This season of the sport event which covered football matches among participating schools also featured track and field event of 100m race, 4X1 800 Meters race and it was for both male and female category.

Venue of the the Lagos HSSC 1 tournament was on the prestigious sport pavilion of Caleb British International school Lekki.

An Enugu State High Court today sentenced Chiamaka Ifezue to death by hanging for killing an Enugu-based makeup artist, Ijeoma Nweke
The court, presided over by Honourable Justice Kenneth Okpe, in a two-hour judgement on Wednesday found the accused, Chiamaka Ifezue, guilty of killing the victim by forcing her to drink a poisonous substance.

The corpse of the make-up artist was found around Maryland within Enugu Metropolis on Monday, November 16, 2020.Nweke had left home on Wednesday, 11 November, for a job but went missing afterwards.

Her supposed client, having refused to disclose the location for the job, asked the deceased to stop at the Enugu State Broadcasting Service (ESBS) bus stop, where she will then be taken to the venue.

Nweke, having perceived foul play, sent the client’s phone number to her brother via text.

Her phones were unreachable after hours leading to suspicion that she might have been kidnapped.

This led to a frantic search for her by friends and relatives until early on Monday morning when her corpse was found at Maryland in Enugu.

Eyewitnesses said that her corpse was mutilated with a substance suspected to be acid.

The Michael Okpara University, Umudike, Abia State has suspended indefinitely its ongoing academic activities following the protest by students against the increment of school fees in the early hours of Tuesday

Punch Metro learnt from a statement by the Vice Chancellor of the school, Prof. Maduebibisi Iwe, that academic activities of the institution had been suspended indefinitely after the violent protest.


The statement read in part, “This is to notify the public that the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike, Abia State woke up to experience the violation of the long-existing peace of the university this morning.

“To safeguard life and properties on campus, the university management has on behalf of the Senate ordered an indefinite shutdown of the university indefinitely.”

The school management advised all the students to vacate the university premises immediately or no later than 5.00 pm on Tuesday, February 6, 2024.

Oil and Gas Watchdog, a Civil Society Group for Transparency in Extractive Sector, CCSGTES, has urged the House of Representatives to probe the Nigeria Upstream Regulatory Commission, NUPRC, over allocation of marginal oil fields.


This is contained in a statement signed by Nduka Chinwuba, the National Coordinator of the group in Abuja on Wednesday.

Mr Chinwuba alleged that the publication of the 2021 NEITI Oil and Gas Report showed that the NUPRC awarded marginal fields to some companies prior to payment of signature bonus by the firms, and in the process did not adhere to its own regulations.

“It is expedient that there is need for the present management to be probed to allow for deliberate reframing of the commission to address concerns about manifest mismanagement.

“It will augur well for the House of Reps to open a probe of the NUPRC as some commissioners are willing to testify to the malfeasance in the commission,” he said.

He expressed worry over the series of protests and agitations in the commission, adding that such incessant protests must be addressed.

In April 2021, I began my journey in real estate after facing issues with the network marketing business I was running. While many people were looking for an investment opportunity that would bring returns without much effort, they didn't understand that network marketing required building a team of product users. Despite my efforts to explain, people still didn't grasp the concept and often became inactive once they registered. I knew I needed to find a legitimate, sustainable, and easily understandable business, so I began searching until a friend suggested real estate. The idea immediately appealed to me since real estate offered the potential for good returns with minimal risk as long as one dealt with a reputable consultant/company. I am now happier and more at peace working as a real estate consultant, knowing that I am helping my clients secure their investments while also building my own success.





● Can you share some examples of successful real estate transactions you have facilitated, highlighting the outcomes achieved for your clients?



I have had a couple of successful real estate transactions for clients both in Nigeria and the diaspora, but let me tell you about two of the ones that give me the most joy. You see, there is a client I practically dragged to buy a property we launched sometime around April 2022. As a matter of fact, I had to go to the office on a Saturday to facilitate the transaction so that my client wouldn't miss out on the pre-launch price. Can you guess what the pre-launch price was? Let me tell you: 6 million naira!!! We sold a plot for 6 million naira last year, and guess what again? The same property, I mean the same land, is currently selling for 15 million naira per plot. Barely one year after, my client is enjoying a 9 million naira return on investment on one plot of land.

There is another client who reluctantly deposited 50,000 naira for one plot of land, and he said to me, "Madam, I'm just doing this because you are the one marketing the land to me. You know I trust you, but I've had horrible experiences with land purchase in the past." He entrusted everything in my care. He didn't even inspect the land. The day I finally took him to his land, ohhhhh, he prayed for me, and he told me his only regret is that he didn't pay for two plots.





● What strategies do you employ to ensure exceptional customer service and satisfaction for your clients?



I ensure that I keep my clients informed throughout the entire process of buying or selling a property and respond promptly to their inquiries through effective communication. I also approach every client according to their unique needs and preferences by taking the time to understand their individual requirements and customize their service accordingly. I don’t take my learning for granted; I keep myself updated with the latest trends and developments in our industry, which enables me to provide informed guidance to my clients and help them make well-informed decisions. I also ensure that I am 100% honest with my clients. I do not hide any information from them about any developments that may impact the sale or purchase of their property and provide realistic expectations.





● How do you stay up-to-date with the latest market trends and changes in the real estate industry?



To stay up-to-date with the latest market trends and changes, I make sure to attend events and conferences, and I also utilize the online space by reading real estate publications. Additionally, I embark on regular site inspections.

I conduct comparative market analysis, which involves comparing the current property being valued with similar properties that have recently sold in the same area. I also take into consideration the size, age, location, market trends, competition, and condition of the properties.

I believe in networking. The money you are looking for is in people's pockets, so I believe the more I network with the right set of people, the more sales and progress I can make. ZIM GAS LTD originated from DK FLAME INDUSTRIAL AND DOMESTIC LIQUIFIED PETROLEUM GAS APPLIANCES, which has been in the business for many years and has acquired the necessary experience and techniques to make our products stand out. Customers who purchase gas accessories such as cylinders and cookers often travel long distances to purchase cooking gas. This is what gave birth to the idea of bringing gas plants into our localities to fill this gap and provide clean energy. Thus, ZIM GAS was born.

Election year is a few months away governance has been put on hold as many governors, ministers, etc have stopped working to focus on the coming election.



They were seen traveling to London to meet with Buhari when he went on a medical journey (as usual) and now that he's back, Abuja is their new home.



For the forthcoming coming election, many have declared their intention to run for the office of choice but I'll be focusing on the Presidential ticket now. There are two main political parties as we all know, the ruling party ALL PEOPLES CONGRESS (APC), and the opposition party PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC PARTY (PDP).

Without trying to pamper words or deceive ourselves, we all know that either of these parties will produce the next president of Nigeria. There are several other parties though, according to INDEPENDENT ELECTORAL COMMISSION (INEC) there are 18 registered political parties. For this writing, only 2 parties will be focused on.



In the APC, After months of speculation, the national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on January



11th, 2022, formally declared his intention to run for the country’s number one office in 2023, immediately after that, we have other members of the party and members of other parties declare to run. One thing that surprises me however was the fact that when Tinubu left the country or whenever he is not rigorously campaigning, no one seems to want to campaign. There were so many permutations as to if the National Chairman of the party was zoned to the North, the presidential ticket automatically will be zoned to the south. This only means one thing, the presidential candidate will either come from the Southwest, south-south, or southeast. So, if Tinubu was seen to have been very loud about his ambition to become the next president, under the party, it's safe to say he would be given the ticket as the custom of APC is, always by consensus. Also, there were no worthy candidates at that time.



On the 23rd of March, AtikuAbubakar declared to run under the umbrella of PDP. It was expected. PDP however, was in a long hurdle as to whether to Zone the presidential slot or just leave it open. While this was going on, on the 24th of March, Peter Obi, an ex-governor of Anambra state declared his intention to run under PDP also. People online were quick to switch to his side.




On April 11th, 2022, Vice president YemiOsinbajo declared his intention to run for the seat of the president. This caused a lot of back and forth as some quarters called him a betrayal because he'll be competing against his boss, AsiwajuTinubu who had earlier declared.





As far as this writer is concerned, the best candidate for the office of the president of this country is Peter Obi and YemiOsinbajo.



Peter has been tested and trusted. He did wonders in Anambra and even left over N7Billion in the state's treasury.

For Osinbajo, we know whenever is boss, Buhari is incapacitated to work and allowed to catch on, he always performed wonders.







The main questions now are:

1. Can APC give the ticket to Osinbajo?

2. Can PDP support OBi and make him the candidate for the party?

3. Can both Peter and Yemi come together to work as President and Vice President respectively?



These and many more questions are running through my mind and the minds of millions of Nigerians.

Bankole Damilare Richard known by his Artiste name Darel is a Singer, Songwriter and Producer with diverse interests in genres that cut across Afrobeat, Afro Pop, Dancehall and Alternative Music.


Born in Lagos Nigeria on the 8th of March, Darel started his musical career in 2016 at the age of 19 when he released his very first single titled sweet potato...he further released another single in 2019 titled Bedside which racked over 100,000 plays on all platform

A graduate of from the premier University of Ibadan, South West Nigeria. Darel has gone ahead to not just pursue music but adding formal education to it as well.

"I see my music as an avenue to show and tell the world about my reality. I make music from and for the soul the type that ignites special feelings in the listeners that they can immediately connect to".

Darel is currently working on his maiden project which will be available on all platforms soon titled “MyLoveLife”

Giving back to his roots, the President of Vision Of Christ Entertainment (VCE), Jeffery L. Omo-Omorogie, massively addressed as J. Jeff, has thrown open the doors of his company for musically gifted young acts to actualized their dreams.


The CEO whose debut album, I AM MOVING ON which came out late last year, taking his deserved space fast as a result of the input of celebrated acts like Orits Wiliki, Righteousman,Carol Cee and other big time players on the music scene who featured in the album. With this kind gesture, J. Jeff who had been at the background Recording and doing collabos with some top acts is no doubt poised to give a blank cheque which would eventually pull them up along the line in their career.
The J.Jeff Gospel Music talent hunt, a unit of VISION OF CHRIST ENTERTAINMENT PROJECT is packaged to change the game of gospel music making.
The overall winner of this contest and other lucky ones according to J. Jeff will be signed onto the VCE label.
This will be done in concert with some great icons at the grand finale, where all will do a collabo. To make the epoch making efforts in view thick, VCE will be working with the CEO of Bigtown International and Reggae power house, Righteousman who will manage and produce the project in view.
