Well, as calm and calculated as he has always been, Mr Udofia's photo with himself and his wife surfaced all over the news space. It's a photo from their 27th years marriage anniversary, as they were being blessed by Pope Francis, Head of Catholic Church and Sovereign of the Vatican city state.

Indeed, upon reinventing the Leadership wheels in Akwa Ibom State, Akan Udofia is standing tall in honing Governorship positon come 2023. Pundits has lauded his triumph, hence the youths of the State keeps yearning for his Visionary and innovative Leadership.

WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH IPOB IN THE SOUTH EAST?

What’s happening with IPOB it is something we took like a child’s play.

Like young men’s and women who have no jobs and are acting to be recognized but now it has become something worrisome but the truth. I cannot say that there is any leader or any important person in politics that is inciting these youths.

These youth are our children and most of them are hawkers, street traders, taxi drivers. Initially we took them as agitators but we never believe it would come to this level.

WHY ARE THE LEADERS NOT CONDEMNING ALL THESE ATROCITIES?

What you must know is that these children have never fought battles before. Some of them were not born when the war took place. The truth is that there is no leader that is behind this in the whole of Igbo land. The issue of Biafra doesn’t really come up. Biafra has become an old story. We are thinking of how to build a strong Nigeria, a United Nigeria.

What is there to be divided? Is it bread or salt? No one can say let’s divide a country.

For instance; I, Rochas who has schools in the northern part of this country in Socoto, Bauchi, Zariya, Yola, Jos,kano, Bauchi

The children are up to 15,000 where will I take them to? Why would I want to divide the country.

For me I stand for Nigeria and for the unity of Nigeria!

WHY DIDN’T WE HEAR FROM THE LEADERS CONDEMNING THIS ISSUE?

The reason. Is because people are afraid when they speak out they might go and kill members of their family. That’s the major problem but the leaders are talking.

We have problem with our leaders all over the country. The careless talk they make, the children take it very serious. Leaders will say Igbos don’t like Hausa, Hausas don’t like yorubas, yorubas don’t like Igbos and so on…. these kids are hearing it & sometimes when politicians want to be voted they also tell their youth that this tribe doesn’t like that tribe so they can gain cheap popularity.

SOME OF THE LEADERS IN THE NORTH ARE BACKING THE ISSUE OF DIVISION, WHAT DO YOU SAY?

Whoever says this doesn’t love the country. Some leaders want people to clap for them when they say their backing the Hausa or Muslims so they can gain the support of their people.

Where will that take us to as a nation? Nobody’s should talk in this way if we can come together as people it will be better for us.

WHAT WILL BRING THE END TO THIS CRISIS IN THE LAND?

In the first place, you should ask what is the problem of our country

Our problem is poverty and injustice and deceit that accompanies politics… that is our problem.

If we don’t do anything concerning this. You have not started. If you buy all the war equipment in the world and fill Nigeria it will not work unless you solve the issue of hunger and injustice. These young men are full of energy and all young men are full of energy if they don’t dispose it positively they will dispose it negatively.

WHAT WILL YOU SAY ABOUT APC IN NIGERIA?

There is no problem with APC if it’s by going with the name APC but there is a problem with the people in APC. APC is just a name like any other party. You can change the name to PPC and TPC.

The problem we have now is that APC never believed they can have this kind of problem. Our major challenge now is that the issue of Boko haram which did not start today – it has been a problem that we neglected over 40 years ago; where children are not going to school and they turn around to become Boko haram members – But now we have over 13.4 million children not going to school and nothing is being done about it. In the next 20 years, if nothing is done it will become a major problem for the president

That’s why I’m saying to Nigeria. Make hay while the sun shines.

Where this is not done we might have challenges in future. Let us carry along traditional rulers in the affairs of our nation because every young man comes from a community and the traditional ruler has the capacity to dictate and identify a good or bad youth in his community.

Gov. Udom Emmanuel is really putting in the works to shut the mouth of haters.

The Arewa Progressive Front, a political pressure group, has urged the Igbo to rally round Senator Rochas Okorocha, a former Imo State governor, to actualise the ambition to produce Nigerian President in 2023.

The group said Okorocha’s disposition as a detrabalized Nigerian, puts him at advantage over other Igbo contenders, adding that the North will throw it’s weight behind a candidate that puts the unity of the country above ethno-religious sentiments.

According to the group, the former governor, has pursued a united Nigeria, far before he joined partisan politics, which it said is evidenced in his free education programme that is open to all indigent children, irrespective of their ethnicity or religion.

Spokesperson of the group, Alhaji Ahmed Bawa, told reporters in Abuja, that Okorocha remains the best ticket that can guarantee the Igbo’s push for the presidency in 2023.According to him, “If the Igbo must make any cogent push for Nigerian presidency, then, they must be ready to project their best and most acceptable leaders. We are aware of campaign of calumny against the former governor, especially from his state, but we’re more comfortable with him than any other Igbo politician.



“No politician of Igbo extraction has assisted the North to solve the major challenge of out of school children as much as Okorocha has done through his free education programme. We have the records and the North will not ignore such huge investments”.

Bawa, who is also a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), hinged the choice of Okorocha on the fact that he is “the most widely acceptable candidate from the pool of Igbo politicians angling for the Presidency at the moment.

“When you look at the potential or assumed aspirants for the presidency from the Southeast or the entire Igboland, you would agree with me, that none of them can boast of the kind of acceptability enjoyed by the former governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha.”

“Okorocha’s free education, his longstanding affinity with the North and his visible human capital investments across the length and breadth of Nigeria cannot be rivaled by any of those conspiring for the presidency from among the Igbo”.

The APC Chieftain, advised key Igbo groups and stakeholders to unite behind Okorocha in order to enhance the chances of an Igbo man becoming Nigerian President by 2023.

“I think the Igbos need to bury their political differences and pursue this project with a common front, else they may as well perish the thought of making an Igbo man President in 2023”, he stated.

Fifty years ago, the abomination of slavery seemed like a thing of the past. But history has a way of repeating itself. Today, we find that human slavery is once again a sickening reality. At this moment, men, women and children are being trafficked and exploited all over the world: 2.4 million have been trafficked into forced labour worldwide of these, 600,000 to 800,000 are trafficked across borders each year and 12,000 children are working as slaves on cocoa plantations in West Africa. It is impossible to ever reach a consensus on the true scale of the problem but, regardless of the figures, what matters is that human trafficking is big and getting bigger.

What matters is that every number represents a human life destroyed. It is happening on every continent and in almost every country: whether the place we live is a source, destination or transit point for trafficking, none of us can claim to be wholly unaffected by this crime.

In criminal law, kidnapping is the unlawful transportation, asportation and confinement of a person against their will. It can also be defined as false imprisonment by means of abduction, both of which are separate crimes that when committed simultaneously upon the same person merge as the single crime of kidnapping.



The asportation/abduction element is typically but not necessarily conducted by means of force or fear. That is, the perpetrator may use a weapon to force the victim into a vehicle, but it is still kidnapping if the victim is enticed to enter the vehicle willingly (e.g. in the belief that it is a taxi).

Kidnapping may be done to demand for ransom in exchange for releasing the victim, or for other illegal purposes. Kidnapping can also be accompanied by bodily or psychological injury which elevates the crime to aggravated kidnapping.



A new form of this crime called is gradually rising to the fore in the united states, with its operational center in California where victims are heavily sedated by drugs before their abduction. Also more scary is the fact that a lot of the perpetrators are infact Nigerians. The victim catalog is now also beginning to include Nigerians both home and abroad.



In October of 2020, a Newport Beach pot dealer in California was sentenced to life in prison for the kidnapping and mutilation of a Southern California marijuana dispensary owner who was found in the Mojave Desert after a harrowing abduction.

Hossain Nayeri, who gained fame by staging a daring escape from the Orange County jail while awaiting trial, was sentenced to two consecutive life-without-parole prison terms for the brutal kidnapping and torture.



One thing we are not sure about is if this cartel is operated by the same Nigerian organ harvesting cartel that sells human organs as simple as other wares in the Anambra market but with the expertise of surgeons and anesthesiologists.



When families or individuals are tired of spending years on a medical waiting list, they sometimes purchase body parts – kidneys, eyes, lungs, heart, limbs and more – for transplant on the black market. This and many more are the driving forces behind the growing human traficking and organ harvesting.



It sounds like science fiction, but organ harvesting is an unfortunate fact in the criminology world of today. It is a criminal offense to traffic body parts, or perform transplants from any source not legally affiliated with a hospital or other medical facility, but legality doesn’t deter either side of these transactions.



Notably, quite a lot of illegally-trafficked body parts are harvested by any means necessary, and are gladly received, no-questions-asked, by the person willing to pay top dollar for a kidney, a heart, or a hip.

According to the UN Gift Hub, organ trafficking falls into three categories:

(1) Traffickers who trick the victim into giving up an organ for no cost.

(2) Con artists who convince victims to sell their organs, but who do not pay or who pay less than they agreed to pay

(3) Doctors who treat people for ailments which may or may not exist, and remove the organs without the victim’s knowledge



The organ trafficking trade involves a host of offenders. As the UN Gift noted, there is a recruiter who seeks out the ‘donor,’ there is a transporter of the organs, there are staff of the hospital or clinic that receives the organs, and of course the medical practitioners who perform the transplants. There are also middlemen, contractors, buyers and the banks that store the organs/tissue



Just this week a missing little girl was found alive, with her throat slit, and dumped in a soak away pit not far from her parent’s home after she went missing for days. She had ben abducted by a carpenter who lived right behind her parent’s hom



Gradually tipping it over the edge as these criminals throw cautin to the wind as the victims are now closer home as family and friends are not spared.

Many traffic offenders in Lagos State remain in default of paying their traffic offence penalties.

The LASG is therefore currently putting in place IT mechanism that will collate and publish the list of offenders and deploy appropriate sanctions.

In showing understanding of the current economic situation of its citizens and to show fairness and good faith, the LASG has therefore announced a 50% rebate on these existing unpaid traffic fines from January 1 to 31st January 2021.

After this deadline, the full 100% penalty would be payable, with VIO tasked with apprehending offenders and bringing them to book.

The National Chairman of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) Chief Barr Dan Nwanyanwu live on DMI tv made his opinion heard about plans to oust Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Acting Chairman Ibrahim Mustapha Magu by corrupt Nigerian politicians and business individuals in Nigeria.

Nwanyanwu said there are plots to remove Magu as EFCC Chairman, so that the status quo can be maintained i.e, supporting corruption to thrive uncovered.

Nwanyanwu denied the fact that Magu had been selling all recovered properties. He vouched that all properties that were sold, were the ones recovered before Magu became Acting Chairman of EFCC. He said those trucks in Port Harcourt were sold after the Federal Ministry of Works was called to access the trucks which they attached ridiculous prices hoping that they(fed min of works) will be contracted to sell them off. But in the end, the trucks were sold. Nwanyanwu vouched that those events were monitored by them as anti corruption settlers.

According Nwanyanwu all those properties and vehicles recovered by the Magu led EFCC are all in Zone 6 EFCC headquarters, Abuja. SUV cars, brand new buses are rusting in zone 6 without sales and you will see all there. “About 40 to 50 vehicles were recovered from one compound and all of them are still in the different offices of the anti-graft agency scattered all over the country.” “These vehicles are rusting away at the various EFCC offices, they have not been sold.

“As we are supporting Magu, we are also monitoring him.

“Magu has not sold anything under his reign as Acting Chairman of EFCC.

“Magu is victim of ”corruption fighting back, No more, no less.

“The truth is that, those who have been investigated and are due for court, are the ones putting these monies together so that they can influence top government functionaries close to President Muhammadu Buhari to remove Magu.

“Those people who have been investigated and due for court, are the ones fighting back, they are ready to take their own pound of flesh.

“And i will always give you my proverb, ‘the witch cried last night, the child dies today, who does not know that it was the witch that cried yesterday that killed the child.

“Let them prove it, if they do, i will come back to you to say, i am sorry and i will face the man that i have put my integrity on the line for.

“The allegations against Ibrahim Magu are unfounded and of no moment, and they are looking for ways to convince the president but the president knows that the fight against corruption is the only thing he has now, they want to truncate it.

“My advice to president Muhammadu Buhari is for him to invite Magu to a private meeting so that Magu can confide in him about the ideas of all the funds scattered all over Nigeria banks that are on the Post No Debit(PND), including funds in foreign currencies.

“These people will look for people to help them, they go to government functionaries or business people to negotiate the percentage that will be accruable to them , if the money is released. But Magu becomes a stumbling block to them with regards to the PND. They are all in the banks of the Federation.

“They are also using the press now to influence Magu’s removal. This is why you see all sorts of fabricated corruption stories about Magu on different media and social media platforms.

“A prominent Nigerian called me that he wrote something about the implication of the president removing Magu as EFCC Chairman. He said they have pulled down the article from the system. He did not know who pulled it down. I am even sure that this video and press statement might be pulled down. You might not see this again.

“I am from Imo state, and billions of naira have been stolen from our money and it is painful and bleeds my heart. These are the assignments that Magu must complete, unless the president says, ok, all of you have stolen enough, go and sin no more. Then we will say bye to the fight against corruption. I have just use my state as an example, which is one state.

“In all the states where money have been stolen and hidden, Magu can pinpoint them, Magu have completed the investigations of former ministers, governors etc and are due to have a date in court with the EFCC.

“When i say corruption is fighting back, corruption is really fighting back, i am not trying to say anybody is indispensable, Magu has really gone too far, he has recorded successes and he is not listening to corrupt politicians.

“Magu has achieved over 1000 convictions and has recovered over #800bn cash which President Buhari acknowledged innhis June 12 speech. Once they remove Magu, all these achievements will be reversed. That is what they want to achieve, that is why i said ‘corruption is fighting back’.

“All the corrupt politicians under president Buhari will be taken to court after we must have mounted pressure on them. On this struggle, i Chief Dan Nwanyanwu is on the same page with President Muhammadu Buhari.

“Ibrahim Magu for now, is the best man for the EFCC Chairman job. The president in a democracy must join hands with concerned citizens who have believe for this country to move forward.

“However, it is left for the President to succumb to corrupt politicians he has been fighting since 1984 as a military Head of State, so that it will now be Uhuru, it is left to the President.

“And if the President want this fight to yield expected results, Ibrahim Magu should be confirmed as EFCC Chairman by the Senate.

“It should be noted that we do not have personal interest, our interest is that we have too much money in the hands of very few that did not work for it. The only opportunity they have was because they found themselves in power which gave them the unchecked privileges to steal public funds. For those that will be attacking us, this is our reasons.

“If you believe in this country, that this is the time we need all the money for development, we must come and plead with president Buhari not to listen to to them.

“During the last time, i called them, enemies of Nigeria, and they remain the enemies and enemies to the fight against corruption.

Some residents of the Federal Capital Territory and Mararaba community of Nasarawa state have continued to reflect on act of kindness recently displayed by the General Overseer of Divine Hand of God Prophetic Ministries International Abuja, Prophet Dr. Emmanuel Omale.
Prophet Omale, in the heat of the COVID-19 lockdown had reached out to Abuja residents living in the Area 1 axis of the Federal Capital Territory and the densely populated Mararaba area in Nasarawa, precisely on April 18 and 19, 2020, respectively.

An eyewitness account confirmed that Prophet Omale and his team shared already prepared food to people who trooped out in their droves during the outreach. “The man of God and his people came with a lot of food and drinks. They also gave raw rice and many other things needed in the home at Area 1 and Mararaba,” the eyewitness said.

In a chat with a benefactor of Prophet Omale, Ibrahim Alkali, he said ” my life has not been the same since I came in contact with Prophet, a lot have change in me, and now during this COVID-19 period, he came to my rescue.
“Thank you very much prophet,” he said.

A community leader, Abdulmalik Alhassan expressed his happiness at the act of love displayed by the Prophet Omale at a time government’s COVID-19 palliative promise was yet to materialise.
“I’m very happy that people like this are still in this world, my prayer is that God will continue to increase him on all side. People must copy such good deed and kind-hearted pastor, so that the world becomes a better place,” he said.

Another eyewitness said he was thrilled because Prophet Omale never looked at tribe or religious affiliation before giving out foods and gifts. He added that the man of God went as far as personally feeding people living with different forms of disabilities.

In a chat with Prophet Omale, he said the outreach was in obedience to God’s instruction.
“God instructed me to feed people during COVID-19 pandemic.”
He urged people to be kind and help people, at least starting with a theirnext-door neighbour.

It started with a tweet. A Lagos State University student and Twitter user, Oduala Olorunrinu has successfully united and galvanized over 2,000 “lazy” Nigerian youths into action by simply taking up the baton of alleviating the needs of the people.


This is interesting because she is a 300-level student of Chemistry from a poor home who feels youths can also take responsibility against the spread of the pandemic. She has refused to wait on the government like others and decided to help sensitize Nigerians with a single tweet.


The tweet read “I am a chemist. I can help in making Hand Sanitizers so we can distribute to people. All we need is 1. Isopropyl alcohol 2. Glycerol 3. H202 4. Distilled water 5. Spray bottles. Let’s get a company to donate ethanol. Some people can’t afford hand sanitizers #FightCOVID19” on the 23rd of March, 2020.


This was very thoughtful, considering that there has been a huge increase in the price of hand sanitizers of over 50% since the pronouncement of the pandemic.


She started with an initial target of 10,000 hand sanitizers which has long being exceeded.

The journey from Material procurement, scarcity and hike in price of sanitizer bottles, movement over 50 kilometers everyday during the lockdown to produce sanitizers, delivery to states under lockdown, funding and distribution to different states in Nigeria with no personal car and little assistance is a question we should be asking Miss Olorunrinu despite the lockdown as it’s baffling and surprising that such a young individual could take such a daunting task and be determined to execute it without any support from the Nigerian government.


With Petty Donations From Well-Meaning Nigerians on Twitter, Miss Olorunrinu popularly known as “Chemical Sister” started this daunting task of providing as many as possible free hand sanitizers for the populous black nation of almost 200 million people in spite of the lockdown. This birthed a movement with the hashtag #OperationSanitize. Although, celebrities and some other twitter users have created a form of helping people through giveaways but this is quite different.


Youths all over the nation have taken this initiative to help raise public awareness about the danger of the COVID-19 pandemic in their respective areas while sensitizing on the preventive measures. This is but one of the many goals of her movement. The main goals are the distribution of free hand sanitizers, food and proper enlightenment on good hygiene to the uneducated, educated, old, vulnerable and young and the importance of social distancing along with obeying government health officials.


National unity is portrayed as most of the messages used or displayed in the cause of this operation are being translated into the many ethnic languages in Nigeria carrying almost every citizen along.


As of the time of filing this report, Miss Olorunrinu has been able to get over 20,000 hand sanitizers to over 7 states in Nigeria mainly, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, Ogun, Benue, Abuja, including Lagos, the epicenter of the COVID19 virus in Nigeria and she is still producing more.

ISMAILA ISA FUNFUA: A MODEL FOR LEADERSHIP PAR EXCELLENCE, NATION BUILDING AND PANACHE

The Chinese have a common illustration they make about how rear it is to find a distinguished general among a battalion. Although, an English rendition might not do justice of interpretation to the Mandarin aphorism, notwithstanding, I’ll attempt a literal translation.

'Thousand army easy obtain; one general hard request,' a simple translation of this would mean, although, it is easy to find thousands of soldiers, however, there is difficulty spotting an outstanding leader among them.

For ardent political observers in Nigeria, you will bear me witness that the name Alhaji Ismaila Isa Funtua is an ivory institution in the country’s political parlance, having seen more days with political antecedents spanning over 50 years, and still relevant in the current scheme of things, you will agree that the crop of green horn politicians the country currently boast should sit by Alhaji Funtua’s feet by moonlight to learn the ropes of politics.

Alhaji Funtua is a political veteran, and we have decided to celebrate this statesman of character and admirable personae, whose life both in the private and public sphere beams exemplary leadership on all front.

His achievements as a businessman, media patron, administrator and nation builder par excellence stands him out exceptionally from a mammoth crowd.

While the country is bedeviled by statesmen with leadership deficit, Alhaji Funtua is one of the few that the Chinese proverbial military general describes as hard to come by.

Regarded as one of the most powerful men in the country today, who is not only friends with President Muhammadu Buhari, but also one of the trusted elites in the president’s inner circle.

Donkey’s years ago, as a young man, garbed with his aspiration and tenacity to defy the odds, Funtua picked his first work appointment at the Katsina Native Authority, and stayed on the job for about seven years.

Between 1979 and 1983, a phase in Nigeria's history known as the second republic, Funtua served the country as Minister of Water Resources under the Alhaji Sheu Shagari regime.

With political antecedents and public service life, Alhaji Funtua has made choices believed to be in the best interest of Nigerians collectively.

One of such audacious decisions informed his establishment of the Democrat Newspapers during military dictatorship in the 80s.

The newspaper would refuse to be intimidated or quiet down by the tyranny and decrees restraining freedom of speech.

Alhaji Funtua's unwavering resolute for the good of society informed his stance against the numerous acrimonious plots to silence the voice of reasoning of the people during the regime of the Late General Sani Abacha.

His perceived stubbornness would go to put his life on the brink back then, when he became tipped for Late Abacha's hit-list.

He was number 13 on the list of targets of the late head of state.

The Katsina State born political gladiator, between 1994-1995, was among the eminently selected 37 man committee for the Constitutional Conference that charted a direction for the country on numerous national issues, including establishing the zoning and rotational presidency between the North and South and ensuring it gets entrenched in the constitution.

Unlike run off the mill politicians, who consider personal gains, and ensure their longevity in public office was protected while taking decisions of public concerns, Alhaji Funtua, through the years, has proven to be a true statesman who holds national objective and public interest highly above anything else in decision making.

It might interest you to note, that the last name of this rear breed is the same as the name of his native local government of origin, Funtua, which happens to be one of the premiere local governments of Katsina State.

Funtua Local Government Area was created in 1967 and is under Katsina South senatorial district. The predominant occupation of the people of the community are animal rearing, trading and agriculture.

On that account, it is not out of place to say the popularity of this esteemed Nigerian made his native local government popular, as most people would likely not have heard of that place but for him.
In his academic pursuit, Alhaji Funtua was a pioneer student of the Federal Training Centre, in his home state, and went on to earn a degree as an Administrative Officer at the Institute of Administration, Ahmadu Bello University, ABU, Zaria. He proceeded to earn another degree as an Administrator from the Manchester University, UK.
He was the Monitor General of the Course 9 of the prestigious National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS, Kuru.
He would then move to be appointed by the Northern Region Government as Personnel Manager of the 10,500 strong United Nigerian Textile Company, Kaduna.
It is safe to allude that his career path in industrial production broadened his interest in business, he then rose to become a serial multi-sectorial investor and successful entrepreneurial.
Funtua is the founder and chairman of Bulet International Nigeria Limited, a full fledged indigenous construction company, that is responsible for building most of the iconic edifices and public holdings in Abuja.
He is the founding Managing Director of the New Africa Holdings, the mother company that was responsible for publishing the defunct Democrat newspapers.
Funtua became Vice President to late MKO Abiola, as President of the Newspaper Proprietors Association of Nigeria, NPAN. He however could not succeed MKO as president at the time, because he was incarcerated by General Sani Abacha.
He however would later ride on his antecedents to become president of the association later. He is the Publisher of Blueprint Newspaper, one of the few media outlets that still upholds the sanctity of forthright news reporting.
Malam Funtua, who was the youngest minister in the Shagari regime, is a life patron of the NPAN, a staunch defender of free press and freedom of expression, a philanthropist, humanitarian, chairman and director of many successful companies.
The chronicles and legacies of this titan are enduring and would out live him. For the crop of emerging leaders in Nigeria, I present to you Alhaji Ismaila Isa Funtua, he is a 360° leader, a leader by every standard of the word. He is worth emulating.

The Chairman and Spoke person of the Association of Ebonyi State Indigenes in the Diaspora, Ambassador Pascal Oluchukwu has urged the leadership of the PDP to caution Ebonyi State Governor, Engineer Dave Umahi, for the unjustifiable ban he placed against some journalists and media organizations from doing their job in the State. In a Press Statement released to Newsmen in Abuja, on April 26, 2020, the unrelenting Social critic and civil rights advocate, called on the National Leadership of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to wade into the undemocratic Practices of the Governor and ensure that his actions, on behalf of the Party, do not undermine its enviable democratic credentials.

Ambassador Pascal was speaking on the disgraceful and most unwarranted ban placed upon two (2) journalists deployed to the Ebonyi Government House to cover government activities for The Punch and The SunNews media houses respectively. Against all entreaties from well meaning public spirited individuals and organizations, the PDP Governor has refused to allow these journalists any access to the Government House where they have a legitimate and constitutionally guaranteed duties to perform on behalf of their organizations. The journalists were being punished not because of their incompetence, but because they have demonstrated independent reasoning and have refused to be corrupted or intimidated on the discharge of their duties.

Ambassador Pascal stated that the Ebonyi Diaspora Association “condemns, in strongest terms, the dictatorial actions of the Governor, who has been ruling the good people of Ebonyi State like a Roman Imperial Proconsul, clearly unaccountable to the democratic tenets that placed him in that position.”

In the circumstances, Ambassador Pascal called on the national leadership of the PDP to rise up to the challenges imposed on its peculiar position to rein in on the Governor and ensure that he remains respectful of democratic norms in leading the government and people of Ebonyi State on its behalf.

He stated that in addition to stopping this undemocratic behavior, “the PDP also needs to caution Governor Dave Umahi against making unguarded and careless utterances capable of undermining the democratic gains of the party in the State.” He cited the example of the gag order issued to the Civil Servants not to speak out against any government policy, however unpopular or risk being fired from their jobs.

The Ebonyi-born activist further stated that for the PDP to safeguard its democratic reputations “ it cannot overlook obvious disrespect for the rule of law and must therefore brings Governor Dave Umahi to book, and caution his approach. You can not halt freedom of speech, or ban Journalists from going about their constitutional rights. If the PDP refuses to caution Governor Umahi, he will mortgage the Ebonyi State to the APC; and we all know what that means for the 2023 general elections", Ambassador Pascal concludes.

Our system has been raped! Nigeria has been on the dining table for too long. This whole pandemic should open our minds this time, not just our eyes. Maybe when all this is over, we would realise that our lessons was hidden inside the COVID-19 Pandemic.

A Popular Twitter Influencer narrate how he survived an attack by robbers who wielded a cutlass.

According to @unclemohamz, he was given a cut on the head by the robbers after he told them he had no money on him.

The Twitter user who disclosed that he was rescued by some people in a mosque around his neighbourhood, said he bled for 30 minutes non-stop. He however survived the incident even though many people thought he wouldn't.

One person has been confirmed dead in multiple accidents involving several vehicles on Otedola Bridge in Lagos on Wednesday morning.
The accident, which occurred around 8:40 am, reportedly halted traffic flow on the highway and affected motorists heading towards Berger as well as those heading into Lagos from Berger on the Lagos–Ibadan expressway.
According to the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency, the accident is said to involve up to ten vehicles including a containerized truck, a pickup and a high capacity bus as well as several cars.
Assistant Corps Commander Olusanjo of the FRSC Ojota Unit Command, confirmed that the driver of a Toyota Hilux pickup van lost his life in the accident, while the other female occupant of the vehicle has been rushed to the hospital after sustaining injuries.
LASTMA has also advised motorists to use the CMD road from Secretariat towards Berger pending further updates on the road.

Notorious kidnap kingpin, Linus Lebari popularly known ‘Bobby Devil' was gunned down by officers of the Bori Police Station in Rivers State, led by the DPO, at about 8.16 pm on Sunday night.

The suspected notorius kidnapper, who is from Tekon Sogho in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State had been on the wanted list of the Police.

This is the cutest story on the internet right now, as Iphie Alfred narates how she helped a man weeping because the policemen in his area took away his bike and how a good samaritan gave the man money to give the policemen inother to release his bike.

We still have good people in this country.

Few days ago I was on a bike to Aswani market when I saw an elderly man in front of Aswani police station crying like a baby �
I wanted to pass and mind my business when the okada man carrying me shouted at him "MAN UP, YOU ARE A MAN, NO DEY Bleep UP"
i got angry and asked him to drop me �
I paid him off and turned to go meet the crying man �
I already had tears in my eyes before I could reach him ����
I hugged him like I have known him and he cried the more ����
We both cried and people passing were just looking at us �
I still haven't asked him why he was crying but I wanted him to understand it's OK to not be so strong.
A man in a Toyota jeep saw us and stopped, packed by the side and came to meet us to find out what was wrong �
His wife is late and left two little children for him � one of the kids was seriously ill and he was trying to make some money to buy drugs from the local pharmacy when police stopped him and seized his bike for refusing to give them some money ��
He cried telling his story, explaining that he didn't have any money on him and will settle them on return but they seized his bike and that day was the second day �
His son gets more sick by the day and he can't do anything but look at him and cry ���
The man asked if I was related to him and I said no I just saw him crying and wanted to comfort him and find out whats wrong.
Together we went back to the police station, the man asked him how much were they demanding and he said 3000.
He gave him the 3000 to give them and they released his bike �.
He almost laid down on the floor in appreciation...
He also gave him an extra 7k to get meds for the son �
We both thanked him and he drove off.
The bike man insisted I follow him to know his place and help take his son to isolo General hospital.
Luckily we were attended to immediately, I gave him the money I wanted to use and buy stuffs at Aswani market, he was so grateful and told the nurses to help thank me �.
I was happy I was able to help.
Almost every evening after work I intentionally drop at the bike stand where he and other bikers wait for passengers just to patronise him �
He will let out a big smile and we will gist till he gets to my gate �
I invited him and his kids to come around on Sunday for lunch, he promised to come.
I can't wait to have them around �

From 1999 till date, all Nigerian Vice Presidents have always been in charge of the economy, based on convention.

Police officers operating under the code name, ‘Operation STING’, shot dead two suspected armed robbers on Saturday September 7, at Rumuagholu in Obio/Akpor LGA of Rivers State.

Spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, DSP Nnamdi Omoni, who confirmed the incident, said the police officer while acting on a credible information trailed a Black Mazda car with Reg.no KNM 504 Rivers with four suspected armed robbers on board who were on their way for an operation.
”On sighting the Police, the robbers immediately jumped down from the car and opened fire on them and in a return fire two of them were fatally wounded, while two others escaped with life threatening gun shot wounds.

He stated further that after the encounter, the following Exhibits were recovered: One AK47 Rifle, Eighty Three (83), rounds of 7.62mm, Two Magazines, One Pump Action Gun, Four Cartridges, and Operational vehicle.

Police assured that they have declared manhunt for the rest and efforts are seriously on to arrest other members of the deadly gang on the run.
"The Public and indeed residents of Rumuagholu and Rumuokoro are enjoined to increase their security consciousness and report any person or persons with gun shot wounds to the nearest Police Station via the following security numbers: 08032003514, 08098880134,08182157778"

Omoni assured that the Command will spear no efforts in dealing decisively with all criminal elements in the State, especially in these EMBER MONTHS,( between September-December) and solicited cooperation in this in nabbing criminals in the state.
