When I see pictures of corpers flying around the social media showing off their NYSC certificate , at some time , I began to wonder if it is an employment letter they are showing off .

My advise to prospective corpers is to engage in any skill acquisition . As the OP rightly said , the world is not a bed of roses . You may not know where your skill will lead you to .

I missed my service year but I didn't fail to utilize my time at home . By God's grace , I'll be serving this year meanwhile I'm already earning an average of #300,000 monthly sitting at home and blogging .

Discover your passion and every other thing shall be added into you !

– The supporters club members were left stranded in Abuja on Easter Monday

– Egyptian embassy in Abuja denied the Nigerian supporters club members an entry visa

The Egyptian embassy has denied football supporters an entry visa to their country in the return leg of the African Cup of Nations 2017 qualifier.

Nigeria played a 1 – 1 draw against Egypt in Kaduna on Saturday. Chairman of the club, Rafiu Ladipo accused the embassy of sabotage and also that they want to frustrate them intentionally.

In a chat with NAIJ.com sports at the airport when the team was leaving for Alexandria on March 27 he said:

“We have been going there, they keep saying come today and come tomorrow and they said they are waiting for clearance from their own country before issuing us a visa.”

“We are waiting for our passport, no visa, no passport my men came from different states to this place and here they are they cannot travel, none of us is given a visa, but no matter what they do, God is with Nigeria.

A total number of 54 supporters were spotted sitting down looking tired and stranded at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in Abuja:

“This is not the first time they are dong this, even when you got there they fight physically, because we don't fight them but they must know this time that we are going to pay them back in their coin even if it is 10 years to come.

Bala Nikyu’s girls are the 11th team to qualify for the fifth edition of the biennial international women's youth football championship.

Nigeria U17 women have qualified for the 2016 Fifa U17 Women’s World Cup billed for Jordan.

Bala Nikyu’s girls recorded a 1-0 victory over hosts South Africa at the Makhulong Stadium to qualify 7-0 on aggregate.

Bantwana needed to score seven goals to go through to the World Cup without a reply from the Flamingoes; but Ajibade’s 28th minute goal put paid to any hopes of the hosts pulling off a surprise turn-around.

Africa has three slots at the U17 Women’s World Cup and South Africa was hoping to snatch one of the spots.
Maude Khumalo’s charges tried hard in the second half to go out with pride but a resolute Nigeria defence snuffed out any chances the locals had of scoring a consolation goal.

With this, Nigeria join hosts Jordan, Japan, North Korea, United States of America, Mexico, Canada, Brazil, Paraguay, Venezuela and New Zealand for the competition to hold between 30 September – 21 October, 2016.

UEFA is set to be asked to radically overhaul the Champions League's format to allow for more games between the continent's elite clubs across two "mini super leagues," according to multiple reports in England.

The new format would involve an initial knockout round of 32 teams before the 16 winners advance into two groups of eight. The winners of those two "super leagues" would then advance to the final.

The format -- one of several proposals, according to Sky Sports -- would be similar to the final season of the European Cup in 1991-92, when there were two knockout rounds followed by two groups of four teams, with the winners advancing to a final.

However, this new proposal would ensure that teams reaching the group stage would play a minimum of 14 games after the knockout round, with the majority likely to come against big-name opposition.

A source close to the talks told The Times: "The Champions League is losing audiences and interest lately -- you have seen that at games like Real Madrid versus BATE Borisov. The group system in the future needs to ensure that there are more interesting games and less uninteresting ones -- if you have two groups of eight, every team in these groups have 14 very good games."

The Daily Telegraph said some teams may attempt to "propose the right to automatic entry" to the group stage to avoid the risk of elimination in the knockout round but added: "That will be opposed by other clubs."

The Telegraph said a group of European clubs -- particularly in Germany, Italy and Spain -- are behind the scheme as they want to increase revenue amid concerns that the Premier League's new television deal will see English sides leave their continental counterparts behind.

Sources told ESPN FC earlier this month that the top Premier League clubs were happy with the current Champions League format.

It had been reported that Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool met with a representative of Relevent Sports to discuss a European Super League, but the clubs have denied that was the topic of discussion and German newspaper FAZ subsequently said that the European Club Association (ECA) was behind the drive to shake up the current system.

ECA chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, who is also Bayern Munich's CEO, then confirmed that clubs and UEFA were considering a third European competition to be placed above the Champions League and Europa League. The Champions League format change could be adopted as a compromise.

The Manchester Evening News said on Thursday that Manchester City are opposed to a European Super League, with the report saying: "City make the point that a Super League would be detrimental to the Premier League, which makes at least three times as much revenue for them as the Champions League."

UEFA told The Guardian that no changes could be made before the 2018-19 season as the current cycle, which refers to the regulations agreed by all parties including television companies, does not end until 2018.

The UEFA spokesperson said: "UEFA is in constant contact with all stakeholders, including the clubs, on all football matters. Therefore, any plans to evolve the format of our club competitions would be coordinated and negotiated together with them.

"There are currently no concrete proposals on the table since we are at the beginning of a new cycle [2015-18] of our club competitions."

Not everyone can meet Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi -- not even the daughters of the President of the United States, Barack Obama.

Obama was speaking at the Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative Town Hall in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and revealed that his daughters Sasha and Malia had asked him if they could meet the Argentine No. 10.

But even the POTUS could not make it happen.

"I also wanted to bring my daughters here, so they could see the beauty and the vibrancy of this city," he told the crowd. "They've already met one famous Argentinean -- His Holiness Pope Francis. Now they want to meet [Lionel] Messi, but I could not arrange that."

Good to know that even some of the most famous people on the planet can't get everything they want, but it is surely only a matter of time before a signed Messi shirt arrives on the steps of the White House.
