totally useless in the NSC.
I'm correcting the impression that engineers and scientists are very significant in the NSC.
Of course the NSC has information technology unit and I know a young mechatronics engineer working there.
Primarily the Nigerian shippers council as ports economic regulator is saddled with the responsibility of regulating shipping costs, demurrage charges and other arbitrary charges. They protect the interest of the shipper. They are concerned with cargo. NPA is concerned with regulating ports operations. NIMASA protects the ship.
So in summary, NSC-cargo, NPA-ports, NIMASA-ship.
NPA and NIMASA have more engineering applications than the NSC.
I don't work with the NSC.... Maybe if Hassan Bello had given me an opportunity I'd have said yes ( with so much joy ).

(NB: If your field of study has to do with accounting or economics, go for NDIC but if It has to do with Engineering or pure sciences then please go for Nigerian Shippers Council).

Nigerian Shippers Council is Nigeria's Ports economic regulator. I don't see anything science and engineering related there. Maybe you wanted to say NPA or NIMASA.
So lawyers are most needed in the NSC.

In Nigeria of today, course no matter. Just get the job. A lawyer is the minister of works.

Depends on your course of study and what you want in a job...
Alot of money in NIMASA and that's tempting.
But based on my interactions with guys in NCC, there are opportunities for local and international trainings. If you are an electrical/computer/communication Engr, NCC should be your choice.

But guy you get connect o...these kind of options. Are you Buhari's son?

Find a way to see him eyeball to eyeball and beg him like your life depends on that job or get a politician to call him for you.
As for text message, the likelihood of him replying to a stranger is very low. Pity message hardly touch their hearts, they've trained themselves not to help people for God's sake but for political benefits men can offer.
And if he replies, he might just catch cruise with you.
This is from my personal experience.

They can only be as serious as the government is willing to invest in Nigeria’d space industry major problem is they need to find means to generate income, when you depend on the government for finances you become a liability because you are not remitting but taking hence increasing government spending. When another administration comes now and sees no necessity for it, it could be easily scrapped and employees absorbed into the ministry reducing employees financial power by far, hopefully it wouldn’t get to that point

You can also run your msc phd etc while working it allows for that but priority given to those studying something space related as people tend to abscond especially those that go for PHDs abroad

Yes it is and its starts at 223k but beginning of every year you get a variation increment so as you step increases before you hit level 9 you salary should get to 230k while level 7 hits 200k on the dot post deductions

Its one of the things that the engineers and scientific officers are displeased about but engineers that start with bsc are advanced after 2 years to level 8

Engineers and scientific officers earn more.
