https://www.reportnaija.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/5a8003689eee6.jpg Ghanaian government have concluded plans to install Closed-Circuit Televisions (CCTVs) at all police stations in the 216 districts in the country. Ghanaian Vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia announced the initiative as part of efforts to retool the Police Service and enhance security at police posts. The initiative came after repeated attacks on police stations by criminal gangs. Recently, a gang of criminals attacked the Kwabenya District Police Headquarters, killing the officer on duty, and freeing some seven remand prisoners. The incident raised concerns about safety at police posts, with many criticising the government for failing to adequately equip the Service. “Negotiations have just been completed for the rollout of Phase 2 of the Alpha Project which will involve the deployment of 8,700 CCTV cameras in all 216 districts with three command centres in Accra, Kumasi and Tamale. In line with our plans to equip the Police better, at least 1,000 new vehicles will be procured for the service this year. Already two hundred pick-up vehicles have been allocated with two hundred salon vehicles to be delivered in six weeks time with more to come,” the Vice President promised when he delivered a speech on behalf of President Nana Akufo-Addo at a ceremony to pass out new Police Cadets. source https://www.reportnaija.ng/2018/02/11/ghanaian-government-install-cctvs-police-stations/ cc lalasticlala |

The Big Brother Naija season 3 premiered on 28th of January 2018, with 20 housemates. [See their profiles here] Now, in the spirit of throwback, we bring you the FIRST EVER SET of Housemates of the Big Brother Nigeria season1.. https://www.reportnaija.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/bbnn-0-1.jpg The show, which featured 14 contestants with $100,000 prize money, was won by Katung Aduwak, while Sandra Osaigbovo and others came in as runners-up. Many of the former housemates have since moved on to various pursuits — some into private businesses which have kept them out of the spotlight, while others remained in the limelight. Here’s a bit about what seven of the 14 housemates have been up to 11 years after: Katung Aduwak https://madailygist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Katung-Aduwak-1024x576.jpg We all cannot forget that moment when 26-year-old Katung was announced the winner. His win was surprising since he came into the house after the second eviction and won about 80 percent of the tasks. He and his co-housemate, Sandy, were kept in isolation with no external contact and zero access to TV or news for three weeks before being introduced to the show. https://madailygist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Katung6.jpg Katung proceeded to New York to get a directorial degree from the Digital Film Academy, after which he returned to Nigeria and worked on several projects. He produced and directed the movies Unwanted Guest and Heaven’s Hell. He also directed a number of music videos for Chocolate City, Styl Plus, Gabriel Afolayan and starred in EbonyLife TV’s Desperate Housewives. Currently, Katung is the Senior Channel Manager MTV Base and Executive Director at Chocolate City. https://madailygist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Ebuka-Obi-Uchendu-1.jpg Ebuka Obi-Uchendu He is perhaps the most prominent face on the entertainment scene since leaving the Big Brother House. Ebuka won our hearts with his charming smile and witty personality. Although he did not win the show, he went on to write for a number of newspapers and magazines and anchor events before taking a break to go back to school for his master’s degree in Law. Since his return to the scene in 2011, there has been no stopping him! https://madailygist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Ebuka6.jpg Ebuka has become a media personality of note, contributing to several online publications and hosting several events. In 2013, he was announced as the new host of Rubbin’ Minds, a youth-focused TV show on Channels Television and is also one of the co-hosts of The Spot, a show that combines a bit of reality TV with talk show and sitcom, showing on EbonyLife TV on DStv channel 165 alongside Lamide Akintobi and Zainab Balogun. https://madailygist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/bbnn-0.jpg He has won several awards and has been honored by the Federal Government among Top 100 Young Nigerians to mark Nigeria’s centenary celebration in 2014. RMD in his Instagram page on the social media said this advice was necessary as the Valentine Season usually celebrated on Feb.14 on an annual basis draws closer. The former Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Delta said that he wanted to share his intellectual, motivational and thoughtful insights to guide appropriately those finding love on the internet to guide them against being jilted. He said on his Instagram page, “ If I wasn’t the six foot, successful, famous, good-looking RMD, will you still love me? “If not for the level of fame I have achieved and the success tied to my brand; will you still scream my name? “If I was a middle-aged, grey-bearded, emaciated applicant hoping to be your driver, will you give me a second look? “If I was a half-literate Warri boy who said ‘Nyam’ instead of Yam, “Shorsh” instead of Church and “I chock” instead of “I was shocked”, will you not mock and laugh at my speech? “If I, as RMD, fell on hard times, lost my fame and fortune, became helpless and hopeless, will you show any sympathy? “I asked, not because I do not know the answers but so that he that has ears will hear and hopefully learn a thing or maybe, two, “he said. He continued by saying, “In your desire to be loved and accepted, it is important to ask yourselves how much of the love and admiration are thrown at you are genuine. “Know that many do not love you; they love the idea of you. “It is the same people who sing your praises when you’re up, that tear you apart when you stumble and stomp on you when you fall. “Don’t let the number of followers you have, the likes and comments on your pictures or the hype fool you, one wrong move and the vultures will swoop down to feast. “This is why I appreciate the love but stay super selective when it comes to letting people in. I keep my circle small, in fact, very small. “I keep my private life, private and thank God for the grace to also keep my public life private. “Don’t put yourself out there and start crying foul when it blows up in your face and stop trying to sit with the cool kids, you are the cool kid. Know this and elevate above the clique mentality. “This is really the truth, you only gain attention because of what you are achieving, “he said. source https://www.reportnaija.ng/2018/02/02/rmd-cautions-social-media-love/ cc lalasticlala |
