It’s possible that you have seen the acronym, STEM, before, but you don’t know its meaning. STEM as it is widely used by most people simply means Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics. The future of the world lies in STEM. First off, the world is ever changing, and the need to have young minds who can critically think, evaluate processes, bring knowledge and skills to provide solutions to the world’s problems, have much information and be able to make drastic evidence is on the rise. Unarguably, these are the values embedded in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics. Studying any of the STEM courses makes one understand and solve the problems both present ones and tomorrow’s and to meet the changing yet competitive global transition in terms of developmental standards. As it stands, STEM education is accepted globally. Governments of nations spend heavily on it. There is a wide and wild sensitization on the need for students to study STEM courses, which is unarguably the future of the world. In fact, there is much more admission space for STEM courses aspirants than the aspirants who want to study non-STEM courses. In Nigeria, the ratio is 60:40. People who study STEM courses are seen as professionals and more qualified than their counterparts who study non-STEM courses. Being a professional in this sense means that a person who doesn’t study the course cannot dabble into the profession. For instance, it is not possible to see someone that studies Banking and Finance become a medical doctor. STEM is technology-oriented and demands great expertise. By studying any STEM courses, to get a high-paying job is easier and more lucrative than studying non-STEM courses. It has become a priority for employers to employ qualified graduates who are solely qualified in their disciplines, not those who do not know the right place to work. The demand to employ employees based on STEM is very high, and never-changing, obvious since the world is going more digital. More so, graduates of STEM courses find it easy to secure migration to foreign courses if they are determined to seek greener pastures in their chosen fields. In 2017, a survey by the Nigeria Polling Organisation (NOIPolls) in partnership with Nigeria Health Watch shows that 88 percent of the Nigerian doctors were in the search for job opportunities abroad. Without a doubt, STEM courses promise to give a better tomorrow more than others. It is wise for any student to move into the direction of the technology-based changing of the world. With STEM, to secure a job in the country or outside the country is easy and lucrative. Here is the list of STEM courses. Aerospace engineering. Astronomy. Biochemistry. Biology. Botany. Chemical engineering. Chemistry. Civil engineering. Computer science. Electrical Engineering. Food Science. Forensic Science. Mathematics. Mechanical Engineering. Petroleum Engineering. Physics. Psychology. Statistics. Zoology, etc. https://www.emeritushub.com/the-advantages-of-studying-stem-courses/ |
In his lifetime, Petrach wrote 366 sonnets, and the vast majority of them, 317 precisely, were dedicated to a lady, named Laura, an embodiment of beauty, though she was not evidently known by people. He spent much of his lifetime, admiring and fantasizing marrying a lady whom he met once in a church. Funnily enough, Laura got married two years before their meeting. However, Petrach, an ardent suitor, would not give in to such defeat. He went ahead to buy an estate very near to his self known lover, Laura, who did not even know whether he existed. 8 years after Petrach bought the estate, Laura died. Despite her demise, he wrote ‘Trionfi’ for her. The love he had for Laura was undying, unexpressed and unrequited. You can engage yourself in part time teaching. You only need to get like 4-6 schools. You will be charging them per period. Just tell any proprietor that you know that you need a part time teaching job. S/he will collect you. In fact, it will get to a point that you will reject some. Tell people and make search. It is easy to find schools but it may be difficult if you don't know how. Let me tell you how it works! You collect #500 naira per period: 40 - 45 minutes. A school gives you 8 - 10 periods per week. And you have four schools like that; calculate the money. Many part time teachers in local areas even get like 60k upward every month. You can be getting 150k or more depending on the area. All depends on your intelligence, exposure, field of study and bargaining power. Teachers who teach core subjects rake money home in part time teaching. My 2 cent. |
Xscape047:I'm a writer. I can work for you. |
Tyg3rFvry:Yes, use JAMB syllabus to study. But be ready to come to Ibadan, at least, two months before the exam day. There are many tutorials inside UI that you can attend. The tutors are erudite and are students or graduates of the institution. They have vast knowledge and they will teach you how you can arrive at the right answer without wasting time. Some students have started the preparation now. So, you should also start. Don't procrastinate. |
Tyg3rFvry:As a UI student, let me give you candid advice. First off, in UI, your score is just average. UI started using another way to set its Post UTME questions in 2019. And it became tougher in 2021. What is the way? All the questions carry roman numerals. For example: The hierarchy of Nairaland moderators are: i. Mind44 ii. Lalasticala iii. Divepen iv. Fynestboi Option A. i ii iii iv B. i iv iii ii C. ii I iii iv D. iv I iii ii I myself don't know the answer. It's just an example. You can see that the question will be time - consuming to answer. And the worst part of it is that that is how the 100 questions will look like. Nonetheless, you only have 90 minutes. I'm not here to scare you. If you know you want to choose UI, start reading afresh, taking note of every information in your textbooks sequentially. You mustn't leave any details for chance. Read different textbooks and read and read. Better still, move to Ibadan, around UI. Get yourself enrolled in a tutorial. With that, your chance will become high, if you are serious. If you can't follow any of the little advice I just share, please run away from UI. it's not a must for you to school in Ui. What matters is your ambition which can be got from any reputable university. Mind you, I'm in the Faculty of Arts and Humanity. Thank you. |
You didn't offend us. You just violated your body. It's good that you became remorseful. I pray your shame get healed soon. But people should be aware of who they copulate with. Don't let anyone video you in the act. And, more importantly, avoid premarital sex. The tenet of a good society is still anchored on morals and ethics. Good luck to you, girl. |
Good morning! Let me add this value to you. Do you know that punctuation marks can change the meaning of an expression? Look at this: Let's eat, children. Let's eat children. The difference between the two sentences above is comma, yet they have different meanings. The first sentence means the speaker commands the children to come to eat while the second means that the speaker tells some persons that he with they should eat the children. Unknowingly, the speaker of the second statement has killed people with his mouth. Learn how to use punctuation marks. I can teach you, if you desire. I believe you got a value here. I'm Emeritus! I teach, and write. I also mentor people. Contact me for any work on this number: 08128403205. Thank you. |
She made some points, but they are not feasible. I get my reasons. Don't ask me why. |

Agbowo is now a hell on earth for UI students. The place is the haven of criminals parading themselves as inhabitants. Last seasion, a lot of killings, burglaries and thefts are reported, and nothing is done. There are some times we hardly sleep in Agbowo. In fact, a lot of students are forced to do Till Day Break (TDB) in school everyday to guarantee their safety. Anybody who lives close to or is aware of happenings in UI environments will know that insecurity is at its peak and it has degenerated the places into the abode of criminals. The letter, to me, is not a threat, but a report and wake up call to the office of the governor of the state who has failed to let the people under his care to enjoy peace. |
This is not something you should be proud off sir. Cultism, nowadays, is nothing to write home about. It is one of the problems menacing our tertiary institutions and streets today. |
