Good day all. Please I need help in my tma on logic (POL 312) . Which form of logic is concerned with syntax rather than with semantics? A. Symbolic B. Ideological C. Identity D. Precision. In the course material, the correct answer is symbolic logic but when I choose the option in both tma1 and tma2 it gave me 0 as score . How can I go about it? Should I still go for the option A or do a guess work? Thanks. |

Education › Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by emmaclue: 4:11pm On Mar 05, 2018 |
dave121: There can't be a carry over if one does not have an "F" grade in a particular course, grade "F" has an "0" contribution to the weighing score of a student. In other words, grade "F" is 0 point multiply by the number of units assigned to the course. This would have affected the student's CGPA or GPA (for a new entrant) at that first attempt. The second attempt will be independent on the outcome of the previous result and therefore be treated as a different entity. For illustration purpose, if Mr. Adam (personified) had a carry over in a 3-unit course among other courses namely: ABC112-A, ABC113-C and ABC114-F each of 3 units, Graded Point Average will be calculated as: ABC112 - A....... 5 x 3 = 15 (Grade A is assigned 5 points, multiplied by the number of units (3)) ABC113 - C .......3 x 3 = 9 (Grade C is assigned 3 points, multiplied by the number of units (3)) ABC114 - F .......0 x 3 = 0 (Grade F is assigned 0 point, multiplied by the number of units (3)) GPA for semester1 will be : Total points acquired (15 + 9 + 0 )/total units available (9) = 2.67 out of 5 possible points. Assuming Mr. Adam wrote his carry over course (ABC114) the following semester and had grade B among other new courses (of 3 units each) namely: BCD121- A, BCD123-C and his carry over course ABC114-B. His Cumulative Graded Point Average (CGPA) will be calculated as: (i) GPA for semester2: (5 x 3) + (3 x 3 ) + (4 x 3)/9 = 4 (just as it was calculated above) (ii) Mr. Adam's CGPA will therefore be: Total point acquired for the 2 semesters/ total number of units for the 2 semesters = (24 + 36)/(9 +9) = 60/18 = 3.33 As you have seen in the illustration above, the different grades obtained in both semesters were used independently to obtain the GPA for each semester. Thanks.. God bless . |

Anthonyo15: CALCULATING YOUR SCORE AND KNOWING YOUR GRADES AFTER EACH PAPER (SIMPLIFIED EXPLANATION By Macharthony)
Immediately after submission, you will see two different grades. One of them would be over the total number of questions answered while the other would be over 100. For instance, if u did a paper of 35 questions, and answered 20 correctly, u will see 20/35 and 57.1/100. If u did an exam of 120 questions and did 60 correctly, u will see 60/120 and 50/100.
But regardless of the one used, your _average exam score_ is obtained by multiplying any of the two grades by 70.
e.g. 60/120 is equivalent to 50/100... hence, to know ur actual exam score, just say:
(60/120) x 70 = 35 OR (50/100) x 70 = 35
Then add the sum of your best three TMAs to it to obtain your final grade.
So if u did 4 TMAs for instance and get the following: 10, 9, 8, 10... then the best three of all the TMAs is 10+10+9= 29.
You exam overall is over 70 and your TMA is over 30 to make your total grade over 100.
So with the above examples, it means the person scored 35/70 in exam and 29/30 in TMA, making 64/100 in all. This person has just made a *"B"* for that paper. Because:
70 and above is A 60-69.9 is B 50-59.9 is C 45-49.9 is D 40-44.9 is E Less than 40 is F (Carry Over) Thanks for the info.. What I meant is if one hv a carry over in a course and writes it the following semester, how will it be graded? Thanks |
